well good morning and welcome on air Wagner it's the end of July the 30th it's been the hottest July we can remember uh 105 average days was not uh of the ordinary but we're in Oakland and typical Oakland has low overcast 600 overcast so like uh Jim in Colorado flying that surus like he knows you got to stay current fly IFR that's what we're going to do today so I'm going to do a video also to keep current and see what comes up on this flight to Auburn from Oakland so let's clear the Garmin PT pilot scratch Pad get ready for our clearance and we're going to call up clearance here 211 here in Oak test okay thank you Mrs Garmin or Miss Garmin or Ms Garmin or whatever we want let's get the AIS here first Oakland at information Echo 1553 Z wind visibility ner ceiling 600 overcast temperature 17 2 .16 altim 3 02 all right whole bunch of taxiway closures we got all that let's talk to clearance clearance good morning Golden Eagle 513 SI Juliet's IFR to Auburn ready to copy clearance Gold Eagle 513 CR Julet Oakland clearance you're clear to the Alburn Airport via the nimit 5 departure radar vectors vctor six Sacramento direct clim and maintain 3,000 expect 5,000 5 minutes after departure departy 120 point Niner and cl 4520 513 here je clear to the Auburn airport nits 5 radar vectors Victor 6 Sacramento direct 300 50005 minutes 120. Niner 4520 on the squawk golden eagles 3 juli Reb back correct 3 jul thanks all right we're going to go to ground I think he said I think Victor was the uh AIS we're going to guess ground good morning Golden Eagle 513 SE Julia taxi IFR Porta ports 28 right uh we I think we have Victor I think that's what it was and I think I had two more calling at the same time but I heard 513 s Julet at Porta port for taxi that's correct three s Juliet and gold three jul Runway right taxi Delta and Charlie ver Echo um I guess strong I have Echo 3 S Julia taxi 28 right Delta Charlie right and was there another calling okay so I should have checked what you know we got it it's the it's the atus look at the front window you can see that low gray overcast kind of glary still um but we're going to taxi now I'm looking straight ahead and it's nobody around okay so I'm gonna take one eyeball and go down here and put in the uh departure load procedure departure and I'm looking up I'm looking down looking up looking down nits 5 off a 28 right and Sacramento and we're going to load the departure okay that's it took what very short amount of time so we're going to uh continue our taxi you know with a 421 especially a c model or they're all the same engines the geared engines you don't want to go below a th000 on the RPM and invariably you're taxing to the runway with the Tailwind behind you and so it's hard to keep from taxiing too fast uh you you know you got to kind of ride the brakes you don't want to but unless you want a taxi a little too fast I mean our ground speed is 24 24 knots in the taxi um there isn't really a speed limit for taxiing but it's like everything else that this country is missing a lot of common sense oh who's calling me oh I got to take this good morning hi may I please speak to Jerry this is Jerry hi Jerry this is Lexi I'm calling from m a transport how are you today good good um Brett had asked me to reach out to you in regards to the chel you have consigned to the Montery auction yes um about getting you a transport quote for that yes here is that chel that's going to the meum auction in Monteray on thurs day August 15 what's estimated value of the chel just for insurance purposes 95,000 okay that's the reserve price okay got it all right sounds good thank you very much byebye no problem all right we're warmed up all important checklist time always do the checklist and my will do the checklist because no need setting up and getting ready to go unless uh we're good so we're going to do the checklist if you want to see the checklist search my videos for checklist we're going to do it off video right now off camera okay all important checklist is complete what you have to understand is you got to do the checklist and you got to be prepared you know this is a twin engine airpl playing a lot of moving Parts uh nuts and bolts we train to be prepared for emergencies and you have to plan your departure like you're going to have an emergency in this plane you know you have to you have to clean it up Gear Up flaps up uh identify verify feather the important thing is to get the gear up and feather it and then keep your air speed and then figure out the rest of it that's critical so we're going to be cognizant of that now we're going to set up the rest of our departure here so we're going to do Victor 6 which is off of Oakland's VR we're going to go ahead and put the Oakland VR in here as a backup and then we're going to do the course um take it off of this we're going to do the course of 022 that's what the uh V that's what the victor Airway is it'll be on our GPS also but this is our backup 022 put it back on uh GPS Victor 6 Sacramento 3,000 we're going to put 3,000 in here then 5,000 in 5 minutes 120. ner we got 4520 on the squawk and um I believe we're ready to go to we got the five POA Charlie in sight here we're ready to go IFR at 28 right3 here Jo put the heading on 315 and 3 say you ready 513 Ser J ready to