[Music] well what are we up against actually decently matched uh teams here not terrible welcome to Orlando Florida FBC Mortgage stadium for what ought to be an exciting matchup in the avocados from Mexico cure bowl bowl games are not only a reward for how you played in the regular season but can be a spring board into next year as well as we'll see a squad from the back the central Michigan chippa was taking on a team from the Sun Belt the Southern Mississippi golden eagles well we start this game with the football we like that Dodge from the four call a fair catch worried for a second that that wasn't going to get off so we'll see what this band of three stars is capable of of a quter Randall is the big key for us from the last bowl game we played and Randall to the outside we see that speed showing off how about a gain of 10 for John Randall on the first offensive play of the game for Central Michigan now we have not played a game with Jefferson who tough throw we have not played game with Jefferson in either of our previous building CMU attempts so we don't really know what to expect randle's going to get tackled in the back field make it third down and 12 defensive tackle got free this Southern Miss defense is woken up going to get a man out of the back field can we get some blocks having a first down for John Randall down to the 48 line massive massive play and now we have Caleb who almost transferred a season ago in the back field and he loses two yards that defensive tackle on our left side is just ring Havoc over there well second and 12 man open on the slant over the middle that's Wimberly Right On Target down at the ydd line but he's got 15 y good throw from Tyler Jefferson Wimberly wide open Blitz is coming we're going to send that out to the inches well we got a fullback on the team for a reason and in situations like this Nathan square a year one recruit on the ground and he's going to power it forward for the CMU first down this coming this one very very nice first down Central Michigan oh oh no oh my goodness John Randall caught it touchdown Central Michigan that was not a very good throw but Randall makes the play and finishes off Southern Miss for this what are you looking and we're just going to try and find something that works running on the first play of the game tripped up a little bit breaking two tackles and juking another we do this every single start to a bowl game it seems and Southern Miss with a hurry up offense look here on the first drive of the game already in central Michigan territory this is how these bowl games tur into absolute [ __ ] show with hurry up offense we got to run with the quarterback and he somehow finds a lane big hits he got cut down by the ankles and then somehow got popped up high and was still able to hang on to that football here's a run and we're finally going to stop him how we tackle him through his offensive lineman I will never know I feel like when it comes to college football we should probably figure out what offense our uh opponent is running before we enter the game CU oh that was the first pass of the game and it was nearly intercepted so make it third down and nine find a high percentage play here and see if he can't settle this down defens it's a run oh my goodness what a call on third down and nine not prepared for that at all we were in a cover three and now a first down first and goal for Southern Miss and a run going backwards loss of three the senior running back for Southern Miss in Gray second and goal from the 11 tight end motions were a little bit out of whack here but that's also going to be a negative run J Q gray back to the 13 now no way they call halfback draw all the way back here on the 13 right yards to go Wentz got free but can't hang on third down we call it a screen on our previous third down and it worked out we're going to try it here again Randall got out there but the pressure gets to Jefferson a little bit too football 25 we'll take that running back to the right in the formation for Southern Miss and a quick pass is picked off and it's R for the CMU touchdown Bryce row little curl route over there in the flat Bryce row read it well and a defensive TouchDown for CMU he these guys can play off getting bullied by the run on our last Drive surprised to see them coming out firing with the pass but works out for the chips the way back the P will be up and good oh hey the backup quarterback is butts didn't even realize he was second on the depth chart can't wait to get back out will we see a butts to butt Connection in this [Applause] game return KN down Touchback for Southern Miss they get the ball back one play later will they keep the ball on the ground this time which is where they had success it's a screen and fired into the turf didn't have enough time to develop well we'll see if we can get him some similar pressure here on second down and it's a handoff but that's a negative run Rashard for Randall trying to power his way got a nice shove from his offensive lineman first down Central Michigan right around Midfield Randall again this time to the outside going to cut it back that's another first down inside the 40 to the 39 right away after picking up the first down they go right back to their impressive offense thus far for us got a man wide open out here that's Townsen close to a first down they'll give it to him to the 29 now Randall back in the game probably going to make this the final play of this first quarter Randall with a gain of eight and a very strong first quarter for Central Michigan and offense and defensive score 14 to3 with the Chipawa driving that is how we will start quarter number two here in the Cure Bowl second it down in two starts quarter number two and here's John Randall didn't really have much of a hole but enough for the first down only needed two yards just first down inside the Red Zone for CMU Jefferson trying to take off and he is going to take off how about a gain of nine wanted to throw the football I one of my early reads were open and we got the speed with Jefferson to let that happen this time we're going to take a sack we tried to take off again letting a third and one tur into a third and six Is Not Great third oh oh we are very lucky that's