Jesse septi Marie Harbaugh I mean they got their kids to you know in a position to go to college that's where my mom and dad met you know no uh no greater Assurance of uh you know being successful than uh an education I truly believe that Michelle Obama was the one who said it I'm quoting her um but yeah Sante did he get hurt in practice today uh I didn't get a good look at it but uh yes uh seemed like he did gota twe tweak the shoulder somehow we'll see how how how it is questionable for the game and uh just with DJ being out probably opportunity for lad maybe Quinton just uh who are you expecting to sort of fill that role DJ out uh I I really have uh excited to watch all our receivers uh you know everybody running everybody alert ball could go anywhere with uh with Justin so I'm excited to see it play out coach Crystal rich nice to see you again just taking you back now that the game game day is right around the corner taking you back to the joyous day of your introductory pressor where you express so much joy to be able to work with Justin Herbert and be a part of this organization now that you've been through an entire training camp pre-season you saw Justin get hurt come back to health what is your feeling ahead of week one love these guys um you know all the players the coaches the uh the organization you know everybody just doing anything and everything they can to help us be successful uh and people also treating their job like it's the most important job in the whole organization checking double checking triple checking quadruple checking uh it's been uh it's been it's been great to be a part of and uh yeah excited for our ball team to take the field on Sunday and have it count you know let's go obviously you weren't here last season but the Chargers took a tough loss to the Raiders in December do you feel in the locker room outside of this is a division matchup that these guys almost the returners have a little bit of a Vendetta no I wouldn't use that word no I wouldn't uh would not use that word how would you describe it using any words do you feel anything of like an extra little ump to to to get this week one win I feel that our team is pumped they're they're fired up they're ready to play um opening day you know that's a that's a you know game one the opener uh I mean it's like it's it's just huge it's always is uh in football uh at any level um and also have it to be a division game uh you know it is a rivalry game uh it's it's a lot of things you know so uh I would just say our guys are are fired up and I'm fired up I'm fired up to to watch our guys compete because it's a rivalry game you know Raiders have history here in Los Angeles too there'll be a lot of Raider fans in the building are you prepared for that that type of hostile atmosphere even though it's a home game for you all um you know it's it's really always the same home or away I mean there's 11 of ours out on the field 11 of theirs on the field and and the officials uh you know that that never changes so uh yeah I I am uh I feel good that we're ready that we're prepared and ready to roll did you uh see the illegal formations that they were calling on the the Ravens last night by any chance yeah any any reaction to that like as far as you know indicating to your offensive lineman to to be aware of how the rest are calling that no I don't have any reaction to it did you was that did you were you at all aware of the the emphasis this year was that something that you guys have talked about throughout K yeah okay you for for that with the with the coaches yeah and it was the way they were calling it was how they the emphasis that they told you when when they were here like when the rest were here I I can't say say that I can't say that uh they were they were the right calls or the wrong calls I can't say that I wasn't I wasn't there didn't go back and look at it on uh on tape was that was that something that was in a big adjustment for the for the guys that you spoke with or for the guys that you worked with in the offseason for the tackles was that was that a big adjustment for them when you guys communicated that this would be an emphasis we've communicated that it'll be an emphasis and uh and I think they've adjusted to it now that's a that rule is still pretty gray you know is when it comes to rules in the NFL I mean there's a lot of rules that are very specific and very tight I mean that one that one does have some some grayness to it so as far as like where the the belt line is like that the belt buckle the belt line the the build goes that's a it's a but uh yeah I think uh you know that we're going to do our best to to be legal and have and have emphasized it on tackles just I'm apologize if you've been asked us this week but your thoughts on Joe Al having a tough assignment being face to face with Max Crosby yeah yeah um I'm excited to see it I uh you know the uh if you don't like a challenge then you you don't like to compete you know and I one thing I know about Joe all he likes to he likes to compete so um it is going against one of the Premier players in the history of the league uh yeah it's a it's a it's a big challenge but Joe Al he's uh he does not strike me as somebody that's afraid of challenges or new challenges a lot of the guys were showing off their work shirs yesterday and a lot room is that