football on TV this Saturday and Georgia plays next Saturday against the Clemson Tigers to open the 2024 season in Mercedes-Benz stadium and so um if you just finding us subscribe tell a friend about the show and um come along for the ride we're talking about some random stats here um by way of sort of previewing previewing is not a great word because we're not going to systematically go through the roster we're not going to go game by game or anything like that we are going to we're going to pull out some items of interest to us let's just say Clint yeah and we'll discuss them maybe we'll have the same opinion maybe we'll have different opinions we don't know what the other person thinks about this but um we're all going to find out together and so let's jump in and talk about two freshmen probably Clint and my Adeline here these are probably the two most talked about freshman on Georgia's roster by a lot I would well they're the two most I think from a talent standpoint at a position that you can accentuate that Talent is the case their their ceiling is Skyhigh when you hear talk about Ellis Robinson and KJ Balden um you don't hear people measure their words with these two hyperbole is off the charts sometimes superlatives Galore it is now um here's here's the pertinent question for us when are we going to see these two young men start for the University of Georgia this season and by start we mean be on the field for the first defensive snap of the game that's I don't care what the program says I don't care what the media release says I'm talking about who's on the field for snap one that's a start in real life and so running back's a little different defensive players Kirby Smart puts out the best 11 they are the starters every single time he might rotate him through yeah I mean you could you could like you know what kind of personnel are we in are we in dime like are we in whatever so like yeah that's fine but that all that has to be factored in what week are we going to see these young men start it that's right and so it could be early as you think they're going to start week one against Clemson you could say you don't think they're going to start a single game this season right um I think if we asked this to the Georgia fan base we would get a wide swath of answers but I'm interested in your answer Clint and so let's start with KJ Balden and um I'll let you go first KJ Bal no let's start with Ellis Robinson Ellis Robinson yeah what week are we gonna see Ellis Robinson on the field starting for the University of Georgia um Daniel I I I got I love am I skyh high on Ellis Robinson ory the man Skyhigh if you're new to the podcast through the roof Skyhigh on Ellis Robinson I don't think he starts this year Daniel oh my I am Sky High on Ellis Robinson Sky High I don't think he starts for ug this year Daniel I think I'm off to a good start ladies and gentlemen I that is a fascinating that is a fascinating that is a fascinating opinion that you have you just like d ever 12 I I think I think Harris Everett uh I think they're gonna hold it down uh a lot Daniel you you like Everett you like Julio love Julio Harris and you don't think Ellis Robinson gets a start all year I don't think so I think so if I had to put week 12 is what I'm gonna say come SEC Championship you could go college football playoff there's like I'm gonna go I'm gonna go week 12 week 12 Daniel week 12 I I am much more optimistic that we're going to see Alis Robinson start earlier this year I got I'm going to put him in week six I think I think by week six tell the people what week six is give them some context for this because it's it's after it's after a couple notable games Daniel right and that's and that is so let me just paint you the picture Georgia opens the season Clemson Tennessee Tech Kentucky by week that's four weeks okay everybody knows what happens in week five of the regular season that's the trip to Tuscaloosa yeah I got him starting at home in week six against alurn I think there could be some things that happen in tuscala Clint that might lend themselves toward Kirby and Glenn and Company deciding it might be time to throw the young man out there and get him in the mix I hate to say I think some guys are going to get exposed in Tuscaloosa but I do think coming off of that game you know you'd like to take like coming off the bye would be a good time to start him I don't think you're gonna give him his first start in Tuscaloosa like that doesn't that doesn't make a ton of sense to me and so I got week six I'm going to put him on week six um and that's how I feel all right KJ Balden Clint I'll go first on this one I think I think KJ Balin is g to be even sooner okay I got KJ Balden starting week three against Kentucky holy geez I think I think Thunder Dan is gonna start the season for the University of Georgia absolutely but I I think he's holding the place Clint I think he's keeping a seat warn I think he is I think I think he is essentially keeping his hand on the seat to indicate that his friend has gone to use the restroom and as soon as KJ Balden is ready he's coming to take that seat so no disrespect to Dan Jackson I think he's a great football player and I think he's going to play a pivotal role for Georgia all season long now this is just the week I expect him to start it's not like I don't think Dan Jackson's going to play after that but I got KJ Balon starting week three Clint now it's really interesting you say so I I was down to two weeks that I was thinking through this it's week three or it's week six it's it's Auburn oh similar thought process s similar thought process I think Thunder Dan keeps his job as long as he's doing fine and I don't think Tennessee Tech and I don't think Clon is gonna give enough on it to really to really change that I think Alabama's going to come calling we're going to see thunder has many many many many amazing abilities filling the alley against milro Ain one of them nobody has that ability just to just as long as we're clear I want closer to that ability and that's that's KJ so I'm actually going Auburn week week six week six okay but I had the same exact thought process you did I'm just coming I'm coming up from crisis management instead of op now you have to do it's not if it's Kentucky I actually like it for Kentucky because it gets him ready for Kentucky and then Alabama right gives them some in there or it's going to be after