not picked off I think our tight ends ran into each other CMU is going to have to settle for a field goal that kick is up and good the amount of field goal attempts that we've actually converted on is quite low so anytime one goes in feeling very good as spoon puts it get to the 20 well Southern Miss is really struggled with the pressure so far in this game so we're going to see if we can send some especially and maybe not with an empty Back Field very late audible he's doing some Dage on this defense they can really be aggressive after that been heavy on the run here on this drive somebody got free only a gain of a yard that time that was not gray in the back CMU gets the ball back with one timeout in a minute to go probably taking a touch back here absolutely Dodge with a wave of a hand 17-6 we haven't taken many deep shots downfield all game with Tyler Jefferson Jefferson roaming around uh deep ball for Randall oh they got a hand on it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for was just too good to pass up here is second down here's Randall completion over the middle and a first [Applause] down oh God all these plays suck first down Central Michigan whoa Jefferson bounced off ah hit uh we're not going to take the time out we don't really have [Applause] to deep ball oh my goodness new Kirk oh he's got it to the 25 and now CMU will take that time out have a couple of shots at the The End Zone what a ball from Tyler Jefferson I'm going to call this s Wimberly on a streak and here we go over the middle that's going to be caught oh wait we didn't call a we didn't call a spike which is what I was going for first down CMU looking toward the sideline Bookers got it he also got a first and goal to the four well don't take a sack that's pretty much the goal caught touchdown CMU it is John Randle Jr just before halftime about to go up 20 4- six and what a drive especially that one one big play for CMU there I mean I threw this ball a little bit early Randall is all covered up by the linebacker but it works out guys's got 64 receiving yards kick is up kick is good 8 seconds to go seven plays in 53 seconds of 82 Y and they the drive with a four ydd pass a sky kick force a return even though Southern Miss does have all of their [Applause] timeouts he only gets to 25 5 Seconds they're going to go for a knee that'll be halftime take a chance here they'll just come out and take a knee and wrap up the half ready that's the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin and our halftime update Reese several notable story lines there and a first half of a cure bowl that absolutely had its moments and we've got to start our halftime breakdown with this Superstar running back his a iess his raw power this young man is the total package and his ability to catch the ball out of the back field is a differentiator a lot of guys can hit the hole this kid can hit the hole and hit the home run in the passing game CMU kicking off to start the second half up 24-6 feeling really good about our performance so far they're bringing it out and even after a Miss tackle still only the so we'll see if Southern Miss turns it on here in this second half feel like once again our plan is just to continue to send pressure at him I mean we've kept him out of the end zone so guess you could say it worked and a tackle for loss on Gray moments like that have been few and far between second and 12 from the 14 and they're running the ball again that's also nope it is a very short gain and hurry up on Third and 11 is certainly a choice when Scot free that is incomplete quarterback really threaded the needle there there were three Defenders all around the intended target but instead Southern Miss going to punt from their goal not a great punt be a fair catch right away right at the 48 yd line happens right where we need it second and eight from the 28 out wide to Randall oh he CH he juked with me so it'll be third down at eight nice job by the defense that's what you're supposed to do as soon as they catch theball you long field goal attempts are not our strong suit Jefferson runs into his center it's going to be a long field goal attempt which we really haven't tried in a while kick though it's moving so fast that lead just keeps getting so make it a 21-point lead as spoon kicks away this will be returned return and not much only to the 15 the CMU defense continue to suffocate our bread and butter drag routes of course third and seven oh pressure in the back field immediately and this is going to be a test of a field goal I mean my God up ah it's going to be short I didn't hold it long enough otherwise we probably got that spoon misses it a little bit short but that's all on me it just moves so fast all of a sudden Southern Miss they're in this game got the long touchdown on their last play of a yard on first down man coverage seems to be our our lowest on average yards against so continue to call that and there's another nice tackle two yards on the last two plays third down and eight how aggressive do we want to be already oh it's a screen it's a screen and incomplete Miss punt even though we were a little bit confused how bad this Golden Eagle offense is touched the punter some reason didn't get touched Dodge with an additional couple yards uh heading back to the ground doesn't look very high percentage out throwing it is Jefferson and Wimberly this game The [Music] Blitz and cut down after a gain of three JQ gray 18 carries 89 yards but that long Rush of 31 inflating those stats neither team really running the ball that well second and seven and watch out now JQ gray over 100 yards that just broke seemingly out of nowhere space all the way up the middle Wentz is stuck behind the center dude I was going to say I swear if we get a Eagles fourth and seven looking for their F third field goal of the game it's up and good of course I don't really have gripes with the kicking system of this game but I feel like it is way more reliable for the AI to kick field goals that it is for you although maybe it's just the fact that I haven't done it a lot it is an 11-point lead and Dodge will take the fair catch but Southern Miss so far winning this third quarter here michig has it back let's see what the chip