excitement that uh you're finally gonna get this title shot yeah I feel very good very comfortable and um happy happy are you in Mexico right now or are you back in Las Vegas I am somewhere between somewhere between why did you decide to go down there like kind of right before the fight to finish up camp I saw you in one of the gyms and the videos of you you know dancing and everything why did you decide to do this at this point in the camp uh I want to training more boxing and uh I feel more comfortable with my boxing skills and um I want to change up a little bit and I want to be I want to spend more time in Mexico and then uh feel more Mexican you know eat more Mexican tacos and uh when I when I will represent Mexico I want to be uh more comfortable with myself I'm a little bit more Mexican the Shale so and then make make Mexican people proud that's it do you think on the night of the fight the crowd is going to be on your side uh I'm not sure because uh yeah the shal has some fans too and um but I know for sure like a lot lots of people wants to win me win this fight and like so many people I see the round everybody telling me to beat this guy beat this guy I don't know why they don't like uh this guy but uh uh we'll see you know I'm not sure who will be fan favor the night but um um but but after I will beat him I'm sure everybody will uh chair for me yeah and you mentioned you know you went down there to kind of work on the boxing a little bit uh I know Tim Welch Sean's coach of course like recently said an interview that there's no way in this training camp like you can make up the the ground and the difference in boxing um what do you kind of think of that do you feel like you've made improvements and do you think he's off base you know thinking you can improve your striking still even this close to the fight yeah I will uh because um listen I'm I'm a mixed martial artist and I have I have no problem to fight uh wherever fight go and um of course we all try to get better always you know I I always try to get better at boxing keepy boxing uh wrestling and uh that's why um that's why I'm winning and winning because I'm always getting better and um I believe um I'm getting better with striking but it's a MMA mixed martial art and I'm ready for fight everywhere wherever fight we go and then and uh yeah you guys will see now against me fighting against against stri you guys will see my more more more striking skills you know it's always so interesting in a matchup right this right where like you seemingly have such a big ground advantage and grappling Advantage but you don't want to force it in the fight right because that's where mistakes happen and you know things happen in the fights so when you go in there you know knowing that you're so much better than him probably in the wrestling in the ground how do you balance it with the game plan of knowing that you do want to strike too but also use it to work into your wrestling yeah the simple it's a mix martial arts and I will mix you know I will mix like I F josi Aldo I wasn't able to take him down but I I keep a strike and I beat Jos Aldo in Striking this is this is uh means a lot I don't know maybe some people forget but yeah I beat josi Aldo and I wasn't able to take him down and I I you know I'm a completely M martial artist and I can fight wherever I want and um um and yeah it's going to be easy simple man I'm I'm ready mentally and physically and um yeah like uh yeah yeah yeah does does it shock you to hear him say that you're not going to be the one to test is wrestling like he said that this isn't going to happen in this fight I'm sure you saw that quote like does that just seem kind of crazy to you actually not check me it's he that's his opinion he's comfortable that's what he Bel and uh yeah I I mean he's a proportional fighter and then he he believes what he believes and um that's that's that's his opinion but um uh we'll see I mean I'm like I said I'm ready for fight everywhere but you know it's mixed martial arts and I want to knock him out I want to uh prove my boxing and I want to show the everybody my striking skills but it's a mixed martial arts of course I'm going to use my wrestling and my my everything whatever I need to use I'm going to use everything to win this fight and uh yeah so I mean he's going to be tested for sure yeah the face looks good Mor Rob the face looks clean and everything but we know the cut and everything all that drama I just need to know because we haven't talked to you since like do you regret posting that video because Dana White was very critical a lot of people are critical of you posting your cut um what's kind of your response to all the negative backlash you got from posting that video I never I never regret what I did you know I did I post this and because I post everything in my social media and uh it wasn't big deal because I have more more than three weeks when I got cut and I know that my cut will take um 5 days to heal up and then and then this cut no no infect my training my sparing nothing and then as you see I'm heal up and everything is good and yeah um yeah yeah when I see then I was upset yeah of course like I I don't want to make upset then a white and UFC or do something like that but I was very calm and relaxed because it wasn't big deal and um I don't regret nothing you know this is who I am this is what I do and um this is my life you know that's why I'm a fighter and that's this is my life what I do and uh uh yeah so that's it yeah