New 'Dancing with the Stars' cast talks competing in season 33

[Applause] all right so guys we want to get right to it we're want to start with the host Julian and Alonso I did not say we want to start with the judges we're going to start with the H because both of you guys know exactly what it takes to win the mirror ball you both have done it now's your chance what advice would you give for me ultimately I think it's about heart right it is a show yes it's dancing but at the end of the day we want to get to know who you are and we want you to be open to the world show everyone who you are your love your your love of partner everything that this show is is about heart let us see it be open when you go up to the sky boxing with Julianne be let your heart fly and that to me is I think the the the true the way well said yeah I Echo everything he just said but also it's connection like trust your partner and really I know all the pros are like thank you for saying that um but you know trust your partner they have your back also you know we Alonso and I were here to like support you guys and everything that you do and so just embrace the fact that this is a family and you you can compete with family too right d yes well they know we sure do all right so fedra we want to start with you uh for the for the celebs where are you right here it is so nice to see you um all right so fedra let me ask you this we first met you on the housewives of course Atlanta uh one of the greats um 2010 you are an attorney and you have a away with words yes not shy at all um what would your open I like her already what would your your opening statement be on why you should be the champ everybody knows I'm sassy classy and some of my friends are we bit trashy but if you come for this Mirrorball it will get [Music] [Applause] nasty you got that SED hav't you I'm not even dancing and I got intimidated I okay great job to fade okay Chandler Chandler you're laughing at that I like that you you've been dancing since you were 3 years old oh do you do you think that gives you a little bit of an advantage oh I don't have uh an answer in a rhyme like fedra which was like uh but it's been it's been 10 years over 10 years since I've like properly trained and I've never done anything like Ballroom that requires trusting another person um and so I'm nervous but also I love the show cuz it requires you know Showmanship and attention to detail and I think everyone on the stage has proven that they're more than capable of that so I'm nervous I'm excited it's going to be so fun um sitting right near you is Eric Roberts everybody ER Roberts in the house such a pleasure to see you here and this is really stepping out of your comfort zone I would imagine like a mile and a half what does your family think of you doing doing Dancing with the Stars they're all finding out right now as they watch their television no way oh that's great well wow that's funny I'm just trying to wrap my head around that all right so Brooks Brooks you were the uh the cover of sortz Illustrated you were on the cover 2023 I think we have a picture of it so when you got that call you also this year too by the way I just want to brag on the girl um what what do you think was more nerve-wracking getting that call that you would be the Covergirl or getting the call that you had made it to the ranks of Dancing With the Stars well I feel like with the the cover there was nothing I could I was obviously thrilled but it was a done deal so I was just like very excited and with this um I it was unexpected I didn't expect to get the call and then I was like oh my God this is amazing and then I met my partner and we're happy to I see what you mean though like the pictures were taken it was already done deal this has only just begun do you have Dance Experience a little bit I'm not like when you said you were dancing since you were four I was likeo UN Fair no um so I don't have that but um High School dance but you know he it's totally different this is a new challenge and so excited for it strike pose baby yeah exactly we got some moves in there we're Ready's going to come for us but all we're ready we're ready girls we're ready we're so ready I'm getting that feeling well I'm going to go to Joey now now now Joey Bachelor and bachelorett have traditionally done very well on this show you feeling any kind of pressure heck yeah uh I think from what I'm told I'm feeling good I'm feeling good from what I'm told there hasn't been uh a guy that's made it to finale so that's my own uh personal goal that we put together now so that's what we're going to build towards over you got you got this and Dwight the man um the first reveal we had down stairs you were too tall for our thing to hide you but you Daniela your partner Daniela won the mirror ball with someone tall like you am on shumer you're 610 Danielle a 5'2 oh my gosh you just realize that how do you think the height difference is going to affect your return me you're stuck with me no I'm not I'm not going to return you you're the best she she's one with Iman Shepherd so you know she knows how to work with the she she's she's amazing you know so I'm definitely going to trust her follow her lead great and have a lot of fun this is like to see everyone up here to be dancing um I can't wait oh yeah but that's the attitude you know that's what it is listen to what they say they know what they're doing work hard trust them he's not a walk in the park he's a competition and and then yell for you though with the height difference how difficult will this be um I'm definitely going to have to reinvent the wheel for sure because there's a lot of things that are traditional will not work that might be fun though you know to mix it up for you you've been dancing so long I want to ask JK um what what advice do you have for these guys or actually let me reword that I'd rather what are you looking for when you're looking to like weed out and get to that number one what are you and Carrie looking for I'm not saying you cuz I know you're just going to jump in I will say I will say one piece of advice I will say you you have to play full out you have to play full out you got to put you get out what you put in so when you go in rehearsals work hard and because you're going live on television in front of everybody so make sure you do the work in the studio um but I think as well what we're looking for is is just the full package you know the performance the technique the Showmanship but like Alonso and Julian L to the heart you know we want to connect with you in some way and so it's can heart make up for um Technique No No it cannot no not not on their scores but not on America heart goes far because do things people at home are not caring about your Technique and remember the audience at home has the vote okay they have the power you need to touch them with but also Point your toes please listen toes he's like any performance he like a singer he's like an actor if you don't love what you do if you don't want to if you don't connect with the audience if you don't give them everything you have it doesn't work you can be the best technician but you don't have heart and it's not good you your Technique could be slightly less but give them love give them a True Performance
