LIVE: Alex Van Pelt Addresses Media, Rookie Wide Receivers Shine | Patriots Beat

[Music] [Music] all right everyone welcome back into another LIVE edition of the Patriots beat podcast here on the clns media Network presented by our wonderful friends over at prize picks in game time it is Brian Hines back as always with Alex bar day 19 of Patriots training camp is in the books we are almost across the Finish Line one more day of practice uh it was a long day at Gillette today they practiced nearly two and a half hours Unfortunately they weren't in full pads but they're still in this kind of hybrid practice week as they're game prepping with scout team stuff and their player evaluating so a practice and a lot of important information before practice because we talked to the Patriots offensive assistant coaches for the first time since the spring uh obviously lots of Drake May and quarterback talk with Alex velt TC McCartney got some good wide receiver stuff out of Tyler Hughes and velt as well so uh we'll talk about all what they had to say and uh some things that happened in practice as well but starting as always with the quarterbacks with Drake May uh Alex velt TC McCartney seemed like they were very encouraged by the progress that the rookie has been making specifically with the footwork you know tying his eyes to his feet and stuff like that but it still seems pretty clear from what they had to say and from again the Reps on the practice field today which we can get into that jacobe brassette is the starting quarterback Alex Vel even said like someone asked why isn't Drake May getting more reps with the ones and he said jacobe he's our starter so still feels pretty clear that week one it's most likely going to be jacobe Brett at this point yeah it seems Seems like things are trending that way and I some of the reasons they're giving out as for why uh why Drake May isn't repping more with the ones like makes sense and some of the things they want to see from him like I understand that thought process but this is within your control I think he even said like we'd like to see him out there with the starters more you know it's that I think you should leave me with the guy in the the banana suit right we're all trying or in the hot dog suit W we're all looking for the guy who did this trying to find the guy who's not letting Drake May rep with the ones right so I understand the process I think it's the right process I just do they want him to start week one or not because they're operating like they don't want him to start week one which is fine by the way which is fine they're operating like they're taking him along slowly but then they're saying well it's a competition we just need to see him more with the ones but then they're not putting him with the ones so it's not really a competition again I I i' like the process I've said I would give him a month and would give him a month really more so mean give the team a month to get ready for him I'd give him a month but then don't tell us that when we can clearly see there's no competition I don't know why they're leaving that door but in Van Pelton do it as bad as Mayo he was asked about Mayo saying it's a competition and basically just referred back to those comments I wouldn't say he like added anything on his own which is probably the right call in his situation but yeah I mean the plan's clear as day they're just not acknowledging it that to me is what's going on here yeah it seems pretty set that they're ready to let him sit at least a month right we were talking week five a lot yesterday right uh and a lot of that feels like command of the Playbook command of the Huddle even though gerod said you know he's 100% confident that may could run a huddle like listening to those guys I have the quote from uh AP today and he said you know there are certain things in this offense that jacobe having played in this offense before you understand some of the tools that uh you know you get to use in certain situations pressure situations things like that you know just going back to the experience jacobe has in this offense again he spent 2022 with them played 11 games under Van Pelt uh TC McCartney even mentioned you know you're limited and the kind of defenses you get to see in training camp you know you get more of those exotic looks and different defenses As you move into the regular season so maybe take a month you see some of those other defenses on film you know he obviously won't be out there jacobia will be out there and maybe he gets a little bit more comfortable still in the huddle with command of the little things in the offense and then you kind of turn it over that seemed like one of their bigger selling points today was just again the experience that you would expect a guy like jacobe brassette to have and that seemed like one of the big things working in Bret's favor right now yeah and it's not surprising either again this is kind of what we expected coming in but it makes sense they want Drake they're not going to this goes back to something we talked about I think on the crossover Brian if I remember correctly that jacobe Brett's progress should not impact Drake May's timeline and I think that's essentially