for the tight end and there aren't many better than this guy yeah and just big bodies that you can miss a little bit high and it really doesn't matter but over the middle of the field closer throws so nice to have a security blanket with a great tight end snagged in the middle it's granch they stop him just a link or two short of the first and man what they can do on second down here less than a yard to go to pick up the first down from the gun the running back has it he makes the tackle at the 33 after a pick up of five man I really love the way this guy looks at his tot run think about all the high school kids out there who dream about One Day Dawning a USC Jersey and being the starting running back for the Trojans there is so much competition not just in the state of California but nationally to come to this school and be the guy to be rv1 he's on the field for a reason this guy is unique he's got speed dang great play by the D Lin behind the line of scage that'll be a l of three goodness that is the way you blow up a play quick fast and in a hurry hair on fire caused a wreck that had to be a blown assign on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air holds it on the left after burner coming and he running and he ran away from the crowd and he'll take it in touchdown well I'm not sure who was closer to the receiver there the defensive backs or us here in the booth that was great execution on offense receiver wins the route oneon-one shows on the speed gets himself wide open there was no nice job about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown he'll start return oh no oh what Vision there he goes open it up he will score touchdown I'm horrible with special teams in this game I mean I'm pretty bad at a lot but especially great blocking on the play and he does the rest you don't put guys back deep that can't roll and you could see when he got in the open field he roll out couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 and guys USC has the ball back and sending the offense onto the field wants to throw on first down the play F un the great play byc Knock It Away playing defensive back to me is one of the hardest things to do in all of sports you've got to be able to run with a world class athlete who knows where he's going wow man is he luy to get that one back defense that close to an interception probably the calll on the play sheet third and long ball up the 25 white wants to throw it no in his fingers and he couldn't hold on this is a point where you just got to be able to focus the critical down and distances in this game like that third down right there when it's a good throw you got to make the catch you got to be able to make that play on fourth down they're taking to the a [ __ ] and is going to be batted down they'll turn it over on Downs so Alabama's offense will try to get something going with their first possession one thing to watch can this guy get in the quarter's head and make him a the rush David dang Skippy that's what you want to do you want to make this guy a little bit more human and not as much of a game breaker at the quarterback spot get some hit him a few times he's one of the best he'll take it to the house Crimson first goal you know what's coming they know what's coming can you stop and you can't the football straight ahead for six nice job by the big five about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown here he comes from inside his own five really disciplined job by by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 line gets set oh I should have just kept running just short of the 20 at 19 give him one we'll get this quarter going with a second down play going to attack through the air nice his big tight end well you hear all the time that the tight end's the QB's best friend you saw example of it on that last play right second down you need to pick up some positive yards to keep this third down manageable really nice job of execu and he surges up to the 36 yd line and they'll move the chain and the Trojans come to the line in the hurry up and here we go if you're an offense you got to get that ground game going so you can have some balance and then give it to your quarterback Palmer and let him make some plays down the field later on yeah exactly and coming into game this off knew they were going to have to some way somehow at least establish a semblance of a running game for exactly what just can cover so much of the field get down Feld it's we just saw can help get third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off from the gun wants to pass I'm going for out the tie TI used more and more in the passing game you see him moving inside you see him moving and run so dangerous this guy it's a first down they'll stop the clock to reset the chains offense Up Tempo he's going to pass finds his man it's a neighbor they make the stop right there good pick up but still short of the first down quick Tempo no huddle off and second down clock running he's looking to throw going for it all that one Falls incomplete trying to get a chunk play on that one and this as a quarterback you're trying to find the match up trying to find who's open I don't know if anybody was open but that was not a greatly thrown football I don't know if it was miscommunication but the ball thrown out of just on to the next down he took a hit as he couldn't theball complete and fourth Down's coming yeah and third and short that choose not to run throw the football and I think a lot of that has to do they know they're inugo range they can take the three points on theard try to get it on the ground and the Trojans will have a first down a fresh set of downs after that fourth down conversion but still the Up Tempo get to the line quickly oh I tried to throw it away gosh darn it time out a catastrophic loss on that there's a timeout as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer second down now after the sack white wants to throw it yep got his hand down field bounced off his they'll hurry to the line here to try to get off that third down play from the gun wants to pass fires to the Wi out all kinds of room to