it's not too old of news for our viewers but um did you guys watch yet on Netflix the Connor stallions Untold sign stealing program documentary I did not watch it I took it in the other night there Kurt all right well I obviously watched it too um so our Michigan fans here watched it Trent the Ohio State Buckeye didn't watch it yet yet um try if you ever do watch it we'd love to get your two cents on it um unfortunately this is going to probably be a pretty biased segment here then um I assume the whole episode's pretty biased actually that's the crazy thing is I heard somebody give their analysis of it and they said that basically like either like and let's be honest there's two sides there's the Michigan fan base and the Ohio State fan base Maybe some Michigan State fan base too on that side of the aisle but someone explained it pretty well it's almost like you can walk away from it and if you're a Michigan fan you walk away and you're like okay um you know I get it I thought that was pretty fair but the same can be said for the other side of the aisle too the Ohio State uh fans they can kind of walk away saying yeah that was pretty fair that was not biased um and I think if you watch it you can kind of see kind of what what they're saying but anyway Big Mo what what uh what did you think well obviously it is a it is a Michigan side bias but I do I mean without really knowing I don't think it looked that bad for Michigan but again that's without without really knowing maybe exactly all the Truths Behind it all you know he they painted it in a pretty I think in the best like they could that he was doing something that everybody else was already doing and he probably took it to another whole level because of just who he is and how sophisticated he went with it it still sounds like I mean he was kind of without maybe without answering one of those NCA questions in the end yeah he in reality it doesn't sound like he went to games and pre scouted in person yeah he didn't no yeah no besides State Central well you know I still don't think that was him so um I'm gonna stick with that that Trent in in the documentary this is what's funny too is he said it wasn't him or or what did he say or I don't remember something that I thought that was like clearly him wellow what's funny is Dave porno had had a quite a bit of air time in the video in the movie and he was pretty good in it too but he he he said that Conor stallion told him it was him no but but they so I I happen to catch bar sty other night yeah whatever I don't know which one but por they were asking poror about it foro about it and he said they had asked like 10 questions in a row and that was his supposed to be his response to all those questions oh so he so he really never really told him oh they asked him I guess is part of the the the video itself was they asked him like where were you when Kennedy was shot you know and then he responded with that same line that he used as oh that was Conor stallion there really yes so was it some BS editing then yes yeah yeah yeah yeah that so it was not it wasn't it wasn't him I don't think that's that's what I took from it well and here's the thing is that LeBron James Miss Ohio State fan was one of the producers of the program so oh really yes yes he producer yeah it said it right at the end um a fake Ohio State fan yeah um you know here's another thing I think that it is very very very likely now based on what we saw in that documentary that nobody else besides Conor stallions knew what Conor stallions was doing um outside of his partner the booster that was funding it all right because all these tickets had to be purchased you really believe that though yeah I think I think and you would Pro if you watch the documentary you you'll probably understand what I'm saying is his job so basically he he was he was the sign Steeler when he was at Navy so he went to Navy he wanted to get involved in football coaching they gave him a spot on the staff and his job was to steal signs which is 100% legal right there's what makes it illegal is when you advance Scout and and videotape the games or the sidelines and go about stealing the signs that way okay that's what's illegal well so Conor stallion you know he always wanted to coach at Michigan he met one of the coaches at a coaching clinic and the guy's like sure you know come by my office we'll see what we can do he shows up he's like hey when I was at Navy I was a sign stealer and up to that point Michigan was way behind the times and they weren't doing that they weren't stealing signs and everybody else was again perfectly legal no one was breaking any rules Michigan was just for some reason not doing it at that point so they gave the job to Conor stallions and he was the best at it you the the the documents that he put together the spreadsheets that he put together the way he went about it unreal probably the best in in the country at it the problem was he took it too far and broke the rules allegedly you know he he definitely was buying tickets to games all over the country and he was you know