have to play right gives him a chance to rest up a little bit heal some of those aches and pains and excited about playing again that really rekindles things a little bit I want to see how they come out and establish themselves here ear and that by we coming right where they want it in the middle of the schedule a good start offensively 15 yds on the game's initial Play What a start here to the Ball Game you get the good kick return followed by foot first down through the air if this defense isn't careful they might be looking at deficit before they will hit him shrugs The Tackle nice and they'll get him down as he's inside the 40 14 yds good for a panther first down no slow start here couple nice Chun plays back to back I love the momentum that they're showing here early because they did it both ways right threw the ball on first down for a nice chunk of yardage came right back and ran the ball look like they got the defense set back on their heels let's see if they can keep this moving another strong gain on the last two plays they mve to combine 33 yds so back to back big runs picking apart this defense on the opening drive I thought this was a passing Le I thought this was the era we were in where the ball was always in the air right they didn't get the memo they didn't get the memo and I know this to be true offensive lineman still to this day they want to run the football oh young loses it oh and what of the linan on the other side has got it points one two and three in their defensive game plan was to get to the quarterback and knock the ball free they did it there luckily offense hangs on on to him yeah that's got to serve as a wakeup call though because they can't afford to let the ball go over to the defense and Miss opportunities and I'm not saying it happened here but you know what A good rule of thumb is when a play like that occurs you know who usually recovers it the guy who missed his block and let his quarter back get hit a good pick up there 26 yds a lot of precision being shown on this opening drive they've been methodical they've been Crisp And as a reward they're going to be set up with an early first and goal Rob diving for the end zone and he is in touchdown like what we saw right there good running down near the goal lde because that was a really good drive they were able to possess the ball have some early success moving it down field and in clearly the most important thing finishing things off with the ball in the end zone now the extra point [Applause] and this will be good to give the Panthers a seven to nothing lead that time a six-play drive and it was chuba Hub who finished it off with a touchdown [Applause] run fighting his way through contact and a nice return sets him up pretty good here right at the 30yd line so here are the Texans now with a fresh face at quarterback the second overall pick from Ohio State CJ St so no advantage in this game for either quarterback in terms of coming off that open week huh yeah they both had bues both had them so you got to figure both of them went back watch them extra tape polished up their game checked out their fundamentals but they also have both had an extra week to prepare for each other's defenses this could be a whole lot of fun now here's a pass on first down that's knocked away and incomplete second and 10 on [Applause] St man open downfield is digs he's got it and he'll be taken down but not before they work it across Midfield 23 yds the pick up there those are the kinds of plays right there that show you why he's the number three man in the NFL in terms of receiving yards also tells you there's a full combination of what he's got going in his game you name it from Route running to catching the football that's wi able to produce those types rookie to rookie on the hookup there and it's a first down the Texans sitting in a very solid 4-2 record through the first six weeks they come in with fresh legs they got the extra time off thanks to an early season open we and usually your hope is that your open we comes a little bit later in the year but when you get a chance to get your fresh legs back you have to take that time and run with it and that's what they're trying to get done here now [Applause] St oh he'll want that one back incomplete he doesn't drop too many in that department third down they'll be in search of eight yds here as they hope to convert the first down St out on third down now and got his man it's caught touchdown Houston take down his fifth touchdown now on the year and the Texans respond to that opening drive touchdown with one of their own well with this rookie QB we talk a lot about his ball placement and how good he can be at laying it right in there I think we just saw Charles though the strength of that arm that was an absolute rifle for the completed touchdown it absolutely was and let's face it you think he was really ready to get that first touchdown absolutely he threw that pass with authority just as you described Big Time arm right there and let's face it a lot of quarterbacks used to be pitchers in baseball the fast ball was usually their best pitch and we saw it there each team's had it each team has scored 7even seven here as the kicks away escapes the defender and he will make it to the 20 yd line and no further the Panthers coming back out onto the field for their second Drive