briefed Yesterday by acting secret service director Ronald row in a closed door hearing on the assassination attempt of former president Trump ahead of a public report from lawmakers well looking forward to working with Congress to make sure that we uh never have a tragedy like July 13th again secret service director today was very thorough he provided us with a great deal of information about the day of the shooting Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal says Americans will be shocked when lawmakers release their interim report on the assassination attempt I think the American people are going to be shocked astonished and appalled by what we will report to them about the failures by the Secret Service in this assassination attempt on the former president meanwhile Senator Josh Holly receiving new information from whistleblowers saying that an agent in charge of Trump's Butler rally failed training exams it was under staff they did not have people who had experience on it and and now this Advance agent I'm told uh may have failed one or more for training exams and was known not to be a top quality agent since the assassination attempt on former president Trump director Kimberly cheel resigned assistant director Michael platty announced his retirement and five agents have been put on administrative leave Senator Blumenthal saying lawmakers will have that report very soon Brian all right uh thanks Brooke meanwhile Russia and China holding the largest military drills this week and the largest in 30 years the war games included 990,000 troops 400 warships 120 planes and helicopters this comes as the US UK France and Germany sanction Iran for supplying missiles to Russia but they're doing it anyway retired fourstar General Fox News senior strategic analyst General Jack Kean General first off your reaction to the war games what what's your takeaway well that that's a drama ically large war game to say the least given the amount of ships involved Arctic and Pacific Oceans Mediterranean Baltic Sea and the caspan Sea all involved in that exercise listen so our audience understands the most significant geopolitical change in the world in the last three or four years is the cooperation of China Russia Iran and North Korea the degree that they cooperate and collaborate together and coordinate together and you can see this Happening Here it creates a dangerous situation globally why is that because if China started a war in the Indo Pacific region over the South China Sea or Taiwan it's likely that Russia would do much the same because they know the United States could not handle two and we would find ourselves in in a global conflict that is the danger that is out there I was on a congressional commission for 20 months and that was the major conclusion that we made in terms of the the seriousness and the D that's facing the United States and our allies going forward yeah even though Russia would certainly be the junior partner by a lot a joint statement now let's talk about Iran we know they're supplying ballistic missiles to directly to Russia to continue that War uh and this is our joint statement back to them as we decide to sanction them this is a further escalation of Iran's Military Support to Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine we will be taking immediate steps to cancel bilateral Air Service agreements with Iran does that matter not much I mean this is mostly symbolism I think what's really happening that's a good thing as a result of the this is about 200 missiles ballistic missile short range 75 miles it's not thousands of missiles it's couple of hundred and likely more to follow in of itself it's not military decisive but the good news here is the Brits have already made a decision they haven't publicly announced it that they are going to remove the restrictions on Ukraine using their Storm Shadow cruise missiles and it looks like the United States is moving in the same direction to remove the restrictions imposed on the atacam that will make a big difference for the ukrainians being able to fire at military bases Russian military bases inside of Russia which is most people would think is self-evident and is something that should take place but those restrictions have really harm the ukrainians so already Russia has expelled the UK Diplomat UK the headline is UK diplomats it's Putin warns ukra of Ukraine's decision on the western weapons used by Ukraine and they say that if we release the restrictions they can he considers us at war with NATO what do you think of Vladimir Putin's rhetoric well I think as as R has been pretty consistent for two years he's been threatening escalation but has never happened uh when we provided more one more advanced weapon after another and this time when we move restrictions nothing has happened consequentially a as a result of it Putin's got his hands full here you know he's got the uh Ukrainian military inside his territory and he's making some progress with his major uh counter offensive but it's not making the kind of exploitation progress he wanted to take significant amount amount of territory back so there are real issues for him on his side uh as well and now for the first time ever he's waving the flag that he may be willing to talk we'll see if that becomes a reality or not and this would be a big consequence of the will Kane good morning to all of you good morning good morning good morning so Rachel I'll start with you because you're you lived in Wisconsin for a long time your husband was a Congressman there what's important to the rural voters well I actually lived in Wasau Wisconsin and know a lot of people there look they're they're releasing uh they're embarking on their rural strategy this is their big deal and Politico just admitted they don't even have a rural policy uh platform they haven't released that so their whole strategy is just send out deploy Tim Waltz and I know a lot of Midwest men from wauw Wisconsin and none of them would put tampons um in little boys bathrooms and they probably have some pretty strong words for anyone who did and they all have guns but they don't just use those guns for you know hunting they use it to protect their families ultimately and when Tim Waltz um in the state just next door was in charge of protecting Minneapolis he failed to do that he doesn't have a pnal bone in his body so I think this whole white men for Camala and tampon Tim thing is not going to work in Wasa Wisconsin y you just moved down to Tennessee you're in a rural area yesterday we interviewed these farmers in North Carolina and they said feed and hay and machines among other things are up there's the prices have skyrocketed so they're not making as much money but kamla Harris says that Trump's policies will leave Rural America behind what's your reaction well that's just a madeup state made up