as a reaction to it so both of those spots I think are the best opportunity I think you chose one I chose one it's gonna be interesting we're gonna come back after these and let you know about a couple more statistical guesses and predictions that we have but first these These are in let's talk about a couple of offensive a couple of offensive things um let's talk about some touchdowns here I'm gonna give you let's go three different three different groupings and we're just going to Simply ask the question who scores more touchdowns okay couldn't be simpler could not be simpler first grouping who scores more touchdowns Dylan Bell coleby young or Arian Smith plus two got that two spot got give him I'm gonna give him two extra touchdowns for aryion it's kind of a as a bit of a handicap speaking of FanDuel who do you like to score these touchdowns for this offense Dylan Bell Colby young or Aran Smith with a little bump notable kobby young season incoming Daniel this man is he going is he a man of integrity this is what we're learning right now is he a man of integrity it's almost as if the question was posed just to make him double down on his take it's almost as if it was thought up by an evil genius simply to back him into a corner will he take the bait or won't he when people Zig you zag give me Dylan Bell or give me death Dylan Bell is gonna have the most touchdowns out of this entire group Daniel yeah it's Dylan Bell it's an easy choice for me I am in total agreement with you um thought I might get no you're might get on the Kobe young I actually think the only other name I considered on this list was Arion Smith plus 2 because I think he's a wild card of this offense could he have seven touchdowns in six weeks Daniel I think there's a chance Ary and Smith could lead this team in snaps for a wide receiver this year and I think people would be shocked if that happened because I think people assume that Dylan Bell he is the Workhorse of this group I think people assume that a guy like Dom balock or Dom LoveIt sorry Dom block Dom LoveIt um who's a returning guy he's going to get a ton of snaps I actually think there's a chance that on the outside this coaching staff likes aryion Smith a lot and he plays a lot of football he was the only name that I even that I really I really almost took here and he may end up winning this bet he may end up being the guy that ends up scoring the most touchdowns without the handicap we won't we will not be shocked Circle back we again week seven if Arion Smith is leading this team in touchdowns we won't be shocked he knows the Playbook inside and out he's healthy he knows the system he knows where to go in the training room like all of these things are there and Carson becko I don't know if you understand this likes to throw the rock deep Daniel so he does that's that's really good anybody deep anybody deep back there to catch it that's the question yeah that's the question he's he's going to be back there the question is he going to catch it um all right now this comes we're going to keep on the offensive side but go to the running back situation we're going to give two groups just two simple groups you can get with this or you can get with that Daniel okay yeah I'm familiar the Robinson running backs notable law firm of Robinson and Robinson rodri and Branson mhm or all other running backs now we said running back not quarterbacks of course running backs Daniel who do you go with the Robinson Twins or every other running back for most touchdowns most touchdowns on the Year this is receiving and rushing it's just touchdowns that's right scored they get a special teams touchdown that's going to count score right um I I think that a Robinson is going to lead this team in touchdowns could okay so far I'm okay okay there's just too many other backs in the all other running backs category and so I'm going to go with all the rest of the running backs score more touchdowns than Branson and now this is really hard uh etn back uh into play um when I say back in play out of transfer portal back with the team um and so that's really interesting uh Cass Jones you might not like that name but uh if there's a couple games like Tennessee Tech hello uh Frasier who is C Jones gonna score some touchdowns this year period Fraser who buy all accounts is running with first team offense in several occasions in a scrimmage yes sir um out on top of that uh chony you got Bowens I mean there are a lot and then then you start with rodrik not playing week one against Clemson and who who knows after that you think Tennessee Tech is gonna really really go ahead and and try to get 20 carries in that game likely not are we gonna We looking for Alabama to control the clock I am on the road so Daniel it's I hate to be boring it's every other running back not named Robinson it I I really wanted to take the Robinson's and I think the rodri Robinson injury concern is the thing that steered me off of it um but I do think Branson Robinson's going to lead this team in touchdowns this year I agree I think at least in rushing touchdowns I think he's going to lead the team but um I think it's those cash Jones touchdowns that you're not expecting they're going to push it over the top so I've got everybody else um not the Robinson's let's go one last Quick One on the offensive well it's sort of on the offensive side of the ball well it is it's most certainly on the offensive side of the ball most of it sure more touchdowns this year Clint okay and this is in any way any form gunar Stockton jayen rashada interesting or the defense the entire defense on this on the season who do you have I this was an instant bet I went twice to the window three times to the window signed me up guys Gunner Stockton has locked down the backup quarterback position and we gonna have some games where he gonna get a lot of action Gunner St have more touchdowns than rashada and the defense including special teams and partner of us give me gunar stock on this one Daniel I think and I don't think it's particularly close I think this is a blowout um you got good you got a good Intel on that Gunner Stockton's lock down the backup quarterback position I've I've I've heard by the way really quick her notable Twitter handle Georgia fans who tell me Gunner Stockton you get that yeah yeah yeah he's the only one he's the only one yeah well um forgive me for not um rushing to believe to fall headlong