eyed whenever they get some cameras up in that that those sections uh I if if we could get a video clip of him and the fam up in the in the stands that would be awesome so hopefully and he's supposed to join us at some point tonight he's supposed to stop by while he's while he's there live so he'll be coming to Discord and we'll we'll have him up just like he normally is up there in the C Sports Network block but uh he'll have his cam there his camera on down on the field he's about 10 rows up so we tried to put him in that little sweet spot that you see a lot of a lot of left field home runs as right alumni weekend Maverick have a chance plays cards right should have a chance to get out on the field we were talking earlier being Alum weekend the effect of TBS through the90s I grew up a Braves fan because of that and I know you were kind of the same right so s California and you grow up in in Giants in in A's country but the Braves were a part of the West which you still like the part you don't doesn't make sense but TBS 435 games I mean I I grew up watching in more nine inning full games of those than I did sometimes of the Giants and A's because of timing right got to go to bed everything's going to happen but like the mark lmy of the world Terry Pendleton like guys that I love Chipper Jones and then you get the play against but like the the history Braes he so far across the country not because of were in those times but the access and and to see all those guys out there today or this weekend for me that was always that's a tremendous honor right like Mark wallers is out there you're going I watched like 900 games that you pitched because it seemed like every day you were on the mount and Wy Ballard downstairs has more on the special alumni weekend for the Braves it's been a great weekend for Braves fans across Braves country 60 alumni descending down upon truest Park this is the 14th year of the event and it seems to get bigger every year and for the Braves they've got players ranging from the 60s all the way up to 2019 here are some of the highlights Friday night the Legends parade you've got all stars MVP a big celebration of over 50 years of Braves history how about JN Smoltz getting the first pitch on Friday night then yesterday the Home Run Derby Dan UGA with the walk-off Homer to win it and also the Braves Hall of Famers and attendants being recognized a chance to catch up with Charlie Morton who of course not only pitched for the Braves 15 years ago as a rookie but also grew up a Braves fan and he spoke about how much it meant to pitch in front of not only former teammates but a lot of players he looked up to he even recalled when he was real young going to spring training and seen Chipper Jones in his rookie season his first year as a brave and how special it was to take the field last night with chipper in attendance so guys it's been a terrific weekend and we've got plenty more coming up for you it's a first half an hour hour of the game is a little feel out period who could do better especially after a late night the twins series on Saturday the only thing is the twins are blacked out for me we'll started out we weren't exactly looking for four tickets again a lot of the youth I've never bought learning the big league level I get there and there's four seats he's not learning the defensive side at the big league level and it tells me he's got that taken care of I can buy SE as so I'm like oh okay I must have to buy two seats and then it'll let me buy the single seat ground so I go ahead and make purch for two of them that's going to be out number three so that'll retire the side we are heading to the bottom of the second so I I make the purchase of the first two seats and I go back to grab a single seat and the the other two seats sit next to them now they now they're selling them as a pair they wouldn't let me buy a single seat but before it all started I could have bought one single seat and then probably bought a double seater but because I bought two and it left I I don't know I don't know why it did it but it wouldn't let me split the other two up so I had to buy them I had to buy them both we couldn't have these kids or him somewhere else from his kids so then I just told him like hey man I got to buy this four ticket I'm like I'm sure you can find somebody to go with can't you so he invited his buddy Wayne his fishing buddy now we're now we're looking at uh I believe it's the blue jay or not the Blue Jays the Kansas City Royals the last Sunday game The Last home game of the season for the Braves uh we're working at getting getting him a wall seat right there in section 148 he'll be right at the wall it's either section 148 or 149 for that game those are $65 for the two tickets a peace Lopez got us out of it got to give the man credit for that the Braves L Austin Riley that pitch coming in and unfortunately a broken bone in the hand probably won't return this regular season like the postseason if the Braves get there and that's the one that sucks not because of obviously the pitch but you're going it's his throwing hand too right there's a lot that goes involved with the top hand in your swing but also for Austin riy the defensive side in throwing and getting things back into shape that's a huge loss and whether or not he was going at that Allstar