UM vs UF/FIU vs Indiana Predictions & FedEx Cup Championship Preview - Tranquilo Sports

the second biggest game this weekend first being FIU Indiana second biggest game uh locally definitely is obviously the Miami UF game canes are making their way up to the swamp yep uh they're three-point favorites they're coming in with a lot of hype you're not the only one who thinks that they're probably ACC favorites CS ball now has three years there has his people so that excuses out the window now for you know um they're obviously going on the road and Florida is not an easy place to play it's a rivalry game the thing with Miami I do think Miami is the better team I think they've got the better roster than UF I don't think it's by as much as people think right I think Miami would be here and Florida is probably like right here under them the last few years I mean the Gators have had their number um and I think that it's going to be tough like I know a lot of guys that are going in thinking it's going to be a blowout I don't think it's going to be a blowout at all it would be a big test uh because Miami schedule is very weak it's a cakewalk especially when Florida has like the hardest schedule in the world in November is wild but like Miami this is the year that that if they don't do it this year then it's like yeah because I mean there are two games on the schedule that were circled were this week and FSU right if you can get past this week hypothetically you should be able to run the table up until FSU right and that's another one that's going to be you know you can throw the records out the window at that point but um I don't know man I think it's going to be very close I think it's going to be a great game um I lean the home dog in Florida um but you know Miami has the guy and if this is the year that they want to take that jump they need to this pod today and we'll get into a little golf talk with the championship on the line this weekend and yeah I think that that'll wrap it up before you know we get into some fin talk next week we'll do a little NFL fce preview next week but this week college football is fully back fully back uh Full Slate this weekend did have a little mini slate week zero which we'll definitely talk about but feels good to be back we got our mascot CA there oh yeah but yeah let's get into that week Zero game I mean you're in Ireland on a huge huge stage it was a very anticipated game to say the least especially for Florida State and obviously for Georgia Tech too I mean that's a great game for them to be a part of but you know FSU coming off of what happened to them last year you thought would have set a different tone with the way this started this year and and the quarterback was the big conversation of yes of DJ I don't want to butcher his last name but DJ stick with DJ d i i we got we got to practice that one but yeah he did not seem to meet the expectation of what they wanted in week one and maybe it's a little bit of a mix of they don't trust him yet and the system isn't enough for him to immerse himself at this point but I mean [ __ ] he was supposed to come in and kind of Kickstart where they left off and Miss listen there's a lot of people to blame but let's just start there he did not he didn't he didn't play well I don't know if it was play calling or what but it was a mix because so you kind of hit it in the beginning obviously FSC is coming off what happened to them last year not making the playoffs after undefeated season and they you know especially the fans like they were pissed they went into this game with a lot of hype they were giving Kirk Herpst stre a ton of [ __ ] on col G every time he SP yeah like they and they've been coming for his throw ever since because he said they didn't deserve it whatever and then you come out that first drive I was like all right FSU is going to beat the breakes off these guys like first drive it was easy they scored they go for two they do that crazy play and um and then from then on it was you know it was kind of back and forth but Georgia Tech was kind of really holding their own and then at the end of the game FSU defense which is definitely another talking point their defense did not look very good no um but DJ also didn't look very good because he's you know he's transfer quarterback he's coming from uh Oregon State and before then he was at Clemson so and you know number one recruit in his class even ahead of like a CJ St and Stu which is like a huge thing going around he didn't look great there's two parts of it probably you know it's still you know it's first game and new system outside of the fact obviously he's been playing it all offseason but first real game experience in it right a little shaky but just in general like he just like some of the throws he was missing he I mean he was like 10 for 11 to start the game and he had negative one air yards like was Dink and dump Dink and dump and then when they needed him to make a play he couldn't um I'm sure part of it goes to play calling and things like that but he wasn't the guy that probably people were expecting at least week one maybe he turns it around after you know has this game and he's like locks in but yeah that first game is not uh Pride does not have FSU fans like yourself very excited for the rest of year I know this uh shout out to my boy Joey uh big FSU guy and he is he he thinks the season's over already he is down to the dumps um and and it's tough like you come out ranked 10 in the nation going into a season you just want to defeated outside of theame but and then you know you lose week one to an unranked Georgia Tech in Ireland and and so it's tough It's a tough look and a lot of people are ragging on him now because of all the things that the fans were doing to guys like Kirk and like really you know they deserved it but you know they've been talking all off season about it and then now exactly so it's not the way you want to come out after all the hype going into the season after all the hype with the quarterback transfer it it makes you question a couple things right because it's like you've had this offseason to really prepare and you did lose a lot of guys on both sides of the ball and that was going to be the biggest question for Florida State but people thought that hey I mean they still have a extremely talented roster they still have obviously Norville who's come in and and done a good job in