🤯17.2 points a game and still gets WAIVED 👀 Here's Why Odyssey Sims got cut from the Dallas Wings

Maddy Siegrist and Jaelyn Brown are back finally they are healthy so the Dallas Wings have announced today that Jaylen Brown and Matty seis are returning to their roster because they have been medically cleared um and each will be on the active roster starting tomorrow uh so that is very very exciting for both Matty seagis and Jaylen Brown so guys the thing to note is that mty seus has been out for a while uh she was out um she broke her she broke her finger she broke her left index finger um on June the 17th uh during a game uh she had surgery um and it took a little bit for her to come back little took a little bit of time and I think for a lot of lot of WNBA players the long uh the long Olympic break has really helped for some players to get healthy and a lot of players to get back all right um so for Matty seagrist you know she she was a player who was really really good to start the season like Matty seagis um she hadn't got injured uh she would be on my list for most improved player had she not got injured she would be on my list because she was phenomenal to start the season uh to start the season she was averaging 14.6 points a game 4.2 rebounds a game she was starting she was absolutely playing her butt off Matty seagis um and then you have an injury and injuries suck right um and we we have um you know we have her get hurt get surgery rehab her her finger um now she is finally finally finally back and will make her return to the court now the question is like you know will Matty Seas be the same Matty seis that we saw at the at the beginning part of this year I hope so and the Dallas Wings hope so as well because Matty secret was phenomenal she was absolutely phenomenal and guys I know that that maybe a lot of y'all don't watch the Dallas wings um maybe you don't know who Matty secret is but guys um I highly highly highly recommend y'all do that uh because she she was lights out she was really really good uh to start to start the year um and injuries you know especially when you're when you are having a breakout year injuries suck and now she's all right another player that is back for the uh Dallas Wings is Jaylen Brown don't get her confused with with the NBA's Jaylen Brown now Jaylen Brown is a is a player who uh who is a rookie though um Tech though is not the same age as other rookies she's an older rookie um the thing about Jaylen Brown is that she had a breakout training camp uh she's a player who had never made it to made it actually on a WNBA roster before uh she had a breakout preseason uh she had some fantastic fantastic uh preseason games uh there was one uh preseason game in particular now this is what sort of got everybody talking about Jaylen Brown it was a game against the Indiana Fever in the preseason where she scored 21 points uh she was awesome she was she was absolutely awesome um and that performance was enough for uh this player who had never made a WNBA roster before to actually make the roster from that performance and unfortunately after that she got hurt after that performance in the pre season uh we saw her we saw her um uh have a nose fracture uh so she was out for that uh and then after that she ended up having some sort of illness and she was out for that and so she basically missed the entire first uh first half of the season but now now now now Jaylen Brown is actually back and we will get to see Jaylen Brown play um in an actual regular season game though she she technically did play in one regular season game game but we'll see her back in Action um and actually be able to see what Jaylen Brown can do in the regular season so so both MADD seis and Jaylen Brown are back which is absolutely huge for a team like um for a team like Dallas who is struggling big time right now but guys not just these two players not not only do you have two of your uh two of your really good role players back for this team healthy you also have Satou Sabally is also back satu sa who is making her return guys I love this photo I had to pick it because I I just absolutely love this photo of satu sa um but guys satsu sa is finally finally back she is finally healthy and she is making her return to the court for the Dallas Wings she was she's with the team all first half of the Season uh just on the sidelines rehab it sort of getting back uh we saw her play in the Olympics uh for Germany um and you know she was pretty good she was very good for Germany uh she averaged 18.8 points uh a game 5.8 rebounds a game in um uh in four games in the Olympics for Germany uh she is a player who was really really good last season uh last season uh she she was fantastic uh she was the most improved player of the year uh last season in 2023 uh she was on the all WNBA first team team uh she was great last season absolutely fantastic last season for for the um for the Dallas Wings she was a player who could uh who could shoot efficiently from the three-point line uh she could shoot um she could shoot around the basket mid-range shots she can kind of do anything she can do back to the basket you know she is a she's a very very complete post player for satu sa um but in the off season she injured herself uh during uh qualifications uh for uh for Germany um she got hurt um during the off season and she had had a shoulder injury and um you know since then she had she end up having a surger having surgery in February um and she's just been rehabbing rehabing rehabbing um she rehabbed the entire first half of the Season uh with the Dallas Wings made her return back to the court in the Olympics for Germany and now she is ready to make her return for the D Dallas wings so now she is finally finally back satu sabali is back for the Dallas wings and this is a huge huge W for this team because you know the Dallas Wings have not been very good they have not been very good this year um because they just don't have like last year they were really good last year to me Dallas they really did impress me they impressed me by by the way they played last year um and this year I was expecting them to play well right I was expecting them to them to make some stuff happen however they're last in the WNBA right now they have a record of 6 and 19 and as I said last year they were a good team last year the uh the the Dallas Wings they were fourth in the WNBA they were fourth in the WNBA last year because they had a healthy satu sa they had a healthy arque gumal and both of them two balled out of control last year and so I am very much interested to see how they do this year now that both are healthy and also now now that Maddie seagis has leveled up her game I'm I'm very much interested to see what this new look Dallas Wings team can look like I know a lot of people were criticizing Dallas earlier in the year um and and now now we're really going to be able to see we are really really going to be able to see um you know what what they're made of and if this Dallas Wings team can go from being 12th in the league the very bottom of the WWE League into um a playoff contending team it is very much possible for them to do that and with satu sa being back uh it makes it even more possible so we will