Transcript of Sacramento State football 2024: 'Expect a show'

Well, the X Day football team has pretty much been the standard of excellence over the last five years, accomplishing way too many things for me to name in that span. Now, last season Andy Thompson became the new head Honcho and the Hornets didn't miss a beat. Now, Kevin into this season, sack state is ranked in the top 10 of the F CS preseason poll yet again. And their model this year is simple. Bring your best. Very exciting. We got a great group that worked really hard this off season. Then we added some new freshmen. Um, they've done a great job and they're all working on being connected. Uh, man, I'm excited. I think we put the work in, you know, uh, had a lot of fun over the off season, uh, just coming in with this group of guys and the coaches that we are, I think is gonna be really exciting just seeing, uh, the program come from what it was when I came in 2019 to now and the, the fans fill up, the stadium is very fun and it's a great environment to play in. I think we did a great job of building a roster that Sacramento is gonna be proud of and a lot of good character, kids love playing football that have a lot of talent and they decided to come to Sacramento State. And so our job is coaches is every day to try to bring the best out of them. Uh, we talk about swarm and love. We're always swarming to the ball and, uh, we just love being here and we're always doing things the right way. Coach Thompson instills that in us, day in and day out. He's a great leader and a great coach. Make it fun. You know, I think, I think like that's the biggest thing if we have fun out here, I think that's what you, you remember most. So just go out there and have fun and uh put on a show for everybody. We feel like if we bring our best, we've got enough talent that we can compete every single Saturday for as long as possible. Just come out this season. Uh come, come, enjoy. Uh We'll put on a lot of fun for you guys put on the show and, and uh go make it happen, make history for sure. What can the fans expect from you this year? Hey, you can expect a show. That's all I gotta say. Expect a show.