and he was buying them for friends and family and the way that he put it is they would go to these games they thought they were helping me they'd send me video i' just say thank you I knew the signs anyway from from doing it the right way I think that's BS I don't believe that I think he but what do you what do you think these people are taking video even if they video the whole game first of all you can't send that second you'd have to like video the whole game and be able to see the signs being produced at the same time that's true because if you just I I guess I'm thinking they're just focusing it on on the the coaches and if you see the coaches doing this that really does nothing unless you can actually see what's going on on the field too so unless he pairs it which he could maybe maybe he was this much of a yeah crazy that would put it past them no but that that's a lot of extra time to put okay now I gotta get that video paired up with this video Yeah and do this with every game I'm watching yeah he has access he has access to every game anyway yeah and that's why it doesn't sound like he actually needed to go to those links to get the this it's like he had he already knew the signs anyway yeah what what would be great is what would be great is if like his parents were on there saying you know hey I went to games you know he bought me tickets to games I don't know where the guy gets all his money from but that's well the booster well you know but he was doing that before the booster yeah yeah you know well I think what he was I think what he was doing is he was buying tickets and he was trying to flip them as a way to make money and and then sometimes he would just give the tickets away yeah well me go ahead go ahead yeah I mean I I there's not enough answers in the documentary to probably form an opinion but again most likely this I mean how come nothing was ever said when he was working at uh Navy well because I mean at that point he he maybe wasn't doing the videoing and again it's not illegal to steal science oh I know unless someone has proof of him actually using the videos and that being something that was an advantage I I just don't know if anybody's ever gonna be able to probably gonna prove that yeah uh TR I know you and I don't know if it was right or wrong but yeah I know you got something you want to add but just let me finish up my point what I was going to say though is I think he literally was um you know he his job on the staff was to steal signs and he'll show up on the sidelines on Saturdays for games he'll stand by Harbaugh on offense an offensive coordinator will stand by the defensive coordinator on defense he'll be looking at the signs and they'll tell him what's coming they they up to that point they don't know how he got the signs they just know that his job is to steal signs it's legal to steal signs and he's showing up every game day and he knows the signs I mean it very well could be that they had no clue that he was going above and beyond what the rules State you can do I that's yeah I think it gets fishy when you're at like a 90% clip of being correct I think that's when it gets a little a little crazy I think right and then but but again based on the documentary when you see the dude is crazy man yeah he was that military guy so well saw the manifesto thing that he had of kind of like if he had a program or whatever which is Pages or something yeah yeah but but you know they I think they got made out you know in the dock it gives a little clip it of like these are like all the notes that he like like I'm not like I've been coaching 23 years I've got papers here and papers there like I've tried to always do like a a huge notebook binder for everything that I see I'm not organized or willing to be that organized it sounds like he's just uh so um deep down into it like everything he had wanted was going to be in that dock whether it was just offensive plays or defensive ideas yeah I'm sure some of it was the man of festo craziness stuff but some of it I think was like probably just football quotes that he wanted to make sure he remembered yeah yeah so I mean I I think that you hear the word manifesto and you think something negative I don't think it was anything negative it was just right a 2,000 page report on his philosophy of football and quotes and things like that I mean I I think if you're a football fan that'd be something interesting to read or a coach to read now my thing is like after this seeing this documentary and seeing like you know how committed he is and how good he is at his job I wouldn't be surprised if he's on an NFL staff next year yeah but there's no sign stuff anymore right I yeah yeah even in the college ranks now you should have yeah because of the microphone yeah yeah so the other thing you know everyone wants this you know once he got fired then they played Penn State and Michigan State and somebody else and then Ohio State and then um um Alabama and then obviously Washington National Championship they won all those games without Conor Stallion and people will come