can do on offense the last time we saw looking out wide that is caught for a gain of four big hit over there second down and six sideline Johnson Fuller first down 34 pass attempts this game for Tyler Jefferson first down oh play action on a blitz we're going to fire it up and it's [Applause] intercepted oh Christ number four Central Michigan leads by 11 looking for our first Bowl win since we took over here with Conor stallions third down and seven no gain on that last play and I don't think it matter who was playing there was abely nowhere to bring Campbell up to line third and seven and they run it and they run it right into the teeth of the safety on the blitz so they'll kick the field goal to make this a one possession game to make's only sou Miss kicker looking for field goal number four in this game and he's got iters the three to salvage that [Music] drive after putting up well here we go CMU offense needs to find a little bit of momentum as here is Anan but only to the 19 need Tyler Jefferson to make something happen watch newerk over there over the middle on the slant Wimberly first down to the 36 need to get something going offensively again a score here could be absolutely massive and here is John Randall Jr couldn't get the stiff arm off in time but certainly getting something game here's Caleb his first positive run of the entire game and Caleb scores for [Applause] CMU there we go don Randall hadn't broken one like that all game Caleb was a guy that we had to convince to stay last season one cut and he was gone touchdown chipa was that gets this a little bit more comfortable toad P by spoon good thead bons to 15 quick work on that scoring Drive play and that was some way to it off with a 42 yd touchdown well much more comfortable 15-point lead A lot's going to have to go wrong with just under 12 minutes to go and a run on the first play of the drive caught out they are leaning very very hard on JQ Gray that's what's to the problem is now the coach suggestions are calling a lot of plays that uh we allow very high yardage on generally oh white going back he broke a sack oh and gay nearly picked that off Mark Allen gay on a desperation play Miss quarterback nearly probably house that thing third and eight from the 27 Anderson got free and it's a sack for Central Michigan our second of the Cure bow make it fourth and 13 and Southern Miss going to punt Dodge might have some space up the middle here to gain a couple so we will and now we keep this ball on the ground for at least two plays Randall Randall oh he nearly found a hole but it's still a gain of five you know what let's flip this play to the right we don't run inside Zone to the right very often run to the big part of the field give ourselves some options Randall had to cut right into the teeth of that defense halfback screens have not worked out very well but even if we don't pick up the first down good chance to keep the clock running Randall has it has some blocks John Randall Jr to the 40 yd line first down for Central Michigan Cale in the game and he gets clobbered in the back field for a loss of one dude has four carries all game three for negative yards and one for a long touchdown here is Randall there's a blitz coming make it third and 11 well I think once again we call the screen on third Downer I'm you up by the def Rand gets out there got some blocks going to be close at the line good explosion through all that I mean this feels this feels really stupid but the game wants me to do it a bunch of guys sitting in the Box fullback dive Nathan square and Nathan Square picks up the CMU first down to keep this drive going I listen to my EA Sports overlords and they said go for it Randall On The Run had a bunch of space once again my Center my guards are just getting roasted right now oh [Applause] game got a man over there very short completion it's third down and six see we can run this for a first down if not we kick the field goal it's not going to be not going to be a first down only a gain of a yard for John Randall who is just completely banged up field goal attempt up and good three-core game for [Music] CMU bunch of kicks in this game for spoon starting to gain a little bit of confidence when it comes to actually kicking field goals which is good we're only a couple weeks away from Michigan Dynasty and we're surely going to have to do it then they're really starting to extend that lead as they get ready to kick it away 3719 a spoon kicks what happened in Madden Lions franchise McLoud got free and McLoud with a sack for CMU sack of the game I was thinking about calling a timeout down fourth and 25 they need the 49 deep one and intercepted by Mark Allen gay and he's got some blocks as well quarterback with the tackle inside the 20 and that should secure the Cure bow for the central Michigan chipa and Conor stallions year four it's our third bowl game but we're looking at coming away with our first Bowl win and it's the senior Mark Allen gay with an interception to likely seal it Randall on the run very short gain but that's [Applause] okay all totally fine got get the next play will get us to the two-minute warning no matter what we do now Randall to the outside tried to make a move kind of tripped over his man it'll be third and one when we get to the other side of the two-minute warning 3719 CMU is real comfortable right now on the right foot guys we've seen a lot of great football there have been so many tremendous moments Rand up the middle first down to the [Music] four we head back to CH clock unfortunately we have to make that adjustment ourselves but it is what it is first and goal from the four Randall try to find the lane second and goal from the two get him at the two doesn't need to pound this in but I mean we like points we like points John Randall to the one we're going to have one more upright 4319 by Sky kick trying to kill off the rest of the time left in this game and we just about did well I don't anticipate anything stupid from Southern Miss but we're calling prevent three-man front everyone else drops back on the throw I think they're calling a normal play nope they're throwing it deep and that's intercepted by hakee to end the Cure bow Conor stallions gets his first bow
