Reaction as Matt O'Riley injured in Brighton's 4-0 Carabao Cup win against Crawley Town

hi I'm Mark Dunford I'm here with Sam Morton from Sussex world we are here Sam after Brighton of beating Crawley 4-nil in the carbel cup what did you make of that game it was a weird one wasn't really it was um again that you look at the score line you expect to say Brighton dominated and run away with the game which they obviously did in the end but um cwy should have scored at least two or three goals on the day especially in that first half um Josh Flint had a couple of massive chances yeah bizar he yeah yeah kind of didn't kind of want um Chan to fall to your left back really no um but Cy did create lots of chances in the game um and really did go toe-to-toe with the Premier League side just like they did against Crystal Palace in preseason yeah and we saw a lot of those signs where Cory really could carve open the defense and create chances bar brg made a couple of really good saves in that first half and it was a bit of a mystery how they were behind in at the break really um but Brighton they showed their quality and they brought on Premier League quality players or Premier League quality players at the end of the day and that really told and and the Scot made that point and they're kind of a different different nature of um of footballer really they they could really like be so clinical when they need to be and we really saw that in those key moments and Brighton were able to to run away with the game in the end yeah it started with a bit of uh bad news for Brighton didn't it a very very heavy challenge by Jay Williams yeah it was it was a fiery game obviously as we probably expected for a derby which we've not seen in a capactive fixure since 1992 so I think probably the the players really did um get into that especially Williams who then really did go in for a late challeng really on he he was lucky to stay on the pitch really wasn't he when you see the replays he should have been sent off 100% he didn't even get a yellow which was pretty shocking cuz I think everyone could see how bad of a challenge it was and just such a shame for the New Brighton um man Matt oy who's um who's now probably going to be out for AIT lengthy period of time um it was a bit of concerning update from Herzel in the postmatch conference to say that um doesn't look good he can't put any weight on his on his ankle um and you can see that as he was walking off the pitch um at the time of the injury he didn't look didn't look too good good at all um so real shame to see that and obviously there was that late rad card as well Jack rolls um going in late on y aari as well so a couple of bad challenges from Cory's perspective and and Scotland did apologize postmatch for that um he said he didn't go out the players didn't go out with the intention to hurt anyone and he would apologize for anyone that has been badly injured yeah so yeah I mean like you say the score line does look like it was a battering but it wasn't Crawley really did themselves proud they had 55% possession I think and it's a what they normally do in games in League one so not many teams are going to come here and and dominate a sort of possession like that against Brighton are they but uh yeah no it a it was a shame it ended the way it did there was a lot of booze and there seemed to be a little bit fiery on the touch line but at the end of the day it was a good old Derby wasn't it it was it was it was a very entertaining game very entertaining game to watch and um yeah that's all you can ask for as a spectator but yeah just a shame about those those injuries and um fingers crossed m r is's not too badly hurt and we'll see him back in Action soon yeah excellent so um we got um we had the live blog going we've done player ratings we've got Herzel and Lindsay reaction up online at Sussex world.co co.uk go and give it a look thanks for joining us way
