in the Super Bowl that's the expectations for that team if you're power ranking the NFC it's really neck and neck for me between them and the Lions I have the Eagles further down I have the Packers above the Eagles so the expectations around this team the bar for what uh level they should reach in the playoffs is higher the other thing with perie is I don't think the San Francisco 49ers have a shrinking Super Bowl window um there's still so many stars in the roster he'll be on the team for a while KY shahan's amazing it'll probably never be easier for them than it is this year Brandon iuk just got paid I thought that was the right decision deserved however they're way over the cap next year and they haven't paid their quarterback he is going to make over $50 million a year and when they do that this Allstar team that has been haunting the rest of the NFL over the last few years they're gonna start losing pieces right now however the band is staying together they are running it back assuming Trent Williams gets on the field and because of that this season I believe takes on outsized importance because the roster is optimized to win right now and thus there is pressure on perie yeah mea for me it's Jaylen Herz when you look at all the other boxes have been checked he obviously got paid a massive contract he was in the Super Bowl when toe-to-toe with Patrick Mahomes fell a little bit short and then you look at what they did this off season I think getting Jan doson was the final move to a really good off season including most saquan Barkley two new coordinators now he has to show that he is a championship caliber quarterback worthy of the contract worthy of being the one piece of continuity and I thought it was interesting when he talked about was insightful about Jason Kelce and been around situations where we've had veteran centers like a Kevin M and Nick Mangold and Mike pouncy and those are the quarterbacks of the offensive line he has everything on his shoulders really the last final and probably most important step for him to check is that of being a Super Bowl champion this is a consequential year we know for Nick serani the best way to Tamp down the noise is not just to be great in the regular season like they were a year ago at 10-1 but to get to the postseason and win the Super Bowl I wanted to mention number one it's always a beautiful beautiful thing when me and I are on the same page because it just shows that I mean I I clearly I'm elevating with my knowledge cuz we know no one knows more than me the comms okay so I'm the answer to this question is clearly block Brock pie uh Mike T and and here's the reason why researching got my information let's look at what Brock pie in last last season led to NFL is see mean appreciates this stuff I know she knows it but she appreciates me articulating it because I show that I'm not completely clueless okay so we got a situation led to NFL 25 yard completions yards per attempt meaning air yard throws of 20 or more yards downfield completion percentage on throws of 20 plus air yards yards per attempt when Blitz pass touchdowns outside of the pocket these are the things that you want from greatness from a great quarterback and certainly Brock per py has delivered on that level not to mention the fact that he had the highest pass rating in 49ers history in 2023 the two previous times was 89 when Joe Montana was at 112. four and they won the Super Bowl in 1994 when Steve Young was at 112.8 and won the Super Bowl this man is at 113 why do I bring all of this up Mike T why do I bring all of this up Mina with that and Brandon auk and Debo and Christian mcaffrey and George KD and Kyle Shanahan we're a Super Bowl we're a Super Bowl now obviously I'm not blaming him anything I believe they probably would have went to the Super Bowl a couple of years ago had Brock py not gotten hurt early in the game against the Philadelphia Eagles in the most atrocious NFC Championship game we ever saw because they couldn't even put a quarterback on the field because the 49ers had four quarterbacks get hurt in one season and we had never seen that before so we know they couldn't even they lined up and couldn't throw the damn football with a Super Bowl birth on the line that was an aberration he comes back last year they get it done we're just looking at them and all the Personnel that they have in place there's absolutely no excuse they got they better sign Trent Williams now they better get his situation resolved but outside of that there's no excuse for the 49ers not to finally kick down this door and I think that ultimately when you get four chances at the Apple four super four NFC title game appearances in the last five years two Super Bowl appearances in the last five years and you don't come across with a ring one time at some point you've knocked on a door enough and somebody like Detroit or Green Bay or Philly is going to move you out the way and say you had you had enough damn chances move out the way and let somebody else get another crack at this I think this is important for Brock [Music] pry well look for me I would say I didn't go to Yale but I do spend a lot of time in Fairfield County so that's probably about as close as I'll get to yell but I'd say this New Haven County yells New Haven County it's okay it's okay you're talking to the Connecticut native it's all good all right but here's what I say I think the 49ers window is actually open I think Debo Samuel is going to graduate they did draft two receivers in Ricky Piel J P County if the Philadelphia Eagles and Jaylen Herz don't get it done this year that whole thing could look drastically different in a year and again to me when you look at the sequence of his career Jaylen Herz has checked every box including playing great in the Super Bowl but he hasn't won it and to me there's so much pressure on him and that situation including his head coach that if they don't get it done this year it could look real differently where but that's where we at Mike T right there the head coach because when both are both coordinated has departed they looked completely lost particularly the last 6 weeks of the season last six or seven weeks of the season and so to me there's more pressure on serani than it is on Jaylen Herz yeah well but I also think if you look at the 49ers situation barring something unforeseen Brock pie and Kyle shanan will be there for a long time I think they're still way more upside in that situation than there is in Philadelphia meina see I disagree with you Mike because I I think that the the Philadelphia Eagles I believe even if they don't win this year they're set up for long-term success over the last few years they've drafted some really good players particularly on that offensive line with Dickens now Jurgens steps in Jaylen Carter on the opposite side looks fantastic whereas with the ners remember when they traded a massive hall for Tre Lance and then it didn't matter because they found Brock pie and they moved on I actually think Mike and you know this the former GM it's going to start to matter because if you look over the last few years they haven't drafted very well outside of pry there's some role players I like Jer Brown for example but this team they're getting older and once those start those star players you can't really afford them all you alluded to moving on from Debo that's going to start to kick in and and I guess it goes back to the original point it's never going to be better for this ners team than it is right now with Brock pie making so little money and I feel like there's a ton of pressure on this franchise and that's not even getting to the emotional toll that Stephen A alluded to of losing in the Super Bowl year after year at a certain point that hits really hard Mike yeah I look I understand what me is saying and certainly I think there's a lot of depth that Philadelphia does have but again I think it just goes back to where this team is as fundamentally as an organization which is I don't think Stephen A that they're going to stop with Nick serani if this thing doesn't work out I think this could be a pretty significant rebuild whereas I just think given where Brock py is look he'll get significant extension after his third year this year but I just think that core will be together I do think they lose Deo Sanel but I think that core does stay together for a while well let's be very very clear about the Philadelphia Eagles Jaylen Herz ain't going nowhere I mean you have any idea how much much of a precipitous drop off would have to take place for them to move on be Jaylen Herz is the future of the Philadelphia Eagles AJ Brown Devon T Smith Dallas got it there a No Scrubs you're just a quiet sayquan Barkley you ain't looking for him to go anywhere I think it's about serani Mina if he can't win with them somebody else will Mina and Mike T before we roll here what other NFC teams Mina are you hot on this year in terms of lions Ram Lions and the Packers I think are both above the Eagles in my estimation I mean those teams the Lions we already know obviously they made it there but I'm telling you this Packers team y'all Jordan love and if that defense can even play average I think they're going to be serious okay I'm
