to play one or two long balls in behind especially with the pace of you know the liks of Chino and Gonzalo ques it's just so easy for them to just uh tear Burnley apart you know they've had a unstable couple of weeks a lot of outgoings and I think that might be reflected on the pitch here because the defense just looks to little be a little bit all over the place in the opening 11 minutes so far but we'll have to see how the game goes on whether uh manager Scott Parker makes any adjustments to that or whether his side just going to have to uh hope and pray that you know the likes of chin know in games like this you've got to stay tight and you know keep it nice and tight at the back and if you're you know giving away possession easily you know of your own doing it's going to really uh instill a lot of uh you know a lack of confidence into your team pie of player now from wolves there very much growing in this game good ball from cerea into the path of gues can he play it back to physical presence in that box and I think that might be one of the reasons why wolves have uh struggled for so many years on goal scoring it's just they they just lack that natural number nine profile R gimenez what a players so many goals he got for wolves a good couple of years ago sometimes they didn't have to be the best cross just put it into that dangerous area into the opposition's penalty area and the Mexican would do the rest play is straight for P him now wolves down his left hand flank with Pense nor for support and Burnley just sitting deep and making it difficult for wolves to break them down but a lot of fluid play a lot of fluid movement see now the two defensive midfielders in Doyle and trii they're dropping deep to help the central Defenders whereas lemur on the right and Ani on the left are really getting forward to keep the width and then the freeing behind the striker there sitting narrow making it really difficult ult with a lot of movement roaming from positions from wolves it's very good to watch they get to really create a one-on-one chance but Burnley are really struggling with the high intensity they have one or three kick though just inside woles half will take it back and slow maybe You' like to see them go a little bit more physical and go more forward will he has to be retaken by the referee but we are halfway through the game goer so just when you think he's about to score one of the goals of the Season he blazes it over the bar or it might have been saved by haki and the goalkeeper's gone down injured here I'm I'm not quite sure from mcari maybe it's just being hit on the head by the goalkeeper and there maybe some concussion concerns as you say was looked like maybe it was going wide and then the keeper maybe got to touch it Hannibal Med be down his right hand flank but there's a lot of movement in that front four but at the same time unlike the the woles front four if you will they look very fluid and they look the chemistry is clicking they look like they're linking up well there's short passes here there's good runs whereas I look at this Burnley fromont fall they don't haven't had the ball as as much as they would maybe like all the first five minutes they've had just after half an hour here at molu but they don't look as confident with each other the don't want to maybe pass and the movement doesn't look years where it was instilled to play you know straight kind of old school football 442 knock the ball long keep possession I'll break off a little bit because wolves com forward again with podent in the uh on the attack he's on the uh right wing looks to play a d ball into the box into the feet of Sarabia then it's C Again by Burnley back to eight Nori and then he's going back to Doyle and then he will spread the ball back out wide that's a nice bit of play there from do look really sharp so far Bor to Sarabia looks for wedes but it's c yeah when you've had you know a manager for so long and then you changed the convincing company and obviously you had a new philosophy where you're playing attacking football it's really exciting and then that manager goes and you're left with a team where you've had lots of exits and a rather unstable Squad I mean where do you go as a manager if you're Scott Parker to try and pick up the pieces and create a new kind of footballing philosophy yeah it's the norm that works very well for Burnley it kept them in the league for many a years or do I play a more convinent company ball which dominated the championship but then struggled and went straight back down in the Premier League or do maybe former hybrid what players can I get him what players have I got he one of them isn't it and I think Scott Parker the first two games of the Season you like to think a 4-1 Victory a 5- nil Victory you scored nine goals in two games it's all positive then unfortunately you go away to Sunderland even though they went down to 10 men you lose one n and that's maybe where the alarm bells ring that yeah we' had two good results oh this third one didn't work do we have to change anything and that's unfortunately I think where their managers can just get that little bit of do I do I not and that's where things can change whereas wolves they've had a solid foundation for a long time and I think right now that's paying off in in how they're playing so far absolutely I mean you know you look at that Bernie side and