Revamping the FedEx Cup: Match Play Bracket, LIV Connections, and BMW Predictions

this is the dop [Music] podcast Eric dude we're in it how are you let's do it brother let's do it how's your day going how's your week going dude we just came off a huge ass freaking weekend over at St Jude and you were you were there to be a part of it man like how's it freaking going it's uh it's going pretty awesome brother uh over to I went to St Jude Memphis I had a good time uh we'll definitely chat about it today move went over to Nashville during that time a little bit played Hermitage uh made my way to Johnson City to hang out with my boy Ty for a minute and now I'm in Chattanooga headed to Birmingham Alabama I'm going to go play with uh my buddy JD in the three Puck gang and get it in and actually I'm going to be in Denver next week I'm not going to make unfortunately I'm not going to make the BMW but I will be back in Denver I'm going to do a podcast and show the building and it'll be pretty exciting to to show it off and make some content that's sick well guys me and Eric are here we're ready to give you guys the best topics that we got D we came off a huge weekend you guys are chilling and doping in with the dope golf podcast you already know what's good um dude we had like I said Eric dude we had a huge freaking weekend of there dude we saw mat Yama just absolutely destroy the field coming in on Friday Saturday and then coming in on Sunday with the lead had a good front side and then just literally almost choked the whole tournaments the whole tournament after being up five freaking Strokes bro like what was happening to that guy bro he was literally in shambles bro it was crazy wild so the ending was crazy I mean I have some hard feelings towards it I don't think you PGA could say that they're all super great people like I'm be honest so over at 14 where maama went in the water uh bogied that hole and then I think he bogied 15 or double bogied 15 which made it interesting then came up 16 par and then 17 birdie 18 birdie but over on 14 matama went in the water and uh we weren't watching we were watching Sheffer come up on on uh 16 and after matama went in the water we heard a loud cheer so we're thinking oh crap like Mama's uh on the green this thing's over and then all of a sudden like three four guys come running over he's like there laughing and they were like oh maama went in the water he went in the water and as much as I'm going be honest I kind of wanted him to go in the water as well I wanted to see a playoff I wanted to see typ tournament I think everybody did bro especially for shley dog I mean that was insane because him him and matama were tied bro it was it was crazy so coming to an end and then yeah I mean he he just came in clutch and does does what matama does that's why you know he's an Olympian that's why or a medalist that's why he's won majors in the past yeah and his swing is is money I mean if you look at it it's very mechanical very honest very straightforward and he gets it done I saw I saw some hiccups and I also you got to give him props like I believe they lost or he didn't have his actual caddy with him bro so you got to take in account that this man goes wins the first week with a makeup caddy uh fill in Caddy his caddy didn't have his passport or something couldn't get over to Memphis I mean and then P [ __ ] pulls it out so yeah dude it was kind of insane because you see this guy he's like eighth in FedEx points and then jumps five spots and now he's in third bro so it's literally insane just to see how many points that'll literally jumpy because they gave him like what like 2,000 FedEx points just from winning that event I think that's how much they give for that event but like but like regular PGA events they give out 500 600 Max I think yeah there's some heightened events that do 600 there's some lower events that do I believe three or 400 um then the average does like 500 however yeah the Fed X does does it I mean I can't I can't hate on the points and I actually got some questions about it I think we should get into uh is the playoffs is the structure of the playoffs correct like I I kind of see there could be a restructure in the playoffs it's a little weird I know that Scotty Sheffer has talked about it in the last week how it's not his favorite however I'm not quite agreeing with with his his his thought process on where should go yeah I see a different side I'm kind of wondering what you think and what your side I think it's a little confusing I think I think it the whole points thing you have to be really up on the points and in in order to know who's going where what it's kind of it's going I mean yeah like you're saying bro I mean going I mean it just makes it really confusing for like that just like an average golfer like that shoots in the 90s or hundreds to understand even what's going on when they're watching TV because when look at it you're not really worried about FedEx points you're just trying to see who's on the leaderboard because nobody really pays attention to FedEx points until it comes to playoff time and then you see your top guys right and so guys really I mean just to go away from me and Eric talking like just going to you guys really what the FedEx is it's just like it's a accumulated amount of points based off of how many like the way you place or or like how many tournaments you win Etc like a whole bunch of crazy stuff but it gives you a certain amount of points depending on how important the tournament is right so going into this we're going into the St Jude event they just changed it they take the top 70 players uh to go into a uh to go into a playoff and they have three uh they have three tournaments so they got the St Jude I explained this on my story on Instagram they got the St Jude they have the BMW and then they got the Tour Championship so top 70 goes to St Jude the top 50 after that tournament goes to the BMW and then the top 30 uh after the BMW goes to to her championship and there's a