Corn Sweat? What Is It and How Does it Affect Humidity?

if you're from the Midwest I know you've said it before well it wouldn't be that bad outside if not for the humidity and here's the most Midwestern thing of all corn fields can actually increase the humidity I'm meteorologist Alexis Clemens with 27 news WK in Madison Wisconsin and we are looking at dangerous heat and humidity through Monday August 26th and potentially parts of Tuesday August 27th as well that heat index over 100° and when that humidity increases your body just finds it much harder to evaporate that sweat off of your body that's why it feels hotter than what it actually is and what we're seeing is in corn fields more rural areas corn one anchor of corn can release 3 to 4,000 gallons of water into the atmosphere so actually humidity increases that raises the dupoint temperature and it's going to feel more humid in those more rural areas near the cornfields really interesting there a very Midwestern thing to say but make sure you're staying safe and cool uh these next couple of days catch more weather updates from Alexis Clemens on WK we've got you covered
