and they traded for him earlier this year and the Lefty with the 01 the short stop takes the ball Clyde Washington with home plate duties in this one little bit of a low Zone boot from Clyde nothing crazy though pitchers that W consistently down around the knees and are able to command their off speed stuff tend to have some pretty good success with him back there behind the plate one1 now that's a strike and it's and two just threw that fast by him elevated and if you're not looking up in that location very difficult to catch up to especially with that velocity boom Zips it across two up two so how much does his speed factor into his ability to go get it it's heartbreaking for the hitter because off the bat he thinks this Ball's going to get down because of that speed and the ability to Gordon and then became an elite perennial gold Glover out in left field for the Kansas City Royals but he's a guy when you watch him play you would imagine that that's all he ever played in his life was the Outfield and the pitch yeah some guys just have instincts right I mean that's the way it goes we talk about Larry Walker the Hall of Famer and his Instinct on the bases despite the fact that he didn't play a ton of baseball as a kid 32 now gets a piece there we'll do it again remember Mark K was a real good defensive outfielder good instincts not great speed and down on strikes he goes and that's the first out good late cut for the strike out there that thing really got in on him and you know the cutter isn't really a huge swing and Miss pitch most of the time because it's not really meant to move a whole lot you're just trying to miss the big part of the barrel and maybe get some weak contact but that one right there did a whole lot more than that that was a really good lead off man aboard right there does a great job of staying the big part of the field man there are a lot of hits there Jose Cavo will hit next singled and scored his first time and that one missing low this might be a steel situation but that's not your average catcher behind the dish you have to be careful here the p and that one is lifted in the air Roos moving under this one Roos makes the catch so next to the plate for Tampa Bay yandi Diaz flyed to right his first time snap throw to first low Dives back in safely runner on the go swing in a Miss real mut throws not in time it's a stolen base s he definitely showed off the wheels there yeah it turned out to be a bang bang play stat gives us the data and that stolen base wasn't possible Sprint speed that one's upstairs ball one and a count even one and one and that drops in for a strike and another ball one out and a runner at second we're here in the top half of number three not close with that one Full Count now swing and a miss him out he's locked in at the plate when he's using the whole field he was out in front there just needs to let the ball travel a little more and his timing will be back on track good pitch for swings and misses at the pitch off the plate more and more guys are looking to slug regardless of the count and this situation will keep a close eye on his approach got him swinging pH go down quietly have to give in Elevate his pitches and get back into this atat next off bring is in for a strike and a strike in there Turner runs pitch misses in throw to Second and great jump well he's got Cannon of an arm back there behind the dish a good accurate throw was just as important in controlling the running game so maybe rushed this throw a little bit right there didn't finish it off it was high and I think that's what allowed the base runner to make it safely picks over and Turner's back in Turner the runner at second with one [Applause] away and a face hit right there into third now so times that one gets out of here and into the seats but he'll take the sack fly RBI good job to get that run in from third here's Nicholas castanos he was a strikeout victim his first time this to Third on Rosario and that is the inning a run on two hits and they leave one we played Four it's the Rays two and the Phillies W and we're back new inning getting started now here is omed Rosario Rosario in his eighth season 28 years old he's been on a terrific run at the plate hitting over 350 in his last 10 that catches the top part of the Zone it's own one he's pitching well but not throwing a ton of first pitch strikes usually doesn't work out for success but you can never predict baseball swing and a liner foul off to the right that one not close it's a ball in two strikes gets a piece and stays [Applause] alive and he hits a ground ball right side and that's just foul one two now keeps the going with a foul B here comes the pitch high in the air out to right C pulls it down one up one down ji to for the r grounded out his first ball one no strikes one ball stra and another ball that one misses and that's ball three he hasn't fallen behind in the count like this all day he's in danger of walking his first batter right here the wi of the pitch and there's Ball Four pretty easy walk right there last pitch wasn't even much to think about so up next Josh low he might want to steal second in this spot but he's dealing with a catcher that has one of the best pop times in the game he needs to pick his spot very wisely foul back ourway and that's out of play this is one of those situations defensively where you can't try to do too much you got to make sure that you feel the ball cleanly and get one out first it's going to be tough to get two with this kind of to get a roll over something on the ground stay away from that big hole on the right side of the infield there goes the runner pitches low real Mutual throws that time it's a stolen base singy the best way to catch this player might be on replay yeah sometimes it's the only way to catch her boo when you see that Sprint speed on stat cast right there it's elite and just makes it very tough on now the D Jose Cav for two well all eyes on the double play ball in this spot no better way to get out of this inning movement in the bullpen Christopher Sanchez up and loosening in the and turn warming up as well two on one out well you can't really adjust your game plan for that last pitch Sky hasn't thrown it very much you got to focus on the stuff that he's throwing up there most of the here's the catcher JT real mut pitch in for a strike one oh he's looking great so far it helps with over 80% of your first pitches or strikes he might be able to go the distance if he keeps this [Applause] up righty to the pl on the ground to Third gathers and throws to First and real m is out that difficult to put that ball in the air or get through it just BS in on the hands Al for one he Johan Roos three pitch strike out last time up got to put up more of a fight in this one and a swinging to miss well if he's going to steal second you want him to go early in the count that way he's not a distraction to the hitter at the plate go ahead and get it out of the way so the hitter can focus on the pitch pitch out but no action the Phils down by a pair last half of inning number five High Fly ball right field low makes the play and the inning is over one left for Philadelphia score holds it's 3-1 we're back and they make a change to start the the new pitcher Christopher Sanchez and one thing on him he's been really good this season at keeping the ball in the par not an easy guy to take deep now here's the Tampa B cleanup hitter isak Paredes he's already homered in this game as he turns on the rubbert here with that good live arm delivers now Fly ball to Right Center no trouble here puts it away for the out and there's one down really nice job to get your first out of the ball game Randy a roena now at the play and first off ring is fouled off one down bases empty swing in a Miss as he was out front action in the pen down there Max Castillo getting loose out there F two cuts and misses it's a strike out two out bace is empty and now the switch H and catcher Francisco Mahia he's been a great free agent sign first pitch and that's in for a strike and that's downed away one ball one strike the line and the pitch good eye right there next pitch is outside first pitch strike from the pitcher but then no Panic at all by the very patient showing good discipline now he's in the driver seat with the 3-1 count and that's a base hit and that keeps the inning alive I'm sure he feels really good about that one solid swing from start to end on time with everything really good balance nice extension and he made it out for the line drive JP crawf leot if he hopes to win the title and immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter swing and a miss and that strike two going to really need to hang in there with that front side against this left-handed breaking ball and that's outside to the right side and that chance handled over to First and that is the inning so one hit is all they get top of the order two up in the home half of the six ra three and the Phillies won back here in Philadelphia Turner at the pl effin back to work that one misses Gap but you know at the very least if you could find a way to manufacture that run from first it feels like it's really important of getting back into this ball game [Applause] righty delivers Chris with that distraction and the Speedy guy at first he's in a favorable hitter count well if nothing else I mean this is a great spot but it's off his b the throw is still in time he keeps his composure and they get the out Harper so digging in now for Philadelphia rice Harper listen there's absolutely no reason to pitch to this guy right here you nibble you see if he'll expand his Zone but don't tying run at the plate in the of the six not even close there one and two the count about the right guy at the right spot they really need a rally and this guy is someone you can believe in to find a
