Houston Texans Schedule 2024

welcome to the inaugural first ever 713 off the Record podcast and I'm your host the one the only Eddie frell as you can tell I come to you with no Fanfare no intro music no fancy Graphics uh it's just it's just a houstonian talking Sports and this is a long time in the making uh some people listening to this podcast for the first time that I know uh firsthand will say where have you been this whole time uh you are 40 years old and you are just now doing this and I would say um yeah you know I kind of took my time getting to this place getting I wouldn't say comfortable with doing something like this but um kind of took a long time to get here and my aspirations in life have always been to be a uh Sports mind I would say first a football mind um but before we kind of get into any of that uh this is a Houston based podcast uh I want to focus primarily on Houston um I'm sure at some point along the way I will get into topics that are National um Beyond of obviously the scope of Houston specifically texes uh football is kind of my main thing but of course uh there's basketball and baseball out there and I can I could talk it up with just about anybody in those regards as well uh so I'm not too concerned with with that part of the format but I do want to say this being the first podcast we are centralized on the schedule release that has just transpired in regards to Texans football now it's not the sexiest topic on the planet especially for your first podcast ever um but it is an important one and I like to think of it as something that you can just check the barometer check the temperature of where you're feeling that you're at with football specifically obviously Texans football at this time now if we were doing a national one if you if you wanted to go on NFL Network or ESN and watch something like this then it would be agonizing because you're going to hear about every national game and every you know some of that stuff is just kind of monotonous and I just really wanted to focus in on obviously our schedule when when you're in Houston fan and you're looking at our schedule it's a lot easier to just get dialed in on just us and not have to worry about all the extra frivolous stuff around the edges which doesn't really matter anyway so to spare you any more of my long-winded intro which you are going to get used to because I am going to talk whether you want me to or not at nauseum about all kinds of things all the time we're going to just just get sucked into this schedule Rel situation now we're talking Texans here and the most important thing I can tell you that you're going to hear over over and over again is how this 2024 schedule is tied for the fourth hardest schedule in all of football um and of course tied you know tied with I think two other teams you're going to hear that all the time and you're going to hear that throughout the season and if the Texans get off to a slow start you're going to hear that over and over again what I want to tell you first that's the most important thing to take into account for this schedule is that stuff doesn't matter you know why it doesn't matter because those numbers are based on last year's percentages so you're going to have a bunch of teams in our schedule that were 2 and 15 and that factors into that percentage and you're going to have a lot of teams that were you know 12 and five and as you know if you're a sports fan if you're a football fan is the tide of football victories win and losses are very EB and flow they come and go teams you know you always hear or I always hear anyway you know you hear the seven playoff teams for each conference well every year three or four of those teams are different that just goes to show you how different year toe each season is or how different each season is I should say so just just throw that out the window just don't think about the fact that the schedule is so difficult it's really ultimately not going to matter anyway like you still have to play who's on your schedule and how many times have you heard that remember 2009 what was that 2010 where we started out the gate 11 and two and everyone wouldn't stop talking about the Texans being oh they're so overhyped they're not playing anybody like well what are we supposed to do rearrange our schedule for the sake of appeasing the national audience to make sure that we are playing the the best team you know does just doesn't work that way so just throw that out the window um you're going to you're going to hear that all all the time just throw that out the window last year we had zero Prime Time games this year we have six what does that mean obviously you know what it means this team loaded up in the off season they're they're ready to go they they've added a cornicopia amount of extra pieces that we did not have last last year obviously a part of that is we didn't expect to be as good as we were last year so now rookie contract CJ Stroud let's roll um so what do we have this year six Prime Time games and there's some uh very tumultuous aspects to that that we'll get into at some point specifically the fact that you get to the end of the season we're going to have a stretch there where we're playing three games in 10 days and that's pretty that's pretty brutal and some of that is a tribute to the NFL being a little bit more liberal with their structuring of how they they're playing games you've probably heard they're diversifying games on different streaming services I