lot of points being placed out there so like let's say the number one guy in the world sheffler let's say that he doesn't compete in the St Jude he kind of has to but let's say he just gets in dead last right and then he gets dead last in the BMW he would actually be eliminated probably from the top 30 so that way he wouldn't be able to compete you know initially like saying if he got last in both tournaments it's GNA be very hard for him to do that but but he's the I will say this though he is the exception he's so far ahead I see his points right now 6,500 oh yeah yeah yeah yeah 6500 8,000 is projected yeah and I see maama after winning is up to 3,800 so even after winning like there's no way Scotty shuffler is going anywhere and that actually brings up my question and I this is tough because because it gets heightened and gets more extreme too than even what you were saying so you go top 70 go to St Jude based on points within the St Jude and the points throughout the year the accumulation of the two now you have to be in the top 50 to go to the BMW which is in in Colorado the same dude is kind of is worth is basically worth four tournaments like dead ass like if you win that thing it's worth four tournaments because you'd get 2,000 points I mean that's just because because I mean looking at it here is like if Scotty wins the if Scotty wins the BMW or let's say he gets somewhere near the Tour Championship they're getting at least 2,000 to 1500 points if they win that event you know what I'm saying so like that's just kind of where they're getting at so like it's what I was saying earlier like like the say like you're like in at least the top if you're in the top 10 I mean the chance of you getting eliminated is not likely whatsoever but if you don't play in the two tournaments that well like say Rory he just went to second to dead last and let's say he does it again I mean I get if he has an accumulation of points it go ahead everybody but like like I said it's rare for the top 10 to ever get eliminated but there are people that that if they play bad they they can have the chances of getting out of the Tour Championship run very easily yeah I you know some of them catch up you have Bubble Boy like but you gotta think Bubble Boy like uh Keegan Bradley so he was on the bubble he's 50th place he's going to make it over he's gonna make it over to the BMW however I mean he's gonna have to he's gonna have to play swell I don't know you know I'd have to look at the points points for what the BMW offer especially not top 10 but he needs to acrw 300 points or he's gone and I mean it's you got to play play well this is it's tragic well I mean you saw Tom Kim get eliminated just now by one spot like that just shows you because Tom Kim was in the top he was in the top 40 for a long time and then after you know and then I don't know he's just kind of been on a down slope you know the last three tournaments he's played in it's just I don't know if the Olympics got to him after you know after uh after not completing that because now he has to win a major or an Olympic medal just to get out of having to go into the military right right so I don't know which is wild I mean he's a 20 he's what 22 21 he's only got like a couple years you do have to consider how big of a deal that is though that's so crazy like we're talking Korean we're talking Korean uh military we're talking he has to go over there every male at the age of 18 has to go into the military over there he got yeah he got he got he got an exemption here's the deal he got an exemption uh there's I've heard Through the Wire and I I I know exactly who it came from but he got an exemption for like 10 to 15 years so I'm not saying he's going to have to go be on the front lines it's kind of like see same way with him the same thing they're out is literally to get an Olympic gold which I think that's really their only out I don't even know if a major they have to win Majors no yeah think a major does it the reason they're doing it for the Olympics is because he's winning it for his country you know what I mean the yeah you win a gold you win it for your country I think I don't I really don't think the majors are are an exempt from the military for now I could be completely wrong however I heard this was like the option so really he's got maybe two more chances uh Olympic wise to exempt himself but um that is a lot of pressure kind of I'm not 100% but but it says that like that it says that if they get an Olympic gold or uh some type of like Asian medal like from the from the Asian Games or like Asian tour I think that's the only way they get exempt there it's self I mean you gota think the mil or the look their country has this law I'm not W to question their law they do what they want he is that I know he lives here but he's on some kind of Visa he's not a fullon uh true I think I'm pretty sure he lives in Dallas he's not a full-on citizen he's still living on a Visa so yeah you know if he become became a citizen then that changes everything but I mean I can't threet on the law but I do know that there's selfish in that he has to win a medal basically for the country not a major is just for him but you know a Asian game or the Olympics yeah is for the country and then now the country gets honor or whatever and then that would then exempt him um whatever but I do see and that's where we're kind of going with it is it is a lot of pressure and he is coming off a lot of pressure and it sucks to see him not get a medal for that I mean they they just have to earn a medal dude that that's it he got close but that's a that's I feel like that's more pressure than than some of the people that compete in there even though they're just competing for their country they go back home you know some of them might have a different you know some other countries might have the same rule or whatnot but let's say if you're like a United States citizen going in to play the Olympics for golf you're not I don't feel like you're having as