that in there the Trojans will hustle to the line they're looking to pass from the Red Zone o they covered that so well gosh darn it I always get killed on the QB fumbles they stck with me so well time he coughed it up did a great job getting outside the pocket but the defense closed in forced the fumble recover great job by the defense hit hard just as he released it on first down and just couldn't get it to the receiver they'll line up for a second down play they'll throw again after the incomp I'm and the defense a sacking in back at the 10 we got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break theame and not a lot on the third and their wow he got it no he didn't wow I got so lucky refere wanting to make sure that they have everything just right with a big play coming fourth down punt team sends it the other way looking for a block it's Branch he gets it up to the 34 yd line before he stopped and that's where the off will set up shot time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half wants to throw on first down unloads to the wide out makes the grab and they'll finally bring him down after he rips off a huge play this will likely be the last play of the half ATT deep shot the he got it let's go f on about late in the first half getting the score now an extra point away from tying this football game going into exactly how you draw a twoin drill it's how you want to finish this offense Prides itself on going after you and they did with that long touchdown pass to finish off a two-play drive and the Trojans will kick it off to start the second half here's the return from inside is T's just enough to AC cross the 25 let's mark it at the 27 yd line the tied offense rolls onto the field first drive of the second half always fun to watch you see what type of tweaks were made at the half especially when you're locked up in a ball game like this one yeah and it's been a good game I mean it's been a little bit of back and forth and a feeling out process and now once you get in the second half who's going to get aggressive who's going to take some shots try to make some plays and really go for it yeah it's interesting I think as play callers right now you learn a lot about coaching staffs with respect to who does make the best adjustments there's a lot of coaches that believe we're just going to be who we are we're going to keep doing what we do we're just going to do it better but then there are others that tweak things a little bit on offense and on defense find out here oh wow that was wide open the middle it's War running wide open down the gut of the field touchdown and that one will give him the lead that was a lightning fast drive that ends with touch down if you can string a few more drives like that together man we might as well get our pop out because we get a lot of SC and he TS on the extra point lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive he'll bring it back from inside the SP he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 this Trojan offense is ready to go back to work d love to do what they did last time and put this in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense was clicking everything went wellmer they execute and got the touch and they really were in a nice rhym as well I'd love to see that here on the next drive too just keep doing it is everything seems to be that's a football left touchdown UFC and once he got loose it was all over you know quarterbacks and receivers they develop confidence and chemistry as the game goes on these two right now definitely on the same page after that latest answer tied things up just about set to kick it away again on the move from inside his five just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at to 24 so we'll see the offense on the field to start this drive big fullback got can't get the ground got to be smart patient great vision uses all of that to get to the 29 after the run second and medium to the air it's Mall CAU and he'll move his way forward to the first down they'll mark it at the 35 the big fell with hands where those fullbacks are not talked about as athletes but shows you can a lot on the field catches the football oh good cut what a good there he has enough for the first down well that's just on the defense I'm sorry fullbacks are not supposed to be able to rip off big runs like that the defense they better do a better job tackling as this game goes on they move the tight end all over from the gun they'll give it on the inside they pick up half of it will be second and five five to six yds a pop I don't know if you guys are really good at that but that usually equals a first down every couple kills so don't forget about the Run game keep them honest P that rock he's looking for an open man on second down complete to the right and they'll move the change with the first down that might be it for the third quarter are new set of BS after that completion fullbacks got it fight off the defender and they drag him down but not before he picked up the first down here's his offense with a fresh set of downs [Applause] there it is and they the middle of Def andise to the challenge they Tred to run the football there just nowhere to go they got dominated up front the attemp O was a good keep and he's brought down after a nice game well this is one of the fastest quarterbacks in college football that's why the option's a good idea because if he can get out in space and he has a chance to get down field he is really difficult to tackle and he's very difficult to catch as you saw in that last play getting a first down running back has it oh that was like ating theed good tackle and they'll bring him to the ground after a short game well they love to pick up this conversion and go to work with a first and goal it's all tied up this offensive line they want the pressure they want everything to saying look let's just run the ball let's get this thing down closer and closer to the goal line let's bleed some clock and put ourselves in position away and now on fourth down they will put it on the shoulders of the kicker to save them with his foot here we just need a