think they've moved to now having a few games on Wednesday specifically the Christmas Day game will be on a Wednesday um but you know that's neither here nor there just it's going to get tough there they late my favorite part about this schedule before we get into the breakdown of the schedule and I'm going to try my my best not to go crazy with too much information about each game a lot of people probably just want to hear the hits tell me what's what's going on who we're playing this week what's the Thanksgiving you know Day game do we play on Thanksgiving you know etc etc etc um but I will say it's very I would say it's easier early and a little bit tougher late which probably helps us giving the circumstance that this team is a uh I would say well jelled together team but as many additions as we had in the off season I would say I'm glad that it's a little bit softer at the front end just so this team can kind of gel a little bit we can kind of figure out you know obviously training camp and all that stuff preseason is for that partially but you really want to coagulate the team for a lack of a better term I'm full of a lot of terms that I'm going to use uh unnecessarily uh Loosely um all those good things so you'll just going to have to run with it with me on that one but um my wife regularly gives me a hard time about all that but anyway um yeah so it's going to be it's ideal that it's a little bit lighter at the front end um but having said that what happened last year and what happens in football we had an amazing season last year a season that nobody thought we were going to have the type of season the caliber of season and so how does how does football work why is there such an EB and flow of teams coming out of nowhere doing well getting relegated back into nothingness obviously not that drastic but at the same time no one was really anticipating anything from us last year in fact when the Will Anderson trade happened what did you hear all the time was how stupid we were for making that deal why because we were supposed to be terrible anyway so we gave up an extra one which wasn't our one by the way uh or no excuse me it was our one but that just shows how confident we were and how well we were going to do we traded our one to move up to get Will Anderson kept Clevelands cuz we're kind of basically just saying like we're pretty sure we're going to be better the Cleveland anyway uh the point of that is that I think that's very interesting in the sense that again we weren't we weren't expected to do much we did magnificently um but that's not going to be the case this year and I'm not saying we're not going to do well it's just not we're not going to fly under the radar the way we did last year so everyone's going to be like oh look Houston's coming to town everyone won't shut up about CJ St everyone shown up about Stefan Diggs and all these additions they made and like oh yeah now it's now it's on last year that wasn't the case it was kind of just like you know not worried about this Houston team no big deal uh I will say that one slight concern I have now again this goes back to things changing year to year is we do play seven of the best offenses from last year out of the top 10 and seven of the best defenses last year out of the top 10 so we definitely have our work cut out for us but again that goes back to what I started the the intro of the show with is that things change so let's not get too wound up about that but it's important to note that this schedule is harder than what it was last year um and that again that just goes back to to change and that's just there's nothing you can do about that so just don't even worry about it anyway I guarantee you that's what demo Ryan is telling his guys like don't listen to all that noise who cares like you just got to line up opposite of the dudes that you're playing against and and do your best to whoop their their butts for lack of a better concept or way of thinking um I will say this um I already brought up the the three games at the end of the year that will be within 10 days again we'll cover that when we get to that part of the schedule but um I like the late bye but I I'll say this this I I just kind of want to go on a slight rant if you'll just bear with me for a moment sometimes people talk about like the NFL being scripted and I think sometimes there's like some validity in that because there's things that happen in the NFL that are just like almost comically strange or it's it's too cute and anytime you're really legitimately bringing up this this possibility to me it's like JFK where it's like there's too many people involved for it if if it was really orchestrated or you know there's consp cons iracy Theory validity to this situation there's too many bodies in the room for it not to come out well I'm kind of going on a tangent what I'm trying to say is that I think it's really funny the way our schedule is structured and I don't believe in things being uh scripted but I'll say this I find it hilarious that we had the year that we had last year obviously you'll have the Hall of Fame game that's in Canton it's our our F let me just let me put it this way this probably a better way to put it this is set up to be like a Cinderella is season if you believe in those things and if you don't well then if you believe that the NFL is scripted well then they're setting it up for you without you having to believe in something like that because you have the Hall of Fame game in