much pressure as Tom cim or see Kim going into that just having to win a because your life can change severely like not having to go into the military and continuing to play golf you know what I mean so like that's just it's just such a huge [ __ ] not a [ __ ] towards them like I'm to I'm totally for the culture like I get it it's their thing you do your thing it's a [ __ ] in his head tell you this I I'm a disabled veteran I'm a veteran I was in the military I'm not saying our military is their military completely different things and I what I do know is they're very like organized and they look like Honor Guard kind of they all do the right High Step and [ __ ] together or whatever but um you know they're not fighting like they're not fighting like we are we're entering our Richard into every country we can because we're the PowerHouse and Korea is not doing that they you know have this is South Korea too North Korea is the one with all the the funky [ __ ] no seriously yeah I don't even know I mean but but I mean they but but I mean like they you know you got North Korea right next door to him anyways but yeah dude so it's so unfortunate for him to like have that on his shoulders I mean it sucks I mean because I mean like we said it's just a lot of pressure that's on the shoulders and I know that if I was in that situation I'd probably be like have the highest of nerves walking up to that first tea box or or like even if it let's say you were like closing around for a medal you know that I would literally be having the shakes up there you know what I mean and that's that's what's just kind of crazy and then you just see his uh I don't know it's it's it's crazy to see and then you see his good old buddy Scotty shuffler just take the gold medal and dude after a massive comeback you know so for Tom Kim bro I think I think he just needs to get advice from Scotty they seem like very good friends I feel like a good pep talk or a good conversation would really help when it came to nerves or anything like that I think Scotty would just point him more to Christ you know pray about it and [ __ ] like that but I also feel like he can give some good advice on the on the uh mind set of that you know what I'm saying pray and [ __ ] that's that's how I pray I was like hey please and [ __ ] like fix this for youe I don't really I don't really do that you know I everyone forgiveness and love bro I know it's just the way you said it and U yeah but I mean it's I'm not gonna get yeah like that's trust me I've been in I've been in actual War where we're getting shot at and I'm like I'm not even very you know religious but you're sitting there kissing your ass thinking please yeah God help me you know what I mean like whether or not you show it or you put on your GI Joe shorts or whatever some don't some do but uh all deep down we're like Miss H yeah know I mean like [ __ ] Miss but I do take that I take that to the course though you know uh I may not be the best player but what I have taken from my military and I think one of the reasons that I push for military and all that kind of thing from me and my business in the system is there's there's things and techniques that we that we learned as military and veterans that are actually helpful in golf and it's right you know uh I use like the shooting system aim breathe trigger squeeze like those are like three main components and right you know I think about that process when I'm about to hit the golf ball it's one of the reasons why I don't even practice swing or anything it's uh my thought process is just so simple I've learned the mechanics and it's one of the reasons I highly advise people going to get lessons and that kind of [ __ ] is because you need to have the straight mechanics and then for me it's going into like a nothing box like the man box that the women hate it's yeah going to that nothing box where like my brain is empty cuz I'm super add like squirrel you know and uh uh if I can get into my nothing box and I just let my mechanics take over it's when you know my brain gets involved that right my [ __ ] starts and I think it's just one of those thing like it there's a lot of things that the the veteran Community or military Community uh can take advantage of within the golf system and it's just uh I'm not say I'm not saying that's gonna but I'm not saying that's gonna help Tom Kim either though no not at all but I mean you also but you also get like a good good bonuses from it you know just being in the military you get in events for free I believe right is that right yeah that's actually I'm glad you said that because I'm thankful that's actually for all those that think I'm traveling around all rich style like I'm straighten days in right now with the lights out front shining that say free internet and you know when you're standing in a place that says free internet out front you know that [ __ ] cheap as hell also um that's like kind of like it's like the the hooker Batman sign you know like there's a free internet neon out in front of the hotel you know like there's definitely a hooker or a drug dealer on the corner uh look out dude right next whatever they're right next door to you hey hey bro I always ask for the bottom floor give me an Escape Route and I'm good to go bro [ __ ] uh I've been on this trip far too long to be uh Marriott Bon boy or like Hilton Honors type [ __ ] unless one of them fools want to sponsor me or uh netjets wants to get on hey somebody sponsor Eric bro get a bus let's let's get me some netjets contracts and a [ __ ] Marriot uh sponsor so I could be like so I 12 pack and it' be good dude 12pack I just need yeah like I don't know the Total Beverage or what's what's around but um I only need a sixpack like I don't even bust it like that anymore dealership yet um I'm still going through the things in in that stuff but I am headed back to Denver for the first time in a couple months I can see my son in the first couple times what I don't know what I was saying I get to see my son for