MLB Power Rankings: Guardians NEW #1, Red Sox, Mariners Drop, Padres & Astros Rise

Intro this video is brought to you by bet us sports book and casino welcome into a another edition of Power Rankings our first of the second half of the Major League Baseball season and we are going to kick things off with a new number one at least I believe we will I have it set up in my prep and my notes to have a new number one but as always and those that are maybe new to this situation you will be voting on that number one spot but I think it is clear that there should be a new number one a first time number one so we are going to get into that we also have the Red Sox the Mariners the Braves we have a lot of good teams that are struggling right now Orioles are struggling Yankees are struggling yes they just took two out of three from Boston but it hasn't been good lately you've got some teams that are struggling and then some teams as the trade trade deadline looms just adding confusion to what they'll do because they're playing good baseball San Francisco Giants 4-1 coming off a four game Sweep with the Rockies do they buy do they sell the Rangers just got swept by the Toronto Blue Jays do they buy do they sell what do they going to do the Rangers this morning trading Michael Lorenzo to the Royals that's not really a big indication on if they are diving into the deep end of the cell pool because they could trade Lorenzen and not really impact their chances at making the playoffs this year that was the one Expendable piece and I like it for KC because with Kansas City now you move Marsh to the bullpen the other starters have been solid and Lorenz and ads an element to that rotation that just bolsters it strengthens it and by moving Mars to the pen you're strengthening the bullpen that's the element talked about KC needing two arms they grabbed Hunter Harvey they now grab Michael Lorenzen and by grabbing Lorenzen Marsh goes to the bullpen there's that might be your two Bullpen pieces can they pull off a trade with the angels to land warded Reno that's the next thing we'll be watching ing for the Kansas City RS but we are rooting for you Kansas City to go big at the deadline uh thank you for the 12 months Apple plays this season has not been fun I know Braves fans this has been the season from hell and it just continues so unfortunately that's the way this has been some Seasons go down that way but you're not out of it Braves are not out of it and from what I'm hearing from my my little birdie the Braves are trying to work on a package I don't know for who I know what team uh but I do know a couple of the prospects that they're dangling but we'll kind of hold on because obviously a lot can change those prospects can change uh the the players can change alexopoulos can lose out on the deal because there could be a better package but I do know AA is cooking something up and it involves multiple prospects we'll see what happens but let's get into Power Rankings again those that are new here's how it works it is not just my power rankings it is our power rankings so there are going to be multiple spot spots throughout this thing where you all are voting on how this thing is playing out make sure to hit that like if need to be on BET us let's go starting off with our 30 through 25 this is going to be a very quick power ranking because I don't want to get caught flat-footed to a big trade if we do see one going down so 30 through 25 rapid style the Chicago White Socks who by the way didn't win a game this haven't won a game since the allstar break congratulations it everything they're doing they do remember that you're not assured the number one pick with the worst record I I don't think that's what they're doing they're not tanking obviously for the worst record but damn it looks like they're trying white socks are terrible the Rockies are in at 29 they're actually dropping back a spot the Marlins move up a spot up to number 28 the angels will remain at 27 after dropping a series to the A's dropping three out of Four A's staying at 26 and the Toronto Blue Jays despite the sweep of the Texas Rangers hold at 25 they dropped two out of three to Detroit they dropped two out of three to Tampa so that sweep against the Rangers was nice but I'll be honest with you it didn't do enough it did not do enough to move them up because the team in front of them the Washington Nationals had a have been playing better since the star break and that is something else to keep in mind here this is all not just the past week this also includes the series coming out of the All-Star break so two weekends ago as Top 20 well so there's 30 through 25 let's keep motoring on here and let's put 24 through 19 on the board we're going to see the gats holding at the number 24 spot um it could have been some forward movement if they had won a game against the Padre's but they SW Cincinnati then were swept by San Diego so it sort of evened everything out they took two out of three from St