coming off every player's friend the open week from last weekend Oh there's no doubt about that even if you're coming off of a loss as they did the open week is exactly what you need after you kind of get over it a little bit right rest up the Mind rest up the body get yourself ready to go and they have to be eager to play again especially since they lost the last time out The Man in Motion left here Johnson they'll fake it on the Jet Sweep and instead a hand off up the middle and he's up ended after a gain of two out to the 27 here's third and three thir and three it's young off play action oh he had him he was open but he couldn't get it to him it's incomplete partner we've got ourselves a ball game and guys on defense they came to play slipped up on their first series but they're definitely settling in now and letting it be known that points won't come so easy [Applause] again dancing away at the 35 it's a 40-yd punt six yds on the return and the Texans will take over so now we get set to see Houston for their second Drive of the ball game they enter play here in this one on a two- game win streak plus they come off the open week as well so this is a team that has a lot of things working in their favor oh it certainly is and let's face it this team is playing so well the worry now is that after a few extra days off they'll be sluggish coming into this game so I've heard that he spent more time in practice working what they call good versus good starting offense versus starting defense they want a fast start in this next game here's strout he'll get this into the hands of Nico Collins First Catch for for him on the afternoon and it results in a first down it's a gain of first down hou St to throw it firing quickly but it's incomplete you look at this Carolina defense they're going to need to be strong against the run in this one now if they could just get their pass defense in line this unit would be really really strong and remember the conversation with the defensive coordinator taking it right down Broadway and he's going to get this one down to the edge of the Red Zone The Catch and run going to wind up nting him 33 yards well as my dad would say sometimes I'm just scratching my head here trying to figure out what was going on there defensively how did you lose him in the middle of the field if you're going to lose a receiver make sure someone on the short side of things not deep down field that can hurt your defense so a big play as it gets him all the way down to the 20 now for first and 10 inside hand off to Mixon and now they're going to get him down right at the line of scrimmage it was Justin Houston who got him down now a second and 10 and 10 at the Panthers 20 yd line as St now to throw dumps it off to Mixon and he'll be taken down at the 20 after a gain of just one as a defense you're more balanced when you're its own coverage because you're able to keep your eyes on the quarterback and see the play develop in front of you they're able to keep the Quick Pass in front of them and stop it right at the line of scrimmage and that is I think he caught it he down but go say out of bounds it'll be incomplete that was certainly an aggressive call and an aggressive play instead of just going for the first down took the shot in the end zone went for the touchdown and on third down they said forget about the sticks we want six Fabe able to put this one through and they take the lead here now at 10 to S so they are able to end that drive with three points in this one possession ball game and ideally you want to end every drive with points most quarterbacks you tell you let's end it with a kick right a pat that's number one field goal you'll take punts you really don't want to do that in this case they'll take the field goal and get prepared for the rest of the game and he's got this almost to the 40 before going out this Carolina offense at the line ready to go and they are back down to 500 following the loss last week consistency has been a real issue for them so far Brandon you almost don't know what team is going to show up every week I mean there's no consistency with this ball Club at all and if we feel that way I know it frustrates the coaching staff and it also has to frustrate the key leaders in the locker room they got to figure out how to get coordinated second quarter now from Charlotte and and it's the Panthers with the football as they've got it with a second and three fourth coming meanwhile Youngs throw caught by Sanders second catch for him today and it'll roll up a first down first yd young off the play fake oh and that is incomplete had an open man that time but end up putting a little too much heat on it don't you think partner absolutely just needed a touch more air under it instead he fired an absolute bullet on second down now it's Brooks and bulldozing his way through and he's going to get this inside the 30 45 Ys rushing for him now he's only carried the ball four times I they like this drive a little bit better there partner running game helping out picking up some of the slot cuz remember last Drive they went three and out line now Young here's Johnson with a reception and he's brought down after a very nice gain a good pickup there 21 yds I think he has to be saying to himself how did that not wind up a touchdown remember you just need the tip of the ball