the first time in a couple months and uh it's funny because actually last last episode I was like hey buddy if you're listening uh go kill it but I think as a good dad I should be like Alex don't [ __ ] listen to this podcast dad says no you know what I mean like don't do it uh just accept all the favors and the good things that come of being golf but uh you know I am Pro kids golfing but am probably less Pro listen to me [ __ ] cuss a lot so yeah especially for the podcast whether we have it dude I mean yeah we're cussing a little bit on here I teach a youth program though so I have to I have to watch what I say but that's that's for damn true but I can I can say these small cuss words bro but but there is like you know there's some there's still some only fans chicks out there teaching or something you know they're still you don't have to share everything with everybody they're like uh yeah anyway you know live your own life as long as it it's seeing that H going from 19th to uh let's see what place did he go to going from 19th to 47th in FedEx points bro how feel dude dude hom was literally in the in the slot right now and then going from 19 to 47 Just Hits hard after coming like in dead last like after just grinding it out all season and then just going straight from 19 to 47 bro that sounds horrendous dog horrendous that sucks um my question is where did Victor hin end up after that that really details so Victor moved up to 16th so that shows you how much points it's worth he kind he was he was deep he was deep in the 50s and we were I was talking [ __ ] and he showed up he lost by a 9 foot putt brother that sh should have gone to playoff um he can't he becomes a stud at playoff time Victor hland is the FedEx and uh you should watch out for him anytime he makes the top 70 every year it's pretty apparent other than the fact that he missed that 9 foot putt i s I was standing there on 18 I saw it it was the most let down I've ever seen a bunch of orange Ricky Fowler looking dudes I've ever seen in my life you'll always see them always okahoma state that Oklahoma State let down they look like a bunch of sad pumpkins and yeah I felt bad but because I wanted to see coming soon PA's coming soon it is but he's that's where I'm getting to is he's a stud brother he's a stud at this time and you know what let's be honest Scotty sheffler's not he's a stud all year he's showed it the last couple years he's been a major stud during the year and he has missed by holding that number one spot two other times and he holds that number one spot now he does get that handicap but he's shown weakness at this time of year he he plays a lot like a shoot what's a like the Cowboys bro he's like a cow he's like the Cowboys of of golf dude you're talking about Scotty right yeah I am talking about Scotty I'm not going to call him gay like the Cowboys but I am going to say that's you know no offense no offense people I apologize I won't use the GW I think that might be pushing the limit but I don't even know I don't even know these days but what I will say is he's kind of like the Cowboys of golf and yeah brother they've been killing it the last two years the Cowboys have with you know Dak and all them and what do they end up doing in the playoffs they [ __ ] the bed chokes choke artist and that is kind of Scotty Sheffer he is kind of that guy well what sucks is that like when you go into the Tour Championship uh when you go into the Tour Championship guys they base it off of giving the the person that's in first minus 10 and then they give what's the what's the second guy like they like as they as they go on through the places they deteriorate how many and I think it's terrible I think it's terrible I really don't think we should have it we we'll still go there but this is what it is this year Scotty gets minus 10 second place gets minus8 yeah the third place gets minus 6 so the first two slots get that plus two and then from then on out it's 5 4 3 2 one no that's what I'm getting at yeah that's what I'm saying so like so like when people when people determine the stats based off of what we have from this year to like let's say tiger year right so just started doing that minus [ __ ] literally like three years like no more than three years ago more like five or six years ago I can't really tell an exact time but they give the first place guy a certain amount of Strokes they give the second place guy a certain amount of strokes and deteriorate that as it goes on based off your placement right so it's kind of impossible for the person and last to get to the person in first now the last person to win and and to uh to have the old system was actually Tiger Woods and Justin Rose won the FedEx right because they did that based off of Point still so we still do points but they said [ __ ] it we're not going to have two winners we're going to have the one and then just make it like a minus stroke thing now there's a lot of conclusions based off of like whether people like that or not I'm a guy where I was like I wish we kept it the old way because I like seeing the two winners just like okay you got a tournament winner let's see and then next thing you know what if a guy that was like backed by so many strokes wins both of them right now you got two Hardware trophies in your fist dog like I love that but this going let me let me finish going to your point it is it is unfair it is unfair that Scotty Doesn't get or it is UN it's well it it sucks for Scotty because he's in the eror where it was in the minus points in the last two times that he lost in a row the last two years in a row he's been at number one and then lost those where during the minus times right like where it gives in minus 10 Strokes at start but it also shows that hey buddy you got to show up and be a stud and you can't choke you got to show what you've been doing all year so like at the end of the day I mean it's just like last year I think it was year before Justin Thomas you know uh you know Scotty lost to Rory marroy in