level this year or not man it's still Austin Riley like he is that threat in the lineup single even in his deserved it and this is the guy that has taken his place Gio orella so the six game with the Braves all of them start since that injury to Austin Riley been pretty good huh he's been tremendous defensively he's always bringing it so Ella with a 248 batting average doesn't mean at top end he's got a 631 Ops tremendous defensive work the offensive side he'll give you some po Ella there's a little but Jacob Young no problem line drive off the center field out number one so the Austin Riley injury the most recent but it started out with one of the Sai Young favorites in Spencer Strider than the reigning MVP Ronald aunia ozie alz injures his RIS they hope to get him back in a couple of weeks but it's just been one guy after the other and it's not a hammy it's not you know just a little thing here and there Austin Riley dealing with that oblique issue earlier in the year too it is the big injury rder had UCL surgery had ACL surgery says everything about the organization where they're at right I mean now we've lost might as well say guys if we don't go into the playoffs we've lost Riley for the rest of the season and it was only a couple of weeks ago where people were saying we'll be lucky if we get back they just responded and have been winning close games since we are currently holding on to that third and final playoff that he is be emotional at times but not card playoff position two and a half games up Bobby Bobby Cox who still leads all managers in baseball it should have went to he hands it to somebody higher up in the stand so that was a little disappointing to see that youngster would have had that ball if he didn't have that other ball in his in his plate a big moment here for DJ herdz as he faces his former fall ball coach from what 11 years ago we're joined by one of DJ's fall ball teammates that'd be Whit's Littlefield and this guy he first off I talked to Whit yesterday he felt like facing DJ makes him feel old but he's always been old had he's 11 years older oh he's always been old yeah I got to he's always been old he's been the older brother for me forever um but you know it's really cool to see uh this kind of coming to fruition right here um playing with DJ growing up and with being a part of that fall ball team being the coach uh during the fall it's really cool to kind of see this happen what are your memories of DJ you know this is 10 years ago uh one single memory doesn't really stick out but he was just competitor man guys you know when D I didn't really have to worry about any balls getting hit to me um go just a super good athlete I mean when he was and then after summer ball games you know he was leaving the summer to joining the channel Braes are currently good really good competitor and really happy for him we're here at the bottom of the one out now talking about a compe one of the most competitive people I've ever met so you know even as a talking about a 13 14y old team he's coaching third he's giving us a green light all the time wanted to us to deal you know do the little things but um he was able to offer some of those things that only a pro ball athlete could you know offer to a group of young guys so it was really cool for my brother to be a part of that team and my dad was a head coach so it was kind of a whole family affair super think DJ pitched around him there I think yeah thanks he appreciate the time man great story so cool so former player on the m 40 yeah a crazy crazy story think about what's going through probably DJ's mind to yell at me I don't know you got a little overzealous 10 10 pitches or less he does free so it be nice to get you know those the guy rounds it over and you get him outy knock you get a Fly ball being great he just couldn't do five innings in the minor leagues of like oh he was in trouble constantly gotg strugg High walk rates in the minor leagues what's up for whatever reason it is like yeah it's easier throw strikes here I guess I don't know well it's not easier but he's making it look easier bouncer to third they will get the lead Runner little bit they got the lead off by out number two and there are two away I think we all could agree to I tell you ntional are playing some good ball the wheels are are at first base that's a a good play to get the guy that has the speed get him off there get him out of there Whit in scoring position is a guaranteed run it almost feels like that with the way he runs the bases does every little thing right yeah you mentioned him getting older but even at 35 he he still moves really well well that was more of a joke oh come on now you know me swing in a Miss yeah I was just saying there for one on the day all clippings everywhere he's the example though with marfield is of he went to the Phillies this year and was a utility guy it's not easy he was not a utility guy he played every day for the Royals and the Blue Jays and you're looking at someone that is getting that opportunity and running with it why because he knows exactly how to get ready for games every single day to play and his brother was talking about the competitor he is that's something the Braves have valued in the clubhouse as well from Whit field two time Allstar welcome in everybody I appreciate you
