he was fully ready all right I am being told that we have more breaking news here of which I am not yet aware this is not a great day for you I'm turning to you what what shef saying that 49ers running back Christian mcaffrey who missed most of training camp with a strained calf is expected to return to practice today uh according to Adam's source so and what else happened today ners out Trent Williams the left tackle of the ners headed back to to San Francisco apparently very close on a new contract he had held out all through training camp but his agency on uh on Twitter now saying that he is uh he's headed back there because they're close to finalizing a deal so the Niners are they're getting they're getting hold just in time who are they opening with they opened Monday night against the Jets not not only did cheffy tweet that Trent Williams is coming back not only did cheffy tweet that Christian mcaffrey is ready to start practicing he also just chose to tweet Jets pass rusher Hassan reck is now the only player still holding out and away from the team facility I was hoping he and Trent Williams were watch this game together uh now it seems like Williams is going to be on the field just how big a deal is that let's put the full screen up Cindy if we have it of b1d he is as good as his position as any single person in the NFL he's been First Team all proo each of the last three years and at age 35 last year he was still the best offensive lineman in the league he was first in past block win rate meaning he held his blocks for 2 and 1 half seconds nearly 96 percent of the time he's a historically great player like a Surefire Hall of Fame player playing at a high level still heading into his age 36 season so the ners are they're a lot better when he's on the field that's that's my hot T and and and the good part is he's not a receiver so he can play right away green just in case you're you're hoping for not I mean you know let me cl staying in shape he's doing his deal he's ready he'll be able to walk out there and be so in what way is is that the good part I mean I know you want to see two teams at full strength go and edit and you know now you're going to get your wish no that's the last thing I want to see I don't want to see very clear on that full strength we had that going last year week one how'd that turn out for us je no not so good Jeff so I think that the point is look this is this is significant stuff uh Hawk quick take here again Christian mcaffrey back at practice he's got the calf Trent Williams in Camp Brandon auk got in Camp it looks like the 49ers sort of put I think obviously the Terri terrifying news with their young receiver Ricky pel who thank God is going to be okay in the long run um but but from a football perspective looked like they sort of got everybody back together again just in time for week one yeah and so the question for the the New York Jets will be how how much can we throw them off Rhythm because to their point the the lynchpin is Trent Williams on that offense both passing game and running game without him they are a completely different football team top to bottom with him back if he's going full strength is he in shape is he ready to go go is Brandon IU been in Camp enough to get right back into the Rhythm and is Christian mcaffrey healthy enough to take on a brunt of it I think this actually does still vote in the favor of the New York Jets I'm not going to say I'm picking them to win but for their defense that flies around that is Young like they will have an advantage to start the season for an offense that has not been at full strength and had the opportunity to build their chemistry yet okay I I'll take it the Niners had a very tumultuous off season and they're I mean they're just getting it together now if mcaffrey calf injury I mean that's a guy that's had some issues in the past you got to watch something like that all right we'll leave that there for the moment what we e