the FedEx and then and then just Thomas goes up to Scotty and he goes he goes you're number one my man you're number one bro don't even worry about it dog everybody knows you're number one but it still shows Rory mroy 2023 uh FedEx Champion you know so it's unfortunate it is all right this is where I'm about to rant this is my thing this is how I'm gonna I'm gonna like I like to compare golf to the football I know it's not a uh battle like they're not headon colliding and that kind of thing but here is my thing I like the NFL playoffs I like bracket style I like making the playoffs earning your spot it happens in that's I think this was one of the things that could make golf more of a sport more competitive more interesting it's creating this bracket style what do March Madness who watches other than dieh hard basketball fans who watches college basketball during the year nobody does bro that's why that's why nobody Madness but March Madness comes guess what happens the bets start happening and people start watching I love brackie I think you go down check it and let's bracket this [ __ ] now Scotty gets now there's four players that get a by week right in the into the bracket or eight players or whatever the bracket ends up up I think you make it a 64 team or or whatever the bracket tells you to make instead of 70 and then you start squaring foes up let's [ __ ] break down a match play or something yeah dude let's match play bracket down to the let's lowy bracket down to the the win let's [ __ ] go let's see some competitiveness it don't have to be Ridder cup but guess what more people watch Rider cup we like that style play we like play but this is this is where you can kind of combat that same that that little that little thing that or little idea that you got right there is that all year you play stroke play but then you go into match play right so it's just like you're GNA have a lot of Confrontation coming from that but I like the idea bro like that's what I'm saying like I I want that to happen like that sounds so [ __ ] dope they should do that for one year like just test [ __ ] out bro pull it from pull it from a bucket or something at the end of the day as a golfer and here's my rebuttal on that the end of the day as a golfer it's not even you vers anybody else brother it's you verse the course every single time you play it's you but then it is you against somebody it is but it's still you versus the course you got to beat that [ __ ] but you better play your best round and earn it that's that's all I'm saying earn it so this is so look I want to see I I want to see uh it broken down you can you can um I don't know how you'd get them in divisions and this is where the bracket gets hard because you don't want to play number two against number 70 no it's like like you're kind do though I don't know dude I don't know it it you're just you're just as [ __ ] out of luck being 70th Place going in the playoffs and and trying to make this system as you would be in that system at least in that system it's one V one and you [ __ ] still have a shot to [ __ ] clear house dude you still could be U State [ __ ] team or whatever or you could still be the Pittsburgh Steelers of that one year where they came back with rbur uh that big [ __ ] quarterback and won you know uh you still got a shot and that's like the that's like the NFL playoffs yeah this is where it's broken down into divisions and that it puts um you know 2 V8 or 1 V7 and it breaks down from there but I mean that could be something you could put in the beginning of the year you could be an international um division you could be east coast and a West Coast because there's plenty of people in Dustin and there's plenty of people in uh you know California or whatever and I mean you could break it down that way you could break it down um by score or amount of wins there there's there's a way to break it down and I think it's possible and I don't know that's that's the style I like and what I'm saying for before before you before you take over because before I lose this train of thought I think that this would bring the people it's like politics dude whatever they say cool blah blah blah but you need people and you need people stacked to grow the game right I think PGA does this they dominate live they take over a new style I think you retract some of the live play or the live one I think you gain attention from these people that moved right because that's baller dude like in my opinion you you create a gambling system cuz let's also be honest without gambling bro Sports don't really exist bro back in the day it barely had would exist now like Vegas runs the show homie without without that kind of system or without that kind of um bro it's all about winning people like to see winners like and it's based on the urge to gamble or to want to be choose the right team or get behind somebody why do why do people follow Scotty sheffler it's because they want to see him win and that's who the guy they like and that's they want to be there when that dude wins and [ __ ] I don't know I'm I'm on to something bro I'm the goddamn Aline this I would say I would say that you're on to something dude because plenty of things experiment with that just like D1 college bro because the vision one college they literally do it where their team plays other teams in a certain in the match play format after all year they've been doing stroke so I can kind of see where you're at with that now now going to that point do I think that match play do I think that match play is a bad idea no I don't think it's a bad idea at all I think if you have the 70th the 70 the 70th guy going against the number one seed I I think that yeah it gives the 70th guy a chance to get in there what flight do you put him in you know what I'm saying because then you got to split everybody up in the flight so it yes it does give them a chance but going from my experience doing and pretty much just match play my whole freaking life doing it with high school