Pats Coach Makes Big Quarterback Comments, Reveals Who Has Played The Best

all right everyone so there's a big update with the QB situation in New England so he uh coach dad Mayo talked to Mike Ree of espn.com and he said this jacobe may come in here today and say his shoulder is no good so I'm not going to get too far down the road and if jacobe could play or couldn't play what I will say is this is a true competition and I would say at this current Point Drake has outplayed jacobe now in saying that we have to take in the full body of work going all the way back to the spring and beginning of training camp and we'll see where we end up but those are the conversations that will happen here over the next couple of days so that's pretty straightforward that he says Drake has outplayed jacobe so far now Ben Fen of the Boston Globe he pointed out something interesting he said draw Mayo around 11:45 p.m. last night Drake May is our second best quarterback Mayo around 9:00 a.m. today and Wei Drake has outplayed jacobe can he make up his mind so what he's pointing out is that there's kind of mixed signals here and we've talked about you got to be careful when you're talking about starting a rookie um in the in the you know his first year and the reason for that is because if you're going to start him you have to be willing to stick with him you know we've seen what uh coaches have done to these young quarterbacks I mean you could look at Zack Wilson you could look at others when basically they get pulled from the starting lineup after being starters the whole media comes down on them everything kind of falls apart and then they're done right you really maybe they can try something elsewhere that helps them out but overall they're just done they can't do it and that's something people have to keep in mind is if they're going to go with Drake May Drake May is the starter from here until they're officially done with Drake May if that ended up being the case it can't be we're going to start Drake May if he struggles we're going to put jacobe in because we want to win a few extra games it cannot be that it cannot be that it looks like Drake May is gonna be the starter and if he is he has to be the starter or things can get pretty bad in New England because they just used such a high pick on him so thank you all for watching we will see you next time