the transfer portal and and got the pieces that you thought were going to make this team right back to where they left off but that didn't seem to be the case it and and the thing that bothered me too was they didn't seem to make a lot of good endgame adjustments where as Georgia Tech was was firing from you know the from the first snap I mean yeah they gave up that touchdown on the first drive but they answered right back and scored on their first drive right and then they kept punching back and punching back and punching back and they even took the lead you know where then Florida State now was playing from behind right and that changed the whole dynamic of the game because now you're as a Florida State fan you're like how the hell are we in this situation right now right and we tied the game right now you're like okay we can salvage one of these we zero game is tough it's tough It's I I didn't think like when I saw the spread I'm like this is going to be a closer game than I think I was I was on minus 11 so yeah I mean you would assume I got crack talent wise you go there and you handle business but you knew it would be a dog fight just because Georgia Tech has a chip on their shoulder all the hype is around Florida State and they wanted to send a message and shout out to them because they did they did a good job and they made plays when they needed to to get into the defensive side things right you're there it's a 242 24 game or 2121 game right there at the end before that last Drive of of Georgia Tech defense can just get off the field right give yourself give your offense a chance they couldn't get off the field it was like a seven-minute drive they milked the clock Georgia Tech did whatever they want and they stormed down the field and then on top of it just when you're like [ __ ] they're in field goal range they muff that snap they lose like 10 yards on that play now it's like thir and it was like third and 14 15 they're not in field goal range at that point you would assume right and then you're like okay like this is going to be our Saving Grace and then we fight maybe our way in OT then they give up 10 yards 11 yards on that bubble screen which I thought was a great play call cuz we clearly were not prepared for that and they knew we we'll run it out to the outside we'll stop the clock and we'll be able to kick kick a f whe whether we need to get out of bounds or or call a timeout right and dude they executed it perfectly and this kid had a very manageable goal there at the end 44 yards and and he and he made it obviously and to me it's like if you're a top 10 team and you're a high caliber defense like they were positioned some people were saying this is the best D line in that's what I that's what I was hearing I heard this defense was supposed to be legit coming from like Sabin coming from some guys obviously no football and here they were they got bullied all all game they were running the ball whenever they wanted to and they controlled the line of scrimmage though pretty much the whole game it was like we we didn't see anything and I don't know if it was schematic wise or what it was but it just seemed like we made or FSU made no halftime adjust or any adjustments during that game and when they had a chance to get off the field they couldn't get off the field so I really do think it's both people to blame like I I don't like it didn't look like we were prepared I don't know if we came in there with a kind of like conception of like we're not you know we're we're the better team we could do whatever we want and we're going to R roll away with this game they did not look prepared norell did a great job last year but I think he struggles in big games and I think that's something that as a season goes on we have to look at because even in his early stages when FSU lost some [ __ ] horrific games like Norvell made questionable questionable play calls during those games and it cost us a lot of games and here we are in a moment where it's like go out there and make an adjustment didn't feel like FSU made adjustments do you how on the the Panic meter 1 to 10 where do you stand uh if it's a 14 playoff I'm like all right wipe that question out of the book the fact that it's a 12 team playoff and hypothetically we go and run the table and we go win out it is what it is and win the ACC I mean it's like you kind of forget about that loss yeah but it's not the way you want to start it's more of the way that the guys look do you think that that team confidently you can say like so you're kind of not you're pan meters like three right now honestly even to begin this year my expectation for FSU was like a 10 win season not bad so me US losing to uh Georgia Tech week zero was not in my radar I'll tell you that much so that's where maybe the Panic reader kind of goes up but I'm I'm optimistic at a at the point where I think we're still very talented and we can still win a plenty of games to put us in contention but I mean [ __ ] it to me what I'm now going to watch is is Georgia Tech a team to watch out in the ACC for I don't know I don't know that question I listen I'm not I'm not who knows I they can probably I mean they br the ACC is wide open in my opinion I don't think I think it was between Florida stinks I think it was between Florida State and un that honestly had the best chance of winning the ACC that was my honest opinion going into the into the year and I still think it it is that but [ __ ] I think Georgia Tech can go and make a a shock right because I don't think the ACC is super competitive that teams like this that can pull off wins like that um can ride that momentum into the season and now believe they can beat anyone right so I'm I'm very optimistic but I'm also like Curious how the other teams look as the season progresses it's a early part of the year like it's a hit panic but in in week zero is crazy it's just the fact that like you weren't supposed to lose that game and you lost that game course of course that's that's the part where the the Panic meter comes on well that's why we love college football anything can happen anything can happen man anything can happen but we'll see it's a long season it's a lot of question marks across the board I think the the defense has a ton of things to figure out scheme wise personnel-wise you know really look at yourself in the mirror and and figure it out but yeah I mean I don't think