Louis but that Series against St Louis was not enough to move them up they'll hold at 24 Cincinnati Reds are sliding back a spot to 23 after dropping a series to Tampa over the weekend that was really the defining element they were swept by the gats they took two from Atlanta so they bounc back but then dropping the series to Tampa moves them backwards the Cubs move up a spot after taking two out of three from KC over the weekend the Rangers are falling to the number 21 spot after sweeping the white socks it looked like maybe the Rangers had a shot to put themselves back over 500 put themselves in a spot to be buyers at the deadline and then they were swept by the Toronto Blue Jays so everything was undone that that sweep of the white socks was completely wiped out and made irrelevant by getting swept at the hands of the Blue Jays number 20 the Detroit Tigers they fall back a spot yeah they took two out of three from Toronto right out of the Dead uh right out of the All-Star break they split with Cleveland but the disappointing element why we're moving back one spot is they dropped two out of three to the Minnesota Twins Giants move up from 21 to 19 The Sweep of the Rockies is nice it adds confusion they were they dropped two out of three to Colorado out of the All-Star break they dro three out of the four to the Dodgers so you're seeing oh boy this is where we we kind of feel like we know where things are headed and then they sweep all four games against the Rockies throwing confusion into the mix they get the credit and move up two spots they move into the teens with the number 19 spot but at 53 and 55 it is anybody's guess what happens with Blake Snell what happens with the closer Deval what happens with conforto and Wade and any of those names anybody's guess at this point let's move into the number 18 spot and keep smashing that like everybody because when we get to our like goal we have the popup I'm going to start calling it the power pole where you guys decide the next three if we're in that 18 through 13 and if we're inside the top 10 you will have the opportunity to at least decide the next two so keep smashing that like everybody we're going to get into the number 18 uh now in the past you have seen me sort of move things around at this point but I'm not really going to do that because in the interest of time again I want to move quickly because I want to make sure if a trade goes down we don't miss anything so let's keep going here the number 18 spot will be the Pittsburgh Pirates they are going to hold let's put him on the board the Pittsburgh Pirates are going to hold at number 18 after taking two out of three from Philly two out of three from St Louis it look like we could move them up but then they dropped two out of three to the Arizona Diamondback so the Pittsburgh Pirates at 53 and 52 will hold and number 17 sliding back a spot despite some positive play uh there were teams be there was there was uh one team in particular behind them that clearly established themselves and and really is what is moving Tampa back otherwise they really should stay the rays are going to be at number 17 falling backer spot they're 54 and 52 they came out of the allstar break to this point they have a winning record they split with the Yankees they took two out of three from Toronto they took two out of three from Cincinnati they're doing everything you're supposed to do to move up but again the team behind them did more so the Rays unfortunately move backwards those are the breaks sometimes Raz are 54 and 52 and they're in at number 17 the number 16 team this is our biggest drop of the week and some may say it's harsh I don't think it is number 16 falling back are the Seattle Mariners the Seattle Mariners were 12th the two previous weeks but they dropped two out of three to Houston they were swept by the Angels they came back over the weekend it took all three games against the white sock but the damage was done against Houston and against the angels and with the teams that were're talking about in this in this segment of the power rankings the Padres the Diamondbacks the Mets the Astros the seatt battle Mariners are clearly the weaker team they have some work to do at the deadline incredible pitching over the last week but a lot of unearned runs coming across not enough being done with the bats ultimately a three and three week The Sweep of the white socks I'm really not counting it towards anything of significance Houston that series loss and the sweep to the angels stinks and they're they're dropping back that's the biggest fall of the week number 15 and we are halfway to our light goal everybody number 15 moving up only two spots You could argue maybe they should be moving up more but the problem is now we're getting to a point where the teams ahead of you have to have done something to fall and those teams really haven't so unfortunately the San Diego Padres only had an opportunity to move up to two spots from 17 to 15 after taking two