they did lose one nil but they had you know like Foster who was you know recently gone they had Perez who was not playing today James Trafford who's gone as well and then even before that you know the cariff game which they won 5 nil it's it's almost completely different teams you're seeing here and I think the more that there's an exodus you know vitinho culen kosho all gone Dar OA you know it's almost a different lineup and I think that's just it's very worrying I think for Scott Parker as well you know going forward especially this there's two days left for the transfer window and if you've got a Max Exodus going on in your squad you're left with almost you know Rubble behind in which you've got to you know build a skyscraper of a winning championship team and that's going to be really hard if they're going to have to stick out to the January window to bring in new recruits after being left with a threadbear squad but you know as it stands they're playing a you know a wolves team who aren't exactly informed but finished the season well last year and have a strong team out today but they're holding on well I just say that they give the ball away and it's Doyle coming forward gives the ball to opponent has a strike it's intercepted well by Egan Riley balls back to Doyle though he Clips the ball forward and it was just looking for the Run of guz but it was cut out by warl there and um Bernie retained possession of the ball yeah I think that was a really good idea though from Dole wasn't it I think he sold everyone with his body position I think he sold gues unfortunately that he was going to go to CH quo down this left hand flank and he was going to maybe try and put the ball in the the Lively Winger but Doyle sold everyone with that no look reverse pass into gues and as to say I think gues was the one who if anything fought that's where he would going into be made a run into the back post to take a touch get his head up he puts a fantastic ball into the box where he stays on side he's got a good run and then as the ball's coming over over he thought hiel was going to come out and just claim it and then it was just that much of a good ball cuz it curved into where the keeper thought he could get it curved away from where he was going to come and claiming the number 32 for Burnley and it was good finish from GES as you see I thought he was going to fall over maybe make him meal of it but he just tapped it into an empty net at the end of the day and I would say that was closing would have to look at poo and Dawson they're not blessed with Pace as Central Defenders are there not not many are but you might look at some Central Defenders for over teams and go if I play this ball in behind they're just going to get dealt with you look at I know it's a different example you look at someone like Spurs they've got someone like Romero and Van if you play that ball over the top they'll probably beat the striker for Pace or the Wingers for Pace if you look at craigg Dawson that's what you want to do put balls in behind him if you put Lum balls in the box that's playing into his game if you're just having players sit in front of him that's play into the number 15 the captain on the night wolves that that's playing into what he wants you want runners in behind for for Burnley against someone like that like you said there's just nothing happening for that whereas you look at wolves they just it's so fluid so much movement you seeing it Nori move into the middle Chen been there for for wolves done that from Juventus and Southampton midfielder but he'd be the first one to come on with the 30y old so you know youd like to think that TR can get back up and maybe even just eat into halftime we're only about five minutes if that maybe less now where we will have a few added minutes as well to go after we've done with the 45 minutes of the first half but yeah you would say that maybe he just get into halime and slowly take him and he's still down so it's still a bit more worrying looks like again as you say we unfortunately our studio monitors on this the price up I think we've seen that with loads of teams specifically so team in the championship with Burley maybe look at leads if you've sold georgino Rutter for £40 million if a club comes y going into another club they go well you've just sold with 40 million we you know you've got a bit of cash in the bank to see him with Burnley some like OD bear going to Spurs they know the other teams you've got a bit more money than you're playing on here so it puts them not in the best position but again sometimes in a championship all it takes is an injury and then a player to come in and change then slams it home on the volley on his left uh and it's moments of quity like that that you know quite irreplaceable in players but he's been taken off here after a pretty pretty decent performance game out and you never know if Burnley push players forward Chan could get a goal dou could get goal B maybe an assist Gomez he's a physical threat from set pieces woles can still come forward and get goals and build confidence onto the weekend's Clash absolutely I mean you know Gary on should be looking at this now and just thinking well how many can we rack up because Burley don't seem to pose much of a threat on the attack and you know it's one of those where do Burnley uh and Scott Parker Chiefs to then attack the game and