touchdown let's go from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 guys USC the back and sending the off onto the field they'll start this drive with a pass scrambling away I don't see anything he's going to run it finally run out of bounds but he has his offing with a first down those safeties wants to throw it trying to escape and get it himself on the run and he'll slide to avoid the hit a Nifty pick up there everybody has to be set they have to get it off on second down L the throw he's going up top here late in the game got it inside the T let's go the final taking the lead man this game has been incredible to watch and the offense comes through late in the game takes the lead what a clutch drive by this offense now I'm looking at you defense got the lead late in the game I need you ball to add another to their lead all right let's go extra point is good and point counts it's now a fourpoint lead in the fourth now that they have the lead this kickoff unit has to stay in their Lane create some field position and it over to the defense he'll bring it out from own nice job exting all of the assments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 here comes that Alabama offense there's plenty of time to work with here but they have to be highly efficient in so ites down don't let the moment get too big play within yourself David because this guy practiced the situation before no doubt use the sidelines they're your friend I don't have to take deep shots throw beyond the first down marker so I can stop that clock for a little bit and possibly use my timeouts grabed over the middle it's Ward and they finally haul him down but not before the good catching line they got to move quickly here seconds left in the game I say football you see a lot of bad tackling you didn't see it right there that was an awesome job first off being there at the point of attack once the tight end made the catch there was no doubt no he threw it right over your head ah and they've got the lead in the fin and some of these guys make it look so easy but these are tight windows down here there's not a lot ofield where going theball it in there makes the play and more importantly now his team is in the lead in the fourth quarter from inside the 15 here's the return oh my [Music] God looking for a offense does their job we see a lot of games like this in college football when both offenses are just trading blows back and forth and it just comes down to which defense can get a stop and this rivalry guys but the trophy the junior chele is a little bit under the radar it is it's beautiful to look at I think people are always just focused on these two blue blood programs Notre Dame USC this is intercon national championship and Heisman implications seemingly always on the line late in the year when these two teams always so cool Coast to Coast something matters something on the line you're right this game is always fun to watch the June shele they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one didn't take long to need a clutch play on the opening drive it's third and seven from the gun wants to pass to the left just too much mustard on that one can't miss the Target that b lining up to PL it away getting our first look of the afternoon at the punter he gets a block he was working his way on the return toward Midfield they'll stop him at the 46 first down for the offense leaves it with the back big for this offense when they get it to the 32 and the Trojans in the hurry up defense is going to have their hands full trying to stop this guy they better rally to the football and get multiple hats cuz he is not easy to bring down Ed the play fake now to throw he'll get rid of it he's got it nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down the Trojans look to do some damage in the red zone trying to C this drive with the pass keeps looking down field they'll force him out of bounds after a solid pick up on the play Here Comes the offense on second down they go to the ground they make the Stop and that'll bring the first quarter to a close they love to start this quarter off with a touchdown right here quarterback keeper and he's sprinting he'll take it all the way touchdown Trojan and it feels good to land that first big punch against a rival doesn't it no doubt in a game like this too you just want to be executed at a high level early so D got to feel freid getting on the board and settles everyone down all the nerves all the motion of this rivalry game now everybody can kind of settle in you know you already got a touchdown on the and he takes this from inside the five and the coverage team able to make the tackle third a has the ball and ready to get moving boy three and out last time David they' like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah they have a bad execution on that last drive so they got to take Collective breath start playing like there have been many memorable games in this rivalry it was memorable for Notre Dame last year not so much for SC as the Trojans got blown out no and Notre Dame is a team that we've seen in the playoff in recent years and they want to get there consistently to do that they've got to win robberry games like this you're going to play a big time opponent like USC with all that talent and that coaching staff you're going to have to play at a very high L last year David stop down they did they used that big chele and laid the hammer and took care of business and you've seen Notre Dame you had these years now where they've had really good Seasons but we want to see them build on and do multiple Good Seasons in a that means beating your rival beating USC consistently let's see what the Irish have today they'll try to kick it into open drive clock running second down coming looking to throw it again get out of here receiver there it's incomplete so many memorable and historic moments in this rivalry guys it's a century old now first meeting in 1926 well you think of all the great coaches that have braced the sidelines in this rivalry right luk rockney a Paran John Robinson P Carol lot of national championships between these two schools