non- Michigan you know fans will come back and say well yeah but they they still already had the signs no they didn't the signs were in con Conor stallion's brain and when Conor stallion's no longer there to tell them what s what what's what's coming the other coaches they don't know now so now though the rest of that season they went without knowing the signs how how would they know him unless they on their own well there's a thing called a cell phone that Jim Harbaugh could pick up and call the guy and be like hey dude send me what you got on these teams and then he just types an email and it's like here you go and then hands it all over to him because wasn't the TCU got pissed what year was that the TCU coach year before Michigan yeah but he was there was something he came out and said something about that whole kind of thing and but he just didn't seem tooo happy about it but like the the very next game was the Michigan State game after he got fired and what we didn't realize watching the game on TV is that Michigan State to be safe they weren't using any signs they were they were having their or quarterback or somebody come over the Seline every single play tell them in their tell them to their face what play and then and then sending them back out there was no signs in that game and I'm guessing every team going forward probably did something very similar it'll be it'll be it's all it'll just be a fun thing to follow because it's still be it'll be in the P it'll be always be there yeah it'll always be part of that season now no matter what so and something will come out like if there's really something there like tell me something that today's age that stays hidden yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah can't it's gonna get Something's Gonna Come and then too like well shiron Moore deleted 52 text from Conor stallion okay what I delete text threads after a while sometimes too like what you how how what evidence does that mean that they were having a conversation about signs they very day you'd be saying the same I'm not saying they weren't having Kurt you haven't had any of your TCH sequestered yet by the NCAA but if it was not Michigan and it was Ohio state yeah oh yeah you know it would just still be the same like I could be like oh Ryan aade he always deletes his text you yeah well I know I have the same stance I'd say it very well could have been that they were talking about signs or it very well they could have not been I mean I think it's all very fishy it's all fishy and it's it worked out for you so that's good but but here's the thing I think everyone does the exact same things and I think Conor stallion is is the best at his job until he got caught best cheater in NCAA football well it'll be interesting to see I it'd be interesting to see how is um what what school is he at Detroit uh Mumford they're horrible they got beat by 40 the first game did they really yeah yeah he didn't have any tape and he's the defensive coordinator yeah no tape didn't help yeah again I you know know again I don't uh again I think his strength was this like being able to figure out the signs like that it was nothing to do with coaching so obviously this will be totally different for him yeah that's true because yeah 100% right totally different so yeah makes for an interesting conversation documentary and probably a book down the road all right well let's move on from a documentary to a Dau series hard ax finally over the snooze Fest that it was my opinion five episodes of snoozing um probably one of the most boring slow paced um Hard Knocks we've seen in in in my opinion I agree I don't know what do you guys think I just don't there's just not a lot of excitement with the Bears like it's and even Caleb Williams like yeah first pick of the draft great in college still didn't win anything um I don't know he just it's an odd character I just don't think there's a whole lot of excitement on the ERS and they're just trying to get some hype around them and I don't know but who knows he could end up being good and they win nine games this year well and my thing with him is and again we talked about this last week you're only judging him on a very small amount of of you know uh Clips in a in a small docy series but it just seems like when he's in these meetings with with uh the coaches or the head coach oneon-one he just seems so uninterested yeah I don't know if that's just his personality or if that's I don't know it's hard to tell but I feel like being an NFL quarterback you can't be like a quiet kind of like you can't carry yourself like with all the Swagger that he has and then just not be a very vocal leader and like a demanding leader in the NFL I feel like but we'll see we'll see what happens 0 and 16 would be awesome wouldn't that be it wouldn't be all bad you know it'll be see I think uh you I think uh just think about this the USC college game the versus LSU like they look like a totally different team now their defense is way better yeah 10 100 times better Coach probably um maybe a better system whatever but