go2 right by one all right while we're waiting we're just going to add Auburn as the final way point now on the way down here uh the even though I went through the checklist on land for the RF checklist it didn't capture the Glide slope so we're going to we're going to check that out today right now 315 heading and 3,000 he's probably letting that jet go firstof clear take off three Ser Jil two right okay time check transponder check traffic check DG double check on the runway full mixure we want flu fuel flow first and the high mid 40s High 40s is okay anywhere in the 40s is good high 30s if it's hot okay we're going to gently put the power in watching the fuel flow there's that push for the turbochargers 45 side is good air speed alive 70 80 90 and5 a little bit of back pressure the brakes get that Gear Up ignore that phone call fly on the 315 pit for Blue Line coordinated turn and roll out on 315 and it's a beautiful sight when you punch through the clouds on a daylight today keep power in till dep PR J Roger good morning Golden Eagle 53 here juliia checking on leaving n00 for 3, 315 go 513 contact climb maintain 5,000 5,000 now 3 here so I can't change the uh pre-select to 5,000 yet cuz I'm busy flying so we're going to put the uh we can do the power though 3 Juliet the uh last tops report was 1,600 3 Julie yeah the bases were 600 as advertised and tops appear to be uh 1,600 okay I see I was distracted got a little off course snap it back on course isn't that beautiful look outside look at that side outside beautiful blue sky put some power back and set the fuel up and set this to 5,000 all right now we're 2500 ft heading for 5,000 our temperatures looking good we're going to turn the fuel pumps off one at a time one alligator two alligator all right we're nice and set up a few degrees off let's go 3 jul turn right direct to the sa direct sack V 3 Juliet all right so now we're going direct to sack enter all it's a 02 Niner so we're going to put the the bug on Z 29ers 030 probably works and we're going to 5,000 we're still hand flying we got the temperature set up perfectly with the fuel we're keeping the climb going and we're heading direct to sack you can 029 you can also follow the magenta we're Blue Line plus 10 here because we're got good altitude we're going to 5,000 as I make the turn look out the right window you can see that beautiful layer of cloud and we'll reenter the needle cuz he gave us direct a sack that be the sack V sa Sierra Alpha Charlie and we've done enough hand flying let's go ahead and turn on the [Music] autopilot what I like to say is I paid good money for this autopilot I want to use it now we can fine-tune some of our settings the fuel flow and all of that got a headwind of two that was what was forecast here let's see if this is going to level off here at 5,000 as advertised here comes a nose down and it is Boom altitude all right look out the front window there's your beautiful Valley Straight Ahead uh it's going to be another scorcher coming up in a few days we get a reprieve from the triple digit weather for a while so like I said it pays to stay current cuz you need if you're going to be rated it's not just enough to do your minimum approaches and holdings and times and all that it's important to be comfortable and confident those two things are important well we have a we have a problem 513 apprach 199 513 s juli we have a problem number 513 here J I got you loud and clear Travis altim 2 ner ner 4 299 4 3 this is uh this is creepy as hell and bad guess what I just saw run across my panel in the circuit breaker panel a goddamn Mouse swear to God a little mouse where's a cat when you need it well this is going to be a problem going to have to trap them or do something with them because you know what they do they chew wires first time I ever saw a mouse in here well that Mouse is going to that Mouse is going to sorry to say oh I got the great idea we got foxes in our in our are we're going to capture the mouse and let the fox uh have them over for dinner how's that yeah I don't like rodents I I don't know is it a mouse or is it a lizard lizard I don't like lizards either there was some lizards in the hanger but what I'm thinking is there's no way they can get in the plane it's a pressurized cockpit the pressurized fuselage how are they getting in the plane the the stair door doesn't touch the ground um I guess it could climb up the up the gear under the wing get on top and jump across I don't think so I have to go to the harbor store and find a a lizard trap oh that's good I got a job for Robert Robert you get a catch and find the creature in the plane doesn't belong there all right what's the temperature outside 73 what's the temperature and Auburn all right we got to get the fly in here enough with the other stuff okay Waypoint info weather okay uh Auburn 1635 Zulu that's a while back 17 minutes ago win 2704 visibility 1 Z clear temperature 25 which would be 95s + 32 so you take 25 ID 5 is 5 * 9 is 45 + 32 is 77 so that's pretty good good or you double it and add 30 which is 80 so 77 is correct do Point Niner altimeter 3 tri0 but a 74 here so I'm going to put the AC on low I guess you could call it an unwanted passenger all right that's on my foot the freak son of a all right all we got