across the plane it's not going to get there but they're going to be set up in great shape with first and goal penny and he is not going to get through here on try number one they stop him at the goal line another shot from the one on second and goal once more Penny he'll fight for the End Zone but they will stop him again shy of the goal line third down and goal now and this Houston defense not backing down they'll look for one more stop young now and he's got it touchdown Panthers from a yard out and the Panthers have retaken the lead there was a lot of zip on that pass and baseball might have called that a frozen rope I like it when you bring the diamond into the game I'm going back to the grid iron had some heat on that bad boy sometimes you throw a touchdown pass and sometimes you throw what a touchdown strike there you go that's my man in concert extra point right down the middle and the lead is now 14- 10 a good drive that time as they go nine plays in all and Carolina scores to cap it off and he'll get it up past the 20 to about the 22 heading out is the Texans offense as they get set to take over here and after the field goal last time let see what they can get here at least they got points out of the last Drive Charles I never met an offensive coach that didn't want a drive to end with a kick most of them wanted to end with a p right in this case a field goal they'll take it way better than the alternative which is a punt but you've met fan bases that wanted that that weren't happy with that field goal haven't been a fan base yet that wants a drive to end with a kick other than the extra point that's it on second down this is Madison and this won't be enough to pick up the first a gain of two third and one heavy set out there on Third and one they give to Mixon to try to pick it up and he's able to get it to the 33 good enough for a first down I know the game's changed a lot of people would say it's evolved look I'm a little bit in the Ender thought okay I love this no exotic formations no misdirection just line up and run the DN ball pick up the first down I love it yeah third and short the panther was too strong they get there and take him down now after the play it looks like there's a Texan here slow to get up well they come out and take a look at him we will step aside for just a moment coming up now on a second and 15 following that sack back to throw here's [Applause] St he's got the hook up with Diggs and out of bounds on the other side of Midfield at the 45 27 yds there a first down but one of the ways a quarterbacks keep all the receivers alive in a play Never lock in on any one guy make sure you keep your eyes moving scan the field and here he finds the open plenty of shouts from this crowd as they watch the replay they want a challenge and they're going to get one did he keep those feet in bounds that's the question they've got to decide I got to say watching it in real time it was awfully close yeah it certainly looked like a heck of a catch because he didn't appear to Bobble it which could complicate things but even with the benefit of Replay that's pretty tight now here's the call so the challenge there does not go their way this will indeed remain a completed pass now here's stad man open that's complete to Dalton Schulz I know sometimes we can get forward when we watch him make catches as we just saw him do there because he really looks like a wide receiver the way he goes about his business yeah 230 240 range yeah not not super huge maybe not counted on to be that inline point of attack blocker that we used to have in the good old days but you can Flex him out you can run wide receiver routes with him you can make him a primary target and that's how he'll shred a defense stde off the play fake and he's going to be taken down pressure gets there back at the 39 yd line five Tyler shelvin in there to get him for a loss of three and it will be fourth down St looking to throw and it's incomplete they cannot convert and they turn it over the Texans tried it but they come up empty here on Fourth and the Panthers will get the football back so the defense has to stay out and get one more stop they were able to do it forcing the incompletion so on their record that goes down as a successful play doesn't matter how they got there how it happened they got it done they're the ones that are jubilent they'll start on the ground here on first down a good cover defensively as they get to him just beyond the 45 after the Juke 58 yds rushing for him now in the ball game from the 46 here's second and three [Applause] young to throw it and he's going to go down they sack him back at the 42 Will Anderson in there to record the second sack of his young NFL career third and eight they'll run a draw now with Hub and he'll work it across Midfield inside the 45 give him 15 there and the Panthers have a first down they still in the lead the momentum certainly been going the opposite direction so to me that's a really important pick up there on third down try and regain some confidence and you're right they need to stem the tide a little bit that certainly helped here's a run on first down that doesn't accomplish anything in fact he's going to be tackled behind the line for a loss of one of and we've hit the two-minute Mark in this first half of now a second down throw for young and on the