obviously you're taking a quarterback who sat behind Caleb Williams for the past two years maybe three looked just fine yeah um you know Caleb willing I think has just an extreme talent but that didn't help them win right you know games at USC and you almost wonder how that's going to transpose for the Bears like again probably Oodles of talents coming out of that kid uh are you know and you wonder how that's gonna if he's not doing all these little things does that really form into a a a Hall of Fame NFL career yeah um and then and then speaking of the the other the the quarterback situation that was uh a big feature on uh episode five um what they were going to try to decide to do with with the remaining three other quarterbacks that were um you know on the on the roster for Camp um you know I guess I didn't realize that they were act until last night's episode they were actually deciding do we want to to keep two or three I thought the standard was you you have a backup quar back and a third string quarterback but I guess um nowadays or some teams they actually um keep two and then the third is actually practice squad so I mean to me that seems a little risky you you you're starting quarterback goes down let's say and now uh you've got one quarterback for the rest of the game yeah especially if he's not I feel like there's not a huge gap between second and third string so like what if the guy comes like Say Caleb Gets Hurt early in the game and then the backup is just terrible yeah that might as well give somebody else another shot to got you got no other option because the practice quarterback's not eligible to play in a game yeah that so is that what you really you really got to do make sure you have an emergency quarterback on your roster somebody else that plays um you know a different position position that can can can come in in case of an an injury and basically hopefully just hand the ball off the rest of the game yeah um but anyway what you guys think I mean um I guess I went into it thinking Brett rien was the clearcut backup that went to uh bent um and then yeah they were deciding between uh Austin Reed then and um and ripping for the um you know deciding if they wanted to keep three or or or or go with two and then keep one of those guys on the practice squad yeah I think they made the right call I feel like Badin was there last year as well and did okay um so I think they made the right call there I think but I feel like you have to keep you got to keep both yeah I I just feel like if you lose Caleb you're in so much trouble yeah that's I don't think you could keep them twoo really unproven that I didn't go ahead no go ahead finish what you're gonna say well I I I think in their case they're thinking hey if Caleb does go down is there's gotta be somebody out there who's got just a little more experience we can rely on instead of throwing another kid to the fire um you know it looks like with the quick research I just did if it's correct 12 teams kept three quarterbacks everybody else has gone either their their their third one is injured so they're not on the yeah playlist right now or they went to a practice squad so must be a more common thing to move that third one to a practice squad and kind of roll the dice maybe well and then you know the other thing that they were you know that they were talking about kind of the factor into the decision do we keep uh ripping on the practice squad you know because then at least we have a a quarterback with a few years of experience if not if we let him go now we've got our starting quarterback is a rookie our SE our backup quarterback is is a is a rookie or no a second year and then our practice squad Reed then is a rookie so you got two rookies and in a and a and a guy with only two years experience so they ended up they ended up offering the um the spot to riing and the way it works is you got 24 hours to see if somebody else picks you up and the Vikings ended up contacting his agent and you know he wanted to stay with the bears but if if the and he wanted to do the practice squad role but if the Vikings were going to offer him a 53 man roster spot he obviously was gonna take it and that's what happened so so then Austin Reed slides back in and now he's the the the practice squad quarterback so they literally have a first a rookie quarterback a seconde backup and then their third quarterback practice squad guy is also a rookie B news if someone goes down so yeah yeah yeah exactly so um I I thought too like with the Bears and I guess if I think back on all the other Hard Knocks it does seem like the GM does end up being the one that you know does the cuts so there was a lot of cuts that they showed this year compared to the last couple years though um that was kind of interesting and yeah it was the GM um doing all the cuts uh for the most part the a the assistant GM is the one that cut Austin Reed but then obviously they ended up bringing him back as practice squad but I thought it was pretty interesting to see how how many coaches they have in this conference room trying to