a problem here we 3 jul traffic 11:00 8 miles Southeast to Skyhawk 4,500 3 Juliet looking for the traffic GE many crystal I got to look for traffic I got to look for creatures she my God okay uh let's do a trip around let do a trip around the g600 here as soon as I find this traffic right he's five miles away Sky 04 Victor that previous traffic's 1:00 6 miles north eastbound CES 421 5000 looking for the traffic November 3 J traffic 11:00 4 miles Southeast out of Skyhawks St outou below 4,500 3 still looking for the traffic negative contact we're confirmed 5,000 traffic 11:00 low 2 miles all right I'm looking I'm looking I'm looking SK 04 Victor traffic 1:00 2 miles north eastbound assess 421 5,000 Rog 3 jul traffic's 11:00 about a mile and a half Southeast bound of Sky 4,500 has you sight and 33 has the 11:00 mov to 10:00 traffic below me inside will maintain visual separation remember three J Roger contact noral approach 12525 have a good day 12525 3 SE JY thanks and nor good morning Golden Eagle 513 juli check on 5000 513 one minute weather Auburn 2997 will advise on the weather and we'd like to do the arav Runway 7 today for 3 Jil or S what you like uh let's uh let's just do sits if I can get a straight in for 3 straight in direct s direct sits three okay load procedure approach Arnav vectors sitsu no course reversal load and activate all so we're heading that way let's go through the G6 while we're at it as I'm checking for freaking creatures in my here in in here okay it's 9:58 in the morning 66° out headwind one crosswind for True air speed 1 n or 1 indicating 173 ground speed 1 18 or9 18 n heading for sitsu we're coordinated here's our course 011 uh we're bugged at 2500 we don't need that that uh we're going to cross ccue at 3,000 that already picked that up we're currently level at 5,000 straight in level wind's coming from over here you can see our our position here all right little bastard okay okay let's get back to Flying okay now for the power settings yeah I got I got the power in here pretty good I got uh 33 Ines of amif full pressure 1,00 RPM 23 and half 23 gallons an hour averaging 4 m a gallon everything's cool 1548 1556 on the tis and uh everything else is good let's get the one minute weather on Auburn Auburn Municipal Airport automated weather observation 165 Niner zul win variable at 49 visibility more than than 1 0 Sky condition clear below 12,000 temperature 2 6 c d Point ner Celsius altimeter 3 0 0 0 in of mercury remark density altitude 3 3 0 0 roal 3 Ser Juliet has the one minute weather at Opera okay um this a good distraction for keeping uh your eye on the ball okay uh ignore that other unwanted passenger okay let's do the RNA checklist okay load the approach done brief the approach plate let's go over to here Flight Plan zip it over zoom in okay the rav for Auburn it's uh in on course z 68 airport elevations 1538 touchdown Zone 1532 uh circling not available for 25 at night this approach climb to 5,000 direct apy and left turn track 311 to Uka and on track to mergo and hold but doesn't say anything in the in the approach plate about looking for a creature in the ground there okay uh what do we got for Crossings we got yaty and situ both of them are 3,000 and that's what we got over here we have minimum is 1848 so we're going to put that in set minimum barometric pressure 1848 also the year that Auburn was uh made a city or the capital or gold rush or something the Cherokee Rob knows all about that okay so we did that brief your approach plate set minimum on course activate vectors to final take it off GPSs arm the approach confirm Glide slope capture Glide slope didn't work yesterday so we're going to have to um double check that okay I expect we're going to get lower here cuz the crossings there were're 9 minutes to sitsu all right so we're going to have to figure out how to flush out this creature let's see do we have a smoke machine we can smoke we can put smoke into the crevices and cracks and see what runs out okay so uh when you're flying IFR you got to you know have weather at your destination you got to have a plan if you if you need an alternate you got to have alternate in M4 274 3 here [Applause] Jo see I'm pred this guy I'll say hello after he tricks in let's see noral good morning Golden Eagle 53 here Joy checking on 5000 directu contacte who I step on3 513 Jil nor hello 3 Jil see told you told you you get to know the controllers uh stop looking for the creature there jeez okay okay so uh we're seven minutes we seven minutes to sitsu we're going to do a straight in because cisu you're coming from a different direction uh you have to do a course reversal because uh I don't know what the angle is there's only so much of an intercept that you can do looking at the vertical speed required on the gtn 750 it is uh 2 300 ft a minute but they haven't given us lower yet but I know they're going to give us 3,000 so we're going to prepare for that and we're going to follow the AR have checklists when an inbound course activate vectors to final so that's uh there's a couple ways of doing that I'm just going to set up for the two ways let's count the numbers away you hit the uh menus one then you hit the procedures two and then you hit uh activate vectors of final is three that's one way to do it