Kinton you're going to have Andre Johnson inducted at that you know the day before that game you have one of the hardest schedules in football the schedule lines up and we'll get into that again soft enough at the at the front that it's kind of like a you know a NASCAR race where it's kind of just like keep Pace keep pace and then it's going to end pretty intensely and then we going to we're going to play some juggernauts there at the end we have a by we in week 14 where it's kind of that's like the I would say the perfect by week because gives you just a break just before that final lap and then you're off to the races and you're you're playing these big time teams Deo is going to be in his room on those days saying like no no no the playoffs don't start week you know quote unquote 19 they start today because we're going to play the Dolphins and then we're going to play the Chiefs and then we're going to play the Ravens on Christmas Day and then we're going to play the team that everyone in Houston hates the Titans the last game of the season in Tennessee with them likely wearing those revered Oiler uniforms that you know Miss Adams is just waiting to trot out again waiting to incite violence in the Streets between you know Tennessee and and and Houston over you know ownership of over that that franchise which we should probably just get over that anyway but enough to do with all that stuff we're past all that let's let's get straight to the schedule and get kind of what you came here for in all likelihood other than to hear me just talk at no end preseason this should be really short and sweet no one wants to hear about all this stuff I I find it interesting again playing Bears Canton I'm excited about the Andre Johnson piece first Texon inducted into the Hall of Fame going to be that's going to be great I can't wait to hear that speech Andre Johnson is such a emotional guy he's a cancer like me um so I I feel like he's going to get a little emotional he's going to be he's a sweetheart you know I've met him I think at least twice maybe three times and he's gracious wonderful shake your hand I think the second time I met him he just straight up walked up to me kind of knew I was I knew who he was and just shook my hand and I'm nobody I'm not just some like media member or something like that no no no no no um but it is our first Hall of Fame game since 2003 doesn't mean anything other than the fact that we have one more hall of fame or one more preseason game than everybody else as you know uh we now have two preseason games opposed to the four so that will give us three uh the only thing other than that noteworthy play the Bears week two first home game so this should be an opportunity not really much of anything I don't even know why I phrase it that way but you're not going to get anything out of that team when you play them four weeks later in week two so it won't matter it's going to be a bunch of Scrubs you're going to see your starters for you know what a single series maybe at best and then it'll be Off to the Races to all the the guys that we're really trying to evaluate and cut down to from um then you'll have a game at Pittsburgh against the Steelers and then the last two preseason games are home which is awesome because that means we can just hang out at home before the season starts and those are against the Giants and Rams but again all that will be about is player evaluation all that good stuff nothing really more to say about that other than the fact that we'll be at home so we'll be able to just chill relax on our own cribs not have to worry about anything as the regular season starts week one Colts rematch from the last game of the season last year where we stole the division from them everybody was ready to has the Cinderella story run out is it over are these are these Texans just going to like disappear into the night it was to our uh benefit that Anthony Richardson wasn't available for that game as he wasn't available for most of the season so I'm really excited about that component I'm really excited about the fact that you will get to see Anthony Richardson again and this time you know what what do they say like this time it's for real you know we we played him what was that week two last year and he did really well and I think we lost um and that wasn't a big surprise given the the circumstances of kind of how we thought we would start our season and ultimately like finish and and run through our whole season was to not be very good competitive game Anthony Richardson looked nice I would say from a athletic standpoint running around standpoint I think there's something there's a stat out there where he only made it to week five I think he got injured in week five if I remember correctly and he had I want to say six plays or six runs of over 20 yards by himself up until that point so I mean he was basically on Pace for one of your classic kind of Michael Vic Lamar Jackson early quarterback Mobility running around making people look silly uh type of Seasons potentially um but yeah week one at the Colts week two we prefaced this earlier first Prime Time game first home game against the Bears everyone's going to chalk this one up as a win um I like this match up with the Bears uh the one thing I'm excited about is everyone's been talking about of course the uniforms this will be the wi out game in all in all actuality um if you know anything about the Texas schedule generally the first home game is the white out game