Breaking Down The Miami Dolphins First Official Depth Chart

Intro what's up guys welcome back to the channel as always I'm your co-host Donovan quick and uh we're going to be going through the Dolphins first official depth chart of the preseason and there's some interesting things going on on this list uh I'm going to break it down for you tell you my thoughts about it tell you what could change what's probably going to stay the same and I mean some really surprising things honestly uh and we'll get right into it you know so first things first we're going to go with the offense uh Offense you know pretty standard you got Tyreek Hill Terron Armstead but here's the here's where it get starts to get interesting you got Robert Jones starting at left guard Aaron Brewer we already kind of knew was at Center um Liam ikenberg seems to have the front runner spot at Right Guard I actually thought it was going to be opposite I thought it was going to be Liam on the left side and Robert on the right side looks like it's going to be opposite of what I thought obviously Austin Jackson on the right side here's something a little bit more interesting Durham SMI and John it's Durham then Janu but it seems like more in training camp that it's going to be Janu then kind of Durham Durham's going to be more of The Blocking guy and stay blocking whereas Janu can block he can you know play fullback he can play like actual in the slot and go and catch the ball wherever so he Janu going to be a lot more versatile in this offense but you know for now Durham's ahead on the actual depth chart uh then of course Alec engals our only fullback and an interesting thing here is we have two running backs so we have two wide receivers and two running backs as opposed to three wide receivers and two one running back yeah most certain nhan then behind them are Jeff Wilson and S Savon ammed which is actually kind of surprising that ammed is ahead of Brooks and wri at this moment but I mean he's pretty good when he's in there so I have him kind of Fringe roster spot so to see him up up in the depth chart kind of glad to see him you know at least trying to make his way on the roster QB's obviously it's two of Mike White scy Thompson wide receivers Jaylen Wadd uh Tyreek Hill you know those are the starters here's where it gets interesting though on offense the backups it starts with Brax and baros and River Craycraft then it goes to Willie Sneed who we just signed off the streets and Anthony Schwarz and then it goes to Bron Sanders and Eric ukama and Eric ukama is going to be one of those Fringe guys to make the roster you know in OTAs he really started to show up and show out a little bit kind of like what he did last year and showed flashes in his rookie year but you know he had the neck injury last year even when he had like a decent start to the season where he looked like he was going to be used you know in in certain packages that were going to be cool to see and interesting to say the least uh and he was going to be that d damic guy uh and to see him this would be eighth on the on the death chart so far not really good to see uh but then you also have our sixth round pick Malik Washington being ninth on the dep chart so I'm not really sure how I feel about that either now this is going to be one of like the more inaccurate things right cuz we're probably only going to keep five or six receivers on roster I'm pretty sure Brax and bario secured himself a spot obviously Wadd and Tyreek Malik Washington secured self a spot with just being a six round pick I highly doubt we cut him brayon Sanders has been a fringe roster practice s guy his entire career so it's really going to come down to like River crate craft Eric ukama and then don't forget you still have Odell who isn't in here yet because he's on the pup list so that's that's why he's not on here and so yeah the receivers position that's going to be an interesting battle for you know the really the four five6 spot behind the first three of Odell bottle and Tyreek uh but looks like the the white boys Brax and bars and River Craycraft I mean they've been sticking around Craycraft has been sticking around for three years who he he's been one of those Old Reliable guys that McDaniel just loves so he can't really argue with it can't really say it's you know a bad thing running back wise H honestly like Jeff Wilson could be a trade candidate you know come time for roster cuts Savon ammed like I said he's going to be a fringe roster guy he's going to be either on there off there who knows Jaylen Wright's going to make the roster so you have at least moster hn and Jaylen Wright with probably one more between Chris Brooks Jeff Wilson and Savon ammed if Jeff Wilson does not get traded it's probably Jeff Wilson and then Chris Brooks goes to the practice squad and who knows what happens to ammed um cuz he's been in the league for a little bit now so I'm not sure if they really want to waste a practice squad spot on him and then we're going to get into the nitty-gritty the offensive line that has been terrible throughout the training camp we have Aaron Brewer he's going to be starting