into believing everything that I read on Twitter I think both these quarterbacks as we mentioned earlier in the off season I think both these quarterbacks are going to get a significant amount of run this year I don't think you're going to see a true backup quarterback this year I don't think this is just my personal speculation I don't think you're G to see a pecking order like that this year I think both of them are going to go and I think they're both going to be out to prove something I think our backup quarterbacks are going to score a heck of a lot of touchdowns this year give me Jaden rashada sure I'll take it okay to me yeah I'll take it yeah I'll take it give me rashada you take Gunner and uh we'll see ladies and gentlemen we may have this is fun for you guys it's doubly fun for Daniel and I we're going to come back after these talk more predictions for this season but first these uh and these are in fact uh just absolutely there are no plays off as a Georgia fan you understand you invested in every snap because it's either cash Jones taking it to the house or where it's Jaden Rashad or Gunner Stockton throwing a deep ball um all right let's go to the defensive side of the ball and let's talk about interceptions interceptions obviously the money stat when it comes to the defense the the big turnover the takeaway the field you know the game changer the field flipper all that stuff who's going to have more interceptions I'm going to give you three groups of people okay is it going to be Malachi Starks and dalen Everett combined is it going to be all the other defensive backs combined or is it going to be everyone else on the team that's not a defensive back combined who has more interceptions on the season um what I did here is I simply went most tent he simplified the game I simplified the game I said give me there's there's Mass there's just percentage chance opportunity right OPP a lot of hands out there I just need a lot of hands right so you look at dalen Everett and all other defensive backs that's a lot Malachi Starks and Malachi Starks and D Everett go together yes yes yes yes sorry Malachi Starks D those are those are four hands right there that's that's a good amount this morning too all other defensive backs that's a whole gaggle of us everyone else Daniel even more hands yeah but but the most talented is Malachi stars and dalen ett of that group it is Harris Ellis Robinson they're over there that that's fine Julian humph over there that's fine Daniel get you put Malachi Starks on a list you know I'm gonna choose it give me Malachi Starks and dalan Everett for having the most interceptions from this group I actually feel the exact same way I um I think Malachi Stark's gonna lead this team in interceptions I think he is an absolute Ball Hawk of a safety and I think Dal ever's gonna get his fair share I don't think dalan Everett's going to have the Kamari Lasser um DeAndre Baker type of respect that a lot of Georgia number one Corners get so I think Dal ever's going to get thrown out a lot no matter who's on the opposite side from him I don't think I don't think at least early in the season until they until they're able to see what's going on I I I don't think opposing offenses are really going to care which corner is playing on which side or covering which receiver for Georgia and so I think you're going to see a lot of d ever getting thrown at um I think they're the mo two most talented backs that we have defensive backs that we have and so I'll take Malachi Starks and dalon Everett as well all right last one Clint um and it's simply this is Georgia gonna run a kickback for a touchdown and um there's no sense in wasting the people's time here the answer is unequivocally yes absolutely you can take it to the bank George is going to run don't sleep on the fact that George is going to run a kick back for a touchdown this year Clint guys it's happening don't sleep on it um y'all just to give you some context for this one this was the easiest decision in the world for me based upon this context SEC last year had five kick returns for touchdowns okay year before that was four in the SEC okay the year before that six Daniel we we don't got nobody back there returning kicks that's good three of the ones last year Barry and brown UK were three of the six last year Aron Smith may be fast is this just kick off returns this is this is this is kickoff returns this is uh just kick returns yeah I'm just I'm just doing kick return because Georgia ran a punt back for a touchdown last year M ran a punt back for a touchdown I'm getting I'm getting to the punt returns next Daniel I'm just going one by one okay punt returns last year one two three four five six seven eight nine in the entire SEC last year one of them was in fact Malachi Muse or Muse um scared are I'm scared no give me Anthony Evans all day and twice on Sunday Georgia running a kickback for a touchdown this year gosh y'all I mean zamir white ran a punt return for a touchdown Daniel no look please say no I got I got hail's yes written on this sheet right here okay and I'm not I'm not mad about it I'm I'm gonna have integrity with my sheet I wrote yes on my sheet I want to change to know on my sheet Daniel hey already flip-flop from kby Young who knows what it'll do who knows what we'll do next Kobe Young's gonna have a cred load of touchdowns just in fact Dylan Bell runs as well for touchdowns Daniel the answer is yes did you see the electricity that happened late in the season last year with Evans did you all see the elect I he's he changes the game did did we tell you the schedule I don't know if you understand the schedule Tennessee Tech is Tennessee Tech on the schedule we may run a kick we may run a kickoff back for a touchdown against Tennessee Tech like one of them freshman running backs May field the opening kickoff that's right and he may just say this is the only time this this game I'm GNA touch the ball so I'm gonna get I'm gonna get my money's worth why don't I do something with it I'm G take it to the house I remember when a freshman running back took a kickoff back to the house in his first ever game it was against Clemson oh my God I've never been the same since CL I've never been the same since you realize that we are a week and a half away one week and a half from Georgia Clemson and mercedesbenz this time next week Daniel and I will be Neck Deep I'm talking about as deep as