The Last home game is the dark blue game where they just wear all Blues white out game of course means all whites uh we have the new uniform so it'll be a different looking version of the white out game um but that should be what the Bears game is of course a lot of talk that this is going to be the the Bears of the the Texans from last year I'll I'll just preface this with or I'll I'll interrupt logic with this you don't get guys like CJ strout every year so people saying that like oh Caleb Williams he's this year's CJ strad like that's that's silly to me um I think he's going to be good I don't know if he's going to be like really really good like CJ was but I think he'll be good um so I think that might be a little bit of a misnomer and and obviously the in terms of a misnomer of just thinking that we're just going to roll this team but obviously the NFL maybe thinks different that is a Prime Time game that is our first Prime Time game that is a sun Night Football on NBC game so we'll come right out the gates week two uh with a primetimer I thought there might be a chance that we would play like the Chiefs or the I mean obviously the first Thursday night the first game of the season is the Super Bowl winner I thought we might be in that game but that's fine that's that's the Ravens whatever I'm not interested in playing them this soon anyway but i' I'd rather see this team Joe a little bit but um week three Vikings as you know we made the deal with them that allowed us to get the Stefan Diggs uh Edition that's who we traded back with to get the extra second rounder from last year so that we could parlay that into the digs trade wonder if these two teams just like don't talk a lot or or I should say they do talk a lot cuz grenard went to Minnesota and then Daniel Hunter comes to Houston and then Blake Cashman goes to Minnesota and then we make the deal that allows us to go and get Stefan Diggs like I feel like you know there's there's teams out there that have relationships I feel like these two teams just have some kind of pre-existing relationship that we're just not privy to um but again that's neither here nor there I just thought that's kind of just a funny little weird thing so it'll be kind of cool to play them and uh of course that will be in Minnesota so I won't have as much of the Fanfare of it of it being in Houston but um yeah we'll get to see some old old faces and then hopefully I would like to see Sam darnold personally I'm not super afraid of JJ McCarthy who they drafted in the first round obviously in in this year's draft at quarterback but uh there's a part of me that's like yeah Trot Sam darnold out there like that should be fun uh we'll just we'll just chalk that one up Jags uh first uh or I should say second division game of the season is week four that's at home I I won't talk a ton about that particular game other than the fact that if you know anything about me and obviously you probably don't because it's the first time I'm on any kind of real Airwaves I don't respect the Jags organization very much um I'm not a big uh shod con guy or a Tony con guy and uh we'll probably get into that at some later date um if you if you follow wrestling at all uh Tony KH took this it's called a bump it's obviously wrestling's fake he came to the draft press conference wearing a net guard to sell something that wasn't real which I thought was hilarious because it was a football press conference where everyone in in in the present kind of knows that wrestling's fake and he tried to make it seem as if it wasn't fake which it's just kind of gamemanship on his part to be completely honest but I thought it was hilarious but it kind of to me once I just saw that I was kind like you just summed up your whole organization in one moment right there just looking silly like that like dude you're not hurt like you didn't actually get hurt in a in a wrestling match uh I don't know if they asked any questions about it or not I I would imagine they did but anyway Jags we'll get an even trimp bulky at some point but those dudes are Chumps I'm not worried about them next week five Bills Buffalo Bills hate the bills can't stand the bills you all know why 1992 comeback all that stuff all I went to a bunch of Bill games as a as a kid as an Oiler fan uh yeah yeah I hate the bills but what I think is interesting about this everyone's going to talk about this Devon digs component to it great wonderful who cares um yeah it' be nice if he if he lays into them with his little bit rocky relationship with Josh Allen but who cares what I'm most intrigued about with this game is that this is going to be the first real real test and I think the bills have taken a significant step back from where they have last year just on their General roster construction overall but this is kind of uh an interesting little wrinkle this is the first time you're going to see the htown jerseys with the H on the helmet the the really dark blue it's I don't think it's deep steel anymore it's a it's a looks like a couple of Shades lighter I don't like the red I'll go on a slight little rant here I wish they would have gone yeah it might have looked a little too titanyen the insert of the number and then maybe like the red trim and then all the accessories on their bodies like the shoes the sleeves all that be that what is it they're calling it htown blue I I would have liked it been like predominantly that dark blue with the oiler blue with the red trim I thought that would