anyone obviously was expecting that to happen and no I wasn't and it happened so we we'll see we'll see I do think the ACC though is wide open yeah I I agree I do agree the AC wide open um except where we differ is I think Miami's got no chance you're expecting now year three of crystal ball exactly that you can kind of get over that hump um and they're in the same boat as FSU they have the transfer quarterback coming in in W and W and the running back too the guy from I think from Martinez from organ State he played with DJ yeah so you know they made the moves to be contenders obviously and obious like every year you has a ton of hype around them and I think you touched on the most relevant point which is that CS ball now has three years there has is people so that excuses out the window now for you know um they have to go now and and do what Florida state was supposed to do in the first week of football yeah they didn't do that they're obviously going on the road and Florida is not an easy place to play it's a rivalry game and there's a reason why that spread is only three points yeah but um should win that game yes and no I actually don't uh unbiasedly I think it's a coin flip game um I think sprad would almost make that no one's expecting Florida to do anything but it's still Florida right like so it's still a really tough moment they it's a rivalry game so it doesn't really matter like like it's going to be the the swamp is going to be jumping it's uh I know a lot of people from Miami are heading up and a pooch is heading up um but like the swamp I've been to a couple games the swamp and it's crazy I've been to two games one of them was a homecoming which was crazy the other one was an FIU game in in the TBO years where they beat piss out of us um but even for a team like us at the time this was chrisal Ball's second year I think with us and um that place was jumping like they're playing FIU and that that thing sold out and they're loud as hell and you know I can only imagine the level of of of of amp itude or whatever the word is of of the the the the decimals that are going to be going off in that Stadium when they're playing kicking off against Miami it's going to be very tough it's going to be hot as hell uh and PO said it might be raining it kind of mucks it up and so um the the the things that Miami does have going for it I think they've really improved both sides of the line which is something that usually they don't have usually a lot of you know uh it's not a Florida specialty it's more of a you know Big 10 territory or SEC or like really Texas area um but they've really beefed up the both lines and you know they should be good it's just whether or not chrisal ball um you know if he can take that step and and let's see but uh I think week one I think they're in for a tough game and uh I'm going to lean towards the uh the Gators in in in a nailbiter on this one it is I'm excited to watch it yeah you know I'm you know selfishly I got a root for the Gators in this one as much as I don't want to but selfishly I want it because I don't want to hear the um fans after happen F you yeah you hate um fans more than florid 100% but but that also comes like in my FIU love and my Fu imagine the two teams that I like in college football are the teams that are um's hypothetically like biggest rivalry because you have the local presence even though like they're are biggest brother we're not necessarily their biggest exactly but you know and then I also like FSU which just doesn't like um either so it's like there's a strong hatred towards un and I uh I just yeah I don't want him to win this weekend and crying next week I want Pooch here recording he may not show up he may not he may not show up PO the heck Pooch just texting me Miami in a blowout 53 to four four Pooch what the heck two safeties come on but um yeah I think it's going to be I think it's going to be a great game CU obviously there's a lot of um fans going but I mean I'm assuming it's still going to be like what 9010 yeah I mean maybe not 9010 but like 802 you have only gave yeah yeah that's what I saying it's it's also the swamp sells out every weekend student section anybody who lives in or around Gainesville goes to every game so you know the pre-sale like the not pre-sale the uh what is it called like The Ticket Master or whatever resell Market secondary Market is not huge and they're usually try to I mean as best they can to sell the Gator fans course so they will be outnumbered 100% no matter how many I think there'll be a good turnout at least in Gainesville whether everyone go is able to go into the game I think there'll be a lot of Miami people in Gainesville yeah but yeah it'll be at least 80 20 minimum like I think that the swamp is going to be that's it might it could be 91 you know what I mean just based on you know how how big of a game this is too and yeah so we'll see we'll see um put you pred real prediction give us a prediction um all right so next game uh no prediction I think that we're going to win by two scores wow by two scores not I I would even say two touchdowns I think it'll be a touchdown yeah okay so so you got him by 10 by 10 um minimum that's what I want the score to be that's also my prediction I just feel like who who do you think is the one that's gonna is it gonna be Ward and is he gonna come out having a great game is it gonna be the running game is it gonna be the defense overwhelming them I think um both sides of the ball I feel like people don't understand how Talent we have on our D line like I think you do over the years like I mean like not say over the couple weeks that people been ranking D lines they say that we have arguably one of the best D lines in college football just from top to bottom we have this kid Ruben Bank coming to softcore year he's GNA be a stud we got in a couple trenches or studs also Simmon siman Barrow um Tyler Bon Elijah Austin like all guys that rank top like pretty high up in the rankings in terms of like pressures and stuff um but I think it's going to come down to run game I think like there's nothing like gr and to football just to beat the life of your team and then cam I just feel like he's just going to bring something you haven't seen in a while since maybe dear King just like that playmaking of quarterback that you really need to win in club football DK King was a bit of a let down though no we had one good year