annabelling I was in here with Brewer hicklin Brewer welcome back glad to be back it's it's great spot to be tell me about coming back from your elbow injury and that surgery had to go it was weird I've never had any arm issues so it was definitely an adjustment just being on the sidelines the whole spring training but really glad to be back with the boys it was a long 11 weeks but nonetheless here we are what do you think got you through that time most talked about your first borns on the way how about that yeah I mean I think it really just changes your perspective on everything I mean when you're you know wife's going through the pregnancy and the first trimester is very difficult so I had that to kind of distract me and she was out there in Arizona with me but it's something that we're so excited about and so fortunate to have the responsibility let's talk about your year last year obviously historic 20 20 20 season not many guys can say that they've done it what do you think went into that success I think just the persistence every each and every day coming in here with a motto just to work and get after it um you know hopefully this year has more in store but obviously looking back it's something to be proud of and something that you know I worked really hard to get to and hopefully this year has more in store I know you've talked about your your mindset before and just being where your feet are in the same 100 even more you know now that I have a child on the way it really just puts things into perspective I think um you know life's bigger than the game of baseball that's really my mindset I just want to have an impact on my teammates have an impact on the fans and the way that I go about my business but um you know it is fun to have success on the field obviously the more success you have on the field it seems like the more people are interested in your story so the more people that I can have looking at me I just want to you know handle that responsibility well and be able to represent Christ in a good way you've spent a lot of this off season obviously rehabbing but now you get a chance to go out there and play finally what's the big Focus for you I think just getting back you know in the box and comfortable I'm still kind of a little bit sped up in the Box I'm you know less than 20 at bats in but I think you know the longer I get in there the better I'll feel hopefully uh you know some home runs and stolen bases to come but I'm just trying to be patient in the process it's a long season and you know we've still got four months left so hopefully uh we'll have some good good four months has there been any changes mechanically for you whatsoever not really anything mechanically changing the battle a little but trying to move the weight closer to my hands to eliminate some strikeouts but to say that's working or not I'm not quite sure yet we'll see uh we'll see the season but yeah I mean I'm still the same hitter just going up there trying to compete and uh be a tough out each and every out foreign
