match um I expect a tough match and um she is I knew she's really great player uh so I tried to stay really focused focused on my game and um yeah I think I took the chances that she she gave me and um happy to to play two sets name and affiliation please R Garber WTA you've been to net more than anybody else at this tournament what is it about being at the net that gives you such a good advantage over opponents uh well I'm winning points there so I keep on keep on going there um it's kind of natural for me like if I see a chance to go on the net that I can uh speed up the rally or just change it up um I just go there I feel good on the net served in I think only three times today but you saved it did you have it in the back of your mind that you were just going to roll it out at some point you would do that uh ser and Wes yeah um yeah one I feel like that it's good to play that um I go for it when I hit a good serve but she was returning pretty well so that's why I didn't go there that many times today and yeah I I guess that's about it Chris well played Chris Auto with us open you seem to do well on any surface clay grass doesn't seem to matter you play well but is there something you like about the US Open you had some pretty good performances here over the years yeah I I really love New York City I like the city I like the courts they're fast so I like that as well uh this is this was my first tournament actually where I qualified for for uh Grand Slam so I have nice memories for this tournament and yeah I just I just like the vibe of it you know it's uh noisy it's uh crowded it's just New York I I really like it like the opposite of Petra in terms of the way you enjoy the city how she liked to be quiet and not to compare you to her at all but I mean who Patrick kava who your your compatriot who kind of like to stay away from the big city and a lot players do that's not you at all no I I really like this city I like to go out and and there some nice restaurants I I love Central Park so all of it it's kind of yeah always looking forward to come back here Simon gra media uh Chris ever uh compared your game to a man's uh game style would you take that as a compliment I think on share wasn't too happy with that would you say you modeled you were wasn't happy with that yeah she said uh you don't have to base that on the gender uh strengths okay would you take it as a as a compliment would you say that's true that I play like a man yeah or that you modeled your game uh I don't think I play like men um uh I don't know what to say about that I I don't really know what she said but uh yeah um I'm trying to obviously I took some inspiration from from um let's name Roger featherer or jokovic like I like to follow what they do and then it kind of inspires me I don't think I play that way but um I'm I'm um yeah I don't know what's what's what really to comment on this one really when when you came to the tournament what thought did you give to getting real far and maybe even winning the tournament um going far well at the start of the tournament zero thoughts about that honestly um I didn't know what to expect from myself I mean I didn't play much this year so was just trying to be focused on the first match that's usually the trickiest one um really really grateful and happy that I made it now to the fourth round and I I feel better each each uh match actually so it's nice to get some matches on their belt and and um I'm I'm again happy that I'll will have a chance to play another match here and do you think now about next weekend no still not I still well now I just want to enjoy today and then um today today's game and then I'll just be focused on Monday Chris K you're gonna face Jasmine P next and she's had this incredible season I just you faced her before but not this year and I just wonder what you make of the success she's had I think she had won four matches at the majors prior to this year and this year she's 118 you know she reached two slam finals do you look at her as like a completely different player than you the one you faced before well I think it's going to be few years we played we played last match I don't even know uh so for sure I think every every week every month every year you are a different player and and looking at her result you can see that she really uh improved a lot uh I didn't play the slams um the ran gas I was I was following actually and I'm I'm a fan of hers like she she did an incredible job and playing finals on clay and then then on grass in wimon it's just pretty inspiring and and um yeah she's very ni nice girl so it's um yeah was supporting okay last question congrats to amazing perform and of ma and DB for tennis I'm just wondering you mentioned that you adopted couple of elements of the game from uh for example your idol Roger Roger Federer but where does the Inner Strength the mental strength and this confidence level uh come from I mean it's based genetically I mean from family or U came from the the traditional tennis uh Czech tennis School the Heritage the fundament the mental strength the mental strength and this driving force um driving force well I I it's pretty easy I really love tennis I love to play so um it's easy for me to be motivated and to play on this big events it's just uh why I play tennis and what I play for and uh confidence I think with each match personally it's um getting me giving me more confidence so each match I you win or you learn um that's for sure has some something to do that I didn't have a beer