and then like he he got H and the tyan D came we thought that was our answer and then that was also a let down so I think I think cam W is going to be you know I think he's going to be good he has you know the stats to back it up at least yeah what we'll see I mean he's coming from what big Washington was Pack 12 yeah so he's coming from Pack 12 you know to Toth he's Washington State um I'm still suspect about our DBS I think our DBS are still suspect I think that's our biggest weakness on the team outside of that if we can just keep the game at the front seven and if the game goes to the front seven I think we'll win every single game this year yeah I think you guys are going to try to run the ball a lot in this game I think I mean I think our o line is young but I mean we have arguably like at least one first round on that o line like that right tackle the poian Francis maloa he's a first round Talent as a sophomore so I think we're going to run the of the ball F Damen Martinez and we're just going to run the dog out of it and then I mean we'll see dude I mean I I I want to win by two scores just to like see that we've made an improvement more than anything just a win would be an improvement not even do I I generally think that we're better thano favites on paper on the road at home you would have been more of a favor on paper we are a much I think you say we're not that much I think we're a much better team bottom but I think this team goes as far as crystal ball goes honestly I think that the coaching is really what's going to decide says you has all the talent but if the coaching's not there we're not going to go far no matter how much talent you got it really comes down to the coaching the O mostly the OC and crystal ball yeah I'm not worried about our defensive coordinator our defensive coordinator is Rock Solid he had a great year last year even with dilapidated DBS everything we we were in every single game yeah we against Florida every game that we lost we were in it but our offense just couldn't I I I don't think I I don't think the Gap is that big I I just don't I Florida's still every year 10 top 10 recruiting class like it's it's still the same Florida team of the last few years that has you know I agree Miami is better on paper I just don't think it's that much like I I have people saying that you know it's not even close like it's it's definitely like the margin of of athlete on that on these teams aren't different to be in my opinion I I agree Miami's D line has improved a ton I both sides of the the lines I think are going to be huge um factors but I just don't think it's that big I could be wrong I could come outside and like holy [ __ ] this team beat the [ __ ] out of Florida I said but if it's a like if it's a statement we go that we win by freaking by 24 Point like oh my God never hear the end of it basically I think a 10-point win I'll be happy I just want to come all the D because I think if we beat Florida on the road first of the season it's a huge momentum boost I I I honestly think this makes a breakthrough season well yeah especially the not in terms of because they could still I mean they could I mean hypothetically still same thing with Florida 11 it still be fine but it's just will they like if they lose this game will they go 111 I don't know because it's it's a team that like you lose week one the momentum and the fan base especially the fan base is going to be insane if they lose this game and then you have to build that momentum back up you've got a few cakewalks for the next few weeks but it's still like all right show me something and then they need to still pick up a win against FSU or you know something like that to get kind of back in that group Virginia Virginia are both those those ACC games always you know there's a one or two that AER yeah Ian the always I mean talking about Georgia Tech I mean yeah exia Tech always gives us a good game Georgia Tech plays teams well I I think people forget that it's just but I do think like we have to win just to it's a it's a I think if you win this week then you can see like okay college football playoffs maybe I think if you win this game it's enough momentum to guide you through the biggest other game of the season would be obviously FSU because if you win this game even let's say I don't know when you play Virginia tag or I don't even know when you play FSU but the FSU is another one because now you see what FSU did week one and then if you can't can't beat FSU this year whether or not it's a good indicator or not but it if you beat Florida like you have to beat FSU because that's that and then you do that then you're in the honestly you're kind of just in the playoffs no matter what if to be H unless you you lose like three other games but but have to be in the AC Championship one way or the other oh yeah yeah yeah of course that for me that's a bare minimum because you're the Championship you're at least playing for a playoff SP exactly least at bare minimum you're playing for a playoff spot I mean I think right now like like you look at the floor and stings of young people are saying like we're either going to go undefeated or we're going to lose like four or five games yeah yeah like there's not like a 12 there's not like 11 and one or like a 10 a 10 and two it's either you're going to be undefeated or you're gonna go you're have a mediocre season yeah and that's really it really just I agree I agree I I agree this game I think this game will decide a lot so we'll see it's going to be awesome I'm pumped for it though if we win I'm going to come back next episode I'm I'm going to come no you good you'll sit in the seat yeah I'll sit down and'll see I'm GNA go up there I'm excited to go up there SW last year sick swamp is sick yeah I don't imagine that's what I'm saying crazy I wish it was a night game I do wish it was a night game I think it would have been cool if it was a night game yeah it's cool it would be cool I mean that would be sick that would have been sick but I mean I'm excited just to go up there and just host I love I love hos aome like I hate you you suck my projection for this game like now that I'm sitting here and you know in the in the conversation is 2622 um and the reason I picked 2622 is um's goingon to end up covering the spread on this game because Florida's going to go for two late in the game to force it to be less than a three-point