what what we're seeing is Drake May is playing better but and and maybe job's playing a little worse but there are just still certain boxes that he clearly isn't checked could they give more opportunities to check those boxes yes and that's a separate discussion but the reality is there even though he looks good there are boxes that they want him to check that he hasn't checked yet and he's not going to start until he checks those boxes so is do you think those box are just kind of more the mental side of the game because yeah everything on the field that we've seen in Camp and in the preseason it's been very impressive so you think that's just the mental side of things he needs to check off yeah I I I think it's that I think it's that and just kind of wanted to see have him see a game week and see what that looks like and he can't check that box until the regular season because there's no games so yeah I it's it it's the mental side and just I think getting more immersed in the offense he said something interesting yesterday um talking about one of those quarterback coaches at us and see that something he does is when he learns the offense the way he kind of retains it is to teach it to other rookies right teach it back to people which is a really good way to do something you ask anybody who knows me personally when I'm trying to learn the draft class I don't shut up about it because I'll be tell like my brother about these different players or whatever but um you know I think that's kind of a sign that that they're it's all going to kind of come together we've also seen them we'll talk about Kane Wallace maybe a little hesitant to put him in Jaylen pul is really the only rookie that seems to be getting an opport like the early opportunities right now and I just think these guy they want these guys to be more immersed in it and and you know know it like the back of their hand before they they re they give them the real opportunities so do you think you just saying that like to go back to March or February we hear Elliot wolf say we're going to play all the young kids we're going to draft and develop I don't I don't know is that just kind of weird that we're here now or do you think it's it's simply just like they're not ready yet to see the field and you know there there's more to it than just we're gonna throw the young kids out there and let them play yeah draft draft and develop may not mean draft and develop like this could be draft and develop they're developing and play the kids could mean we're going to put them on the field at times but it doesn't necessarily mean give them the most reps or start them right away it just means play them so it's perspective perspective maybe we took that comment a little too extremely I think it's not the right word but you know what I'm saying like maybe we didn't parse that common as much as we should have maybe we didn't look for context in that as much as we should have at the time but this is I this is definitely a draft and develop strategy and that part's true draft and develop does not necessarily mean play from week one it means draft and develop there's nothing in there about playing time yep but um yeah it seems like again it's just the mental kind of side of things that's separating jacobe from Drake right now because a lot of talk too about you know his footwork playing under Center which is two big things in this offense we talked so much about Drake May's uh footwork coming you know before the draft coming out of North Carolina it was such a big point of emphasis whether right or Ron I thought TC McCartney you know gave a really good answer on that and you know he said what they asked him to do at North Carolina it wasn't Ron necessarily it was just different than what we wanted him to do here so it was very easy you know to train him the right way and they think it's worked out just fine so it feels like you know we've seen the progress in person if you're watching on TV you know if you watched them at North Carolina now you're watching them here like you can see the progress in the footwork under Center you know I thought it was good that Alex velt said you know our offense is based a lot out of under Center in our Run game but we want our quarterbacks to feel comfortable so if we want Drake May in the shotgun a little bit more as you saw against Philly I think 11 dropbacks and only one was under s Center like we're going to make these guys comfortable and kind of adapt right our scheme isn't just going to be our scheme we'll adapt to these things so those were two big things with May coming into this offense and I think those were encouraging signs to hear that from you know AP and TC there today yeah yeah I would agree uh I would agree with that I I think sorry did you say taekwan in there I kind of cut out no I was just on Drake still like Drake yeah yeah sorry the under Center that type of stuff yeah the under Center thing is the big thing and I I think the big takeaway from the last two days between both van pelp and Mayo Mayo had the comment yesterday about he thinks Drake's ready to to run a huddle now I I that doesn't mean start a game there's a difference there and I think some people jumped