out of three from Cleveland sweeping the Washington Nationals taking two out of three from the Orioles at Camden Yards scoring runs 40 runs over the last week is tied for second most so the Padres are doing their thing moving up two spots 57 to 51 I'm feeling really good about the Padres making the playoffs right now also moving up from 15 to 14 and you'll see why the Padre's only moved up two spots as we go through these next couple of teams moving up to number 14 are the Arizona Diamondbacks the Diamondbacks won out of the break all three of their series they took two out of three from the Cubs two out of three from the royals two out of three from the Pittsburgh Pirates you would say hey this team should move up more than one spot but again what what's happening around you plays in here this is kind of like the top 25 college football college basketball for anybody that hasn't had me uh describe it like that before that element comes into play what's happening around you where were you last week those all have a relevance when it comes to the rankings so the Diamondbacks 55 and 51 are moving in the right direction by moving up at this point and this is just partly how Seattle fell so far is that San Diego and Arizona had have been playing some really good baseball coming out of the All-Star break we have the Diamondbacks in at 14 36 runs over the last week was tied for seventh most they can score runs we know that the pitching is ultimately going to be what makes or breaks their chances in at number 13 moving up another spot from the 14 to the 13 spot are the New York Met said maybe this isn't fair unlucky number 13 really is that what we're going to to do here unlucky number 13 for the New York Mets as we're heading into the trade deadline and Mets fans are keeping their fingers crossed for Eric fetty and any other trades that may go down Jameson tyone how dare I just had the kodai senga news over this last week where he comes back pitches to a win against the Braves but then goes back on the ilil and the season is over with a high-grade calf strain how dare you put him at 13 Jim you're just asking for it I apologize New York Mets are 55 and 50 spit split with Miami took both games from the Yankees split with the Atlanta Braves ultimately two games above 500 since the All-Star break and I'm very curious to see on trade deadlines and schedules don't always line up the way you would like them to feel like this Minnesota Twins series is going to be a real indicator as to how real the New York Mets are Nats have been playing a lot against Miami and Washington and against a struggling Yankees team and a struggling Braves team they're taking advantage of that moment but they're going up against the Minnesota Twins team that really isn't struggling right now they're going to see a good team a team that's playing good baseball how do you stack up against that team they're only going to get one game in between now and the deadline to try to get an indication and they're buying as it is they're buying Mets in an interesting spot here but up to number 13 in the power rankings big week from Francis go Lindor don't want to leave that uh ignored five home runs over the last week for Lindor he has a 998 Ops in July lindor's crushing the ball and by the way for the record I have been a Francisco Lindor Defender since day one in Queens a lot of Mets fans turned on Francisco Lindor now I'm not a Mets fan so maybe that's why I didn't I've always been a believer in Francisco Lindor and I think hopefully we're now getting to a point where most Mets fans are too took way too long Mets fans you should be ashamed of yourself for how long you doubted and disliked Francisco Lindor you're seeing how good of a baseball player he is you've seen it in spurts as it is glad he's finally maybe quieting that Mets hate let's move into that 12 11 and 10 spot and again this is where you guys are going to have a say so we're going to end the poll keep hitting that like though we are only 32 away from our goal you are now going to vote on the next three teams 12 11 and 10 which of these three teams is going to make it into the top 10 with that number 10 spot and the three teams we're voting on I'll put them in the top right corner here we're going to be voting on the St Louis Cardinals we're going to be voting on the Houston Astros for the first time in a while the Houston Astros could get back into the top 10 it was the third power rankings of the year that was the last time the Houston Astros were in the top 10 and the Kansas City Royals those are the three teams that we're going to be voting on I'm going to start the poll and then we will talk about them question is going to be very simple which team makes the top 10 between the Cardinals Astros and Royals poll is live get your votes in we'll talk about these three teams first the St Louis Cardinals last week we had them in at number 11 they have not been lower than 12 in five or six weeks haven't been looking that great