game to give him a chance to win the game they're not going to they're not going to get the two-point conversion and then they're just not going to be able to score after that to win the gam I know but you you forgot about the pick six they're going to throw the end that would be a wild finish to the game yeah so we'll see excited I'm excited I think everyone's excited for this year I think that I mean especially for you if we win this game like the the stands will the stadium will get a little bit more full for games I mean no one's going to come out when we play unfortunately people that comes with it it's still early in the year you know you you hope to obviously fill it up later as the Go the real the real fans will be there which is like about 10% of them and then uh you know the rest will come and I'll be there I'll be there yeah I know I know you will you're you're a real one but you know the rest of them you need to win and I'm excited the same I'm excited I think it's I think it's a great way to open Theon AB I agree yeah I don't know it's notle game obviously the well Notre Dame and Texas A&M I makes sense just the hype around Notre Dame and then obviously Texas A&M is a big program just big football towns it makes sense I think I think obviously um Florida was a close second it's up there one of the best games the but um Texas A&M uh not today makes sense yeah because it's 19 of course just like I'm sure every everybody that's a um fan is probably going to do the same thing because h no no everyone that's a um fan is going to pick pick us right to cover yeah I think everyone in um I'm already on UF money line so oh that to 100% value is too good all right let's let's let's talk about the real game of the week uh it's obviously FIU at Indiana uh at the same time of um FS uh um UF um honestly college game day was going to be there but you know whatever but they're saving it for the other fi yeah exactly they're saving it for uh fi UTP um and and so um huge huge kickoff also we got a pretty big P5 opponent in terms of like you know we're playing big Indiana who just got a new coach uh the guy from GMU who was awesome last year and and he's brought a lot of guys with him so uh we are 21 and a half Point underdogs um I like that it's it's a dog week um and and we're hunted baby um I'm I'm I'm more excited just because we talked to Mac and I think he feels so confident and I I was telling I was talking to I was talking to Anthony Gator on Saturday and he was telling me and I was like and we're talking about like what would happen like you know if we win that game the momentum with the Pit Bull stadium and like what we can do for the home opener and he goes if when we win like he was so confident about like oh [ __ ] I get that's what they all say I guess it seems like they're actually like fully bought in and hopefully you know it it happens it's obviously a huge uphill battle Yeah but uh I you know I I like what Max said about you know it's similar to Chris ball right we were talking about it's third year it's his guys there's you know the the excuse isn't really there anymore like this is you know this is the team that you've built and the team that he was telling us that he he feels the most confident with with and they've gotten deeper at very key positions and they've gotten bigger and and the team just looks more ready uh than the past couple years which is great and it's super exciting and you hope that you can take that momentum and if you know obviously a win would be huge but it's also it's also taking a step back just if we can compete and and show that you know like we're not scared to go up to you know not that Indiana's like a top tier in the Big 10 but they're still Big 10 School of course comparon to the they got new new quarterback new coach and is is mza the star for Indiana little brother yeah I know he was in the I think they got a I think they got a TR out there I know he was in the Run for the starting job I I mean I don't know I mean they would have probably made an announcement I probably would have seen it somewhere they made it the let me see I got it right here would have you know pretty hyal all right um no their quarterback is Curtis RoR okay um Mendoza is is third it looks like in the I got him up here at fifth string oh really he's a true freshman though so yeah yeah so well his brother gonna be one starting at Cal for now yeah be starting C he's we're going to play them we're going to play them I think in Cal yeah I'm excited for that to watch another guy that we got on the Pod [ __ ] that could be a good little road game when is that game do you know uh early half play all AC games back half got you yeah that's half are like out of I guess out of division I know like AC all out of division the other side is co is it Coastal yeah they the coal you play you play them October 5th yeah so I fig like the the early half of the season because like I think they're with u you playing the exact yeah right the exact middle they're they're week week six yeah I think we play also at that point that be another you play SMU no you don't play news here we you've got Stanford right uh you got Virginia Tech the week before Louisville after your buy Florida State I think yeah you don't you don't play no you don't play Stanford either no just Cal just Cal still set game yeah um but yeah I mean going back to the FIU uh combo the obviously you want to win that game right obv dud huge huge huge but if you can go in there and I think it's more about proving you belong right like showing those that next step that you're ready for that cuz you want go into every game with the thought and belief that you can win like there's no freaking doubt in my mind but you build that confidence by contending in a game like that yeah and you you know you you kind of don't want that Heartbreaker either because that kind of can derail a lot of your momentum right it's like [ __ ] we were a field goal away from winning that game or a play away from winning that game you're like God damn I think with a team like you can kind of rally around that it's like hey like they needed a game winner to beat us like we're going to be tough out for anybody type mentality and you know I listen I think if there's a time to play Indiana um you know obviously like I said the coach the all that it's in the beginning it's it's right where you catch them whether it's all