ahead but Mayo saying he's ready to run huddle some of the stuff in Pelt said today about his progress maybe eliminates the conversation of the the the buffer quarterback as we've been calling it maybe eliminates having that veteran that if ja Kobe BR gets hurt and you have to put Drake May in early I do wonder if they're comfortable with Drake May's the backup and at this point it's like well he's going to have to learn this stuff one way or the other we'd rather he learn it in the the VR room in the practice field but if you ask and learn it in a game so be it I wonder if they're at that point I still think the timeline should be the timeline injury shouldn't be a part of it but I think what we're hearing is that at the very least he's gonna be the backup and if job BR gets hurt it's just the timeline's going to move up yep he he's he said it yesterday he's qb2 right like if something happens to Jobe he he's up so um those are the big things mechanically just the last other mechanical thing TC mentioned was they're not going to adjust his throwing motion I know that was another big thing that people uh pointed to coming out of the draft he's got kind of the the big wind up maybe something that he does with a quarterback coach on his own time but they're pretty comfortable with how he throws the ball so um yeah just seem positive with his mechanics so uh anything else on May or jacobe specifically from any of the coaches today uh I think that's pretty much it from the coaches we can talk about May's performance but we can get into that all right so to the field with the quarterbacks still jaob do you want sorry do you want to do that or do you want it because there's one other thing Van Pelt said today that was notable oh with taekwon yeah okay we yeah we can do that first we can just hit on the coach stuff but um we've talked about taekwon I think we were talking about it on yesterday sorry we can do quarterbacks I just I want to make sure no we can just do taekwon all right all right we'll get back to quarterbacks we'll tease more quarterback talk later because you know that wants to hear the quarterback talk but um I think yesterday we were on here saying do we buy into taekwon again because he is running with the starters he really seems like their top X receiver and we asked or we asked Alex Vel today and he had a lot of praise for him I don't have the exact quote I don't know if you have it up but I'm trying to find it yeah give me a second he mentioned his ability to you know separate you know deep down field OB obviously the speed is a factor even Tyler Hughes said uh the receivers coach said not only like his lawn speed but he's become a better route runner in the short and intermediate areas of the field as well so the playing time suggests tawon is going to be on the roster and now the compliments from the coaching staff and the good words from the coaching staff like he's on the roster and and he's going to have a rooll week one as long as he's healthy going forward yeah talked about and and where's Great his ability to separate is special his speed downfield and he also mentioned he's been more competitive at the catch point this summer mentioned how he's put that weight on they clearly want him to be the ex they clearly want him to be a big part of the offense and do I think his performance has earned that this Camp no do I think in some ways he's the best fit for that role if you just look at it yes but here's what's what concerns me I think I talked about this yesterday but I talked about it on a show yesterday I don't remember if it was this one I think it was this one too many shows too many days all same we're almost done here one more day um I I'm concerned about them you know fitting taekwon into a key role in the offense because you can't count on him to be out there and if you think your offense needs tawon Thorton that's concerning because you're probably not gonna have him for 17 games yeah and that's where I get worried is them penciling him into that big of a role when durability has been an issue I know he put on more weight I know that's supposed to help but it just does worry me how much it seems like they plan on relying on him this year yep I mean he has survived the ground a few times so that's been positive that's been improvements but yeah he hasn't I don't think he's taken a hit in a preseason game right because the one Target in the first game was overthrown I don't think he had a catch last week right against Philly so I don't think he's taking a hit in kind of live action yet so uh we'll keep looking there someone asked to jvon Baker tawon Thorton tawan's ran over him he's probably been more impressive too it's been kind of the downward directory for Javon Baker lately so uh he's pretty clearly ahead of um I would say at this point taekwon ahead of Jayvon Baker so um yeah I would agree with that but yeah we're doing taekwon for now it looks like so um tawan's on the roster and lots of Praise there so uh let's take one very quick break we'll hear from our friends over at prize picks and then we will get back to a little bit more of what happened in today's practice down there at Gillette prize pick is America's before we