have looked amazing I thought that's a kind of where they were going to go with that when they kind of teased that that Jersey or that Ensemble but they didn't I don't like the red I think it looks orange but whatever that's either here nor there I just thought it was fun to kind of point out that we'll be wearing those against Buffalo who I can't stand can't wait to beat those fools week six Patriots also another I can't wait to beat those fools uh all those years we took all that butt whooping wanted to say something different there but butt whooping from a New England team that was just always some years a little bit better than us but also a lot better than us and so uh this will be a nice little uh turn coat scenario where we could just finally lay into a team that has been our big brother for a little bit and now their little brother and uh I don't really care who plays in that game whether it's jacobe brette or Drake may I don't care if it's rain sleep snow I don't I don't care like it's it's going to be in New England obviously it's probably going to be a little too early for snow but like I think we're just going to walk in there and deo's got some um memories with that that situation so I think it's safe to say that'll be have a lot of fun week seven it's probably still too early for cold weather it is late October I think it's October 20th if my memory Serv me correctly a big game you're going to hear all the time through the point of this game that it's a Super Bowl teaser Packers Texans I wouldn't be shocked if you just I don't know about Vegas lines per se but I wouldn't be shocked if you heard a bunch of hubub of oh look those two two six and one teams or you know five- one teams at this point I think it's week seven so everybody should be six And1 at that point but um you know I'm just throwing numbers out there obviously but uh I think you'll get a lot of hype with that game hope it's nothing like the Aaron roders I think what was that 2009 Texans Packers game where I think it was like a lot of the same stuff except that game was here and if you remember correctly I think Aaron Rogers threw three touchdowns on us in the first six minutes and I know I can already hear the audience out there that I can't actually hear but like why are you bringing up old bad memories like we don't want to think about that anymore I'm just I'm just saying hey I'm a Houston fan we're we're houstonians if you're listening to this and you're from Houston doesn't matter if you're from Houston or not I think it's important to remember that we have a very tumultuous relationship with history and we've had a lot of uh tough moments in the uh scope of football specifically and everyone has so it's hard for me to get too wound up about that stuff but I I don't know I just uh I would like to see this one go the other way and it's nice that it's in Green Bay when it's not 20 lbs of snow on the floor so doesn't matter anyway they got heated Fields they're Chumps I don't know how you're in Green Bay and you have heated Fields when you're a snow team like that that's that makes no sense to me wanted to say something else about that but I I I'll refrain from cussing on this uh particular episode week eight Colts at home this time cool Colts covered them maybe Anthony Richard will be hurt again by that point since he runs around everywhere and people are going to take shots at him all the time so yeah whatever no no ill will to Anthony Richardson but that would be nice all right so this is where we get into a stretch of week 9 10 11 and this is three straight nationally televised games and I really like this because I think this is where you get to the period of the Season where in a perfect world let's say we're U oh I don't know 6 and two 5 and three probably don't want to go that low but at this point there should be a lot of steam behind the Houston Texan bandwagon and it'll be nutc crunching time for again a lack of a better term because we will be playing the Jets the Lions and Cowboys all prime time one Bang Bang Bang three in a row Jets game is on Amazon Thursday Night Football in New York maybe Aaron Rogers still has a uh Achilles or two at that at that juncture we know how that game went last year we were playing Zack Wilson and we we still lost that game now it was a a young team we're still basically a young team so I'm not going to incredibly fault them for that but that was a tough game last year um so we're going to do it again and this time we're basically going to say like nah we're not going to get Panther this time we're not going to get like jettison this time we're going to go Bulls on Parade on you uh this time so that's what I'm hoping for but that's week nine at the Jets Amazon next week is again it's going to be very similar to the Packer game it's the lions at our house and you're going to get a lot of hype bearing that nothing catastrophic has happened to this team like oo look like Texans Lions it's another another possible Super Bowl thing what I'm kind of most intrigued about this game and I know this is just the uh aesthetic kind of uh very basic part of me because i' obviously I'm more intrigued on the on the football stuff but what I'm really kind of interested is this is where we wear the battle Reds and I think those battle Reds are going to be beautiful I mean we've seen them so I think they are beautiful but I think it's just a matter of I want to see them in the flesh like on TV I think they're going to look gorgeous