these guys first games and we're a more experienced team in terms of we got a lot of roll over year over year we've got Max guys we got Keon who's now going into year two he's more experienced he's bulked up yeah um I think our our our running game is going to be awesome my biggest worry is still the o line but um all the defense in my opinion I know we got better and we got deeper but yeah are we really going to be able to push our weight on the defensive line are we going to be able to get stops when we need to get stops if we're in close games avoid the big plays that's that's the big thing you can't you can't give up these 40 yard touchdowns 50 yard you know they're momentum killers exactly sh they shatter you um but so I was talking to somebody on Saturday and what they were telling me was that um he's like you know M we might not have a first team all you know all conference linemen but we've got we've got 10 guys that can rotate and they're all pretty even so it's about depth and that they can rotate and if somebody got some guy comes out feeling comfortable enough that the next guy can stand uh step it up so I think that it they feel more comfortable this year and so I'm expecting that next step right I'm expecting my goal is you got to at least go bowling you know hopefully I think that's that's a huge thing especially you got to ride the momentum of the the Pitbull Stadium announcement and I think they can do it I think they've got a lot of players and there's a lot of un unknown uh players that we got from via transfer things like that that you know if we can if they can have a big impact you know we we can really make you know a run and conf I mean is you know Liberty is the top dog right jackonville state is is very good too the rest is is pretty wide open and we can we can still be a liberty like 100 Liberty is the better team right now but like we can we can still beat a liberty type thing and that's that's the mentality they they have to have that's mentality I believe they have y and I think it starts here going up to Indiana I think the boys are going to be pumped and I love 21 and a half I obviously already slammed it um but but um yeah it's going to be it's going to be awesome it's an awesome kickoff and I love you know the fact that we get to be on National I think it's game's national televised I think I think it's CBS sports or something um but let's see right now oh no it's Big 10 Network I think so yeah I mean that's available um but yeah so I think the boys are going to be ready so I I love fi this week and I'm expecting a good year and uh I'm expecting a big a fun fun college football year uh and and there's a lot of really good things to look think we should be tracking our mortal locks this year uh do we want to start this week start it yeah week one baby got to do it give me two more lock fora money line nfiu plus 21 and a half I'll take those mortal locks and then I'll throw in a couple fun ones uh let's see what I've got all right I've got I've got Michigan State uh minus 13 and a half over FAU um I just might be also another bias pick um I like Clemson plus 14 against Georgia um I think it's you know I think it's a week one type situation I think Georgia some body who's obviously everyone's predicting to be the best team in INB you're you're projecting for I'm picking Clemson plus 14 ah you see my lock of the week was Georgia covering at 13 and a half oh boy I got him at 14 got 14 yeah well I I have him covering that okay I think they're gonna okay Dre all right we're going we're going opposing on our lcks this week yeah and then um I've got my last one I'll give is uh USC plus five at home against LSU I think that's going to be an awesome game I think Monday technically but um I like USC at home I I I do think or two I mean that's that was my other luck but go not covering I think money line I think USC is going out there win I'm making that pick for you po I got to write this down I think they're going to I think they're going to go win and I I think they're they're a little bit of on the uh post Caleb world right that you know what what is USC really going to look like I think for USC it's really about their defense like dude that defense was atrocious last year yeah I'm not I'm not sold on LSU every year either you know and I they they they play and they compete in these big games every year but I think USC is going to shock some people in in that game and I I like picking them and then my other lock was Georgia I I think Clemson I think is the one of the teams I think is overrated this year I think they could surprise people they could surprise people I think could be Clemson like they've been I just don't I I haven't seen that Clemson in a while so I think uh Georgia is going to go it's at home for Georgia the Georgia fans are going to show up and they're going to be loud and that's going to be a crazy environment and I think it might be close first half and then I think George is just going to run run away with it in this in the second half of that game so yeah those are my two locks all right Pooch I'm putting you down as a lock for Miami uh minus three I got one more question before I want these pick from you guys pre-season before that really the week one kicks off okay I want your Heisman favorite okay oh wow for national champion and then a college football sleeper who do you think is going to be a team that's going to sneak their way into the college playoffs maybe it's a a a G5 team maybe it's like a a sneaky power five Team all right I got I got Heisman Keon Jenkins Champion fyu sleeper FIU is that how is that how that goes is that how that works um no I I don't Heisman is a bit tougher for me um I don't know all the guys like that yet and like Jaden Daniels last year I I would not have predicted him to be the Heisman but in terms of they're not really a a sleeper but my pick for uh national champions this year I really like Oregon I love Oregon I I like what what Dan Lings done over there and I think and I like that they got Dylan Gabriel and he's actually the favorite to win the Heisman Gabriel oh okay yeah I wouldn't be shocked if he wins I just I really like um I like Oregon a lot I think they're pretty sound offensively and defensively and I think their time is is is come like they've been so close to getting in the playoffs under Mario even last year like they were they were there you know I