Raw and Real: Unfiltered Golfers As You've NEVER Heard Them Before

hello hello oh dear oh this is cool feels like I'm on stage feel like I'm going to be [Music] interrogated Welcome to The Green Room last year with a heartbreak I got obviously Rory doing what Rory does um it was heartbreaking but this year I just said just take your chance I mean we' done it what is the best thing about being in Scotland man I love it I love it this is so pure on Monday I got to the marine and it was just perfect um no way sunshine I went to took a swim I love Scotland you know I I I love here for some reason I love the nature here I love the people here I love the accent um I love everything I'm I'm happy men here you know when whenever there's familiar faces like Mom and Dad um you know my my fiance as well something like that it's really cool so um yeah it definitely makes the week at home more special and uh we'll get some Amro as well so I mean come on could be could be a lot wor Scottish fans and Scotland has a very warm place in my heart and uh really love this place The Passion of the public uh they know they know golf so well and they are so passionate so I think they they just want you to play well and to do some good shot and the support is always amazing there and I'm always looking forward to play the open in Scotland super respectful fans um just the golf clop is so so much more pleasing I feel like out here um it's maybe not as loud as loud as in the States but uh there's just something so nice about just getting a nice golf CLP when you you know lce in the 12 I kind of love coming here and uh and I enjoy being there like all of golf like they say you know golf courses everywhere it's so nice so so yeah it's a it's good place play go here I I really appreciate the golf over here so I'm glad that I was able to get up here this year did you go for Budgy Smugglers or swim shorts buy [Laughter] smug it's it's not a budy um I was in my undies yeah hello Richard you must be feeling pretty good yeah bit lost for words at the moment but uh definitely uh a smile on my face hello is it your first time here first time um pretty terrible straight after signing my card didn't realize it was this quick that they come in here um yeah pretty good hi Marcel welcome back how are you feeling quite angry actually um being on the bubble for the cut uh all day or two days I'm getting too old for that I've just I just lack a load of self-confidence at the moment um yeah it's hot you know it's been been a long few months I think by the end of this stretch I would have been away from home for 3 and a half months so coming to the end of that sort of starts wearing you down a bit I'm just not where I want to be you know in the game you can't force it you know you got got to roll with the punches and that's what I'm doing at the moment so just working hard every day and just how it is the game doesn't owe you anything you know and um I don't like to get emotional about it but I'm quite an emot person as everyone knows so yeah it's hard I've got my wife with it with me this week and I haven't had her the last few weeks which really really helped um I love having her out here with me um and like you said when she's not I do I do miss that so sounds ridiculous but we question ourselves sometimes and if if we are getting better and stuff like that and to kind of get some clarity and shoot a great score and in a big event on a Sunday um if it gets me to true and great if it doesn't I'll go to America and um hopefully go and play well out there what do you think is needed to take that next step um it's a lot about believing yourself and um everybody gets nervous everybody gets butterflies and everybody wants it really bad um it's just going in the weekend believing believing in yourself knowing that you belong in that and and seeing yourself holding some big putts hitting some good shots coming down the stretch and and lifting from that trophy played really well these last two days um obviously you've got guys like lud viberg up there and um he's an absolute phenomenal player I love I love watching him I quite enjoy lyx golf um I think I'm saying that cuz I avoided all the bunkers today um I I take that back I hit in one bunker and my Double B I tried I tried to forget about that but uh in my mind have basically zero bunkers I think I enjoy more playing over here but it's been a it's been a good experience over all um a lot of people watching every week which is which is nice know great to be back in Europe it's been tough to get home so this is nice DP World Tour treat me great when I'm here so it's it's a nice little treat and you know I'm going to go home tonight for a couple of days so it's yeah it's lovely you must be pleased after a really good opening round I am yeah yeah that was nice played really good on the on the front and then sort of hung on a little bit on the uh on the back n but yeah it's very cing I played really good golf today uh very solid T green lots of looks and uh you know hopefully won't end up too far back what are your plans for the rest of the day probably have three lattes it's coming out a minute it's got to be my latte average this week's been 3.5 I usually roam around the 1.2 range depending on how I feel after the round my uh my do is Napp be to change in in a couple of seconds I don't know why it's just coffee tastes better here it almost feels like I need to have an extra latte or two um I'd say normal 7:55 a.m. time I have half a cup of coffee here today I had two cups of coffee what did you think about your first visit to the Green Room this is really really cool I feel kind of exposed right here with the lights on I can't see you can't really see the camera but the chairs comfy this is weird this is brilliant um this is really cool uh it's a nice place to sort of decompress I don't know it's like comfortable and I kind of like dark small places like this just by myself here like a little animal I don't I don't know that that's the the what I was thinking about but sure yeah what's it like in the house with the other guys yeah it was it is very cool to you know be with people that I kind of looked up um to when I was a bit younger and now I get to play against them which is uh awesome but yeah just just cool to see the them behind the scenes and kind of decompress and do their thing yeah we are I mean it's a