college and then doing just regular match you know out for qualifiers USM qualifiers and stuff like that it's it's it's a different it's a different format you know what I'm saying it's a different ballp part because because you're not because you're gonna have to play a lot of [ __ ] rounds to to figure out how you're gonna how you're gonna get to the number one guy at the at the course you know what I'm saying like are you just going to do the last four days uh I mean what can you do four rounds so that's four matches 16 you going to say the last 16 people show up at the FedEx and then they're just going to play match play I mean like I'm not dissing it at all I think it's a [ __ ] fun I think it's a great freaking idea but how can you get that to be like but but listen well listen hold up I got plenty of [ __ ] more for you I got plenty of [ __ ] I'm run away I'm a talker I can't help it I wrot I wrote this [ __ ] down bro I wrote this [ __ ] down I got plenty of [ __ ] right here for you Eric okay so it it's one you lose the sales Poss just I mean they do it they experimented with one tournament already where they do the match right so then you figure out placement I guess within it but then again you get down to the one guy and then whoever's going to play the two guy you know what I'm saying in that last match so it's a lot of people that are going to be flooding up the course and then I mean I'm not saying it's going to be an issue I think that would be a great idea but I just don't see how it would uh come through because you just plus I feel you get a lot of players complain saying that you know we play stroke all year that's what we're playing at we don't practice match you only do that once a year so that's that's kind of where it would be different at but like I said dud division one college tries all of that [ __ ] now this is what I do think that the PGA could do like how you were getting at trying to transfer to the Liv T like you're getting all these guys leaving they're going to team match play they also have the option to do individual kind of like uh kind of like Anthony Kim I think uh Anthony Kim you know doing his thing over there on the LIF having having being individual I think Brooks isn't even on a team either right no Brooks owns the smash an Anthony a free agent he'll be on a team next year he did come up he has played some good tournaments he has looked better uh he's but wait but wait get my Point's a ticket he's a ticket getting to my point he is a freaking ticket bro I think that's why a lot of people want to come because everybody wants to see his story you know but going to that bro I think that the PGA can actually should get away from the old ways and if you guys want to evolve if you want to get modernized you can't do it with technology you can't do it with with your players I mean but listen you can't do it techology you can't do with your players you have to change the format so how do you do that you get captains you kind of copy the live you go into team format and that's how you keep your players and then you give a certain amount of Team a certain amount of wages I mean you get I mean dude you get mostly volunteers at your [ __ ] tournaments all of them were pretty much volunteers except the police like literally dude everybody wants to just be at the tournament and just help just to watch golf you know and and that's that's what some people don't get so like what is the PGA doing with that money I mean I get it you got Grand stands and all this [ __ ] but dude you're making billions of doll a year not only off of not off of like not only off of live TV but you're getting a ton of people from the community to come in and watch this event so like and each ticket isn't like 20 bucks dude it goes for like $80 a ticket bro each day you have four days like if you think about it that filling up a football stadium you're filling up a football stadium twice at that point you know depending on your event but like I said I think I'm going deep into it I think the PGA should should transfer into a team format if to get out of that add let me add one thing that I noticed okay yeah I went to the event there wasn't that many people in Memphis that I thought there would be Memphis I don't think is an ideal location I think Memphis should change I think the I like St Jude I like St Jude and I think that's a great charity and I think you gotta go to Nashville chatt dud should be a tournament there but I think it should go to Nashville I think it should go The Grove I think it should go to Hickory uh that would be there plenty there's plenty of better spot to go to and more people I saw you go to Nashville especially bro all the the Nashville Titans and [ __ ] the football teams there a hella good Community bro the Tennessee the Tennessee Titans and I will say this there were way more people at the live tournament than I saw at the PGA St Jude so anybody who wants to talk smack on that I can guarantee you there was more people at the live Nashville than there it's interesting everybody wants to see it bro they offer so much more their tickets their tickets are almost the same price but like maybe a little bit more expensive just barely maybe like 10 to 20 bucks but you experience so much more bro there's literally live music DJ Memphis ghetto memphis's ghetto is dude I know star basketball player is a is a gang uh is a shooter and he fancy Memphis the he's a sick ass player he's one of the G's dude he's plays basketball does what he's supposed to do that man's a g and I game but I will hate on like you're a super uh Superstar and you have a bunch of kids that look up to you and you shouldn't be stuck in that 9 mill you should have a security team to do that for you homeboy and uh if you have to be in a situation where you need that you're in the wrong situation brother accidents happen or or bad things happen uh in certain places but it do it's not very often brother you have to kind of put yourself in that position and it's uh