Kamala Harris Interview Tonight And A Breakdown Of Her Campaign Run

Apper and we start this hour with the massive breaking news our very first look at CNN's exclusive interview with Democratic presidential candidate kamla Harris Harris and her running mate Governor Tim wall sat down with CNN's Dana Bash at interview that wrapped up just moments ago in Georgia where Harris and walls are trying to win over voters and what will be one of the most important swing States in this election now this is the paris's first interview as the Democratic ticket and it's Harris's first interview since the presidential race was upended less than 6 weeks ago go straight to CNN's Dana Bash Dana a pivotal time a pivotal moment in this campaign the first ballots get mailed out next week tell us about the conversation m i Phil well it was wide ranging we talked about several issues that are very important to voters including and especially of course the economy affordability one of the key uh issues for kamla Harris is that because she has not run on her own uh since she ran briefly during the 2020 cycle is what are her policy positions Now versus what they were before and I asked her about a few very specific uh policies for example on immigration and on uh the issue of energy the green New Deal fracking and then more broadly talked about her changes and how that could or should affect vo how should voters look at some of the changes that you've made uh that you explained some of here uh in your policy is it because you have more experience now and you've learned more about the information is it because you were running for president in a Democratic primary and should they feel comfortable and confident that what you're saying now is going to be your policy moving forward Dana I think the the the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed you mentioned the green New Deal I have always believed and I have worked on it that the climate crisis is real that it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time we did that with the inflation reduction act we have set goals for the United States of America and by extension the globe around when we should meet certain standards for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as an example that value has not changed it doesn't Inspire confidence in me as a woman I mean everyone's supposed to be celebrating that she could be our first female president and she can't even do a sit down interview on her own that I got news for you madam Harris that's not how the presidency is supposed to work you actually are an a single individual imbued with a lot of power a lot of power go read article two and you don't get to do it with your binky right next to you you're your big white blankie for every every interview that's what he is that actually works perfectly I used to have a big white blankie that I carried everywhere he happens to be white and he is her big crossing the border then when she was running for president she said it's not illegal to cross the border then when she was the borders are she didn't prosecute anybody crossing the border and now that she's running for president she wants to build a wall and her values haven't changed okay look this is what she said on the green New Deal she sponsored a bill so you won't be able to buy a gas powered car in 20 years and then her campaign says she doesn't believe that anymore even though that's what she did in the Biden Administration then she makes a huge mistake and admits the inflation reduction Act was really just the green New Deal and says this it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time deadlines around time what other kind of deadlines are there and yeah Biden's Green New Deal which she cast the deciding vote to pass which jacked up inflation creates deadlines around time for gas powerered cars to be phased out so she values getting rid of the car you drive even though her campaign literally said yesterday she didn't want to do that I think the Nativity of some that question that she may have changed on some things they're comparing something that may have have been 4 years ago with something that was 4 years later the situation changed right let's keep it simple for Al and happy Dei