catch right side this is Sanders he's a rookie and you don't want to get hung up on the word potential but when you see him make catches like that you keep thinking to yourself he's good now he's got a chance to be great with plenty of work this ball taken in here by Brooks and they're able to get this one past the 30 down to the 25 rookie quarterback rookie running back they team up there to pick up the first and this pass rush is been bringing the Heat and has already gotten home a few times here in the first half so how about the play call there sometimes if you can't protect you've got to fool it screen passes like that take a little steam out of what's been a Relentless rush so far young looks to throw on first down oh it's a screen pass that's complete skirts by at the 15 and he's out of bounds almost gets to the 10 another connection between the two this one good for 12 and a first down they'll throw again young got a man and he hits him in stde down to the 6yd line on a pickup of six as he gets halfway to the goal line Second and four they still get a first down without [Music] scoring young touchdown a great effort there as the first half is winding down and the Panthers would extend their lead here just before half time and that's certainly an important score right there because they gave themselves a two-score cushion heading towards halftime now you got to force the other team out of their comfort zone and it changes the way you apprach approach the second half as well how you want to do things on offense and your defense feels much better too having that lead extra point splits the uprights and that makes it a 21 to 10 game so not much time to speak of remaining of this first half as the kicks [Applause] away and a good return able to get out across the 35 to the 36 Houston's offense already at the line set to get going scr now on First and 10 and that'll be incomplete with 11 seconds remaining now with a Rie quarterback out there you're definitely got to find out how he handles adversity because this one so far hasn't gone according to plan he's got to fight through it and show him what he's made of St he'll find his running back Joe Mixon and with Just 4 seconds left in this first half a timeout [Applause] call final play of the half stad he's going to throw one up for the End Zone that's going to be knocked away and incomplete so it's halime here in Charlotte with the Panthers out on top as we'll see well we'll move right through the break then skipping halime and back to the field for the start of the second half and we welcome you back live now inside the booth alongside Charles Davis I'm Brandon Gard set and ready to rock for the third quarter and no alley to be found the coverage was solid and he's dropped at the 18 the Texans going to take over here to start quarter number three this offense Charles had a strong first half throwing the football at least in terms of yardage but that hasn't translated so far on the scoreboard as they begin the third quarter here trailing and looking for a little momentum yeah you're right about that because you know let's face it in the first half most of their focus was in the passing game to their credit resulting in help the amount of yardage so I would think that a half time they're going to anticipate that defense loosening up a little bit to try and cover the passing lanes they've got to get the running game going and there should be some gaps to run through now another throw on second down and this one incomplete as well you get the sense that they're saying we're not playing up to what we're capable of and we're deep enough into the game that the early Jitters are long gone that they should now have some sense of continuity and be able to make some of these plays that they have not been doing so far two catches in the first half now he's got a third here and it's good for a first and that's one of the better plays we've seen this offense put together so far they haven't been able to get on track much at all but listen they're only down a couple of scores with the rest of this quarter and the entire fourth remaining so stranger things have happened Mixon with a first down carry and he'll manage to pick up about four it's second down well they still T time to get him established but in my estimation they've got to pick up the urgency here they've got to get quickly in and out of the Huddle and run off a bunch more plays here's a throw to his running back it's complete give him a gain of five on the completion and third and one now so they just need one yard here to pick up the first down [Applause] on third down Mixon and they will touch him down but not before he gets the first give him two on the play there and it's good enough for a Houston first down well they're hoping that the second half is better for him than the first half they've got to find a way to get him going he's a big part of their offense first and 10 it's St he finds his Target it's Schulz and he's going to get this all the way down inside the 3 five the catch and run good for 24 yds couple of first downs right in succession and this is an offense that can really use a good drive and they're off to a fast start [Applause] here so from Panther territory now it's first and 10 down at the 33 now Stout he's got his man it's the tight end Brevin Jordan and he's got