madeup political statement there's a reason Rural America has gone toward Trump over these past uh multiple elections it's because he reflects their values you see it's not just go Pander to Farmers uh with an a subsidy anymore it is what do you stand for have you allowed an invasion of our Southern border all the things that that that Rachel laid out so it the we always talk about the gender gap men and women well that that may be real but the urban rural Gap is huge it's the biggest one in America because it's all about core values God family guns the things uh a lot of rural voters carry about by the way Tim wals represented Minnesota's first district a rural area for years he was a so-called moderate then when he ran for governor he switched his position on guns switched his position on Obamacare switched his position on Somali refugees so he could cater to the urban liberal base and guess what his district has gone for Republicans substantially so he's not even a good spokesman knows that's how he wins in in Minnesota I mean that was the only state that didn't go for Ronald Reagan um so will let me ask you about this the the polls CBS polls show Harris is up 51 points to Donald Trump 49 in Wisconsin there is a fourpoint margin of error and then for the presidential preference in Pennsylvania they're tied both at 47% why is that I would think rural voters you know I think rural I think South Carolina Rural and you find more conservatives in those areas yeah yeah well but I think those are Statewide polls right Andy that's not just among rural voters I believe correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's that's Statewide so my my suspicion is it would index more favorably for Donald Trump both in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin among rural voters but I'm with you on one thing when it comes to South Carolina anley and Texas and I'll leave it up to Rachel although she's told us today but the Tim Waltz jazz hands and high kicking tour rolling into Grayson County Texas wouldn't really be the kind of Off Broadway production that everybody's ready for down in Sherman Texas maybe not in was saww Wisconsin either but I wouldn't know I'd make that my special Envoy for Rural America and if he's going to take this production all across the country I have a few suggestions for his uh tour stops he could stop in Springfield Ohio and talk to them about the impact of his potential immigration policies he could stop in Aurora Colorado or even if he wants to stay exclusively in Wisconsin Prairie duen you proud of me Rachel I got it right Prairie duen Wisconsin he can stop there where Tren de aragua has made has started break this down for us is this going to impact Us in any way it might um I actually think that this is a really big problem for boen labor clearly has a lot of Leverage and Sunday when we thought we had an agreement it was a 25% rage over four years um a commitment to make the next plane in Seattle and really the new CEO of Boeing Kelly orberg said that this was you know a good win uh for the company really wanted these negotiations behind them because as you know they have a lot of other problems to be worrying about so the fact that this is a little bit of a step back I think is a little concerning um we need Boeing to be focused on their job making good planes making sure doors stay on the plane um continuing to bring in Money Getting delivery of boeings to the airlines that have ordered them if this takes away from that not only financially but just sort of in the mindset of employees at the company who really want a new Fresh Start I I do worry that this couldn't impact us eventually down the road just another issue with bowling okay so the former president's announced no taxes on Medicaid Social Security I'm sorry he also talked about the no no taxes on tips now the new plan is coming out where he's saying no taxes on overtime is this a good plan you know I eventually originally when I heard the no tax on tips I was worried about the way that it could pit some bluecollar workers against other blueco collar workers if I'm a blueco collar worker but I don't rely on a lot of tipping my colleague isn't taxed but I am you know I think we've gotten more information about it I think people have come around to it you know good less taxes is always good for everyone right we already pay the government way too much money and wasteful spending that they use it on um so I think that this is right another good plan for him to really appeal to that blue collar worker so many of our colleagues as we know we all work on overtime so if that means that that additional income isn't tax look it's more money in your pocket at a time when inflation is still very much a problem um it's less money for the government to waste on programs that don't help us so um I guess you know economically I could debate the economics of you of it but um overall I I do think maybe it's helpful for the worker so I'm curious because you know you you typically don't get involved in politics you you let us know how the money and what politics is doing is going to impact us but do you think just covering all these stories about how the American worker is in such a deep deep hole when it comes to debt do you think this is going to create some enthusiasm for them to come out uh in the polls for the former president I really do and I think that this was a strategy for that right when you see that every month I'm behind $1,000 than I was four years ago inflation is up four years ago up 20% my groceries feel that way um then every much more money in my pocket is worth it right and so I think he's really appealing to that sense of I feel left behind yeah and there's a lot of Americans that feel that way Taylor Rick if you want more is and she's always watching former president Trump won by more than six percentage points in 2020 it's also about 20 miles from Scranton where President Biden was born Trump has a rally in Nevada in Las Vegas then this evening following fundraising and an afternoon press conference in California that is not a swing state yesterday in Arizona Trump offered voters another tax exemption we will end all taxes on overtime you know what that means think of that that gives people more of an incentive to work people who work overtime are among the hardest working citizens in our country and for too long no one in Washington has been looking out for them the Harris campaign calls the pitch desperate and claims Trump is saying whatever it takes to try to trick people into voting for him the vice president was also pitching voters on the economy at her rally in North Carolina some of the top economists in our country and in the world have reviewed these plans Goldman Sachs for example has said that my plan would grow our economy and his plan would shrink the economy that