mean like I like Oregon a lot so that's my pig for national champion and then sleeper pick um I do think fi is going to have a a much better year than people are projecting but sleeper into getting like a college football playoff bid that I don't know um I'll go back to go go back to me on that one I think I can find one um so for me obviously H Dylan Gabriel is the favorite but a guy that I'm seeing here in terms of odds that I like because I don't want to pick the heavy favorite Quinn U from Texas I think Texas which also can be my I think they could get in the college football playoff 100% I have I have I have a future on Oregon and Texas I like I really like them and I think they're in obviously a tough schedule but I think they've proven that they can compete in the big games and I think they've been also a team very similar to Oregon where they've been in contention and they're there flirting in the middle winning some of those big games late but I think they could turn it around and I think they have the team now that can kind of put it all together and win enough big games especially with this 12 team playoffs they can afford to lose maybe one or two right where they could have maybe not made it in last year because of the four team they probably would have made it in as a 12 team so I I could see them making it in and I could see U kind of coming in and and winning the Heisman I like that I like that and I'm just a big fan of the Texas brand I think they they they got a sick program there obviously everyone rallies around them but this is a crazy kind of pick after the week Zero game but [ __ ] Georgia Tech could be my sleeper pick to squeeze in acc's again going back to ACC I think acc's open they got already a top 10 win under their belt who knows what they pull off I would have never guessed them to be in it but after what I saw this D down they beat F I'm obviously rooting hard now for Georgia Tech to be good but I mean [ __ ] I think ACC is wide open if we're going to go deep sleeper who's to know I mean they prove they can contend against a good team if FSU ends up actually being a good team this year that's another discussion to be had but again they did they did step one in getting a weak zero win against a top 10 program which they hadn't done in a while so they did that and then ACC there's a lot of games they can win even if they lose one do they are they a one loss team and God knows what else happens in the rest of the in the league that maybe they can get in so they've they've controlled their destiny so far this year yeah and they've done that so who knows i' I've got one sleeper pick um I am I've got a future on them win total um I like Nebraska this year I like Matt Ru second year with the program um not that I think that they may they may sneak into a playoff who knows I think they can give a run for the Big 10 um this year I like Nebraska another te Will Compton also got me fully I listen to a podcast with him and he I'm like all right I guess I like Nebraska this year so that's my sleeper pick this year another team I mean I get it like their offense historically is just terrible but their defense is always ruthless as Iowa yeah I know Iowa yes I totally agree with you by the way they could obviously get in they've also been a a fringe Team every year and now with this 12 team playoff obviously opens the doors for a lot of teams yeah but I mean could Iowa get in there with their defense and win enough games to be there I think obviously that that's to be seen but [ __ ] I mean there's a lot yeah well I got mines too I I I I've been thinking about this so go for it my national champion I think it's going to be Georgia okay Georgia basic my Heisman pick not basic Ali Gordon oh nice back from Oklahoma Oklahoma State yeah last year he put up I like that I like that yeah I was thinking a non QB too State B school baby and then my S for the plays yeah I mean very valid well the thing the thing with Liberty what what what's obvious their team Liberty is disgusting they're the top of our conference um they are very good the thing with with this year in the colge football playoff the 12 spot uh automatically goes to G5 school yeah so Liberty is most likely or favored oh Liberty is favored to to get to to be in that SP Liberty Boise State that territory but Liberty is very good not enough people talk about Liberty because obviously they're in conference say but they're a team that's grown rapidly and they've got a lot of money to spend and they've spent it well and they've got a really good team so Liberty is a great pick because they can absolutely make that call they can take that G5 spot 100% I think they can make a run too I think they can make a sneaky run in there too they can upset somebody 100% I think I mean there's going to be somebody that I think no one's really going to think about getting in there there somebody's going to get in there and I think that's the beauty of this 12 team playoff like it's it's going to open so many doors I mean think just think about how college football has operated the last few years how many teams that should have been in that didn't get in you know and a lot of these smaller programs right they just didn't get in because they you know they didn't have enough weight or whatever strength of schedule whatever it is but yeah that breeze feels amazing right now we are filming outside after in day I think that's that's the god saying uh Liberty yeah pick um and then I got I got one last thing not really a sleeper um but uh Penn State's making the playoff this year going to make a run shout out my brother and Jason Joshy uh I was about to say Penn State rad pen State's got to get in there for Franklin's sake he's on the Hy for sure especially with this 12 team playoff he can't get in that way it's going to be tough but we'll see it's exciting we're we're back we are back I love it I love it I love it and it's this beautiful transition because we've had golf these last few months yes and now as golf wraps up we go right into football so we got the championship weekend this weekend for the FedEx Cup and obviously we have this format we all you know we all kind of know Scotty being number one we'll we'll start with a a two-stroke lead over over over Xander who's number two and then it just starts funneling down from there yeah I mean who do we like what do we think I mean obviously it's Scotty's