we're wearing the Reds in that game again that's Prime Time NBC Sunday night football so that should be fun week 11 oh yes I can hear it already I can hear you out there in the cosmic Universe I wanted to lead with this a long time ago but uh ah jeez I just I don't think we have enough time for me to fully flesh out my opinions on this particular team and you know exactly where I'm going with this this is the Dallas Cowboy Monday Night Football in Dallas game oh yeah this is uh this should be fun I don't have a lot of uh now I'm biased obviously I'm biased I try my best in football especially when it pertains to the Texans to not be biased but I'm biased in this situation because I think d is going to be a bottom 10 team in football next year I don't know what they did in the draft if you're listening to this and somehow you stumbled upon this and you're a Dallas Cowboy fan well then I'm very sorry for you you came to the wrong place sir you wandered into the wrong room at the wrong time because uh this is not going to go good for you uh nor is this conversation or or the fact that we're playing you I believe it's November 18th so um yeah that should be fun I I I fully anticipate that being a uh I wouldn't want to call it a squash match for for wrestler wrestling fans out there but uh yeah this should I think this is going to go wrongly for Dallas as their their whole season will which is about time because you know I don't like to bring up 1910 all the time even though I just brought up 1910 all the time but to to the Dallas Cowboy fan based credit out there they are I believe 4-2 against us in obviously only the regular season cuz we would never play them in in a playoff situation unless it was in the Super Bowl but um so they have some some good history against us I would like to see that get turned around not quite turned around the way Tony Romo turned around JJ Watt on that game-winning throw and I can't even remember what year that was I want to say it was like 2011 or something uh yeah yeah yeah yeah I have some very um you know uh memories about lots of things so let me not gaze off into the distance too long and contemplate the woess of uh Houston sports short of the as anyway I'm sorry I'm getting off track that was just me being funny of course uh but yeah so week 12 Titans at home I have one question about this game does Miss Adams as I alluded to earlier have the balls to trot those Oiler uniforms out in Houston I'm going to say something real quick if she were to allow that and I don't even know if the NFL I think the NFL would allow him because you see some of those alternative Uniforms on the road I I I can't remember offhand when I don't know if the Texans have even worn the Reds on the road I don't think they have kind of reminds me a lot of like how the Cowboys only wear the whites because they kind of identify the whites as their primary so most teams use their darks as their homes anyway so that's why the Cowboys have the whites all the time you're always everyone's always wondering like why do they wear the whites all the time so well it's technically your road jersey is your whites anyway that's just a whole another tangent I would love to see that happen I think if that were to happen if we were to have a Houston Texans Tennessee Titans game with the Titans wearing the whites I think you would see a riot no matter how that game played out if we lost if we won if we won by 45 I think people would storm the field to fight Tennessee Titans wearing Houston Oiler uniforms as somebody who went to the 1991 I guess it was technically 92 but 1991 season last Houston hosted I should say Houston Oiler hosted uh playoff game Victory I think I was like nine I would Riot I don't want to see that uniform again so I I I just thought that was a funny point to make I feel like she's if you follow her on like Twitter and other other places enough I think she's got the coones to do something crazy like that which she doesn't want to do I'm saying to you she does not want to see that happen because it's already gotten our little Feud has gotten a little out of control anyway if you kind of just read the Tea Leaves of guess it wouldn't be tea leaves anymore if it's through the media but uh yeah that would be fun yeah do that yeah just I'm signing up for that yeah do it let's see I I think will Levis might not have a head he might be decapitated when that game is over I don't know that's just me week 13 at Jack's moving on yeah chalk that one up for a win and um yeah the Jags the heck with those guys um I don't know how that that city has a franchise it's it's second to like Green Bay in like smallest city why am I even digg this this team with a response uh let's just I had the first I had the right thought initially right let's just move on we got these guys um so all right week 14 this merits some conversational piece it's our buy this is late for a buy great some people have different schools of thought some people say nah I want it in the middle N I want it early I don't want to buy it early ever because I don't want to get trapped into a sit situation where especially if you're looking to win a Super Bowl that you're playing something insane like 18 weeks of football straight back to back to back to back barring that you don't have uh the one seed back in the day it was the one and two seed sat in the first round but it's not like that anymore so you have to have the one seed or you're playing straight through all the way so I like