try to get back into it or do they just think you know what let's just let's give it a miss and recuperate rest maybe not damage confidence too much you know tuna loss to Premier League side is respectable at the best of times but considering Burnley of playing a mentioned come back from his Lan olympos another player who you know was you know maybe put the Forefront of wolves's plans a couple of years ago and then slowly edged out and you get to a point as a player where you just think if I'm not playing football I'll go somewhere where I will be and uh but it's good to see now that he's getting some game time it's a good ball inside and it was missed by everyone most importantly of all Mario Lina and I think it might taking a little flick off the head of Joe warl and it will be another cor to wolves but that was a really nice and Swinging ball into the six yard box there yeah wolves as well and we spoke about how possibly before they the last year or so that really have that physicalness whereas maybe look five six year ago under spiritos Santos they had rul gimenez they had options in the area with big players that they can put the ball into and you can rely on them their deliveries of NZ and opportunities there and that's something that's season you're not full fitness compared to where you'll be in four six weeks Tim or anything like that it was a good spot to make the run but if the ball's more into hang's feet where he can take control of it link up the play I know he's a little bit different to GES who he's come on for but he's more of a number nine he he Swang but that doesn't mean he's slouch when it comes to linking up the play but wolves have won the ball well and they're flying forward they are indeed Gonzalo cuz coming forward he's kind of elbowed out the way by humph but the referee sees no harm and play waves on and now it's Burton to come forward the game has just opened up a little bit here we're heading you know towards the last 20 minutes he's just uh hit the 70-minute mark and the game starting to Substitute number 23 he then goes back to [ __ ] at times it's almost like Burnley are playing with three left wing backs it's quite difficult to uh judge from our uh Studio here but we're doing our of the game going for wolves just pinging passes left and right he's had a fantastic evening so far lovely ball from him back out to this right hand side to start this wolves attack and they're looking mean and they're looking for the further wolves they are indeed it's pretty Relentless from G Neil's Madness hang gets the ball on the right wing plays it into lamina The Substitute came on for trior who went off injur just in the stroke of halim always one of the most annoying times to make a substitution I think just in the just before the Hal time whistle blows kind of sco as your been fed up of watching him do that kind of stuff from the substitution bench so came on the pitch and sort of took M into his own hands but it's long board the back post looking for totty Gomez but ball out wide to hang Chan again he takes the ball his right foot thinks about going down the line decides to get hit then goes back to Bueno with the ball inside the Wolves half it's a long ball forward by totty Gomez looking towards Chino he squares up L Foster but then decides against I think he was offside actually chinho just straight offside a little bit and um it was Perez just able to uh let him wander on and then uh it was brought back for the offside flag which warl will take now but I mean you know games like this are always quite difficult to uh kind of manage as a as a as a coach because obviously you want to win games as a football manager and as a football player of course you do that's your job but then again you also look and think you know you've got bigger priorities so you know after this game where do you think Burnley go from here they've lost two-nil today but they they've not been atrocious they've not been great so you know you want to bring up some confidence that's maybe have been knocked a little bit tonight where do you go then as a as a manager and as a player playing for this team I think you would have to unfortunately maybe fall back on the opening two games that you had there two good victories a 4-1 win against Luton one of the sides he came down with take a lot of confidence in that CaRu and then a 5-nil victory in the second game a lot of goals have been scored a lot of positivity unfortunately now you've had a defeat away to so defeat away to wolves it's one of them where as you say I think sometimes you can look and go look just wasn't our night wols were good tonight they made a lot of changes fresh legs as well that can always make a difference early on in the season that you've had I know Burnley made good six changes as well but 10 changes and you only kept a key player in the N Nori who's then gone off on the hour mark really a lot of fresh legs just to be able to put that High Press into into action made it a lot easier for wolves I think to do that and put bur under pressure in their own first third and then he look at it and go look wolves are Premier League side and established Premier League side it's one of those move on to the weekend let's try and move on we've got this weekend then we've got two weeks for international break after that as well let's focus on this weekend put tonight behind us let's