this down almost to the 20 before he's dropped on [Applause] the here's Madison running on first down and he fights forward for a modest 2yd gain second down what a luxury to have a guy like this who can not only spell your starter but can come in and keep drives going they keep it on the ground this time it's Nixon and he's only going to get a yard from the 20 to the 19 absolutely love the effort there the ability to flow from his inside spot and stop that one at the line of scrimmage nice linebacker play St on third down now and that is incomplete so two third down conversions on this drive but not able to get a third and now they deal with fourth down so on fourth down Texan kicker KY Fabe comes on it'll be from the right hatch and it'll be a 36y the kick by Fabe is good and that'll make this an eight-point game so they were facing the deficit coming out of the locker room at intermission and at least they're able to get the field goal to cut into that deficit yeah now your offense feels pretty good about itself right a little bit more up to speed coming out of the break you turn into your defense now and say hey we got three there we're chipping into the lead can you help us out hold them let get the ball back for us the Panthers offense now they head back on the field for their first possession of the second half they're rocking en rolling but the scoreboard doesn't show a big difference you maybe it's one of those games where coaches say you can't miss your turn on off under a heavy rush and down he goes christian Harris there finding his way home to record the sack I'm sure a lot of time was spent in the locker room Charles talking with his defense about setting a tone here in the third quarter when you're down on the scoreboard sack like that maybe that can get him going yeah you have to believe exactly what you just said that they got together and said let's be some change a here let's go ahead and turn things around let be the force that gets us going here in the second half and puts us in a position to find a way to win the game tough spot here third down and 11 young to throw [Applause] it and that is incomplete and that's a really good job there defensively they went into this possession knowing that they needed to get a stop they a tight ball game and they got it done great work to force the three and out got the football right back for their offense they've got to go to the sidelines feeling pretty good about themselves and encouraging their offensive mates to get some points so a change of possession here on the punt and the Texans will take over with a first and 10 [Applause] Stout he gets this in the hands of Mixon and they'll get it up just short of the 45 at the 44 the drive starting with a first down 11 yds on that pickup first out of the shotgun they run with Mixon Jaa Thompson on the tackle that time decided to hand it off that time on the Run pass option appeared to be an easy decision just gave it inside nice steady gain now an option play on second down he has enough for the first down of the keeper a gain of six well with them trailing here in the second half maybe his legs can try to give this offense a spark and that's the benefit of having a Young quarterback right having a rookie a guy who will say hold on a second I have a little bit of fearlessness to my game it isn't working as well the other way see what I can do to help my team this way and boy he did it there two yards on the carry there it'll be second down brings up second and at the 43 yd line playaction stad now and Diggs has it and they're going to have another first down as the tackle made at the Panthers 22 yd line a gain there of 21 yds well that certainly has to feel good it's not all the time that the play caller should get all the credit sometimes I think in the Huddle the quarterback just says hey who's going to make a play for me I just need something right here and the end result there nice first down drive keeps moving and they'll throw it with st here first and 10 to Mixon on the check down this drive it's been a good mix three passing plays three runs hitting on all three of those passes and the last one putting him in the red zone so wouldn't you think play action right here because you've got the ability and the ability to run it and throw it go play action and take your shot at the end zone toward the sideline and look at that catch dragging the toes and that's going to be a first down well done and now some disagreement down on that sideline the red flag is out and we're going to get a challenge did he keep those feet in bounds that's the question they've got to decide and I got to say watching it in real time it was awfully close yeah it certainly looked like a heck of a catch because he didn't appear to Bobble it which could complicate things but even with the benefit of Replay that's pretty tight now here's the call so that challenge not successful there and that's going to cost him the first of his timeouts and he'll take this one in for a Texans touchdown Joe Mixon with his sixth rushing touchdown on the year and the Texans have come back to make it a two-point game sometimes you get a first and goal you're back near the Seven 8 n yd line and you start thinking maybe we'll run it here on first down to get half of what we need so maybe we can have two or three shots at going