get to today's practice I want to pull this up just good like discussion Point Lo says how cool it it be to see Bourne pop and taekwon as the top three where do you think Kendrick Bourne kind of fits into this when he comes back because what we've seen in practice with him on pup has been taekwon at the Popp in the slot and then it's been pretty consistent of late Jaylen pulk and KJ Osborne are kind of rotating at that Z Spot so when Kendrick Bourne you know he's another one of those kind of Z guys where do you see him kind of fitting in when he comes back is there a more of a rotation at X or how do you just kind of see that unfolding some of it's going be based on performance obviously I think X is a real conversation for Bourne but if Osborne's not so Osborne and pul have been two of their better rece receivers I would say in Camp so you'd think he'd fit in there at the Z but clearly they're they're in pretty good shape there so does the rotation come at the x or does he go to the Z and maybe pulk plays the x or even Osborne plays the X Van Pelt said today they're comfortable playing Osborne really at any of the wide receiver positions I I I I know it's a copout answer I hate to give it but it does feel like it's going to come down to Performance and just who's the odd man out four or five weeks in whenever it is yep someone might go down too obviously that's not ideal but we' talked about tawon injury history maybe something happens yeah I would expect performance and a lot of rotations I think that's the big thing you're going to see a lot of rotations in and out of there but um to today's practice we can go back to the quarterbacks because it was still the jacobe brasset kind of show there you know first up on all the team periods little bit more of Drake May running with the ones he took six total snaps from David Andrews four of them were passes I think yesterday he took three total snap Ms and they were all run so a little bit more of an improvement are you doesn't seem like he's making a push for the starting job based off everything the coaches had to say but are you reading it as maybe they are opening the door still a little bit here or this still felt like again a regular season practice you know non-padded with the cards scout team defense they're just getting them ready to be qb2 and maybe get a series or two with the starters Sunday night in the preseason finale yeah I I it still feels like they're getting him ready for just Sunday and the the the fact they're giving him such few reps he finally threw today but it was nothing past the line of scrimmage it this doesn't feel like those those quality starter reps both coaches have talked about when talking about Drake May needing to be ready for for a regular season start this just feels like let's just get everybody on the same page for Sunday night and then I I think when they go back behind closed doors next week it's going to go back to being uh uh more or less exclusive ly jacobe brassette yep I could see it keeping like that in the regular season right because you still want brasset or you still want May to get a few reps here and there with the starters and it's still you know jacobe taking the most I didn't tally up his but he still you know dominates the ones and and then May comes in for like two or three plays there at the end of each period so I think that would be a good way to kind of carry that into the regular season so you're still getting May some experience and time with those guys so um I I like that rotation again if they're starting Bret so but anything performance- wise out of those two just again felt more of the same what we've seen Brett was better today he had a a deep Connection in KJ Osborne that was a good throw didn't feel like he was spraying it quite as much may was good again May was good again when he threw I thought the big thing today he was throwing a lot outside the numbers and really showcasing that arm strength and zipping the ball some harder to reach parts of the field had a good Deep Over deep Crosser to Jaylen pul as well he's he's just throwing the ball really well right now and again that mental stuff's gonna have to come but physically he's looked the part yep the only thing working on in Bret's favor on the field I think still is that final like one minute two minute Hur yeah that's a good point I I meant to bring that up because they did another one they ended practice again today and brassette led a one two three four five six seven play drive it was 101 on the clock started at like the 35 yard line brassette led a seven playay field goal Drive couple spikes in there too and then which is pretty consistent he's been leading mostly field goal drives and I think he had one touchdown Drive even earlier in the summer so he's been good in those situations and then it goes to May and it's kind of a complete different story I mean today his first pass kind of forced it into Jem Bell but it hit off his hands or chest bounced into the air and was intercepted by Tristan Hill so just one play and it was over and that's been again kind of a reoccurring theme where in those hurry up situations brassette has some success and may he's working with the twos it's