have a go on Saturday in the early kick off then if nothing else happens but out we've got two weeks to focus on it and then build on that like you said about the transfer window but a few Bentley he's coming he's not the First Choice goalkeeper is he you know he's got Jose sarin in front of him as the 31 year old English goalkeeper just came in 18 month ago so he wants to prove a point yes but you also look at it he hasn't been challenged at all tonight whether that's from a long shot whether that's a shot at him look at shots on goal ble had one attempt one's been blocked n On Target n off Target sometimes it's just right I'm 20 30 yards out let's take a touch let's have a strike at the goalkeeper see what he's all about he might make a mistake he might flap his lines he might flap the ball away Falls for a rebound in the six yard box you never know where as you look at wol 16 attempts six on goal they' sometimes taken shots from outside there in poen a few in the first half as well they're not afraid to whereas Burnley want to work it into the area so much they're so obsessed with we've got to play it this way play it that way play it into the area wolves will just go you great some space for me dos had a shot pod had a shot they're quite happy to do that there is a stoppage and player there is a Burnley player down I think he's back up to his feet now all a consolation goal um then you know you can take from that game and you Scott Parker would just want to use this as almost a training match really having gone two goals down you just you're playing a far superior position um so he learn something and it's bentle under pressure from Foster nearly gave the away a ball inside his own sixy Bo box but manages to kind of clear his lines ball into the feet of Lamina who then goes back towards podent who's now coming forward chip ball over to jinho now he's got a little bit of space doesn't know the ball just runs out but again you look over there Conor Robert substitute he's on a yellow card yes but should he be giving Chino that much space I don't think so you've got to close down your man Chino yes he's quick so you either choose to give him a couple of yards of pace in front of you or you get too tight you get touch tight with him but Conor Robinson's kind of done done neither really and he's allowed Chino to get a touch uh a couple of times and then also allowed him to have that space in behind him so it's you know you've got to have a balance as a fullback you've got to you know either choose either or and can't really let you wi and get the best of you multiple times as he has done no and you spoke about how he's on a yellow card but it's how you adapt to it isn't it now you adapt that you're on a yellow can't change how it is if you're going to get tight don't get too tight get a bit close to him and also sometimes it's about unfortunately playing the referee if you you know have a collision with him go down saying it was you that was that was taken out instead it's all about how you adapt to that yellow card which I don't think he's done I think chus has had a fantastic game whoever's been up against but it's also the defender job to make it difficult he hasn't had a difficult night has the Wolves Winger to make his Mark have ra off po B and wol has a chance now yeah it's a really poor ball from ly Foster I think it was and now wolves are coming forward ball from Bellard into opponent tries to get it back but it's cut out crucially by mcnali it was actually a ball from [ __ ] I think it was that was looking to find no one really I couldn't even tell you he who he was aiming for there with that uh Cross Field ball it's the it's the one you told you know even in Grassroots Football under sevens never ever play a ball without looking across the field of play because it always puts your team in danger and wolves comen forward again here hang Chand do running well to get around MCN but then MCN in fenis does recover well with a sliding Challenge and hang was offside anyway so berley restart with the offside free kick Play it Forward into uh hdri who's been fairly absent this game actually I've been quite disappointed with him he started the first 10 minutes quite well and then since then has been uh an absent figure uh in this Burnley side and you know we talked about you know use these games as kind of a showcase for yourself as to why you should be played but he hasn't really put a good performance off for himself but Bernie coming forward here it's a ball into the box it needs to be dealt with here and it is dealt with really really well by Wolves yeah just saw calm and collected there from the youngster Pedro leem he just picked up the ball and turned his man in his own area quite clearly all the Wolves players are full of confidence right now the 18y old Brazilian showing out so far signed this summer from Brazilian league and he's showing how he should come into it and again I think what this can do is all these players is it going to be the same 11 when they visit the city ground on on Saturday well well no there's not on fortunately but what it can do is that Gary O'Neal now knows that well if for example someone isn't playing up to their ability maybe the right back isn't he knows Lima can come on and do a job he knows a Sarabia can come on their fit and raring go po Dan that that's the thing we got to do it's all about