fitness test cuz when we spoke to you you're like I've just got to check a couple of boxes yeah oh my God and he wanted to play for Tom they were crosses not ticks yeah they were crosses I'm probably yeah yeah I was a bit naive to think I was did going to try and get up we tried I tried everything that's all I could do I guess but how do you I go in the fitness s what I pass uh no comment but tell Nathan one thing you had to do it was actually I did most of it the day before and it was probably more how I pulled up what's one thing I'd have to do for the fitness test run walk okay that's out for yourself um take a few bumps how you feeling movement so just running Nathan up and downs like as in you do a bit of contact get down the ground get back up do a bit of contact again it's a bit of yeah how long for a couple of minutes yeah yeah not long you're not trying to fully fatigue yourself it's just probably more your movement whether your body can handle it yeah probably probably play and you toid out then then you had to sing the song backwards after that what song is that is a do Club song [ __ ] the right way around yeah you you F go we are hoping that you you will you tick of approval you are playing tomorrow night yeah yeah now all good pulled up well so yeah you're not lying to us are you maybe mg doesn't lie G the big part about the team over the last uh probably eight or nine years has been you and Tom Baris and Tom has been sprung having breakfast and or lunch with um brunch could it be brunch and all yep and it's been reported was we talked about it yesterday but also now it's the back page is today's paper I know everyone's got the right to choose what they want to do but he's got a long-term contract without him next to you and I know Harry Edward is coming up and he's going to be a good player yeah that would be a big big loss Sean thinks he's the eggs Benedict Arnold yeah of course of course it would um I personally I love Yeah Tommy's one of my best mates so um I love him yeah yeah of course I wouldn't want him to go um but has he talk to you about it is it a conversation that you even have oh no no not to be honest no not really like that's a bit more of a personal thing I guess between him and the footy Club um so yeah we'd sort of stay out of that sort of stuff and yeah it's a bit I feel a bit for the whole situation because that this stuff happens all the time yeah it does yeah it it does it honestly I mean Sean Dary was in last year this is what was going on when he was going definitely going to jalong definitely going toong and you cannot blame people talking to other clubs and stuff like that you got to look after your future you know yeah you are you're a business yeah and like I said it is it is a thing between the footy club and Tom and and small window to make money is the thing yeah and I don't I if I know Tom it's not just purely about money and all that sort of stuff for him so um that'll that'll sort of that helps doesn't it oh of of course because you can buy goods and services but but there's only one you can only have one person in your team making GV money so the problem isn't it yeah that's true gv's not making GV money that's just says otherwise believe everything they say we've got your tax return right here million I'm still looking for it so we got to that point of the Year where there's there's a lot of speculation we just say say Tom for example he's on the back page of paper on the East Coast there's a whole lot of other players whose names are getting either uh looking at being traded from Club to club and or coaches moving and that's happening at the moment towards the end of the year at the West Coast Eagles people moving on already and and deciding their um Futures yeah it's just that time of year um with retirements as well and uh a lot of movement with players and coaches and different staff so yeah we've obviously Matty Knights is finishing up and um at the end of the year which is a bit of a bummer he's such a good fell and he's been great for us at the footy Club but um that's sort of yeah you know like that's just the industry that's just what we're in so um so he got another geek or is he he just wants to move back to the east coast I'm not 100% sure but it it's more to get back see his family and um he's obvious fromed along that way so for him probably to get home and and spend a bit more time back there but um I mean he was there every second week what's the problem yeah we travel a fair bit there but uh yeah it's industry it's it's not like a massive surprise to anyone I I don't think it is but um it's just the way this back end of the year rolls so uh I love when retirement season comes around at you know at this time of the year cuz this is makes Sea cry so Sean sees a sports person retire if there's a certain if certain elements are in the mix it's when their voice cracks is it Sean they do it all the time it's very difficult to tell the and you let yourself cry too don't you it's like when I watch when I used to watch um was it um Home Makeover Extreme Makeover home Edition and when they were screaming move that bus and I was screaming with them move that bus and I just let myself cry make sure no one's coming over but just really feel the emotion what makes you cry go what do you let yourself cry with what do you like you know take the emotional plug out of and just flow and the GU under the guys of cutting onions yeah uh look it's not a I don't really cry which is I it's I'm not trying to be tough it's not got nothing to do with that um Mar and may got me movie I reck that was the last time I I fully Red Dog too you know the standard thing funerals and a few retirement retirements and in in your playing career whose retirement affected you the most um probably bungers yeah right yeah yeah bungers or Master they all sort of doing a different way I guess but um yeah bungers bungers was was sad same go um great even though he was there for 48,000 years exactly not just that M losing masto was