since the allstar break that came out strong took two out of three from the Atlanta Braves but then dropped two out of three to Pittsburgh dropped two out of three to the Washington Nationals the bats let them down against the Pirates and then the pitching let them down against the Washington Nationals 54 and 51 they could still grab that wild card spot but it's tight there are a lot of teams vying for those three playoff uh Wild Card spots in the National League the Houston Astros 55 and 50 now again like I said haven't been in the top 10 since the third power rankings of the Season since the All-Star break took two out of three from Seattle dropped two out of three from Oakland in Oakland but then over the weekend the big series they took two out of three from the Dodgers on Wednesday Dana Brown said Kyle Tucker could return should return before September Verlander talking about some of these injuries and players coming back Verlander threw 50 pitches on Saturday but there's still really no time frame on rehab starts or when he could be back Altuve Peña Diaz and bregman led the way with the bats over the last week week framber Valdez has been really good in July 3 and0 now with a 216 erra after his win on Friday against the Dodgers and the Kansas City Royals 57 and 49 swept the white socks right out of the break dropped two out of three to Arizona dropped two out of three to the Chicago Cubs so moving in the wrong direction here still making moves which I love again the lorenzza trade today is Big over this last week Vinnie pascao was good 10 for 23 Bobby Whit 10 for 24 Bobby wit now with a 6.9 fan graph war on the season that is second behind Aaron judge at 7.1 now that's not going to be the end all be all for MVP and I think most people would would lean Aron judge at this point for the American League MVP but boys those of you that joined me on the Bobby Wht MVP bandwagon and actually put some money down with bet us I'm look if eron judge like threw a hang nail and it bugged him and he really wasn't swinging the bat right for three weeks and Bobby with JR could get hot maybe that could be enough I don't want anything bad to happen to her in judge but I would like Bobby Wht to win MVP and I would like to cash in on that but Bobby Whit Jr phenomenal season if he's not the MVP he's going to be probably the runner up uh I think the argument would be there for wotto to be the runner up but I think wit potentially could sneak ahead but nobody wins money for runner up uh Brady singer looked good again this week he now has an erra of 188 over five July starts four of his five starts in the month have been one or none the only outlier was on July 14th where he allowed four runs outside of that one or none for Brady singer so those are our three teams that we are voting on let's see you have the Houston Astros at 53 % the Royals at 45% and the Cardinals at 2% that's how it's going to go the Cardinals are going to go to 12 something is up with my Graphics right now let me fix that there we go Cardinals are in at 12 The Royals are going to slide back to 11 they'll slide back one spot which is deserving after how things have been this week it is deserving for them to slide back a spot and the Houston Astros are in at 10 that is how that is go is going to go 52% 53% is going back and forth for the Houston Astros keep getting the votes in everybody let's see because uh or not the votes but keep keep bringing your likes because if we are 13 away from you guys unlocking the power pole what that will now mean that we are inside the top 10 you guys have an opportunity to get a say in on and we are five likes away from the like goal smash that like you guys are going to have a say on the next two teams and by the way super chats will not always work like that that has never been a guys may want to have the say this team's falling this team's falling this team this team or that team I think I don't think anybody's going to want to vote on this next spot so let's I'm going to let you guys vote on the at the top where do we want to go next I'm trying to figure out where I want to give you guys the chance if I give you the next one it's not sexy it's it's not like you guys aren't going to be excited about voting on the Braves I think you I think you all probably feel like yeah the Braves should be at number nine um Red Sox are struggling let's do that I think here's the question because when I get to the the the the teams after that it just Braves vs Red Sox kind of works out so here's what here's what we're going to do which of these two teams between the Red Sox and the Braves which team is going to slide back the furthest the Braves were seven the Red Sox were six they're both moving backwards you guys are going to get to decide which team is going to slide back the farthest which team slides back farther just let's put it that way Braves or Red Sox poll is up the Atlanta Braves over the or not over the last week but since the allstar break dropped two out