for it from closer range so this is a bonus right here what a great run to work his way into the end zone throws right side and he's got it so they went ahead and went for two to tie the game and it works out so they elect to pass there on the two-point try sometimes could prove risky there it worked out yeah and I love how you bring up that it can prove risky because if you get it intercepted and they return it that's two points for the defense but not on that play a couple of teams locked into a good one here 21 all to score as the kicks away this taken in right around the goal line and he nearly broke that for more but as it is still a good return turn they'll start the drive right around the 37 the Panthers offense here they get ready to head back on the field and their lead has evaporated in this third quarter it's tied once more as they begin with a first and 10 they'll start this drive out on the ground and a good acceleration there as he's across Midfield to the 48 yd line 73 yds for him on the ground he has been terrific here this afternoon Young on first down open here Adam theler and he's Corral but not before getting it inside the 35 15 more yards there and quickly another first [Applause] down and they're not going to get to the line to run another play so we will switch in as the and we're back now in Charlotte backto back good plays have them on the move on first down all even as we get ready to start the fourth they'll run on first down Brooks and he is going to be stopped cold behind the line of scrimmage this drive starts with two steps forward and now one back a pair of first downs and here a loss of yardage so a 5yd run the other way in the wrong direction and that leads us to Second and 15 young will set to throw and that one to the right side and incomplete a partner guaranteed they approach just play with the idea of making up ground to make third down manageable unfortunately with that incompletion right back where they started on the last snap now they need a big third down play in order to pick up the yardage needed fighting his way down to about the 35 yd line give him a couple on the run as it brings up a fourth down let's give a lot of credit to the offensive line they've been able to move the ball really well on the ground the entire game and while that wasn't a huge one that's okay they'll take him in short steady bursts so here we go maybe the biggest kick of the game forthcoming this to break our fourth quarter timee and that is no good oh he missed it just wide of the upright and a costly one there as this game remains tied here in the fourth what a tough spot to miss a kick just an absolute let down look they got themselves in the field goal range gave them a chance to take the lead they come up empty and now you wonder will their offense ever see the football again yeah cuz on the the other side one through the post and this thing could be over on a determined run there as he's going to take this all the way down near the 40 that's a good way to start the drive 17 yds and a first down interior of that line blocked really well on that run but also the two tight ends they block well too not only have they stouted the line of scrimmage with their agility they can get up field and hit moving targets like linebackers defensive backs they do a really good job helping out the running game and nothing much material izing there on the first down run he'll get a couple and that's it here's a second and eight as St now to [Applause] throw to the right side and caught by Dell and he gets it down a yard or two shy of the 30 before he's out of bounds line of scrimmage the 31 now on First and [Applause] 10 St sets up the play play [Applause] action he's got the hook up with Diggs touchdown Texans ston Diggs 31 yards and the Texans have broken our tie and have taken a fourth quarter lead obviously a huge TouchDown for their team but a big TouchDown for a rookie quarterback here to be able to break the tie in the fourth quarter and he just shook off all the pressure too because when you think about it tie ball game rookie quarterback most of them are thinking don't make a mistake instead this young man just said I'll make a play fair bear good with the extra point and they will take a seven-point lead so after the touchdown here's Fair bear now to kick it away solid return prettyy good field position they'll start at the 32 the Carolina offense about ready to go the pressure is on now they're being shut out here in the second half after a decent first half offensively they need their best Drive of the game right here throw left side complete that's Brooks they'll wind up getting just a yard out of it and it's second [Applause] down Y Line they go playaction young finding Sanders on the crossing run and he'll be taken down but not before they work it across Midfield he's been big two touchdowns earlier now he's got a first down here like the design that we're seeing right there this is what they need down by touchdown here in the fourth they just need to keep working their way down field and when they see openings take their shots they'll run on first down with Hub and just no chance of turning the corner he can only get back to the line of scrimmage second and 10 coming up 4 right back to hover and this time he won't even make it back to the line of scrimmage as they