make these decisions you know and then it's all led by the GM not the head coach the GM is the one that says here's here's how many guys we wanted each position and then they kind of talk it out so I thought that was pretty interesting yeah the one cut was a little funky though I thought I know what one you're talking about where dude was like crying before he even said anything it's like why are you cutting him then if it hurts you this much I don't like I don't know if that player was like a it's a business fellas it's a business Well yeah if it's a business then you should just go in there Stone Cold and just sorry buddy like see you rather than like sit there and cry and then like the guy sitting there like I already know you're going to cut me so just do it that's the thing um yeah for the most part it is kind of seem like they do they come in they sit down the jam hey we're gonna release you but with this one it was Adrien Colbert yeah so is he a veteran or something or is he like a has he been around he must have been but that was so awkward it seems so they didn't say anything for a while and he's just crying got GM when he walked in the GMS had to get up and walk away from the table no but dude just do it rip off the Band-Aid you know oh if I'm a player I I would be like this dude's putting this on just we know why I'm here let's just get this over with I don't need your you know crying and making it look like this is so hard for you which it is but like come on unless they had like a past relationship where they've kind of been boys for a while or whatever like somehow Linked UP throughout his career which I would understand it makes that much more difficult but if it's kind of a fresh relationship between the two it shouldn't be yeah it shouldn't be like that that was weird and then I guess one or big mod did you anything else you got no I didn't I I didn't watch the show okay you didn't I could I couldn't I couldn't tune in and in all honesty just like you guys mentioned it just never drew me in where I like the other Hard Knocks previously have all been able to like just draw you in like yeah you want to know what's next and I didn't have that same feeling yeah no um didn't have that at all no but but then the last episode with with showing a handful of cuts which I feel like the last few seasons necessarily done a lot of that but speaking of cuts one more notable cut here and then and then we'll end end the uh the Hard Knocks um Theo Benedict the guy from Canada the guy that wore the uh in the rookie the rookie show did the um Speedo the E American Eagle Speedo they they did let him go uh but then did resign him to the practice squad so that was kind of a notable notable cut as well so and I will just to add because ly I I didn't watch it but I was just uh um had someone send me a a message here The Colbert the one that was cut I you remember previously he was the one that got hit by a car when he was younger yeah and then was at coma for two weeks it was told like he was never gonna walk again right he's 30 he's 30 years old so's it's been a tough journey to get to the NFL so maybe that was a little bit the draw of a tough to cut cut a guy like that because he's worked so hard but well yeah still a business it is yeah yeah I mean he he seemed like a really great guy but there's a lot of great guys so yeah Mak feel for him a little bit though yeah you know just the journey yeah so anyway let's wrap up uh hardock uh Chicago Bears 2024 with a bold prediction how many wins the Bears gonna get this year oh it's 17 games now right yeah 17 games um again they got they're in the they're in C North so they got two games against the Lions two games against the Packers two games against the Vikings um I'll go and last year they were seven and 10 you're went five You're Gonna Go five so you're gonna say worse than last year yeah five five I'm with Trent I just counted them up they they can't get more than five yeah Titans maybe the Colts Panthers maybe the Cardinals or the commanders then they're going to beat the Patriots and then they end with they might uh Vikings will be interesting but then they end with lions Niners Vikings Lions Seahawks Packers yeah I don't know I don't all right well I'm gonna go I'm gonna say I like where you're at with the five but I'm gonna say they are GNA sneak one more out they're gonna beat the Vikings both times I think okay so I'm gonna go six which is crazy because what if McCarthy was playing what's that what if McCarthy was playing now that would go [Laughter] split so um which is crazy because you would you would hope with the the signing of uh Keenan alen and a legend upgraded quarterback I I guess we'll see I don't know you get but but I do think they they last year getting the seven wins I think that was um a little bit of a I I think they out kicked their coverage with with the seven wins I don't think they were really a seven- win team last year yeah um but all right that'll wrap up Hard Knock uh 2024 um five episodes we did a recap on all five um last topic today we're gonna go some