hands off my rock Death Valley in Clemson South Carolina home to the Tigers today we have one of those games that test your focus top 25 team against an unranked opponent can they'll run the option now the pitch he's dropped behind the line of scrim ball carry great job great field linebackers are making all the calls in the defense and understanding when I need to come through that Gap and come through with bad intentions those guys are usually 200 and as he threw it and couldn't deliver the football it's incomplete and fourth Down's coming oh and the attempt is no like often times these guys need some space to work so they can build up ahead of steam and get the speed going but that guy didn't have anywhere to go on that one got room at the 35 that is exactly what you're the football haven't had a lot of success but boom you pop on right that's what you got to do you got you cannot become onedimensional and just throw the football every down love the offense sticking to the as he was trying to throw and they can't convert on third down personal foul ring the kicker defense the roughing the punter penalty quarterback on the keeper he is delivering the blow when it's a design play and it's a design run like here fine but then it's scramble plays and then it's passing plays he's always a running just exhausting using that running game to blo they' love to convert this third down after missing a field goal on the last Drive give to the fullback just what they' hoped for on fo block harder and he'll block longer in the future here comes the offense on second down he'll keep it himself hey that's a live ball it's as if that ball at here comes the noise backing this defense on third down defense was not fooled by that they're happy enough to try to take the points as the field goal unit heads out it's good easy call for the [Applause] refs he'll do it himself and he probably should have just back to open this drive at second and 12 fullbacks got it and a nice solid pick up there before the early turn into 20 30 40 yd gains later they really wear down defenses and they test their physicality he Powers his way ahead gets moving the running back trying to get the D to tip its hand quick toss he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see what the call is holding they've got him Pann deep in their own end and this crowd trying to help keep them there finds inrease at the 20 they force the four down three snap motion quarterback trying to get a read at the 45 on it way ripped off a huge chunk play on that one as he gets the first down before he steps out of bounds in offense starting to show a little juice they've got a first and 10 a designed run for the quarterback picks up the first down still moving 26 it's first and 10 here we go a run for the quarterback and he'll pick up one it brings up now on the option they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one the defense really gets they understand I play defense am I going to have more speed on the field whatever I do I got to make sure try to do what they did right there focus in on the QB lock in and make sure he doesn't beat oh exception and this guy makes so many big play but couldn't come up with that one it'll be fourth down field goal is good two-minute warning on the option now the toss he has the first and still on his feet we've made our Better Block goodness gracious that's supposed to be a foot hter get me a few short yards and there was nowhere to hit it they guess got hit in the back field and brought the big fella down quickly and he'll run across the sideline I'll take it I'll make the catch that goes down the stat look as a catch here comes the option he'll toss it at the 35 he's got room and he's still on his feet but five not only to cut into the lead but play it just right and maybe the other team doesn't even get a chance to answer and he burrows his way into the end zone and that's a nice drive a nice physicality they'll open this third quarter with a run he is going nowhere they bring the punter onto the field now you got to love that on defense one of the most critical statistics out there is how do you play on third down how do you prevent the opponent from keeping drives alive right there tackling the catch you gave up a completion what you do you set up fourth and long you're going to get the ball Drive alive thanks to the roughing the punter penalty give to the big fullback this is the absolute right call they're going for it on fourth down they'll run the option he'll toss it and they'll ride him down but not here's this offense with a fresh set of downs motion trying to get the defense to show its hand able to scr three yards oh that slithered right through his fingers and would have been his second interception of the game instead it's fourth down and that punt will make it way one play you have called if you're running it inside or outside if the defense gets penetration everything is done and you saw on that play right there great job by the D I like the decision by the quarter to hit somebody fast nowhere to go creating some space getting just they've been busy out there to punt for the fifth time today you'd think they would have had a the back goes in motion on the option now the toss at the 35 he's open he's big play to start this drive now they'll snap it from the 39 to the air on first down and the pass is intercepted and he's wrapped up at three solid we on the option they pick up half of it it'll be second he's going try to hurt this defense with his legs it puts so much stress on the defensive line to chase him and the fact that the play is extended so long yeah if they've got a spy defensively if someone's athletic enough to run with this guy that's going to be maybe a a sound move moving forward scha just an obvious holding call there and one that just kills an op on Third and long he's going to have to turn one loose downfield and it's an incomplete pass on the Deep shot but the flag is down let's check [Applause] the he'll power it inside with the fullback banging slithering whatever it strong guys that usually lead the way for the running back but occasionally you slip it to him and you probably don't do it too much and don't make a living off but when you get nice little chunk like this maybe you find another yeah David I I think this offensive line right now they've got a lather going they're really sort of getting in the groove and flow of this game they're just getting tremendous push at the point of attack it's see here comes the option gets it past the marker and he put his foot in the ground and turn and he has a chance to get downfield he is really difficult to tackle and he's very difficult to catch as you saw in that last play getting a first offens is to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the footall on first down they'll run the option at the 20 he's got space he's in for the touchdown yeah and listen that that is awesome to see the guys continue to fight continue to keep competing because this game is over like we don't need to fool y'all we're not trying to get y'all to stick around in it has been said that the obstacle is the way and this obstacle is now backto back losses back to back Hills um it's not the end of the world though I still think there's time for this team to figure out what they're going to do how they're going to fin about finding a way to win a game right now in all likelihood 99.9% chance the college football playoff now is not a possibility anymore that's okay let's worry about winning a game let's go back let's watch the film let's get back to being who we are so we can get this ship right