center doesn't matter he's going to be there it looks like they're cross training Jack drisle to also play center so he's going to be like the backup along with ikenberg you know if anything happens so you have Liam there at Right Guard Jag Driscoll behind him Lester cotton behind him honestly kind of interesting to see that cuz cotton was starting for us at the end of the season last year um yeah that that's that's interesting Keon Smith they've been cross training between tackle and guard Robert Jones is going to be the starter that's just what it is but what is also interesting don't forget Isaiah win is on the pup list so he's going to be coming back sometime soon and it we're not sure if it's going to be at the beginning of the season or if it's going to be midseason but wi is going to be coming back and when he when he does come back he's probably our best guard so he's going to be either at left guard uh taking over for Robert Jones or Right Guard taking over for Liam mikenberg he did play left guard last year when he was healthy so that's the that's what I'm going to be eyeing there for him and then Robert Jones can kind of switch between left guard and Right Guard he's really good with that and that's all I got for you for offense now we're going to trans transition over to defense and yeah with that being said Defense defense is interesting so before we get into this remember Jaylen Phillips Bradley chub Cameron good all on the pup all will not be listed on the dep chart so for your starting defensive tackles running three defensive tackles so looks like it's going to be a 34 scheme even though it's kind of mostly going to be hybrid but the depth chart reads as a three before going to be Zach Seer Bonito Jones and Kus Campbell not really a surprise with caler and Campbell seeing Bonito Jones there is really cool to see honestly tier tart as a backup I like that Jonathan Harris DeShaun hand those guys have all stood out in training camp it's going to be interesting to see how many defensive tackles they really keep on roster um cuz we have all of these guys right here between second and third string they're all kind of replaceable with each other Brandon peely is probably going to be cut because he can be stashed on the practice squad he was a good depth guy and he made some plays when he was in there last year uh had a really solid preseason last year ended up on our practice squad came up to the active roster with all the injuries and he played decently well when he was in there uh Neville G uh gallamore he's he he he's a he's just one of those depth guys that is just you know what you're going to get out of him uh he's going to be a fringe roster guy pay is probably gone out of there um I don't think Mack is going to be making the roster either so and it's going to be interesting to see how many really defensive tackles that they keep on there CU I highly doubt we keep more than six and we have probably eight that I feel comfortable with being on the roster now to the really interesting part so with three of our pass rushers being on uh the P list currently and going to be missing time most likely we have quincon Bell the former receiver in college is going to be our starting outside linebacker um currently over our rookie uh chop Robinson and our other rookie Mo chimra uh we also got cam Brown and Grayson Murphy there that are listed as you know backups agba obviously going to be the starter to start the season we kind of knew that when we resigned him it is kind of good to see ogba back on the team I I wasn't a huge fan of his release like I knew it was coming I knew it was coming the year before that um because he just had no money guaranteed and we could save $16 million if we cut him so then we went ahead and we did that but now we brought him back for a decent price with the retirement uh of I can't remember his name off the top of my head and I feel stupid for that but we're going to move on but yeah it looks like chop is currently the backup behind ogba I wouldn't say this is going to be a forever thing chop is probably going to end up being the starter by the Time season starts and Quinn Bell is going to be you know behind him but with the first depth chart release you kind of want the younger guys to be a little bit more hungry and you want to reward some of the guys for being you know just outstanding throughout training camp and Quinn Bell has been outstanding throughout training camp you know you kind of see him and you're like dang he looks kind of thin for an outside linebacker but he has the size he has the athleticism but then he also talked about in his interview with Omar Kelly how he he learned that in the NFL it's not all about how athletic you are you have to put in the work put in the work for the techniques and get the techniques down and that's how you're going to be successful in the league and you know to see him up there it's kind of cool to see for him Grayson Murphy he was I believe on our practice squad last year as well he looks okay I I wouldn't doubt that he's just another practice moving on to inside linebacker we have some injuries here