fair to point out but he just hasn't had those that that success in that final hurry up situation really throughout the whole summer here yeah that's been one constant and I wonder if that that goes to the mental side because it feels like he's very rushed it feels like he's very fed up he's not thinking things through in those situations and I wonder if that's part of what's concerning for the coach is that when you get the livest Reps of Camp which are those one minute or two minute situations that's where he's been at his weakest yep I still would have liked to see them I I don't know it it the Philly game he led like the two scoring drives and then they could have got the ball back with like 40 seconds left and they took it into the locker room which like I got because it was back-to-back good drives right like end on a positive but it would have been kind of nice to see like two timeouts 40 seconds and live action one of those hurry-up drills but uh I I don't blame them too much because again take a positive into the locker room at that point but yeah that's been again just kind of a reoccurring theme that this Summer that he struggled in those situations so um that kind of continued today but uh any last thoughts on the quarterback or we can go else quarterbacks yeah I think that's pretty much it on the quarterbacks yep um let's go to the offensive line moving guys all over the place again today vidan low was out he's reportedly dealing with kind of a minor oblique injury that he suffered yesterday so he was out so we saw chuk a COR for flip back over to the left side Big Mike on W kick out to the right side and leaden Robinson who's been you know gaining some momentum here steps in for Big Mike at at Right Guard Alex Van Pelt said they hope to solidify this starting five after this preseason game do you think that's what it's going to be or could V and low get healthy and and switch that up just what's going on on the offensive line right now yeah so it sounds like Low's going to be healthy for week one and I I just still feel like that's the line they want given how much time they've given it but whatever the group is either even either it's kanad Wallace at left tackle like we saw when low went out yesterday or it's this mik on Wu right tackle line with L Robinson in the lineup if either one of them play well it's it's kind of like I've talked about with the quarterbacks if one of those groups works even if they go back to V daring low at some point if he's struggling you now know you have another group in your back pocket and and maybe it it forces their hand a little bit early so it'll be an interesting opportunity it'll be interesting to see what they go with on Sunday night but I the on winning line like I get getting leaden Robinson in I just a 350 pound tackle in this offense is asking a lot it's really asking a lot of any offense honestly yeah that's true so I I don't maybe they're not ready for Kaden Wallace and I get he's still kind of raw and this ultimately goes back to you should have added some actual freaking tackles in the off season to be ready for this kind of situation but I just get nerous because if you move Michael wi out to tackle and he struggles that's your one kind of Blue Chip lineman and if he's not playing at a blue chip level now you're really in trouble you you lose that anchor I know it's David Andrews but mik and wenu you know in terms of just ability is the anchor of this line right now so if you lose that I'd be worried I'd like to see more looks with Kaden Wallace at left see what that looks like or even Wallace at left or even Wallace at right and O cor for at left which again they had him over there today so we know that he's comfortable but I think it is just good to see that uh that it's going to be good for them to see other combinations and hopefully they find one they like and maybe it it it forc them to move on from Daran low who we I think we both agree just has not had a good summer and I'll say is yes Orlando Brown's 350 he's also an unreal athlete and has been playing that position for most of his life yeah so it's a there's a reason he's so good that kind of skill is rare he's not a guard at heart who has struggled at times at tackle you know with athletic speed rushers along the edge and stuff like that but yeah I wonder if you know again it was a non-padded practice today so I wonder if they said let's go with this lineup just to see a second look because yesterday when the pads were on it was just plug andplay Kaden Wallace for vieran La they like they didn't Shuffle everything around so I wonder if they they took that today as you know a non-padded practice you know they were doing that contingency thing last week flipping through all these rotations I wonder if that's just what what their plan was kind of today but um yeah again they said they want to solidify this thing after Sunday's game we move that timeline back a little bit from earlier in the summer but right uh that's where we're at that's the tackles down and all these guys moving spots so hopefully they you know vieran low is back seems like you hope he's back that seems to be their ideal left tackle then they figure everything else out um