I mean it was a team based style icon I do love masto's outfits it look like he put glue over himself and ran through an up shot but it works you can pull it it looks amazing that's what frustr he's literally going to Coachella every time I'm how can you wear the worst thing ever and make it look You' got a talking about Transitions and getting out of the sorry the water and you say things like why' they do that it's like exactly what would you do I know why' you do that but uh then you move on to other sports so last night if you were watching the freestyle BMX you saw that um Natalia deem from Australia had a brilliant run early days and then the Chinese uh came out and they went ballistic they Natalia unfortunately in her second run she was going to pull off another move but she missed it because she had her foot in the wrong part of the pedal so she over didn't go for it and it probably cost her definitely a silver medal because she was she was very close do they have the um herdy spiky pedals you know the ones that if you do miss a pedal and then it swings around and gets you in the shin it's like a rabbit trap on your leg I totally get it totally get it no they have um yeah they have uh what would you call them little uh oh Miss sandal yes that's what I have little nodules nodules that's a good word thank you guys a sports report anyway Natalia has done she's had five knee reconstruction amazing she's only yeah she's only got two that's insane 26 but she couldn't hold back her emotions after winning the bronze last night she was absolutely outstanding I take my hat off to her and and you just really connect with a person like this I'm not sure if I'll be walking at 30 hopefully let's see if I make the next one but I'm definitely going to be in some pain but to push through all of that and just come out on this side with a medal I can't even put it into words it's very hard to do that okay Sean let's talk about your AFL career how long did it go for uh 14 and a half years how many constructions uh two um and you've got a fair whack of life left so for was it worth it for that slither of fun years yeah now to deal with what you're dealing four years ago when I was staring the bar down the barrel of a hip replacement at the age of you know low 40s what what would have been then 42 43 um I was thinking I don't think this is this is going to ca I'm going downhill rapidly yeah but but when you're going downhill rapidly do you think back to the good times that did they help luckily he got all that try to hang on to it like it was lucrative when he did it it was so lucrative first contract 4 half grand um so much money minimum contract these days made it rain made it yeah made it rain uh but yeah I find I found ways around it so I'm looking on the brighter side I've still got my kn so it was so you look back and go it was worth it at this point in time okay that's good five new reconstructions unbelievable the Altis in a couple years that will be off the chart she'll be you know new replacement business she Bend someone's going to snap celer 100% can we talk about Logan Martin what a devastating um competition well his second run was looking outstanding and definitely a metal run but he stacked it right on the last bit and that's the thing with the freestyle BMX that now we're all experts in cuz we've all been you know Southside BMX was my home grand ball Creek and you learned that after a bit you know you've really got to put it on the line if you want to take the title yeah my brother was the vmx state champion there you so at the racing i h into the freestyle no no no no just at the racing so like my every Friday night of my youth was at the BMX y the men last night in that freestyle were unbelievable the stuff they were doing unbelievable you see the coaches that they have too so Brian nist uh who if you play uh the BMX games that are on PlayStation he's one of the best you've ever seen and he's coaching the US team crazy um I'd wonder if skateboarding is going to return because people panned it this year they said it was boring to watch it didn't have the excitement of the BMX that's for sure it looked like what they do down the park and and it's not just one country saying that it's the consensus of the world going that was but yet in Tokyo it was awesome what happened well that was the bowl that we watched the Australian guy win the gold medal on so there was a there's more flowing action so when they're doing the street tricks and they're just coming up with you know that gr grind down grind down the um the railing and they try to do those flips you know they get a number of goes at doing it but they're just doing one massive trick and trying to land it and all the time that we're watching 90% of the time they didn't land and then you're going uh and you're sitting out there in 40° heat watching that and we know we can't do it but you're sitting there going I can do that you know what else I reckon I could do um and we won a bronze medal in it last night I'm Kay target shooting yeah Penny Smith I'm now an expert in that as well oh I mean I do have a bit of Heritage cuz my dad was a clay target shooter so spent a bit of time down at the espr bay Gun Club yeah um well I got to wait for train driving or darts p p p pull that that seems like a hell of a lot of f we got to mention Jessica fox now I don't I'm not going to have time to tee off in the AAL Council but I'll get back to them I'm not going to I'm not going to you want me to not pay my rates in protest well maybe should we get a representative up from the council so he can have go to them directly yeah no problem any stage at any stage I will have a GU the isal can what they've done for the isal football club but we won't um let Jess fox go unnotice because what an amazing human being and to have her as our flag bearer before the games because she was so successful I know and to and to win two gold amazing and that photo of her on the podium jumping up into the air have a contract by the end