stop him in his tracks it'll be a loss of a full three yards there and it also brings up third down on running plays lineman of course have their assignments that's expected but it's not often you're expecting to see a quarterback blitzing in run support and tackling the runner for a loss Young on third down and he's taken down trying to do a little too much getting outside of the pocket and it results in a sack Will Anderson picks up his second sack of the afternoon and this dominant defensive performance continued on that play this PO quarterback he's not received the protection he needs and has had to pick himself up off the turf far too often here's Johnny hacker now as he's on to punt for Carolina he gets away from one that'll be a 47 y punt officially five on the return and out will come the offense as they take over Joe Mixon and the rest of his offense making their way back onto the field he's toppled the inury mark already receiving the football closing in on that on the ground too they've really had trouble handling him I think from what we've seen in this game his Success Through the air has started to open things up for him on the ground because now he's loosened up the defense right they've got to play just about every snap as if another receiver can get down field on them and he's been that receiver now they bring him back to the Back Field I think his yardage running the ball will increases this with goes on well they might need to devote some extra attention to him something just to stop the momentum he has St to throw [Applause] it now throw right side here going to be incomplete critical play in this football game because if they pick up the first there that clap keeps rolling has to be a little frustrating for them because they know that they pick up a first down there and continue either way at the clock really increases their chances of closing this one out now they're likely going to have to give the football up and sweat it out on the sideline a 46 yd punt four yd return and the Panthers will take over now first and 10 now the offense for the Panthers here getting the football back a last series for a little disappointing forced a punt and now they'll try to do better here and Come Away with some points as they begin this drive first and 10 complete it's Johnson and he'll be taken down before he gets in the enemy territory give him 13 yds on the opening play in the drive and also give the first [Applause] down now here's young that's caught inside the 20 and they're going to be set up down around the 15 yd line a very nice pick up of 33 yds L running backs in the passing game they're just used to check it down to them or maybe dump off passes this guy they use him to stretch the field don't they stretch the right there turned it into a really nice game this offense in good shape two timeouts and the two-minute warning here's first and 10 they'll try the left side it's BS and he'll take this into the end zone touchdown Carolina t a 15yd touchdown run and the Panthers are an extra point away from tying this game here in the final minutes we are set up for a fantastic finish now a fourth quarter touchdown here we an extra point away from a tie football game and I know they're thinking about possibly going for two but I'd go ahead and kick this one and just get it back to level don't forget the extra point it's up and good and we are tied here in the fourth quarter [Applause] this one setting up for a great finish all tied in the fourth as the kicks away and it'll come out to the 25 as he will not attempt the return here's Stefan Diggs as he and the rest of the offense get ready to go again and I know that theyve double teamed him a couple times but not a ton whatever they're doing isn't working he's up over a 100 yards we'll see how they adjust and when they do that they weaken their defense in other places as well and how many times have we done games where we've seen a guy have a big game like this but it's usually not by himself is it usually it opens it up for other people to have big games as well they'll try again here second and 10 back to throw here's St and he can't get a throw off he's taken down what a huge play at this point in the game from the go to give to Mixon and able to get it here to about the 16 yd line and whistles and we're going to have another stoppage of play as they call the Timeout on defense with 153 left now Sanders fighting through good blocking there nearly sprung him as it is it'll go as a 19 yd return and the Panthers will take over in terrific field position here's first [Applause] down young and he short arms that one just a bit it's low and incomplete I guess you can't be afraid to take those chances late in the game he tried to fit that one in there nice job though defensively but to your point it was a nice job of knocking the ball away but you're also right you can't be afraid to take those chances that means guys going downfield to catch the ball they've got to elevate their game and come down with these in order to keep your offense moving young to throw and he is caught and he goes down but not before getting this inside the 25 now the Texans will burn the first of their timeouts as they'll head to the sideline and talk over what to do next and he will take it across from Panther's touchdown a great play there with his second