with that lineup up front but um that was really it offensive line uh quick with pass catchers big day for jayen pke weed talked about him a little bit earlier uh still repping with the top offense and kind of made his Mark six targets five catches most in the short to intermediate area like nothing flashy but then you know he had a nice connection downfield that you hinted at earlier uh with Drake May so I feel like that's just what you're GNA get with jayen pulk and not a bad thing I think you would take that all the time on Sundays from him yeah that's kind of what he needs to be and it was there's that deep over but it was nothing super explosive he's kind of running the underneath stuff that's created by the more explosive routes that you know guys like taon Thorton are running and that's what he's going to be he's going to be a high volume Target he's going to be a chain mover and he looks like he's developing good chemistry with both quarterbacks which is big and just it's it's about consistency with him he's going to have to be consistent and you saw today different looks different formations different quarterbacks it didn't really matter he was able to just go out there and and make plays time and time and time again you do it more than one practice right but that's kind of what you want to see from Jaylen pulk today felt like a good representation of I think the player they drafted him to be definitely yeah two catches from jacobe three from Drake so on the same page it looks like with both of those guys that's encouraging um because it looks like he's going to see the field pretty early and often here which is good to see from from a second round rookie there so um encouraging for jayen pulk we talked about taekwon uh at the top there still repping with the top guys Osborne pop still two anything else receivers uh Jaylen rager give him some credit had two really nice catches kick start jacobe Brett's one minute drive there but anything else you can lump tight ends into this too anything else uh from those pass catchers today I think that's pretty much it it was pul got most of the attention I would say is it pop talked about the drop he had yesterday and admitted he could have caught the ball if he tried with two hands but he only caught he only tried one that was on the big play from from Drake May so uh call that whatever you want to call it but um that was probably my one other my one other takeway was him he had a great line he goes practice makes perfect but that wasn't perfect that wasn't perfect yeah good old pop he's always smiling always laughing he's asked about that again today too just he's always in a good mood good energy on that offense but um before we wrap up with just a little bit on the defense some stuff on special team game time we all love going to football games live it's beginning to feel like football weather outside and it's we it's going to Gillette to see the Patriots or any college running against a scout team offense uh bayy zappy running a lot of Zone reads pretending to be the commanders there um I think the big thing defensively was Del Pettis gerod Mayo talked about it yesterday that he's making a good push here to make the roster two pass breakups today uh in coverage on Jem Bell both the one that you know got intercepted by Drake May and another one that jacobe Bret almost threw an interception so the arrow kind of keeps pointing up here for Del Pettis yeah he just keeps making plays he keeps being near the ball and that's how you make the team and Mayo mentioned his special teams ability as well they're not going to have dedicated special teamers this year so that's certainly helps I think he's played his way onto the roster and again just those guys especially at the safety position if you can just prove you have a knack for getting to the football when you need to be there generally that gets you to a certain Baseline level play in the NFL so I like what I've seen from him he keeps making plays and I think he's going to be here yep uh again not much on defense so just some attendance stuff still no Josh still know oane ZZ they were both kind of they were out there in their jerseys but participating in full so we'll see about that um Arman Watts non-participant he's been kind of in and out over the last few days do you have him on your roster right now again one first free agent signings there but Arman watts in the middle of the defense I don't see how he makes the team he's we've talked about this he's just getting outperformed by players at his position Jeremiah Farms Tristan Hill who had the interception today on a pass broken up by Del Pettis those guys just been better and you're not they're not going to keep that many defensive tackles cuz you have Devon gcha you have Daniel qual at the top of that depth chart you going to keep him as the fifth defensive tackle when we think realistically they could C carry seven receivers or Seven Corners Are You Gonna Keep Arman Watts over Isaiah Balden or kaan booty or somebody like that like I just don't see it yeah tough to see um and then one injury in the secondary Mikey Victor went out pretty or like halfway through practice looked like his lower leg ankle but he