this Little League World Series the last for the outgoing president of little league International Steve Keener who's been doing this for four plus decades and if you're going to go out how about going out with an Extra Inning game to decide the championship we thank Steve for all he has done here and his impact on Little League cannot be cannot be overstated he's been outstanding and I'm sure he is enjoying the fact that you got a team from Chinese taipe against a team from Florida but he brought George Bush Jr here and Rachel Robinson he called it one of the highlights of his career he had so many of them and we are greatly appreciative of his efforts he's watching with everybody else will they bunt Alexander with the runner at second base Norton he gets it down oh it's perfect Lake Bar's going to win the Little leag World Series championship [Music] Chinese Taipei in shock it was fielded and thrown to first base nobody was there on an incredible bunt by the last hitter in the order Hunter Alexander and for the first time Florida are Little League World Series champions two to one is the final and all the Florida kids are gathered and holding and hugging and consoling the kids from [Applause] Taiwan for a team that doesn't make many mistakes unbelievable you look the second baseman was not covering the base he didn't look he just threw it nobody was home there's nothing you can do the one mistake they make comes back to haunt them in the loss we were just talking about in the top half Taiwan didn't chose not to bunt a team that bunts all the time chose natu Florida who's the big Bashers lays it down perfectly to end up walking it off on a bunch on a bunt incredible Hunter Alexander you were waiting for that ball to roll out of a dirt and maybe go foul and it never did wow it was fielded by the pitcher and Jo off threw it to first figer and I got to get the out and he threw it into right field cuz nobody was there man your hearts are broken for Taiwan watch this bunt first Bas right there there's nobody from second base covering and wouldn't it be so appropriate that the guy that came came on in relief lean Norton scores the winning run as Lake Mary little league just outside of Orlando lost the game here and in their eighth game here in Williamsport celebrates an eighth inning walk-off to win it all Florida has never won a championship this is their ninth time being in this game they're 0 and eight no team has never won a be this many times and this is how they do it unbelievable [Applause] game that's the beauty of L leag when the last man in the order can end up being a hero and that is exactly what Hunter Alexander has been and will be they rallied yesterday against Texas they came from behind today against Tai as they get the tying run in the last inning and the winning run obviously here in the bottom of the eth boy those are real real authentic Smiles man that has been a long summer and they fought tooth and nail they grinded bivo and Norton the two kids on the mound today were outstanding and I'll tell you what we are not going to forget DJ Ms Entourage Alexander the personalities DJ getting the wi the hit to tie the game them showing us so much personality here throughout the week but then be able to come back now twice two days in a row well take a lot they deserve it all these little Leaguers will tell you you know when the team is put together you get a whole bunch of neighbors together and slowly the neighbors become friends and then the friends become teammates and then the teammates become family and that family right there is celebrating something they will never forget a Little League World Series Championship only one guy up here to tell us what that feels like and how their lives are going to be changed yeah definitely we know they're getting a parade when they come home the pure joy happiness they are champions for the rest of their lives they can never take that away how many games they play nine games eight or nine games to come back as coach has given Howard J kiss right there man give credit to Tai P though Taiwan and they played one heck of a game again it comes down to mistakes in little league and the one mistake was that play right there everybody should have their heads up hot they really should and you can see they are so despondent and distraught and their manager who is such a wonderful guy and loves the game of baseball and has coached other coaches who have won championships Li changa should be so proud and he was so affected by losing in 09 and now again in 24 one of the most beautiful moments of sportsmanship too was the immediate reaction of Florida wasn't to celebrate but was to go and to told Taiwan they were on their knees they were in tears and they immediately went to them to hug them to feel for them and not celebrate in front of them yeah one of the best most competitive intense all sorts of reviewable let's go back and see how that played out moments World Series Championship let's go Julie I got DJ yes of course lean Norton and Coach with me holy cow you three let's just start DJ with you you had the game tying hit with two outs bottom of the six and once again this team just will not not quit what is it about this group DJ it's really special about us like like when we're losing we get up we keep hitting and hitting naan you were sick yesterday couldn't even play left off the roster and you threw three and two3 today to finish the game how are you feeling and how did you actually do it I'm so happy right now I was just trying to locate uh they only got the one run from the bun from getting walked and stuff so I just knew I had to throw strikes coach four elimination Gam games you had to get through you had to come back twice last night in that semi-final you had to come back today in this championship match what is it say about this group hey they don't stop they don't stop and I had to tell this kid he wasn't wasn't going to play yesterday and I told him to get healthy to have the game of his life today and what did he do shut the door had the game-winning run lean Norton you also said in the Dugout going into to that extra innings you said hey look this is written in the books you had that right how did you know all of this how did you believe in this team so much so I was I was prayed over earlier earlier in the week he prayed over me and then he talked to my father later and he said it's already written it's already done it's going to happen so all we had to do is just believe and do everything that we were created to do what we built ourselves to do what we practiced to do and here we are first time a team from Florida has ever won the Little League World Series what do you think about that lean uh honestly I don't think I've been able to let it set in right now but it feels so good what about you DJ first time for Florida how about that what are the people at home saying like you guys did it you guys will always do it and you guys are the best I've talked a lot about this being the summer of redemption you thought you should have been here last year you proved yourself to come back this year and what a what a finish that was when you think about what youve all had to get through what's going to stick with you the most with this group uh probably the tying run I mean everyone in the Dugout was crying as soon as that happened and then we realized that we have to go back on the field what about you DJ we we weren't hitting so then I was like it's not about me it's about my teammates and my team and then I was like that's that's the perfect ending right there congratulations you guys well done Florida with its first Little League World Series title let's go yeah Julie thank you very much it never gets old it just gets better six years in a row the United States has won the Little League World Series Championship and for the second year in