three three buttons here's another way it press on that once two activate Vector final three so there's three pushes to get activate vectors to final now you could leave it on the second one and just have that but I have traffic on there I hope this guy's enjoying his flight it might be the last day on Earth five minutes to sitsu I'd like lower please soon as I get lower I'll reduce the power jend maintain 4,000 apprach 125 point 254 and a frequency 4,000 on the altitude 513 serg Marv track 208 clear approach marille clear approach no good morning Golden Eagle 5 and3 S Julia checking on descending out of 4,900 for 4,000 going toitu 513 maintain 3,000 3,000 3 J okay there he goes 3,000 that's our Crossing just go down and get iter track 208 on the Mist you can resume all navigation return this frequenc four minutes to situ okay 3500 advis Frey negative contact on the lizard or the mouse11 on the M the publish you know we're only doing 213 knots across the ground so I I can you know multitask I can look for a mouse and uh and fly the plane November 3ul cross to at 3,000 cleared straight and approach Au 3 Jew cross at 3,000 clear for the approach Au okay so we're going to situ straight in approach warri 4312 it's pretty simple approach from here let's check the wind again air automated weather observation 1 [Music] 1 at all right variable at five is the wind so you really want to be at your approach settings Juliet report cancellation IFR on this frequency or on the ground with a phone number do you have that number 3 Juliet I have the number we're VFR conditions we can cancel IFR now 3 Roger cancellation is receiv and squawk VFR frequency 10 approv 3 Squawk on VFR and uh talk to you next time so [Applause] long Al traffic Golden Eagle 5 and3 SI Juliet it's 12 to the south on the approach for Runway 7 full stop Auburn okay now we're going to activate Vector the final how was your flight Jerry so far so good except I got a critter running around the cockpit somewhere activate vector mouse or lizard I haven't heard that one before yeah it's uh little creepy they don't need much Auburn traffic SK 98 6 golf final Runway 25 Auburn full stop uh anybody waiting to leave on 25 at Auburn no you're all good uh we're just going to do one more lap of the pattern after this okay if I can like to line straight in seven the timing should work out okay so we did all that we activated vectors the final um now we have to arm the approach okay that's the next thing on the that's what I forgot uh last trip here so we're arm the approach Bo tra Golden Eagle 53 Ser Julius 8 to the West on the approach for Runway 7 planning on Full Stop straight in Runway 7 auert all right so we got the Arn checklist done uh take it off GPSs arm the approach we've done that confirm Glide slope capture that's our next thing is to confirm the Glide slope capture if not we have to hand fly it here's the rnaf checklist you can pause it and see all the items on it and we're set up here let's do our Popa gumps pressurization check air conditioner off prop syn off never had it on auxiliary pumps on gas on Main cross feed off next will be the end Carriage now we're coming up on Yad FEI a good time to put the gear down is when you reach the uh approach fix there start your way down Au traffic skyw 98 60 golf clear of 25 Auburn Au C gold go 53 Ser 6 to the West on the approach for Runway 7 planning on a straight end Runway 7 full stop arm all how far we're 30 seconds from sitsu uh yat yat not situ we're inside of situ waiting for the for the Glide slope to capture speed's perfect traic Skye 262 Zulu about 2 miles east of the airport go to overly pick a Runway Orland airport that's Orland uh Glide slopes captured all right gear we're going to be coming down here in 8 seconds we're putting the gear down I a golden eagle 53 here joints 5 miles out on the approach for Runway 7 straight in Full Stop Auburn Runway 7 okay got three greens first Notch of flaps we're taking it down 1848 which is minimums so we got underc Carriage mixture props where we want them that's it tra gold 53 Ser J 3 m fer Runway 7 full stop offer we on glide Lo localizer Glide slope localizer Glide slope localizer Glide slope yeah it's an Arnav but it sounds better localizer Glide slope if that was a ILS 2,100 so we're inside of the circle of land 1848 what we're looking for tra Golden Eagle 5 and3 SE juliets 1 and a half mile final Runway 7 full stop Auburn Runway 7 1900 1960 hey Jerry uh you want to sold short in the ren up area for you in case you got to get off at the end no we I'll be good appreciate it there's 18 there's minimum minim full flaps all right we can follow the Glide slope in you know good rule to have is follow the the B the [Applause] baz all right we're on the Glide slow below it but we're good we're a visual now three green full flaps good speed here at Auburn that's an uphill on Runway 7 you just want to let the runway come up to you but we're going to put it down there it is nice and smooth D would love that one okay there goes Charlie intersection we'll make Bravo no problem off traffic Golden Eagle 5 and3 Ser juli's cleared all runways going to parking off thanks for riding along there's Robert he's going to he's going to be on the hunt the Critter hunt this you got a see to believe