just walked out so yeah hit to the secondary there with Michael Mikey Victor we'll see what happens with him but um yeah I think that's it defensively right yeah tough uh quiet day from that end probably a good sign but um let's wrap up with some special teams first off Bryce baringer was unbelievable today he had a period where they were kicking around right around the 50 yard line nine punts every single one was down inside the 20 several of them were down inside the five he's been outstanding this summer and just that punt today we were standing next to each other even Taylor was into it like standing next to us he he took his breath away a few times so just shout out to briy baringer he he was awesome today in that session yeah he was really good and he's gonna be one of their better players this year I know people roll their eyes at that but he he's going to be in the allpro conversation if he punts like this throughout the season yep and then wrap up with kickers Chad Ryland got the one minute drill kick into the skinny goal post so bonus points for him 47 yards uh into the skinny post he made it and then but couldn't really build on the momentum to end practice uh they went four kicks as they usually do back on the regular goal post Chad went two of four missed from 37 and 49 Sly went three of four missed from 42 every kick was missed wide right there was a steady left to right Breeze we called it out there but um yeah probably another good sign there or another step in the right direction for Joey Sly to cement himself as the guy he continues to look like the better Kicker he does and it's I I just don't see how they keep Ryland at this point and I get it he was a fourth round draft pick and you made the investment and all of that you need to win games and Joey s is going to help you win games I think the the thing with Ryland is do you keep on the practice squad I think they will keep a kicker on the practice squad because with s like he's a guy that's been up and down in his career and you want somebody ready in case he cools off is Ryland that guy or do they just go find somebody else off the street but at this point if they don't keep Joey's Sly I'm gonna like I'd be annoyed it would be a puzzling decision at this point I think if they don't keep Joey Sly so um but there's one more game so who knows what's going to happen in game action we'll we'll wait and see Sunday night there so um yeah again a lawn practice but not too much going on as you know they game pre it and stuff like that but some good stuff from the coaches early on and then a little bit of stuff there throughout the day so any last thoughts from you or we're back out there tomorrow last day last day of summer school out there uh anything I don't know you think they'll be back in full pads or anything you're just kind of looking forward to on this final day here well if they are mirroring a game game week this is a lighter practice it's generally Fridays is kind of not quite a walkth through but more just situational stuff rather than the the the full Playbook it's we'll see what Drake May does we'll see if he gets more reps but I think I I guess the one thing you're looking into more so going to that final practice is going into this final practice will be the offensive line configuration if fan L's night out there do they go to a third combination do they go back to Michael wi do they go back to Kaden Wallace but I think we've seen everything we're going to see and I say that meaning these have not been your typical training camp practices that are like evaluation competitive type of practices these are more instructional practices and there's just not as much you can glean from those so it's a different setup than in years past but I think we've we've more or less seen what we're going to see from practice point there still the game Sunday and that might be the tiebreaker on some of these roster battles backup center is going to be when Liam fornadel had a couple bad snaps today been touch on that a ton but um I think for the most part like there's not that much more information coming yep but uh Josh did ask is this the last practice we'll go to yes this is our last full practice that we get like full access after it just goes to you know the first 10 minutes of stretch I think they're back they practice tomorrow then game Sunday they're off Monday Tu or they're in Monday they're off Tuesday practice Wednesday Thursday so when we come back back Wednesday Thursday it's just going to be the first 10 minutes of stretch and we don't have everything to break down but um that means we'll have real football games to break down instead abely the week so it's about time give or take right but um we'll call it there we'll be back tomorrow not sure what time I believe we're doing a crossover because it's the last practice of the summer and one of the blocks and in one of the blocks of practices so should be a crossover with Taylor Mike we'll let everyone know on Patriots ands when that is going live and of course subscribe to the Patriots press pass so you don't miss anything on there as well and in the meantime you can follow Alex on Twitter real alexb head over to 985th sportsub tocom to