for the taking essentially but there's no guarantee that he's going win for anybody outside of like the five under range to really get in it's hard y but yeah yeah okay if your name is Victor hin basically my next point is defending champ Victor hin um Hobs at two under so eight back it's always tough to get there I think to be honest this is Xander's tournament to lose um I agree I don't think one Scotty's not buil for the playoffs I've been saying that it's been my my one thing I can hold on to uh so far um but he has not been playing good like he's not been good these last two weeks like he's been good obviously but he's been middle of the road like he hasn't been in contention at all and he just doesn't look like the same way I think his back's probably affect him a little bit but I think Xander is the runaway favorite um he's only two back same spot as hav was last year and uh I think he's just playing so good and he's been playing so good really toward second half of the year yeah um and so I I think it's I think it's his to lose um I don't necessarily see like I don't think Roy is going to win it no um I don't think I don't think Aber aber's got the Sunday scaries that guy's got The Yips on Sundays he cannot he's played so well so well so he just can't he can't pull together on a Sunday I just I don't see I don't see Keegan awesome win for Keegan though shout out Ryder Cup captain that was epic I was so Happ for him was soep I just don't see him and I don't see Hideki with his back thing too so Hideki would have been my pick hideki's probably the hottest golfer right now 100% over the last couple weeks fact I mean it's it's it's also a timely with withdrawal right because it's like you know you have you know you got the three spot I know but he had the wait but if he wins as he pass zand yes oh wow no and he said he's not 100% he already said it as press he's consistent his game he feels very comfortable with it obviously now he's won so he's got the pressure off of him all all that amazing things that we've talked about Xander over the year you know he's done all of those things like we said he would he he ended up winning a second major he competed in the in the Olympics until he didn't bless you thank you but the the the big thing is like Scotty also does have a chip on his shoulder because he knows the reputation for sure he no he wants to win this battle like he really he's choked it two years in a row is is the um is his game in the place where maybe it was a couple months ago where he won but then again he wasn't like playing great into the Olympics and then he ended up winning and I think a little the olymp a couple things happened in between that open the door for him also to win you a couple I wouldn't say choke jobs but just not good enough gol call him choke job um they like to hand this guy on a silver platter yeah um I don't know I I I just think it's xanders if you had to pick a sneaky guy to just go on a run I actually think he's play he's playing is playing better than play really well this past weekend he played okay he played good enough the course didn't end up playing as easy as it seemed to have it it was it was kill it was killing people uh and so he didn't play great toward the end but he was like fine like he was kind of he obviously played amazing at the at the something with he dud he he could have won that tournament and and he's he's defending champ he was I listen to his press conference today and he says that they've made so many changes though that no one's like really like he says this weekend might be very tough interesting he says they firmed up the greens and some of the pin placements are like impossible get weather going to be this weekend over there shirt gonna be hot as hell yeah Atlanta weather it's right now yeah it's steaming right now but I mean I I know they were expecting like a big Heat Wave over there um yeah I mean you're talking about the High 94 on Thursday 92 Friday it's GNA be hot it's gonna be 90s all all weekend so it's gonna be hot which obviously you have to take that into consideration the body and all those things but I mean yeah I I I don't really see anyone making a crazy run just because there's too many good guys at the top that have too many strokes for them to yeah it's just it's tough like it's tough you're giving Scotty five Strokes to the next you're giving Xander four show like you know what I mean like it's it's going to be the Battle of Scotty and Xander if anyone can do it I mean you would need you first off You' need someone if a h were to do it right he's eight back from Scotty you would need him to shoot eight under on on Thursday have to shot 6 to shoot like a minus two or something and you're like boom you're already right you're already right in there like you know what I mean so very possible but very hard obviously it's why most of the time the top guys uh top you know top five usually are the guys who you know within that five stroke will win but who knows I think a very exciting end to a very exciting golf season let's hey let's C it up boys a success golf season Great Golf season Great Golf season shout out PGA we did a lot of great things with them and can't wait to expand that and yeah and then you by the way to get even deeper I mean obviously we we we cover the tour but we've been covering tour Americas as well and there's a lot on the line coming up you have the corn fairy final placements you have PGA Tour America's final placements that what however those guys finish some of these guys will get their card yeah you know so there's there's big storylines coming up of some future Talent that's coming in in the way they've organized things that really like who knows who's going to come up next from that tour Americas and corn fairy tour that these guys are fighting for for spots I mean our our guy that we saw late in the year really take a turn that Neil Shipley yeah you know he's he's one of those guys there that he's proven that he can contend and be in some of these tournaments so there's going to be some Talent that we're going to see come out of those tournaments that you know I think is going to be exciting and I think is for better for worse for some people I think is the better part of some of these golf stories that you know you have guys that can climb the ladder and and this is their way in for sure for sure by the way Keegan Bradley was not