TD of the game his sixth on the year as his guys have taken the lead here in the final two minutes and that score deserves our respect deserves our excitement but I'm looking at the clock and I'm thinking there's a long way to go in this one ideally they would have liked to mil a little bit more time off now on the other sideline you start to get the crew together and say this is what we practiced a two-minute drill for right yeah you hope you've been in that situation before and if if you have it you just have the confidence hey let's go down there and get this thing done but boy that's a big score right there to give him the advantage the Carolina kick team is out there ready to go and they kick this one away taken at the goal [Applause] line and not much happening on the return as he'll get this to about the 23 so St and the Texans down by seven a little over a minute to go they need a touchdown to the pat to tie it as they come up first and 10 now [Applause] St and seeing no options he just tosses this one away incomplete now that'll bring up second down here's St looking left side and he's got a in that's Schulz now the Texans will use one of their two remaining timeouts as the clock stops here with 46 seconds left to play short throw into the hands of Jordan here's second down and three St to throw it that's caught by Davis and yes he's into the end zone so they get the late score they needed and now the extra point can tie this thing up in the final minute and while it appears the heavy lifting was accomplished by scoring the touchdown they're still down one that extra point is not a g me Fair bear now to add the extra [Applause] point and no sweat he puts it through and we are tied here in the fourth this one all we could have asked for All Tied final minute as the kicks away here and the decision to come out of the end zone is going to cost him five yds as he's taken down right at the 20 the Panthers about ready to take over and Charles obviously not much time left I'm curious to see if there's enough for them to get into field goal range and try to win this thing and partner you and I both know the safe calls to kneel and just take it into overtime it's also very tough to pass up a chance to win it right now as well but remember if you do attempt that it's got to be a big play that field and still give yourself enough time to get your field goal unit out there and kick for the RN final whistle blows and we need some extra time here to decide who will be the Victor 60 minutes just not enough some days to decide who's going to win the game and here in overtime if the team that receives the ball scores a touchdown it's over if they don't we can still have some more football that's exactly ex L right if they go down and kick a field goal the other team gets a possession to either match it or score a touchdown to win the ball game if both teams kick field goals the next team to score wins but if the receiving team throws a pick six or fumbles the ball and gets picked up by the defense and they score the game is over at that point and he'll be stopped up at the 25 and the Texans set to come onto the field well they fought hard to reach a Point Charles and now what an opportunity they've got the ball first a chance to take this overtime win away from the hostile crowd and you know as a quarterback steps into the Huddle the first thing he's telling his team is remember we need six not three there he goes left side a huge play there in overtime 45 yds and the offense is saying to itself right now if only they were all this easy because he was wide open and once he made the catch plenty of room to work his his way down field that was a breakdown on the defensive side of the ball one that they want to fix immediately so the big play has him all the way down to the 30 now for first and 10 here's Stout left side caught by Diggs and he'll head out of bounds inside the 10 mark it down at the nine the end result 21 yds defensively now the ultimate challenge of course the ball Gets In The End Zone this thing's over and I remember my coach has always talked about in goal line situations and now you're in overtime where they have to keep them to three points otherwise this thing is done win your individual battle within the framework of the team defense beat that guy across from you and make a play I expect him to attack on defense and not sit back give him right around four on the carry we'll see if they want to keep pounding here on Third and goal [Applause] Madison and he is in for the score and it is absolute stun silence here as they went it on the road in overtime Charles normally when you see a group score this many points it's a complete blowout but instead they needed every single one of those in this close high-scoring Affair and Brandon I'm still on the edge of my seat after that one because when you have that much scoring and it still comes down to a one possession game at the end that's not something we see very often and in this case these offenses they brought it the defenses they're going to need some work going forward so for the Texans the win moves him up to 5- two now on the year and they will head back home next week meanwhile for Carolina they fall a game under the 500 Mark at three and four through seven games and they'll get a chance to redeem themselves at home next week
