hold on to your hats folks jod grham a British Archer with a bun in the oven just made history she's the first openly pregnant athlete to compete in the par Olympic Games and guess what she snagged a bronze medal in the women's individual compound bow finals you go girl this wasn't just any win jod was up against some tough cookies including her fellow Brit Phoebe Patterson Pine talk about a close call jod managed to Edge her out for the bronze this just goes to show you pregnancy doesn't stop a woman on a mission jod says her little one was kicking up a storm throughout the entire competition I guess they wanted that medal too her win is a giant leap for women athletes everywhere it's proof that you can chase your dreams no matter what life throws your way or who's kicking you from the inside now archery is all about Focus it's like trying to thread a needle in a hurricane you've got wind pressure and a crowd full of people who are way too quiet but jod had an extra challenge a tiny human practicing their tap dancing skills inside her belly she admitted to being a little worried at first I mean who wouldn't be one minute you're aiming for a bullseye the next you're feeling like you're in a bouncy castle but jod and her coach were not about to let a little thing like pregnancy stop them they came up with a genius plan during practice her coach would poke her bump just like the baby was doing talk about method acting this helped jod stay calm and collected even even when her little one was putting on a show Jody's Journey to the Paralympics was no walk in the park she's a fighter this one she and her partner went through the heartache of three miscarriages before welcoming their first child into the world and their little miracle decided to make an early entrance arriving at just 28 weeks their son spent his first weeks in an incubator breathing With a Little Help From a nebulizer talk about a tough start then during this pregnancy jod had another Scare at 28 weeks the baby stopped moving can you imagine talk about terrifying they rushed her to the hospital in Paris where she stayed for two long days doctors were on standby ready for anything Jody's partner even had the baby bag packed just in case but through it all jod never gave up she was determined to compete no matter what now that's what I call a true champion section four a nail-biting finish for bronze jod SA through the elimination rounds like a boss she even got perfect scores in her first two matches this girl was on fire but then came the semifinals and she was up against osner Cura Gertie a Turkish Archer who was no slouch osner went on to win the gold which meant Jody was facing off against her teammate Phoebe for the bronze talk about a nailbiter both women were amazing shooting arrows like they were going out of style Phoebe took the lead and the pressure was on it all came down to the very last arrow and guess what Phoebe missed jod had done it you could see the relief and joy wash over her face she threw her arms up in the air and the crowd went wild section five inspiring women everywhere you go girl Jody's story is an inspiration to women everywhere she's proving that we can do it all you want to be an athlete and a mom go for it you want to chase your dreams while growing a human being you got this Jody's message is clear listen to your body talk to your doctor and don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do she's breaking down barriers and showing the world that women are a force to be reckoned with so to all you ladies out there pregnant or not this one's for you you are powerful you are capable and you can achieve anything you set your mind to go out there and make jod proud section six a legacy of resilience and baby bumps jod grinham isn't just an athlete she's a symbol of Hope and determination she's shown the world that anything is possible if you set your mind to it and never give up on your dreams even when life throws you a curveball or a baby her Legacy will live on inspiring future generations of athletes mothers and anyone who dares to dream big she's proof that with hard work dedication and a whole lot of heart you can overcome any obstacle and Achieve greatness and who knows maybe we'll be seeing a whole lot more baby bumps on the podium in the years to come thanks for watching and remember to like And subscribe