of three to the Cardinals dropped a pair to the Reds and split with the New York Mets they're just not hitting Enough by batting average in on base they were bottom five over the last week Aria Olsen auna okay but outside of those three it's struggle City as a team the Atlanta Braves over the last month are bottom five in runs scored that's incredible that is unbelievable the Boston Red Sox are now 55 and 49 so by record these two teams are really tight Red Sox are 55 and 49 after getting swept by the Dodgers after dropping two out of three to the Colorado Rockies getting embarrassed by the Colorado Rockies and dropping two out of three to the New York Yankees over the last seven days they have the second highest OPS the second most run scored but they have the highest team erra at 699 a full run higher than the next worst team and it is not just the 20 runs they gave up to the Rockies they're giving up runs left and right O'Neal Des crushing it this week it wasn't enough Bost the Red Sox are still likely to buy but this this performance after the All-Star break is all that ownership needs to justify the thinking that they should buy softly so which of those two teams between the Braves and the Red Sox will fall farthest back so you're voting on which team goes to number number nine the team with the most votes goes to nine the team with the fewest votes goes to eight you guys have the Braves at 53% moving to the number nine spot so we've got Braves we've got Red Sox we're going to go Red Sox 53% we'll go to nine the Braves 48 it's getting tight we're at 53 to 47 is toggling 5248 if I have to break the tie I'm only going to let this go for another like 10 seconds if I have to break the tie Braves will end up being the team at nine because that's who I had in my notes in my in my in my prep we are 5149 Red Sox some some Braves fans are coming in and voting for the Red Sox I guess I don't know 5347 the Red Sox move up again it is it keeps toggling but it continually remains with the red socks ahead I'm going to hit end pole and we'll see where it finished it is finishing at 51% Red Sox 49% or 48% Braves so it will be Red Sox in at the number nine spot so in the end the Boston Red Sox drop from 6 to 9 and the Braves will only fall back one spot from 7 to 8 let's get to the number 17 and this is a little bit of a bounce back now remember we are talking about since the All-Star break because over the last week this team went three and three but they came out of the All-Star break and they took two from the Minnesota Twins it's the Milwaukee Brewers they will be moving back up oh wait a minute let me see something here nope we got to do this there we go the Brewers Twins Milwaukee Brewers will be in at number seven 60 and 45 our first 60- win team of the group took the two from Minnesota took two out of three from the Cubs but then dropped two out of three to Miami over the last week Chio contras and Mitchell and Hopkins all carried the team with the bats over the last week Tobias Meers and Colin Ray pitched well again Meyers is carrying a 310 ER Colin Ray is carrying a 36 but for Ray three of his for July starts really good so the Brewers you think about Peralta Milwaukee fans I'm not telling you anything you don't know about Ray and Meyers they've been dependable but they've got three that they can depend on maybe need one more go out and trade for Eric Fetti so the Milwaukee Brewers are in at number seven in at number six moving up two spots so Milwaukee essentially Leap Frogs Boston and Atlanta and it's stops there the Minnesota Twins benefit from the Dr drop as well because we had the twins in at number eight and we are now going to move the twins up to number six Minnesota is 58 and 46 they dropped the two to Milwaukee out of the All-Star break but took two out of three from Philly they took two out of three from the Detroit Tigers in Detroit that two out of three from Philly looms large got some good pitching this week two times from bayy over Pablo Lopez looked good and Simeon wood Richardson too Twins fans I I don't need to tell you anything you don't know about SWR but for those of you that are not following the situation Simeon Woods Richardson might be the reason the twins don't trade for a starter he's made 17 starts this year and only twice only twice has he allowed more than three runs that's giving your team a chance to win every single timeout and in fact seven of those 17 starts have been one or none now despite it he's only three and one hey twins you can score runs can you score some runs when Simeon Woods Richardson is on the mound please he's three in one we need to get him some wins doesn't have a win this month despite good starts in July number five falling back one Yankees spot some of you probably want them to fall back more but we're not going to do that we have the New York Yankees because what we do have happening is we have a lot of these teams that are considered World Series contenders or World Series favorites