well you know it's never a great feeling when you don't win but do you at least have the satisfaction of knowing your team have given a good performance this evening good evening the satisfaction is when we are winning but of course we have to accept you have to accept in our process how we are and uh arsenal of course they are more experiences more mature they are the St is strong the last two year they be very competitive in the in the Premier League for being contender in in the in the in the top four and of course to even for for B Contender to win the Premier League and today was a test for us how the distance we are and I think we compete we face then we could win we could draw and we could lose like like at the end we we did but uh I accepted this this result and uh I I think he going to give us a lot of information about the team about the squad about the players and how we can close this week the the transfer window and finished this month in August playing in leer and trying to to get there again the challenge to to get points and then I think uh the way we play today I think will will be good good uh good way understanding how we can process uh our idea our St our our competitive way like like last year and being as well more or less taking the responsibity to be uh being performing like today for the next next weeks and months you said in your prematch interview that sometimes you can control a match without the ball yeah did you think you did that for at least quite a bit of that match 90 90 minut is uh is long and and sometimes we were controlling under and their ball possession but suay as well we were controlling with our ball possession and then trying to Cate chances in one way another way reducing for example uh corners of then free kick of then we did it only we consider one corner and this is the way when we can start thinking we were controlling more or less the match and then how we were attacking and how we were getting as well in a few weeks time with a few more minutes a bit more sharpness do you think Ole Watkins takes those chances or is it just one of those things in football in football the most important is create chances of course if you're not scoring is not is not finishing your walk but I am very happy how he progressed after the first match he played in on on on Western and uh and until today his process is his progress is been performing better and creating chances didn't score but next week again working for it and of course o Watkins chances like that in the future he's going to score more than less yeah and lastly you mentioned I think the transfer window in your first answer do you expect it to be a busy week for astonvilla do you need it to be a busy week not busy but of course we had to teams if you don't take them chances you get punished I mean this is an absolute glorious chance it's a great press this is what I meant about being defensively good and well structured there I mean last season I think you know it's a given isn't it usually with with Ole Watkins but I mean the amount of time and space that he's got he could have a touch you know he could reassess himself is it anything to worry about do you think no I don't think so I I really don't and and I said to Jamie I said you know would you have bought him off I I possibly would have kept him on cuz I don't think he had a bad game and I I did feel he was effective when he had to be but this a chance I mean it's a brilliant save there's no doubt about it from David Ry it doesn't look like there's anyone more stunned in the stadium than OE Watkins that David ryers actually got back up Jamie what what do you think well I think it's it is obviously a wonderful save I'm going to take nothing away from the Save but look at the amount of the goal that olle has to put it into if he just guides that just to his right he goes in the keeper has no chance but it is a wonderful save I think if o scores the first one he definitely scores this one as well I just think sometimes that happens brilliant save as well um but they're big moments in games if he scores that I I honestly think Aston Villa would have gone and won the game was a key moment in the game wasn't it and I think that was the time where where Villa were actually pushing the button to to go and get that first goal you know the fans were off their seats I think what was disappointing at at the end you know with with the two goals going in I just felt that Villa just kind of give up and deflated and that's that's my only concern I know you're coming up against the top side in Arsenal but you know you have to keep going you have to keep pressing and and believing and did you see that change in approach that Mel ateta was referring to a more defensive Aston Villa yes I did because I mean that was one thing that was going to worry me this season about Aston I watched them in preseason and that High Line we we looked at and but it brought so much success yes it did but I think there's only so much you can play that High Line they got exposed in preseason quite a lot by teams and I feel that it was only a matter of time and and you know playing from Midfield Jamie that it's all about having the time and of making them runs eventually I think at times you can play it but I think he's got a balance there where he knew that teams were going to come to Villa Park Villa were going to play that high line and the top teams would I think identify that they're to fire margins Le aren't they that's why I say I think honestly if Aston Villa would have scored they could have sat back they look very comfortable in their shape they didn't really give Arsenal many opportunities but it's after that moment of missing need another option that at times he played dii and Bailey I think he needs another Winger that can obviously fluctuate at times he'll play that three where it is an attacking fold but I just feel that times that balance it's just not quite there and I think another Outlet on that left hand side freeze up Bailey as whether it's Raheem Sterling we'll never know well we'll come back to that as way they behave especially defensively but uh but it's fine then you have to make the game uh we had uh we had to pick up the pace a little bit because become too slow because you feel comfortable on that but it's not a game that we want to play we created two or three big chances uh Watkins has one here A big one and then yeah David changed the game the save of David probably changes the the whole game and then we got a good Dynamic score the goal and then we were on top of the game you talk about Behavior what you what do you think they was surprised you because how defensive they were for the first 20 OD minutes well they were a little bit different to what they've been doing especially at home but uh but that's it we have to that we're going to have to play a lot of games like that the holding Midfield had a very specific behavior with our attacking midfielders as well we have to find something else and the moment we understood the game we created more and more problems and credit to them they are a great side they are really well coach and it's a very difficult place to come and win how important is it with Subs now obviously you bring on Leandro master master class from you he scores in his first minute but keeping him happy keeping them hungry and making sure that they don't maybe not suling but they buy into what we are trying to achieve at Arsenal well we talked that listen the the competition is Big we have great players in in his position and they're going to have to accept that and we have a huge season ahead of us a long one and you need players to impact he did last year when he started when he was a sub today we had to do that and he gave us a headache now for the weekend how far off are you being fully equipped do you think do you think you need a few more bodies in the door to obviously go and push for that title well we are really happy with the with the score that we have it's true that we had an injury with Gabus as well that that we start of the Season particularly this one when you see the the level of fixtures that you've been dealt in these in these early few weeks particularly away from home although Brighton next week is a tough one as well at home but to to get that balance right between results and find the performances that you want from your team as well absolutely uh but I was I was watching the games today and and every game is just a it's just a big fight it's uh the standards of the league has gone again to a different level the the level of the coaches so every game is going to be really complicated you have to earn it and we will try two out of two obviously a lot of things to improve still butth now focus on Brion I think it's an interesting question from Le and I think this is the chatter amongst Arsenal fans as well Mel going into this last week of the transfer window do you feel you have enough particularly at the top of the pitch enough options there to go through an entire season if everybody's fit yes but uh that's why we need a good availability from everybody uh we don't have 20 three Outfield players and normally you have to be equipped like that we know we're not going to get there we have to trust some Academy players and make sure that we look after the ones that we had uh to be robust and and play a lot of minutes but so far looking good so far looking good and get in I'm sure that will happen they got some good young players as well you know and where's a young player that's had an opportunity at a 15y old I think when he made his debut he can play in the Premier League but you want you need numbers not Chelsea numbers but you need numbers that are going to help you because you've got a long season ahead and if you were to lose one or two important