competition sometimes that if you're playing and you know there's no one breathing down your neck you're going to play weak in week out if you drop a 10 out of 10 good if you drop out a one out of 10 it don't matter I'm going to play next week anyway what wolves could do after the poor start is competition for places and a performance like this tonight Can Do no harm he's won the ball out the pitches Leman and wolves are coming forward they were was good chance there for opponents to get him behind but Burley do really players to Showcase what they can do against you know competitive OPP opposition um Burnley a former primly side and wolves com forward again though with Chino has a shot it's deflected off a burnly man I couldn't even see who that was but it's about to Lio dinks in a good ball towards the middle of the box and it's just past everyone fluted past podent but he placing another good ball towards Lemar it's almost ping pong back into the middle of the box I mean it's pinball in the Box opponent has the ball good turn can he get a shot away yes he can it's a lovely dig oh my God that was nearly a great goal but uh it's a great save at the back post by the Burnley keeper plad key and I mean that was an a should sent from oppent looking for confidence isn't he the the Midfield man and we spoke about how he went alone to olympos last year quite clearly coming back with a vengeance and he's had a few good opportunities tonight he's has he's pressed High he's pressed well when he's got the ball he's made some fantastic decisions in that attacking final third like you say what a cheeky Little D that would have be but he faked it on his right back onto his left and when you do watch it the goalkeeper was quite off his line he wasn't sat deep on his line hoping for a shot he was trying to come out maybe to because of the crosses are coming to claim them didn't really set himself back as you wouldn't B has quite clearly seen that tries to dink him good save away from the goalkeeper but wolves as you spoke about they haven't really since that gu's goal had that one onone chance you haven't created something incredible but they're still coming forward they want to try and get that third goal maybe just to finish off Burnley we are about five minutes away from the 90th minute Forest of leveled it at home to Newcastle car is fre Southampton for what a game without there in Wales and Wimbledon shock so far they're beating Premier League outfit AP swi we do have a Burnley got tough fixtures they've added tough results but if they can carry on you know playing with with confidence they have the the ability in this squad to get results against even the top teams again I've mention it again one one away at Spurs with two Pablo cabia goals and they've had similar results in recent years and you just think if they can maintain that belief in the squad and especially belief in the manager because Gary O'Neal has done a transformative job since joining the club last year I mean he had him playing some wonderful football and getting some cracking results towards the end of the season um I mean in terms of the form table they must have been pretty high up there and they're pressing Burnley very deep again Bellard on [ __ ] giv back to pz but he's giving the ball away and Bellard wins it well now into the feet of lemur he then goes along to Doyle Doyle then plays it back out to pz Bellard Bellard thinks about playing across him but decides against it then does move on you're out with the cup but you can take that as right we've got one less game to play midweek wolves still coming forward doing fantastically well can he play it to the right hand side he can attack his own for the hosts yeah it's uh running down the side side Li the 18-year-old has a crack at goal his shot could have found the feet of hangi Chan but a combination of Bernie Defenders warl being one of them is able to get it away L Foster tries to turn and is brought down fairly easily by Bueno for a throwing but yeah we've spoken about you know confidence as being a massive Factor not just in this game but for players and uh teams we spoke at halim didn't we about you know confidence players mentioning names like Patrick Bamford and Marcus rashford to uh similar ability athletes and uh you know again hangi Chan had a excellent kind of I think they call it the Purple Patch uh where where a player goes through a really good run of form which you know m on another one that Springs to mind when you're thinking about that and you know it shows that you know wangi Chan just to single him out has the quality but if he's not on confidence can't deliver but you know players like that can really be the Difference Maker for wolves and you think if he can get back to his best that he showed last season they don't really need to worry about goal scorers at all do they no and you're 100% right how you spoke about R himz earlier they just haven't replaced him really his goal output since he left the club he had that unfortunate head injury as you said and just haven't been able to replicated that PA ball for Burley coming forward again it's been that's been the story of the night so far for them but you look at you see CH had that fantastic piece of form didn't he last season and it's one of them you're going to go on and do what Jimmy V did score in 10 in a row but then continue to be a proven Premier