see what happens now guys it's great that you have players return to the active roster however there are downsides to that there are downsides to that and the downsides is that the Dallas wings are losing two big Farewell to Monique Billings and Odyssey Sims time players who were huge for this team all season so when we talk about when we talk about what uh what is lost um for for the Dallas wings um you don't only you don't have that many roster spots right you have a maximum of 12 roster spots 12 active roster spots for uh for WNBA teams and um the Dallas wings were able to sign uh both Odyssey Sims and um uh and Monique Billings to a hardship contract all right because they had they had three injuries so they were able to have a hardship contract for both of those players and and both both Monique Billings and Odyssey Sims bald out of control so so guys I think there's a lot of people who don't give a lot of credit to um you know players who can um just pop on a team and make an immediate impact um and first let's talk about Monique Billings because that's exactly what she was able to do with this Dallas Wings team uh she she was a player who um who can play basketball absolutely can play basketball last year she was with the uh she was with the Atlanta Dream she she's actually been with the Atlanta Dream her entire career um and you know it was it was uh you know she ended up going to Dallas um as a hardship U sige um she was not signed to start the season um but she ended up uh getting on a hardship with with Dallas um and she made an immediate impact guys uh she started she started a couple games um she started half of the season for um for Dallas and she was an impact player she scored uh she was a leader uh for for some of the younger players uh and she was just a force to be reckoned with not only not only when when it comes to scoring but also when it comes to rebounds so far this year she averaged 8.8 points a game um 6.6 rebounds a game uh this this year for for the uh for the Dallas Wings she's an impactful player she can give you really really good minutes uh there were some there were some uh some uh some games where you know she was giving you well she was giving the the the Dallas Wings you know 10 plus points making an impact making stuff happen um and unfortunately there is a finite number of roster spots that WNBA teams have and you have situations where a very very talented Monique Billings is now roosterly you know this is is is one of the cons of 12 roster spots and guys I this is what makes me even more excited about the fact that we have the um we have the expansion coming um because you're going to be a to have room for really good players like a Monique Billings and like Odyssey Sims so so similar to similar to Monique Billings Odyssey Sims uh is a Odyssey Sims was dominate really good role player who can just uh make an impact right she can make it impact um wherever she needs to uh she is one of those players who is uh who is a Shir up baller guys I I don't know I don't know how else to sort of talk through it guys um she signed again a hardship contract she signed again a hardship U Odyssey Sims uh signed a hardship contract with with the Dallas wings um she she was with the Dallas Wings a little bit uh last year as well um and guys this this Dallas Wings team needed everything needed everything that Odyssey Sims had to offer so Odyssey Sims um she played at nine games started seven for the Dallas wings and guys let me tell you her stats she averaged 17.2 points a game 5.6 assists per game and she just got cut guys a player that is averaging 17.2 points a game in the WNBA gets cut yeah somebody is picking up Odyssey Sims stats I like I I would be I would be extremely surprised if Odyssey Sims does not have a roster to go to by next week yes both Mo'Nique Billings and Odyssey Sims need a roster spot because they are both fantastic but what Odyssey Sims has been able to do with this with this Dallas Wings team like it's just insane to me it is absolutely insane that somebody who has been that productive that much of a leader for this uh for this Dallas Wings team for her to not have a roster spot that is crazy and guys it's not like it is not like um Odyssey Sims is averaging 17 points a game and she's playing trash right she or she's shooting up crazy shots and and she's shooting very inefficiently and all this stuff no no she's averaging 17.2 points a game on he this 53% shooting shoting from the field what are we talking about guys everybody everybody needs to uh all the GMS and the WNBA y'all need to be on y'all phones y'all need to be on y'all phones talking to see if you can get Odyssey Sims on your team I'm I'm I'm just saying guys and and selfishly Chicago pick up the phone make something happen I'm just saying because Odyssey Sims is too good to not be on a roster she has proven herself to too much this season to not have a roster but again guys this is a casualty this is a casualty of limited roster spots that's a that's a casualty it's a casualty of that and and then unfortunately unfortunately for us there is nothing we can do about it but hopefully hopefully Odyssey Sims will be picked up you know quick fast in a hurry uh players uh coaches coaches and GMS have better been talking to her and her agent today because because I can think about just about every single team almost every single team in the W uh would improve their chances of making it further either making it to the playoffs or making it further in the playoffs with a player like an odyssey s on your team ready to go ready to come in the game and make a difference now guys I am very uh curious to see ultimately where Odyssey Sims ends up uh but um guys I'm just saying she's fantastic um and uh uh yeah she's going to be somewhere fast she's going to be somewhere very very fast all right let's get to y'all comments let's get to y'all comments uh first degree Sports says uh do you think our Sky will pick up SIMs probably not um probably not uh but she would be a huge asset to the sky uh but probably not though um yeah the the reason the reason why I say that the reason why I say uh probably not is because um you have um basically guaranteed contracts now and so and so the sky are going to because we're because we're uh we're um uh halfway halfway through the year over halfway through the year um the contracts are are guaranteed uh basically for the rest of the year um for um Sky players and so if you wave somebody you're going to have to pay their full salary and so uh I don't I don't think I don't think uh the Chicago Sky will do that and eat the clock um so so that that's why that's why I I don't I don't see her going to Chicago Sky now if if um if this was before if this was before um we got halfway through the season and this was um and before the marina mabery trade um yes I could see this guy going for her uh but now it's too late it's too late to actually reasonably go for her because you're going to be eating money because because you're going to you're going you're going to have to wave uh somebody and then pay them uh the full uh full full rest of the way uh so yeah this is a is this is a tough time to sort of get waved from teams because again it's it's