my opinion is you just maybe scared them a little cuz later in the scrum Dana was like if we have to change one fight on this card it's going to be like millions of dollars lost we know how much money they're putting in the production so I think maybe you just scared them a little bit yeah I think so then I understand I understand for sure I understand but like I said this is who I am this is what I do and I don't regret nothing you know like uh now everybody know everything is good and now it's even worked out better because that was just I guess more more people was panick and more more people paying attention before our fight and that's it you know yeah you can't get a doctor to take them out Mor rob you have to take them out with those big shears that's how I always do you know I get CAU all the time and I I I take stitches myself and it wasn't it was something like it was normal for me to like just take stitches out by myself and yeah yeah exactly like the I realized later it was big big big um season but first I was first when I Tred to take stitches out I was I was trying to take out with the knife but then knife wasn't cutting and then like to little pain Po and then I go inside and I grab the scissor what I have I'm sorry I don't have a small scissors and I don't have a I grab like like a kitchen scissor I don't care like I don't know whatever that's funny um just a couple more minutes here with you morab um I'm curious you know that sounds like this the fight the night of the fight it's going to be so crazy the production and everything and I don't know what you're going to be seeing when you're inside the cage of everything going on outside and the screens and stuff sounds like something you can't really prepare for right like you're not going to be in there training in the cage so I guess have they told you like what you can expect in the fight when it's like a different environment than you're used to outside the cage yeah they don't tell me what will be inside and like things like that but one thing I know and I'm comfortable with um uh what I will be there maybe it will be like bright screen and everything but shanal my opponent will be in same situation we both we both will be same same atmosphere and then um we both will be focus of each other and we you know I will have a shomal in front of me and then that's what I'm going to focus on and um I won't be distract with anything else and uh it's going to be different experience for sure but like I said we both will be same situation do you think uh if you win this fight I know like they're saying umarol will probably be next and I remember when they were trying to get you to fight him a few years ago you told me like I think that's a fight that'll make more sense when it's for the title when we're B both like at the top of the division so do you think that will be the right time or do you think if you beat Shawn they're going to try to give him a rematch because he's a big name so yeah like so our fight um so of course I'm believe myself and I'm going to win this fight but even whoever wins this fight I think next title fight deserved is um Davon pigero deserved to the fight for the belt um uh because pigero beat three former champ no he beat one former champion in this class and one title Challenger and he beat uh ra Fran and pigero is former champion and uh he he has big name and he deserved because Umar Umar he only beat Cory sangan from top 15 only one guy he beat from top 15 and why he deserved fight for the belt I'm not saying you know even if I want be Champion even he has to fight CH Mal he don't have to I don't think he deserves to fight for the belt you know that's my opinion that's my TR true answer you know piger deserved more that's if you want my opinion about that if Umar don't deserve fight for the Bel because we all know he was fighting nobody and he he got fight number two and now like why he deserved because pigero deserved more that's it that's my opinion no that's fair and just last thing uh you have taken the Hard Road PB here morab you did all the difficult fights the the challenging path to the Belt what is it going to mean to you on member 14th when Dana White wraps that title around your waist and you've accomplished this dream you've been working towards for so long he man I I've been every UFC Fighter's Dream Is Win UFC belt and I've been working so hard and I've been coming from long way uh but H like right now I'm not even dreaming about I want to feel organic everything me being and um I W to be I don't know what I'm gonna say what I'm gonna do but uh I will be so happy and uh I will do lots of great things with this belt I want to travel the world and um I want to visit um multiple countries and bring the Bel and enjoy with people then I want to show them I'm a regular guy I did this and if I did this you guys can do whatever you guys dream and whatever you guys working for so and uh I just and then I will I will I will be very released too because when you Champion you know you're not fighting next uh five months you know you have time and you kind of know your your your fight schedule like otherwise we don't know when I'm fighting I'm always training and I'm always in shape and I'm always ready for the call and um like I was like my last fight you know I was n sure if I was getting this fight and I was just training training training and ready and um I will know my schedule and I'll be I'll be like um traveling and I will enjoy with my Bel um with people