an idea that came from you or like where did those come from their like their work shirts yeah um it's just it's uh very something that's very uh you know near and dear to the to my heart really everybody's heart um you know it's a obvious motivational shirt you know of work but the other thing it signifies is there's somebody in your family somebody in my family somebody in everybody's family that you know did the did the tough job did the the the dirty work so to speak man probably a job that they didn't love to do but uh you know they did it to to provide for their family and you know put their their kids in a position to um do a job they love and we all do a job we love and when I wear that that shirt and I love the work uh you know that's that um that represents that but it also represent you know joose seiti who uh got a six grade education um came over from Italy when he was four and uh he had to go to work he had to go to work at uh you know after the sixth grade and provide for for his family and uh you know worked in worked in filling stations and and uh self-taught mechanic then one day he was very proud of the fact that he was he was teaching uh car mechanics engine mechanics um you know at the at the Cleveland school for uh trade school uh so yeah I get emotional about stuff like that and Bill Harbaugh uh worked on the railroad was a Breakman he wore a shirt like that said bill you know josephy had one that said Joe right there and I got one that says Jim so it's a also honoring honoring that person in your family that uh you know and it's maybe you got to go back just one generation you know maybe it was just your parents you know maybe it was maybe it was uh your grandparents maybe your great-grandparents probably not going to go too much farther back than that you know um but you know each bill Harbaugh Joe septi Jesse seiti Marie Harbaugh I mean they got their kids to you know in a position to go to college that's where my mom and dad met you know no uh no greater Assurance of uh you know being successful than uh than education I truly believe that Michelle Obama was the one who said it I'm quoting her um but yeah put them in a position to do a job that they love and Jack Harbaugh was a football coach for 43 years and and because of that you know John Harbaugh Jim Harbaugh you know Joanie Harbaugh you know we uh we all went to college and you know doing a job we love so it's it's um that's really the entirety of the the blue collar shirt and and and what it represents and just like you can see the faces here you got somebody you're thinking about right you got somebody in your life you're thinking about who did that who did that job maybe maybe two jobs maybe even three jobs job they probably didn't love but they had to you know put a roof and food on the table uh you know the Spanos is Alex Spanos this this building we're in you know he uh you know he made himself and um and yeah we just it's it's an also besides being a you know a motivational work you know um type of uh message it's also a honoring those in our family who who did those jobs coach I know it's a small sample size but did what did you learn about the new kickoff rules in the first three preseason games quite a bit um and I've uh warmed up to it our players are uh have been gauged completely um Ryan ficken our special teams coach has been tremendous uh he's just I mean talk about a guy coaching I mean coaching working uh you know it's it's it's it's been on his mind you know since uh since April and and uh coaching up our team I think we've we've all learned a lot and we're ready to ready to cover them and ready to return them coach in the small sample size that you have with just Raiders got really good returners by the way we're g to have we're going to have to be good in the small sample size that Justin has been back has there been a receiver Josh lad Quinton that his connection maybe stands out to you or gets you gets you excited yeah I mean um excitement for uh each receiver because they have elevated their game uh Sanjay LA's done a tremendous job uh and just watching them you know taking the coaching and then you can tell when guys are are really taking coaching and and and and and uh you know taking it in because how they they go out and demonstrated on the field and I've seen Quinton take take a big Josh Palmer T has taken a big step uh Simi foko uh you know just just really really good lad has been uh been outstanding and uh and Darius Davis uh and I'm going to say it right now he's a great kick returner but uh he's got every license and ability to be a tremendous receiver in this league uh you know you can probably think of some of the names you know that I'm thinking of right now that he could you know he's he's in he's in that ballpark and just keep keep chipping away at it and and being really good so yeah to answer your question those those guys uh brandan rice as well um you know you just see him coming along uh just just the way he works I mean man I hope he proudly where that uh that uh that works here because that guy works um and he's always available he's there every day all the all the things and you see the you see the technique you see the you know the uh the route running ability uh you know the catching the nuances of the position just just getting better every single day so U yeah