this I like the 14th uh week being a buy this is where we get into the the 10 games and 10day stuff and I I will I will preface this he I I freaked out about it at first first I think the important part to remember is you're getting extra days on the back end of that 10 game or 10 day stretch cuz obviously you'll have the buy so you won't play up until I believe the Dolphins game is it's the week 15 game but I believe that's just on a normal Sunday so that'll just be normal that little layover will be the same as it always is regardless of when you're buy is all that good stuff but then when you get to the Christmas part that Christmas game which is the last leg of the third game on the 10 days that's on a Wednesday and preferably at that point we'll at least have the division wrapped up to where you'll be going what off Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday what you'll probably have you'll be playing earlier it'll be the the week of everybody playing Sunday so yeah you'll get like a what is that like a 10day cushion between the last game of the season and if God forbid we had a week one or I should say a first round buy then we'll have 10 days play Tennessee for last game of the season and then we'll be off for 14 13 15 days basically but it's just it's just important to note that it is a tough tough little stretch um everything the way our schedule looks I think up until this point I wouldn't call it Kush it's the NFL there's going to we're going to get into some predictions just real quick at the very end but it's important to note that like teams change we've seen it last year we lost that Jets game we lost that Panthers game when we had no business losing those games um but that's the way the NFL works you don't just always you don't just Trot out up against teams you're supposed to win and you just beat them and it goes both ways sometimes you Trot out and and play teams that you have no business beating and then like stuff just happens so it's important to keep that all in perspective but again just a hit up on the final stretch of this this schedule 15 Dolphins at home not afraid of that team anymore I don't know what they're doing in their off season I won't get in too much dep but drafting Julian Wright in the fourth round when you've got Devon aan and moster they and and Julian Wright was probably the most athletic running back in the DFT so they're clearly building their team around speed but just straight up ignoring like yeah we'll let Christian Wilkins walk which I thought was smart cuz I'm not trying to pay him all that money anyway but like their trenches situation is garbage and they're just getting more and more like radically finessed they're just basically doubling down the fact of like this team is built on speed and we're just going to do this and I don't think that team improved itself I'm not super high on Tua I'm not I'm not sure what that team thinks they're going to be this season but hey whatever yeah come home come to Houston so we can whoop that that ass week six 16 Chiefs I don't really need to say a whole lot about this game it's the Chiefs defending Super Bowl champions in Kansas City I would like to drop a number 24 to nothing that's the last time I felt really good about playing that team I'll even say it this way that's the last time I've seen anybody feel really good about playing that team um barring the fact that the Super Bowl was pretty close last year anyway but that should be that should be a nice little temperature check weat 16 I mean heck I guess best case scenario we're trotten into that game it I don't know I don't want to speak too arrogantly of what I think this team's going to do but that that at that point of the Season it may not even be that big of a deal we may have already I don't think a lot of the AFC South so the South may be mostly R wrapped up by then it's kind of just like yeah let's just uh Spar for a couple rounds and we'll see you later it's still week week 16 so I highly doubt that'll be a thing but yep that that'll be fun middle leg of that little three games in 10day stretch big one is the next one week 17 Ravens I thought we played them really well last year uh first game of the season this game will be at home again so we'll get some semblance of familiarity from that standpoint I thought we played them really well in the playoff game and I won't go on too much of a tangent as far as this goes but that game was fine up until the second half and we just didn't have enough weapons which is why you saw this team kind of do some of the things you you saw them do in this uh off season so I'm not scared of them that'll be the last home games or the last home game I should say and in all likelihood again if this team structurally keeps the same um logic in terms of how it uses its uniforms and that will probably be the all Blues so you'll get to see the uh new all Blues which I don't know I kind of miss the red stripes on the shoulders but whatever but that's Christmas day that's a another prime time that's the last of the six Prime Times that'll be on I guess it's important to note that it's on Netflix so uh as you you'll hear throughout the season it's a running kind of Gambit that the NFL is really Diversified uh it's games on different streaming services I think if you're above the age of like 60 you're going to be really upset cuz you're you know they're going to be calling their kids going like where's the game it's like Dad it's on Paramount this