they're all going through their struggles right now and we're at that point now where everyone's kind of like not playing that great but we're not going to overreact we're not going to take the Yankees out of the top 10 we're not going to take the Orioles out of the top 10 or the Phillies we're not doing that we still have Boston and Atlanta in the top 10 know Kansas City Houston Arizona the Mets they're knocking on the door if we have more poor play from the Red Sox or the Braves maybe they can hop in not going to overreact we have the Yankees in at number five and in at number five this is since we got started now we debuted them and this was this was a mistake we debuted them at seven the very first Power Rankings they were at seven since then in like 20 episodes of Power Rankings the New York Yankees have been outside of the top three only three times and that is including this week with them in at number five they split with Tampa they dropped the two to the Mets that looked really bad they bounced back with two out of three in Boston they scored a lot of runs 40 runs over the last week is tied for second most but they pitched to an erra of 5117 which is bottom 10 that's not going to get the job done get your pitching right Austin Wells is crushing the ball 10 for 21 most hits on the team over the last week also two home runs as well raising his Ops up to 759 Gaber had a good week gaber's not happy about jazz Chism Gaber doesn't want to play Third Base I don't know if you've seen the quotes on that one it's pretty good Gaber Torres he had a good week eight for 22 with a pair of home runs I talked Dodgers about this with the with the addition to Jazz does we talk about jazz Chism maybe going to a new level because he's now on a team he wants to be with with some incredible teammates Gaber Torres now has some job security issues and maybe you're going to see glaber Torres start to play better 8 for 22 with a couple home runs with all of the rumors kicking up about Jonathan India and Jazz Chisum and then the trade for jazz might see the best baseball you've seen from glaber there in the Bronx uh judge was great as well eight for 20 with a per home run seven RBI and with n walks he was an on base machine a 600 on base percentage for Aaron judge over the last week he's the one obstacle standing in the way of my Bobby Wht MVP stto whacked four home runs this week as well so the Yankees sort of a with that Boston series maybe that's the bounce back maybe it's a get right we'll see how it carries into this week they still fall back one spot from 4 to 5 moving up a spot thanks to that drop will be the Los Angeles Dodgers Dodgers going from 5 to 4 they swept Boston they took two out of three from San or three out of four from San Francisco looks like where hey Dodgers are going to be top three let's go but then they dropped two out of three to Houston and that is why the Dodgers only move up one spot if you could have taken care of business against Houston I got you back in the top three but we're only going to move them up to the number four spot they are dealing with a ton of injuries they have been the walking wounded but this week they got glass now back they got Kershaw making his debut they also Orioles saw the career debut of river Ryan and he has looked good over his two starts made his debut on Monday two starts for the week just one run allowed over his first 11 Innings all of a sudden those pitching concerns that Dodgers fans maybe had a week before are alleviated with the two big names coming back and River Ryan making his debut we also I want to Spotlight Gavin Lux after a poor start to the season the first three months of the year it was literally doing nothing he has a 958 Ops in July any blue J fans that laughed at the thought of Gavin Lux being one of the return pieces for Bo bashet if the Dodgers and Jays were able to swing a trade suck on that he's he can hit guys struggle doesn't mean their career over doesn't mean they're terrible Gavin Lux has been really good in July eight for 19 over the past week yeah I just said suck on that let's go top three so I'm gonna put it shoot should we put it to a vote it's easy I you know what I'm we're going to vote on two in one we're going to vote on two in one because I think number three is who needs to be number three uh I I think this team should just be falling back one spot and I'm going to put the Orioles in at number three from two to three and three is the lowest they have been in about a month and a half they took two out of three from Texas that looked good but then inexplicably dropped two out of three to Miami dropped two out of three to San Diego can understand that San Diego's playing good baseball right now so the Orioles at 62 and 43 will be falling back a ne10 run differential over the last week 29 runs scored to 39 runs allowed and of those 39 runs 18 of them were off the bullpen there are teams pitching units as a whole that have not allowed that many runs over the