his plan would reignite inflation and send us into a recession by the middle of next year though Goldman's CEO David Solomon says a bigger deal has been made of that report than it should be he said in an interview that the report shows the difference between the two sets of policy is about 2/10 of 1% in GDP growth he also notes that these economic plans have to go through Congress so predicting their effect is pretty difficult because good luck trying to figure out what comes out the other end of Congress back to you guys and Rich it's next year that uh the Trump era tax cuts are going to Sunset unless the Congress the next Congress actually says you know what this was a good idea let's do it again exactly this is like the sequel banks and churches at the end of each month for food I pray that Trump wins gosh um has a similar story my my husband a former police officer now works in a union shop to provide a better income my father has a small business for 51 years and after our business being a well-known local Staple in the community we almost closed our doors due to the last four years under Biden and Harris and and it's just a STK contrast because I remember going out there interviewing business owners especially restaurants that were a part of a franchise and they got a second location and they thought that the Trump tax cuts as well well as you know getting rid of those regulations was going to continue it didn't and they end up closing those same franchises so St contrast you know and and inflation hits everybody but the big question is how will it impact new voters you know people who might still live at home or you know a lot of their uh finances are dictated by their parents and the reason I bring that up is because earlier this week Taylor Swift endorsed KLA Harris 750,000 people apparently have gone to vote.gov they had been doing just 30,000 a day now they are up to they're knocking on the door of a million people registered so you wonder how big an impact ultimately will Taylor Swift actually have you know I'm not suggesting all those people are going to vote for her but if 10% did that's a big number right but she got a younger vote anyway uh I mean the younger vote tends to go to uh KLA Harris anyway and she has most of her view most of her fans outside um Dave pnoy are younger uh he's a Swifty uh well and you know uh we talked about this last week he did that but didn't he say he's voting for Trump right he says I'm going to vote for Trump he goes you should not vote for who I vote for I'm just telling you who I'm voting for he goes celebrity should I tell and and last week we were talking about how Donald Trump has for the most part uh coralled the Bro vote which are men uh n you know 18 to 29 uh the problem is the young people are hard to PLL because they don't answer the phone and so it's hard to figure out exactly they always in the gy the the young people are hard to PLL and Trump voters are hard to PLL as well because they watch media on mainstream every day literally demonize them every single day and so when someone calls them they don't want to pick up the phone to say who they're going to vote for they don't want the push back so that's why he underperforms every sing question is will the younger people actually go the polls that's true will they go and vote that's that's the great unknown but stay tuned meanwhile 807 here in New York City a Fox News Alert overnight thousands of Boeing Employees walked off the job at midnight after 96% of union workers voted to go on strike Fox Business reporter Lauren Simonetti has the story for us hey Lauren Hey guys overnight 33,000 of those Boeing Union employees agreed to go on strike after the manufacturing Giant and the Union had been in contract negotiations for the past week our members rejected the contract by 94.6% and they voted a strike by 96% this comes after the workers rejected the company's new contract offer because it didn't include the 40% pay hike that they were asking for among other Provisions this is the first strike since the financial crisis in 2008 and it could throw a major wrench in Boeing's already fragile supply chain the strike will likely lead to production delays at a time when boing is trying to increase production it has 5500 planes on order if there's a strike they can't make them three4 of those planes are the most popular Max Boeing is responding right now they say the message was clear that the tentative agreement we reached with I am leadership was not acceptable to the members we remain committed to resetting our Rel ship with our employees and the union and we are ready to get back to the table to reach a new agreement um where do we go from here how long does this last all key questions the last strike 16 years ago lasted about 50 days and it cost the company billions of dollars this one could cost them it's estimated $3 billion but I want to point out they're already 60 billion in debt because of the quality control issues the door blowout all the other problems what about their stock down 60% this year one of the worst performers on the Dow Jones Industrial Average and that's the thing this is a dow component this is an American icon this is a manufacturing giant they employ 150,000 workers but isn't it a good bet to think they're going to get their a straight na because there is nobody waiting in the wings to build planes I know artificial intelligen is right and I think that is part of the story here that workers are saying this is our last stand to get as much as we can from this company so Lauren there you know they've got they've got contracts to build hundreds if not thousands of airplanes yeah uh nobody to do it and we were talking earlier if the union people have stepped off the job uh are there skilled laborers in the area to take over well I don't want somebody who just was working at you be no no yeah I'm just saying there could be skilled labor in aviation up in Washington state I I don't know is that something they might do I think they're looking at all options right but I think for their new CEO Kelly wber who came in to write the ship because quite frankly guys nobody else wanted to do it because that's how big of a problem Boeing's issues have been this year he might cave and give into these workers because how are you going to find new workers just a lot of money asking for a 40% raise is is well look they saw their pensions go away um they they saw the annual bonus go away they're facing most Portland workers and Seattle workers are affected those are pretty expensive cities to live in um their average wages are around $75,000 an increase would bring that above a hundred but $100,000 doesn't go that far anymore and these are just some of the issues that they're annoyed about Lauren thank you very much for joining us this morning thanks Lauren makes me want