week like oh okay where's the it's on Netflix this week like oh okay where's it's on Amazon this week like I mean when even when I was a kid it was CBS FOX then it became or or I should say NBC Fox then became CBS um or I should say goly I'm all over the place right now uh basically it was the the primary for mother programs that everyone going back to 1950 remembers and that's ABC Fox NBC CBS blah blah blah blah blah it's not like that anymore welcome to 2024 so that's that's fun and then last game of the season Titans at the Titans going back to kind of what I've already cited before and no doubt no doubt we will be playing in that game I think it'll be a meaningless football game because we will have wrapped things up by then I'll give you my predictions in just a second but um yeah they're going to be wearing oil the uniforms and we'll have ideally two opportunities to spank them wearing our uniforms basically and that'll be fun um so that should wrap it up as far as the the whole layout hopefully I didn't just like you're not sitting in your bathroom listenting it's going like oh my God like this guy just talks way wa I I figure if you're listening to this you're probably looking for that anyway but uh that's probably a little a little heavy on the information I have my predictions as followed I would like to uh have a little Gap here so you can just like breathe but yeah whatever let's just roll with it so I have I have a loss week one against the Cults I know some people are going to be like what you call yourself a a a Texans fan you have us I just think that's a I I like to do my predictions like this I pretty much go chalk but I leave some wiggle room for like maybe because we know we're going to lose some games we're not supposed to lose and we're probably going to win some games we're not supposed to win so I kind of just like try to tow the line and that little Purgatory of existence there um so in this case I would say we lose obviously I'm not give you any storyline for how we lose this is all theoretical for all we know CJ stoud could pull a hammy and training camp and he's not available and we start off 0 and four to start the season or something who knows so this is all just made up stuff anyway but it's content right I guess so yeah so I say that just CU I think it'll be closer it's in Indie we're probably still fresh still I say fresh as in still jelling still not quite a cohesive unit whatever let's say we lose that game Bears Vikings Jags win win win I've got similar circumstances I I I don't I think the bills are going to be worse than they were but there's a part of me that thinks that I I still kind of like some of the things they they did in the off season and I'm a big James Cook guy so I think they found something in James Cook and I think they're going to be able to finally finally run the ball in that offense so let's just say we lose that game let's just say you know that's all this stuff is anyway it's all theoretical Revenge game Pats win Packers in Green Bay let's say we lose got the I got us beating the Colts the second round or Second Time Around in Houston win Jets win I don't trust that team I don't trust old ass Aaron roders I don't trust I thought that did all right in the draft especially getting uh the tackle from Penn State just cuz I think that really shed up their line especially since they have two vets at those spots and uh Tyrion Smith and Moses Malone or Moses Malone geez that's a Houston reference for you um but I think it's um I think I still just don't like that team I just don't like it and I don't trust Aaron Rogers at 40 coming off a blown Achilles so the heck with them I've got us losing the Lions game obviously I have us winning the Dallas Cowboy game Titans Jags weeks 12 13 wins by nothing to say uh week 15 win against the Dolphins don't like that team let's say we lose against the Chiefs and Ravens we finish the season with a win against the Titans and that puts us at 11- six and that's that's really really solid giving the circumstances of our schedule so I like that and what is what does 11 and six get you in all likelihood you're probably looking at like I don't know the three seed maybe the two seed certainly not the one seed but I don't know I think the I think the AFC could be really murky this year I don't see any one team being just way out in front of anybody and again some of the I I I'm not making these predictions to state claim that this is the way things are going to go I mean that's what a prediction is but uh I think there's plenty of of wiggle room in there and I think there's a really good chance that uh um it could go one way or the other I I don't see it really getting below 10 and six or I shouldn't say 10 and six anymore cuz that was when we had a 16 game schedule but like 10 and seven n and 8 there I don't I just don't see that unless something bad has happened and we've seen that in Houston teams there's a lot of injuries or something then obviously that's going to change things but um no I think that's probably about right you know you're probably looking at a team that's about 11 and six three seed wins the South and I'm fine with that I think that's a successful season um obviously we'll have to see how things play out in the future in terms of playoff and all that stuff but again let's just not get too ahead of ourselves no point in in getting too caught up in predictions you know uh it's uh that's just kind of the way all that goes but all right let's