predictions some more bold predictions this will be kind of fun um my picks were already seen on the NFL pi show last Sunday so might will be a repeat but um we're going to go AFC champ NFC champ and Super Bowl champ and we'll go right around the horn we'll we'll just start with the AFC champ Big Mo who do you got AFC champ I'm Gonna Roll with the Ravens okay good yeah very I mean I think uh obviously I think they've they're they are who they are I think uh Jackson has an outstanding year yeah and that's the difference for him all right yeah and they added Derrik Henry yes yeah I think odds wise they're I think they got the third best odds to win the Super Bowl I think according to Vegas so uh Trent AFC who do you got man um the Ravens are good but give me the uh give me the Texans oh wow okay nice give me the Texans um I hope they have some sort of defense this year but I don't if they have a defense they have a good chance offense is very good very good yeah um I I went with the Los Angeles Chargers I think uh now that they've got the greatest coach one of the greatest coaches of all time go totally revive Justin Herbert Justin Herbert's gonna have one phenomenal season with jimah Harbaugh uh coaching them up so I went with the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC let's move on to the NFC Big Mo NFC who do you got well we're we're located in Michigan we can't we can't choose anybody else but the Detroit Lions yes sir Trent you on board with that yes sir all right yeah same here 17 and0 baby home field advantage throughout the playoffs get a buy week or first round uh Super Bowl or uh uh yeah I mean there I just gave away my Super Bowl champ too so I'm going I'm going Chargers out of the AFC Lions out of the NFC and then Lions the chargers chargers Lions Super Bowl 560 final score take it I'll take it uh Big Mo you've got them you've got Ravens vers lions in the Super Bowl indoor Super Bowl at New Orleans in the super doome probably the greatest Super Bowl ever played the Honolulu blue come through uh Tre what do you got you had I got Detroit as well it' be Detroit Detroit and Houston yep it' be a high-scoring air offensive battle I think it'd be fun to watch all right but give me the Lions all right I like it I did the Lions baby uh 14 they got about three years to do it so they gota it needs to happen let's get it let's get it out of the way the first year seriously let's just do it 14 uh indoor games in the regular season out of the 17 that's huge and then um you know you figure again if they go 17 and0 yeah then they'll have home they they'll have home field advantage throughout the playoffs so they keep playing indoors and then the Super Bowl's indoors I think it's an no-brainer I already bet him for week one like a week and a half ago yeah they're they're only at three what were they I got at three three and and and at home too yeah and are the Rams better like I didn't I don't know so yeah I liked it so I took it Rams Rams are looking for a Revenge game guys Rams are looking for Detroit biting off kneecaps remember yeah and the the crowd I mean that in that playoff game last year the crowd had a huge Factor huge that game and they're gonna be and they know they had a huge factor and so it's going to be the same thing that crowd is gonna be out of control I heard something about the draft this past year of where um the NFL was like debating like when they were talking to Detroit they were like well could you get like 40,000 people to show up and then they're like yeah how about 700,000 you know you know so like they were debating not going to Detroit because they didn't know if they could get people to show up and then and then everybody showed up yes everybody I think that's it's a good representation of kind of Detroit and the love for the love for the Lions yeah the the video of the Sea of people was Unreal yeah unbelievable uh all right anything else anything we missed um I don't think so Indiana Fever tonight big game um I forget who they're playing but every time the IND Indiana Fever plays it's the big game oh they're playing Los Angeles so okay so we had a birthday shout out today actually oh what do you got uh Jeff Carlson's birthday today all right I will um I will give him a shout out on the uh well oh no more Monday morning live the the uh we're doing Friday morning live now uh move the Monday since we're doing the daily lineup show on Monday move the Monday morning live show now will be Friday mornings at 7 am okay doing the birthday shoutouts I'll add Jeffrey to that thing is I uh I look up celebrities who share that birthday so okay but uh happy birthday shags if anyone out there knows them the shags happy birthday shags um anything else fellas I don't think so all right one more day uh we got the great thing tomorrow night we got NFL football we got NFL Football Saturday we got college football Sunday we got NFL football Monday we got NFL football we got five days of football in a row we just got to get through tonight but we got the Indiana Fever yep uh all right see you tomorrow see you
