hi I recently got this new power meter this is the mine PES p55 Bas power meter it's pretty cool um they sent it to me uh to do a little review on it is a spider based power meter and it is rechargeable which is exciting right now I have it here on my Canon Dale time trial bike but I got the power meter and unboxed it came in like a cardboard box as things do um from China shipping was actually pretty quick I think they said that shipping is about 15 days this is shot on an insta 360 Ace Pro thank you insta 360 for sending me these cameras I think they're great unboxed the power meter and it came with chain rings so it is a four bolt design um Shimano BCD 110 asymmetric four bolt chain Rings if if you so choose um you have to select them and buy them separately so it doesn't come with chain rings but if you buy the chain Rings they actually came packaged pretty well in like this dense foam both of the power meter and the chain Rings had pretty good packaging for being such an inexpensive unit and they came with a charging cable as it should they also came a little disassembled so some assembly is required but the cranks came with some O-rings some bolts for the chain rings so that'll come with the crank set itself which is nice to come with bolts often times you have to buy those separately it also came with the power meter crank arm and spindle assembly which had this little like castle nut I suppose you could call on it and then the other crank arm these remind me a lot of like rotor crank arms in their design like a machined aluminum I would say and it came with a spider separately as well packaging was all excellent seems like these are going to ship really well you have to attach the spider onto the crank arm but once you get it attached it comes with Loctite on it which is a nice little touch and torque spec specifications and then it comes with this little insert so you can use a standard Locker ring tool like a Shimano lock ring for your brakes or for a crank set so uses the same as that I went ahead and slapped on the chain Rings just to see how they would bolt up plenty of Loctite in here which was awesome and then my plan originally was to put it on my Trek imanda it does say on the website that you can't install these on to a t47 inboard bottom bracket but I wanted to test that so I took my crank set off of my Amanda and went ahead and installed it note these are a 24 mm spindle so they'll fit on almost anything with a Shimano diameter so Shimano bottom brackets will work just fine anything except for that t47 inboard bottom bracket you can see me installing it on here uh it actually does come with the other side locker ring I think originally they just came with some Loctite on it and I saw maybe they had some people with the backing out of that non- drive pretension ring but it comes with like an o-ring on the inside now and then a inner bolt that you can put pressure onto that O-ring so it'll just never back out which I think is awesome other than that it installs very similar to Shimano the spindle length is almost identical there is some rubbing on the drive side if you put it on the t47 in board it doesn't work you can't pre-tension it correctly and once you do get it spaced out the correct way um there's a little bit of play or a little bit of rubbing on the drive side where it hits that frame so does not work on t47 in board bottom brackets as they say on their website fancy that I'll put a few videos of the clearance of that up so that is when I decided to transition to this canondale and place it on the Canon you can see on the can I had Shimano 12-speed altegra um crank sets with this big old 58 to chain ring which is nice for time trials not very nice for riding any other time but for time trials it is perfect and so I pulled this off um I had a stages power meter on there rest in peace stages so I pulled that off and I've actually done a little Machining as in angle grinding on on this crank set or on this chain ring to make it fit the stages but originally I probably should have just gone with the machine because getting like industry prices on the stages is more expensive than buying this machine spider based power meter so I pulled those original chain rings off and then put my time trial chain ring onto the mine PES p505 power meter charged it up and um yeah it it fits perfectly this is a bb30 bottom bracket like one of Canon Dale's original pressfit bottom brackets which I usually don't like but in this case it afforded me tons of clearance uh to fit this uh spindle because it's a little bit smaller so slapped this bad boy on their huge chain ring shout out to the National raccoon Association but I also wanted to check some other chain Rings whether or not they would fit on and 12-speed 11speed chain rings from Shimano they both fit onto this power meter just fine so if you have an existing 12-speed or 11speed chain ring from Shimano that'll swap on totally fine it is just a circular spider so there will no be no clearance issues with those weird little flanges that are used by Shimano went ahead and tossed it on to this bike which was a breeze of not on this bike I actually have like kind of a weird setup I've got Shimano uh chain and chain ring 11speed Shimano chain ring with 12-speed Shimano chain and then I've got a Shram rival derailer not the long cage but it's also hooked up to a blip box and I've got little blips on the top and bottom and then I've got Shimano cassette because it fits on free Hub bodies that are good and I think the Shimano chain and chain Rings or Shimano chain chain ring cassette they all run a little bit faster for time trials we're talking very low watt numbers but every little bit counts in a time trial I took this thing for a ride and it went perfectly feels just like a standard power met I would definitely recommend this guy it actually looks from the front like you have probably more tucked in than a quirk power meter or even that stages power meter as far as aerodynamics go so your frontal area is probably a little bit less especially if you're running a big chain ring like this one by makes everything nice and tidy but everything ran perfectly I compared my power numbers to some other uh Power meters that I've run and everything checks out so it seems pretty accurate GP llama also did a video on this I I'll link that in the description of how accurate this power meter is which it is good for the price they have made an amazing power meter speaking of the price it is currently on their website $2.99 and I was given an affiliate code a 10% discount affiliate code if you're still around at this point congratul ulations there's 10% off of this already very inexpensive power meter in the description use that code go get yourself one of these things if you have a Shimano capable bike non t47 and you want a power meter on there for very inexpensive that'll run perfectly highly recommend you can also choose a bunch of different crank Lanes there I think are five different crank LS all the way from 165 up to 175 I've gone with the 170 and they work perfectly for me thanks for watching this video thanks machine for sending me this power meter excited to race some time trials on it see you [Music]