last week and the bullpen by themselves did it okay let's go to um a gunner West ber adley three key bats there they're all struggling right now they got to get it together so time to Phillies vote time to vote for the number one team the question is going to be simple who's number one I am going to talk about them first and then you will vote Phillies or Phillies or Guardians uh I have the poll queued up but first let me talk about these teams so you guys are as up to speed as possible in case you are a Mariners fan or a twins fan or a Cubs fan and you need a little bit on the Guardians let's go first up the Philadelphia Phillies they were number one last week they are 65 and 40 on the season but they have dropped all three series they've played coming out of the All-Star break Dro two out of three to Pittsburgh Dro two out of three to Minnesota and Dro two out of three to Cleveland over the weekend that could be the deciding factor here over the last last week they were top 10 in pitching by erra Ninth at 327 but they only scored 21 runs that was 24th so the pitching was okay just not doing enough with the bats Turner Marsh real Muto real Muto not doing much right now Guardians Harper did hit a couple home runs but outside of that only one other hit from Bryce Harper over the last week Ranger Suarez hits the iil with lower back soreness could be one of the driving forces to uh to to Philadelphia grabbing another starter we had heard Philadelphia was looking to upgrade the rotation now they could be in a situation where they need to grab the starting pitcher we'll see what happens with Suarez and his back they this Philadelphia Phillies team has become a World Series or bust team leave nothing to chance you have to win the World Series the Dodgers the Yankees uh the Braves the Astros they came into this season World Series or bust the Philadelphia Phillies came into the season one tier below where the World Series was the goal it has become World Series or bust for the Philadelphia Phillies and they cannot leave anything to chance and the Cleveland Guardians are 63 and 42 so by record the Phillies have them by a little bit but this is not always by record Cleveland Guardians have been no higher than three at any point this year and that was the last time we got together they may jump the number two spot and go right to number one 63 and 42 they dropped two out of three to San Diego out of the break they split with the Tigers and then they took two out of three from the Philadelphia Phillies they played it close this week four wins three of them were by one run and the Bullpen other one was a three to one win on Friday in Philly so playing it tight getting the job done that's about pitching that's about your Bullpen another good week from Steven Quan we're going to start the poll now another good week from Steven Quan uh he is up to a 342 batting average at 897 Ops that batting average is impressive even if you don't like batting average anymore 342 for Steve Quan dude can hit Ben Lively look good again on Friday one run on three hits over six in Philadelphia that's a big start that tells me about your makeup mental doing that over his 18 starts only two times we talked about this with Simeon wood Richardson over 18 starts for Ben Lively just two times has he allowed more than three runs that is giving your team a chance to win every time out and that is what you're looking for the Cleveland Guardians are going to be leaning on byby and Lively when you were thinking it would be at the beginning of the Season be and McKenzie and then BBY and then Williams they're working it out they're going to need to grab another starter if they want to I is it has has it become World Series or bus for the Guardians we will see with what they do at the deadline if they get very aggressive and if they go get at one of those big starters that's available that's an indication that they have locked into a World Series or bust mode right now the World Series is the goal hope you can understand the difference with that thought process the World Series is the goal for the Cleveland Guardians now they're that good of a team is a World Series or bust is anything but a World Series Championship a failure for the Cleveland Guardians at this point I think we'll see by how aggressive they are at the Outro deadline so the Voting is looking very strong for the Cleveland Guardians and I I I kind of felt that it would be I'm glad that you guys are locked in with me on that Philadelphia is going to drop to the number two spot and the Cleveland Guardians for the very first time all year will be the number one team in baseball in our power rankings it has been the Phillies the Orioles the Dodgers the Yankees they have all been at the number one spot Cleveland had not gotten above the number five spot three weeks ago then we moved them to four then we moved them to three and now they jump the number two spot they don't even have to take the the next rung on the ladder they're
