all right Nigel leque you had uh your first strip sack I guess of your UCF career just talk us through that play what happened and how did it feel to get it um well when the play started I knew it was pass so I U last week I went U to the Target I missed two opportunities so this week um in practice I was just repping repping with Coach Ingram on to the Target stepping on the o Lan feet instead of widening out and then I was able to get a sack it it felt good getting a sack after being injured last year only playing five games and finally getting back out there with my teammates and coaches believing in me like what is the the identity of this defense it's only been two games but what do you think the identity of this group is being disciplined hitting hard rallying to the ball all 11 man to the ball make it feel like 12 that's our identity AA obviously in the game you had the uh the the um fumble touchdown that was called back cuz it was called a forward pass but then after that your guys get touchdown how exciting was that like did did you're doing that kind of hype the group up to get the turnover the next play or what um it's it's a it's always exciting um when I make a play and get called back and then another person make a play is just everybody just happy for everybody everybody just love when everybody um playing out their best how many times you think you uh you heard ball don't lie after that when you get went back to the sideline a lot a lot a lot two games two wins what more does this defense need to show um well it's always um more to improve we just need to go back in the Playbook and just just read our keys just be disciplined um get in the film room it's always room for for more you touched on a minute ago you missed some games in Miami last year so what was the recovery process like for you when when were you fully healthy fully cleared and uh ready to make an impact for this team um the recovery process I ain't going to lie that was rough getting two surgeries um only playing five games when I was supposed to be like I guess my my jump year it was very hard um I'll say I was ready to play like I don't even I don't even remember I I just know when fall Camp was say I just know I had a point to prove and then what what was the surgeries like what did you need the second procedure for hm what did you need the second procedure for U both of them was U shoulder related obviously you had other options in the portal does the game like this validate your decision to come to UCF um UCF was always a a high like a high school before I even hopped in the pter um close to home close to my daughter um just winning this game and we're going to win more games it's just good that the the coaches the teammates took me in and gave me another opportunity I you just kind of continue on that a little bit you came in after spring you know what was it about UCF and Stu out that made you want to come here and how is it now that you've been here a few months and you've earned a starting role um well it's it's close to home I always wanted to stay in Florida play for Florida uh I don't really I ain't really have no interest to go out of the state um now that I'm finally here W to U start and roll it it's just been great been good um a blessing my teammates help me U cuz I came late so I ain't really know the Playbook so being there with Lee Ricky Mali and they helping me while while I was on the third group um showing me the players Kenny Ingram um helping me it was it was good time for one more you got a big one next week at TCU Big 12 opener what do you guys want to show in that one we just want to show we we ready we here that's all we want to show no talking no nothing