usually based on some bad choices you know what I'm saying that's anyway I I don't think Memphis is the spot it's ghetto it's not chill for the patrons like that shit's whack they got good ass barbecue I'll give them that [ __ ] corn dogs are fire the corn dogs are fire but I think it should just be a tournament during the year at FedEx I don't think that time of year is right there it's super humid we are lucky to get a little weather this time but uh I think it could be an earlier in the year uh place to go St Jude will still get their donations and their looks because that's where it's headquarters is but it uh let's move that thing to Nashville let's move that thing to uh Florida or Dallas or you know what the PGA has their uh brand new home headquarters in in right there in Dallas dude why are they not playing there for that yeah like that's my question that don't make sense or there's whole PGA thing down there in what near Orlando or near uh Fort Lauderdale or whatever and like why is it not I that's just my question I think it's wild I yeah anyway I mean I don't know I don't know yeah I mean we both don't know who who like coordinates the uh the schedule for that [ __ ] but I definitely don't think it should have been in Memphis just like you said bro we should have we should have carried that [ __ ] into freaking Nashville dog not even gonna lie to you bro or even like or even check it and I I don't this is maybe a little too party but since Waste Management isn't isn't a major and it brings so much attention you know how much money you would get if you brought you brought the first FedEx Cup to waste management like I'm just saying are you talking about the Tour Championship yeah I'm just saying not the actual TOUR Championship East Lake whatever dude I still don't even think that's the spot in my opinion either but I will say I'm not gonna lie it's really it's I will say could you imagine waste management and then you they could jack the prices a little bit being a Vex Cup Tournament I think that's what's so nice about it though is that it's not well I mean the tickets are jacked already but that's also that's also a question that I would have is like why don't yeah no but that's the question also that I would have it's just like why don't they have Playoffs being like the waste management or the players you know what I mean like why don't they just have it later on the year it could it could be with the club it could be that the club just doesn't want to maybe there's too many people I don't know but I mean it's just like if I were a club I'd want to host that [ __ ] any day of the year you know what I mean especially in this time you know what I'm saying because Arizona is always just going to look like Arizona at that the end of the day you know what I mean because but if you have an Atlanta like dude I'm from the Georgia area and I've been to I've been to the FedEx Cup the Tour Championship plenty of times and the course is in great condition don't get me wrong but there are plenty of other courses that could host it that could be better without a doubt you know what I'm saying I mean the place is absolutely beautiful and it puts up a hard like you know as a hard course you know what I'm saying but Atlanta is kind of like a weird selection that I thought people would want to put the Tour Championship now I'm I grateful that it's there hell yeah dude I had the best time of my life over there it's a fun tournament it's a fun event but I feel like they could have found somewhere maybe a little bit more like dude you know what I'm saying like a little bit more exclusive that could have been a better I I don't know how to explain like I guess a host or you know just having or just switch it every year you know what I'm saying like switch to spot possibly what about why do you think they will have a tournament at in in Missouri at Payne's Valley is it not set up for for that is it not I just qu cuz I guess the 19th is really an actual hole but uh like it's the 19th Hole or whatever and I guess the 20th one you drank there or some [ __ ] but um yeah you would think something like that or is that too much of a resort course to where it's not possible I'm just kind of Milling through my head where it could go I think I mean East Lake's private as [ __ ] I mean it's corporations that are that are usually members there anyway you know so maybe maybe it's the private Factor so let's take this to another sector of conversation let's go back to Colorado I think it's an interesting choice for the FedEx Cup and here's why elevation dog that [ __ ] sits at like 6,500 feet and international is crazy and do you know what the ball flies like for them [ __ ] pros at 6500 feet versus um zero or a thousand or whatever the hell at sitting at and um I mean for me it's a 20 yard drive you know what I mean and for them it's excessive and then the clubs you really have to go there and GAP your [ __ ] because it's not 20 yards for a driver and it's and 20 yards for a 60 degree wedge that that phys or whatever the flight distance based on the the angle of the club and all the [ __ ] you know [ __ ] that I don't I should know I if you wrot if we wrote it on paper I would have figure it out but what I'm not going to do is that and I knew and it's definitely different from hitting a 60 it's you know like a six to five to six yard difference and with the driver it's more like a 20 yard distance right they have to go there and GAP that because I mean this tournament means a whole lot and they don't play in Colorado a lot they don't play at this elevation a lot I mean well I mean you see plenty of other sports I mean it's I mean you get different teams every time you play but you see different you know different sports also alternate between stadiums ballparks uh you know different areas so I mean could that be a potential thing that they could do in the future sure because maybe sometimes people just get tired of seeing the same course you know the same year but also then again