Former Stockton mayor, Michael Tubbs is seeking higher office. He just filed to run for lieutenant governor in 2026. Tubbs is currently an advisor to the governor on the issue of poverty. He was elected as Stockton's first black mayor in 2016 but lost his re election bid to Kevin Lincoln in 2020.
