nice bit and uh yeah I keep telling uh fan I just feel like a grandpa I've just uh I can't quite get into the uh late night rhythm of matches I know that's when they all are and Us open for me starts at 1: a.m. so it's it's a bit tough but I've already got some fans uh in the in the uh chat so Edward vamos Pablo Pablo is having quite the comeback and he's looking quite good as well um you know obviously we saw earlier this morning or wherever you are in the world SEO defeated Gan in straight sets quite comfortably uh sto not yet losing a set but they're just warming up at the moment um with Alex Mickelson chosen to serve obviously Alex mikkelson having quite the year as well uh really only having joined the tour in the last 12 months or so and uh ironically public Rena Buy has been out for a while and uh obviously this will be their first time meeting each other but uh we'll see how it goes but I would love to see the predictions in the chat we've already got a few people which joined us which is lovely and uh very excited to bring you this match usually I'm I'm streaming in Australian but uh this is one of the rare opportunities where we won't be streaming in Australia uh but I do think this will be a good matchup you know it's always interesting uh thinking about the tournaments before the week before the slam and thinking you know what are people's motivations what are people's mentalities like um a close uh a close player of mine rinky hijikata uh I've grew up in Sydney with him and played him uh once I'll say but I've seen him playing you know when he was Junior when he was 12 14 and uh yeah I was he made the fourth round in the US Open you know famously uh you know had a great run and uh the year before that took it took the first set off raing AAL and Center Court so I was I was curious what he would be want to uh want to be like in the quarterfinals of this tournament um seems like you know Gan play quite well but I do think that rinky had uh you know had a bit of a mindful of making fourth round last year had has a lot of Def points to defend and uh yeah it's uh he Jo side looks like SEO is here for the here for the time and uh I feel like out of these two players Alex Mickelson has the motivations M Mickelson's yet to win a tournament Pablo you know even though he's sort of taken a bit of time off he's still won a tournament in 2022 uh he should be in my eyes Pablo should be looking at the US Open draw and having a look at himself and saying okay who have I got and uh that's what we're going to have a look at right now Pablo Carano bua in the US Open has Arthur kazal which is no easy defeat kazal I think making the fourth round in the Australian Open this year had a bit of injury troubles but uh you know so it's Pablo so Pablo 33 I'm not sure if a year you know going deep in this in a week before tournament is great um usually the week before tournaments for the Young Guns you know we've seen lots of first titles this year and especially when players are playing a lot more than they did four or five years ago uh yeah it's it's quite interesting to see the changes but uh Alex merson's getting ready to serve here and I'll get to the uh I'll get to the comments in just a moment first serve going out wide and Pablo into the net give me one second I'll just fix this uh there we go just fix this up everybody right and long 30 all yeah so I think I always have to you know happy to live with the brag of seeing C rise up you know since he was 17 I could see there was something there and I was tell my friends tell coming up to the net Kon smash it he does a nice not a smash but a nice put away volley there and we've got a break point early now mck will be hungry as I mentioned he hasn't won a title before he's you know pretty freshly on the tour you know 12 months-ish and this would be a great time to get a uh a title you know a lot of players like to sneaky wait for the week before a grand slam but I am aware that he does play the US Open he plays a qualifier Elliot speri who had a good qualifying run defeating J cona Michelson keeps it in they're going forehand to back end now good back end there from K buer back end to back end waiting for an error Nicholson trying to use utilize the forehand inside out inside out forehands now but bu TP Paints the line still going forand to forand it's looking a bit Nery no one's trying to smash it yet they're controlling the rally well backand to backand now slice from ker First Slice of the match backand to back hand still now forand to forand shot probably was a bit impatient from uh from Nicholson not a bad play but the ball's yeah the ball's bouncing too well it's only early in the match you probably need to be a bit more patient with these sorts of things Nicholson but he's young he'll learn uh going back to juice forand to forehand with the K buer with a big forehand down the line Advantage buer Buster's done well here to win the last two points I can't say Nicholson hit his return cleanly but it went on a good angle and K buers cut that by going straight down the line low percentage shot Advantage Boer nice back end o just longevity you I see his frame I worry that he's going to get some he's GNA have some issues uh later on in life I can't see him being like the same body as jovic uh and the women's uh I really like uh Jasmine palini she's made a lot of finals she's very consistent uh even though she's not so young as as the contrary contrary to popular belief uh yeah Jasmine palini um yeah check she's obviously very highly seated in the US Open she is fifth seed and she's playing Andre rescue so not a not an easy first round by no me any means but some good serving here from melson gr of buer unable to get but keeping them in play ker controlling the rally and he does so with a forand winner inside out back to juice who's going to win from my thoughts look before the match started I think I thought you know we have to pick the young local favorite in these sorts of situation not favorite but the young local person 3 days before a slam J buer he's probably not fit for like lots of five set matches I serve for Mickelson K bu unable to put that back in play Advantage but K bu I was really impressed with how he played how he's played this tournament uh you know he beat learner TN in the last uh last match and in the matches before he beat vukic in three sets he looked like he had a bit of an injury and an ace there for Michelson to make it game Karan Boer played lucky loser then chevchenko mind you these score lines are 626 love 6262 vukic was the only one that tested him and that's because I think wer had a little niggle uh he had a couple of injury timeouts vuk unable to finish the job uh and then K buer defeating learner 10 6462 and here we are in the semi-finals so you know if K buer does want to give himself a good chance in the US Open uh he's got a lot of points to gain right now I know he's protected ranking but uh right now bu is sitting at 213th in the world and you know if he really wants to you know this um his protected rankings aren't going to last for the rest of his career so he's going to need to do some uh little hops so yes from my predictions I do think there's more to it than uh than the play style because if I was looking at the play style I would pick Boer but I do think mentality is a large part of it and uh melson from his match against Eubanks yesterday he really wants this you can tell that and that is a big show of commitment to the tournament when there are lots of doubts in the week before so I do from my thoughts I think Michelson uh but look you can never be sure on these things does I used to like maray but now Rafa and Katie Bolter who doesn't like those two Katie Bolter obviously dating the Australian tennis player Alex deor he's the Australian hope the curios has been doing some exhibitions he beat Casper root quite convincingly in the UTS uh tour and uh K bu is just about to serve so I'll get to the comments later but uh yeah we're just a commentary channel here just waiting for some crowd to sit they're ready for play three closest seed to alaras who's arguably the favorite of the tournament you know jovic we saw having some issues uh needing treatment after a little practice session with the r not able to continue but the story of the week I want to talk about is Bernard Tomic if anyone remembers him the Australian who's going uh awall uh trying to distract his opponent uh in a challenger final after he lost to him in the quarterfinals very hilarious sneaking into the crowd and getting kicked out that's going to be the wildest story about pettiness I've seen in tennis all right here we go back end to back end on the first point Michelson using his for hand Inside Out strong no one wants to miss here Michelson that's backand is not convincing though nice angles from mson ker claing melson going deep ker