it does make it special because you see it all the time and you want to be able to play there you know what I'm saying so I guess it would help the course out as well I mean Robert Trent Jones uh had a huge factor to going into that course in that area you know built it from the ground up in the worst area possible so I mean it's kind of fit in the name you know what I'm saying but the community is kind of on a rise where it is uh you know from back then but I think it would be a good idea to kind of switch it up you know just to kind of maybe make a transition or test something out you know what I'm saying like just use a test dummy here I mean you don't have nothing to lose at this point because I mean you're already losing players here's the thing I think the Super Bowl in every Major League or or uh Pro Sport um even in soccer or football or whatever the hell they call it over there yeah um they move it every time everywhere and I think G should do the same thing I think it's tired and boring there I think the same people go and get this lottery or whatever or just pay that amount I don't even think I know people in Atlanta and I'm not saying I love my boy ATL and all them but they've been before but it's just like a natural thing like they're sitting there we're sitting there on the couch and they're deciding whether they're going to go or not because it's 80 to $100 or whatever and uh but you move it to another state and you have people who have never been there before because it wasn't a travel option and right now these golfers are like not sitting on the couch deciding whether they should go or not it's fighting for tickets and that's the difference I think it I think change of venue is dope I think people who have played the Tour Championship u a bunch of times also have a oneup versus the dudes who haven't played it before the upand comers like Berg hasn't played that [ __ ] near as much as [ __ ] Rory maroy has I mean so tell me that they have the same Advantage like that's an additional handicap basically like yeah I mean love and seven right now not the same like he's he's in a like he's not he's in away game not only is he Norwegian or whatever what what is he I don't know I or what Swedish all right [ __ ] or no it's not Swedish no it's uh yeah Norwegian yellow one yeah anyway Norway uh bro he don't have the same there's no [ __ ] way that he has the same it's an away game not only is he an international player and I think you could consider moving it over there at one point because I think it would [ __ ] sell out Spain goes crazy when they [ __ ] have tournaments there uh Australia goes crazy when they have tournaments there anywhere obviously over Dude anywhere I think if he had it overseas that would be pretty crazy it's an away game here and any new guys it's an away game when they're at the Tour Championship or maybe they should or maybe they should have it like who wins the writer cup or who wins the president uh President's Cup they have it in Europe or they have it in the United States you know what I'm saying that's sick for like two years whatever kind of like National League American League you know what mean so the ryer cups every two years or whatever and president cups every year but then like whoever wins the Ryder Cup you get it for two years that's sick that be pretty tough would not that's I like that yep that's tough I like that that adds so much more Val yo that adds so much value bro it does it does I feel like I feel like it really does man instead of uh I mean they switch it out they switch it out every two years anyway going from the United States to Europe you know so it's tired of then you have Golf Championship right because this could be the PGH sector but then this is the connection between I feel like is you I feel like you really have to go with team play though because I let say it's just like in college when you're playing for districts or if you're doing in high school you're playing for districts right so like let's say your team doesn't make it to the state championship right but your one individual did from the tournament because he qualified from shooting in the top whatever it is you know what I'm saying you can differentiate that you know what I'm saying so like if you win or if you get in the top certain placement as an individual you get to be qualified into the championship as an individual you know what I'm saying they have plenty of those in college and they do still they still do the same where they do team stroke play you know what I'm saying they you just figure out what team win out of the championship right you can still do that you can still keep the stroke format but dude it's just like I was saying earlier that just expands on what I was trying to say with the team play whole [ __ ] is that you can go into it at that way just do strokes you know you qualify based off of what your team shoots and then you know team's get eliminated or they stay in you know what I'm saying or you give a certain amount of Team Strokes or some [ __ ] I don't know they can figure it out but if you want but if your team does not qualify that's how you can put yourself in as an individual into the tournament you can do Liv does that all the time already you know what I'm saying they give award to the team and they give award to the individual guy you know but do you throw the value at being more team play do you my thing is do you throw more value at the team player or do you throw it at the individual play I don't know I guess it's for the crowd to decide but I feel like that's where we just kind of have to evolve dude you play you play team play your whole life as a kid nowadays you know what I'm saying so I I mean the people that that only played Without I mean I can't I can't tell you a person that hasn't played that's that's in there like their 80s or their older age now that has that played High School golf you know they didn't play individual they played team you know what I'm saying like we've been doing