League player or are you going to have that Purple Patch scoring goals and then you're going to D drift off and you had a little bit of time or can you prove yourself as a forward in the Premier League leading the line I think Wang as you see he's got that in him it's just about I think sometimes when the teams playing Paul really has an effect on you in terms of how your output and your performance is going to be so maybe tonight can take that into the weekend and maybe Forest if they don't win that's a good game for them to play as well I know it's a another trip away but Wy Chan maybe against that that Forest defense they' like to play out from the back and they don't really have those center backs maybe to do it he's such a pressing monster that maybe he can be an outlet for that but you like think it starts Saturday and maybe you can get a goal get his season kick started on satday yeah absolutely I mean I think Gary O'Neil will need someone to kick start the season for wolves you know they've got really difficult fixtures and you know I don't think anyone's uh worrying about relegation but it is what happens sometimes in the in the Premier League you have a tough run of fixtures you lose a few games you end up down there I mean I I've said everyone plays other twice but you know then the mentality Creeps in if you lose a few games even if it's against top opposition um then you do start to think you know you question your own ability and you start to think oh maybe we are you know a a relegation worthy side and then when it comes round to the easier fixtures um you then end up not performing because you you're so low on confidence that you know you can't get those results that otherwise you would have got earlier in the season but when coming forward here drills a low ball towards Bellard but it's cut out well by Joe warl he then tries to fling a ball forward towards L Foster but Hugo buner does really really well to Shield the ball from Foster play it back into Lura and then back to Bueno and then back to Doyle doy has been really really good tonight I think he's been one of the stand up performers I'll hold my hands up before this game hadn't really heard of who he was saw they something from Man City for 10 million thought what a waste of money but tonight he's been he's been really really good oh I think he's been one of the better players on the pitch I think he wolves had a lot of good players on the ball now toos he's had a fantastic night he's running forward he wants to get himself on a score she get a goal involvement good tackle there puts it out as you say sometimes players come from that City Academy and they have that all the player for City I know for example Cole Palmer he was known before he went to chel but you see him and you go is he worth 45 million and obviously proves absolutely everyone wrong 45 million looks like pittance now for for Chelsea could be the same for doet looking at his transfer it's an undisclosed fee it's one of them where in two years time he could be back at Man City you never know he could be a bigger Club it's all about sometimes those players instead of playing in the under 21s for two or three years going out there just chanting your it's been bad I think so far if Doyle can replicate the form he's shown tonight at a more permanent and a steady Pace he'll be a fantastic Sig for wolves and in no doubt in Sam I think be one of the first names on the same sheet absolutely I mean he's already shown tonight to bosar O'Neil why he should be making a case to be one of the first on the team Sheet as we enter the closing moments of this match wolves 2-0 to the good and uh goalkeeper haki coming out of his goal to just sweep up there after a long ball forward is C out well and uh now Burnley just on the ball he hard to tell a little bit where the the referee's blow for full time there because I think both sets of players is just kind of waiting for the whistle to blow and to go and have a nice bubble bath because it's been been a bit of a runaround for both teams Burnley having conceded the two goals fairly quickly actually um either side of the uh the halves but overall haven't put a bad showcase on they haven't really attacked the Wolves goal but then again they haven't really been uh inviting them in to have constant attacks we mentioned I think they've had one shot is it on the match stats which you know makes for a bit of grim reading as a supporter but if you watch the game on balance they haven't really been I wouldn't say dominated I say the majority of chances have gone wolves's way I think almost all the chances have gone wolves's way really but it hasn't you know been a Floodgate a Floodgate opening of the uh Burnley back line and they have they've done fairly well to deal with um you know top top Premier League talent in you know Chino and Gonzalo gues and uh Pablo Sarabia so you know definitely as we say poins to take um but also a bit of confidence toh take as well from this performance and as the um players just kind of roll the ball around I think they're both fairly content with how they've gone as I say that Daniel P triy to play a ball forward looking for hang but it's picked up by Burnley goalkeeper and the fulltime whistle does blow it's finished wolves 2 Burnley nil good performance from Gary O'Neil's side which will instill a little bit of confidence into them going into