none of them are on the pup list as of right now uh David long dealing with some injuries um Brooks is dealing with some injuries Anthony Walker's dealing with some injuries uh so I highly doubt we see any of those three uh in the preseason games uh or at least this one this week uh Duke Riley uh V uh Zeke vanderberg and Channing Tindall those guys are going to be competing for the last middle linebacker spots Channing Tindall really needs to step up and show out especially on either special teams or in practice or in the preseason he needs to show us something incredible to make this roster you know he came in as a sure tackler with speed and everything else but he lacked in size and he just hasn't produced at all he's been buried on the depth chart now give and this is one of our more deeper rooms in on the team so to have chaining Tindall make something of himself I said in another video after retirement that maybe chaining Tindall can make the transition from inside to outside because of his speed because of his tackling ability so that maybe he can be used more in pass rush situation rather than you know just sitting there on the bench and collecting dust uh's probably off the roster I'm not even going to really waste my time talking about him although he's had a decent Camp U moving on to the corners we have ramay and Kendall Fuller as expected at the top uh ker kou currently ahead of Nick Needum uh in the nickel position safey jvan Holland and Jordan puyer no surprise there uh you kind of Co back uh it looks like cam Smith is the ooh here we go here's interesting stuff so cam Smith is the first backup behind Ramsay the second backup behind Ramsey is uh the second best white Corner in the league or maybe the first best white Corner in the league Ethan boner uh you have San Neil who's a special team's just ace and storm duck who's had a really really good camp I might add is sitting there also and storm duck has a real shot at making this roster Ethan boner basically solidified his roster spot you know Nick need him's also there he could play nickel he could play safety he's before his Achilles injury he was the best Nickel in the entire league so hopefully he can get back to that you know last year was his first year back from it he still was working his way back so hopefully he's fully healthy now 100% And can go um Jaylen I'm gonna mess up your last name bro um MRE uh he had a he has had a really good camp as well see him back there not really too surprising because of all the talent that's just ahead of him this is is really we've been really lucky to have depth at corner but we've been really unlucky with the amount of health issues we've had at corner so hopefully health issues can start to go away and we can keep our our lovely starters there and just you know have our depth for fun rather than actually having to use it Elijah Campbell probably going to make the roster Marcus May gonna make the roster Patrick McMorris probably going to be a practice squad guy along with Perry Colbert I don't see making the roster probably won't make practice squad either but you know that's just what it is right there and so yeah we're going to go ahead and Summary we're going to do a summary of all this right so the biggest surprises of this so far is seeing you know the guards spots seeing Robert Jones and Liam mikenberg when you're not really sure who's going to be the starter with when Isaiah wi comes back you weren't sure if either of those guys were going to beat out Jack Driscoll uh and it looks like they have um then you move over to the defensive tackle side you're wondering who's going to replace Christian Wilkins and that looks like it's going to be Bonito Jones and clas Campbell um and then you it's G to be interesting to kind of see what happens there then you got the outside linebacker spot who's going to replace Phillips and chub and it's going to be by committee folks cuz agba don't got the gas tank like that to be playing 50 snaps a game um but you know if he can go in there and make something happen then you have chop and chimra and you have Quinton Bell that the sheer athleticism on them the the the youth that they have the endless motor that they have to just go play after play after play hopefully that comes in handy and I I'm interesting interested to see how the running back room starts to unfold a little bit honestly behind aan and moer what happens with Jeff Wilson does he get traded as he make the roster what happens with Ed does he make the roster at all what happens with Chris Brooks is he on practice squad or is he on roster um all really really good questions um if you guys even care about the specialist part um Jason Sanders obviously no competition Jake Bailey obviously no competition then you have returner is goes baros ccraft Malik Washington and then you have baros hhan Anthony Schwarz Malik Washington or kick returner so Anan could be out there for kick returns I doubt they really want him out there for that but it looks like they said hell no dep pent returns for hn don't really blame them on that but yeah that's what I got for y'all today let me know what