there hold I we can keep going on the uniforms are always strong always consistent fan bases are always so great this is a and he'll be down at the 40 right try to put something up before halftime they'll throw it on first Downes the end yes good how about the they spread out everybody spread wide EAS defense when you do that they find the match up they want and they get reward the extra point pushes the lead to 14 get that touchdown right before the half build momentum and the last thing you need to do is mess it up by allowing a big kickoff return he'll start the return inside his five solid return decent field position as he goes out of Bounds at the 30 just enough time for one final play of the half going up top on first down oh I went for the strip pass is incomplete and half comes to a close on that play ready to go here in the second half and Notre Dame will kick it away looking for an alley from inside his own 10 and the return man showing great vision to be able to find some space and put his team in much better field position this Trojan offense is ready to go back to work now here's a chance after that score late in the first half to open the second half by put together it will be so awesome for this squad like you did your first job you took care of the two minute Dr now come out continue that momentum continue that feel good juice you had in the lock and this off should be feeling that good Juju too because they did some nice things on that last Drive quarter offensive line everybody and playing together let's see if they can carry that forward here on this first drive of the second half on that and 11 ATT through the just a short pass the tight end good execution they moved the sticks and they at the 33 Trojans used to be known for student body right they can still do that but quarterbacks like this you want to clear it up yeah I I think they they hung that up years ago when they started to find you know big strong quarterbacks that can connection on first down now here on second they think they can impose their will here with the run to the right spins away off he goes he'll get that one all the way down to the yd line before heop so so close to cashing it in for this offense they'll keep it on the ground for first and goal there to make the tackle and with that we'll head to the fourth quarter starting off this quarter close enough to smell the goal line barges ahead and to the end Z he goes touchdown USC the Eno Nation starting to their as is lead in I'm impressed too with the Trojans of this one they've got a lot of competition in conference week in week out you don't get a break when you go out of conference to play but mentally they've had a lot left in the tank they are dominating Notre Dame and it's so fun to watch you after your great uniforms great football this match up the juwel chele every single year is always fun to watch here he comes from inside zone five and the returner is stuck here come the Irish back on offense it has been a rather forgettable day that's finally coming to a close David it's been awful I mean just not not functioning well on offense defense giving up a lot of points this is the day Palmer they'll like to forget yeah you're going to find out a lot about their character right now obviously not what they hope this would be and that's demoralizing for a lot of these kids that have worked real intercepted he was dreaming of getting a few more on that return but they'll take it in at 32 keep up them pass rushers bringing them DBS that's what I'm doing in this situation when I got the Le couple scores late in the ball game in the fourth quarter I'm going to rush the passer like crazy put all those DS back play in the pass that's what happened great job understanding they're going to have to take shots we get the interception this one's almost done here comes the offense on first down they'll keep it on the ground the clock is on their side oh man oh he got Lo they make the stop but not before he set them with a first and goal from the 10 what a r great speed great vision elusiveness and David's tackled down close to the goine man this offense you can run the football like this man you will have success especially in the Red Zone trying to get touchdown oh [ __ ] that was less than choreographed everybody going on their own snap count there so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty and the Trojans have it in scoring position on first and goal must throw itain theid he does a good Jobo going through his pression there go get some yardage make it positive don't sit back in the pocket and force something into a bad situation or take a sacko and the beat down has ensued wow this off lot of faith in this running back knowing if they get down into this area of the field he can get it done and he can answer the Bell rushing touchdowns already for this offense almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown he'll bring it back from inside to spot not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 Mame has the ball and ready to get moving been a really disappointing performance David no question about that but they can find some positive yeah and every time you and the quarterback goes down at the 11 yd line after getting nothing done on the last one this is a big play second and long from the 11 feeling some heat catch in the middle it's brown they bring him down but a solid picked off to put them in position to pick up a first down this defense has kept them backed up now stop and they can get off the field on Third and long coming after and the pressure gets him back at the 8 Y Line the iris s out the punt unit doesn't say much for your drive when you're looking forward to the punt and the punt team able to sling him to the ground and after this play the cake will be baked quarterback checking off white going to attack through the air Clow toward the end zone it's incomplete and they tried to finish this quarter with a bang and couldn't quite connect no matter how much college football changes realignment all of that kind of stff rivalries are consistent and winning rivalry games well that's just the best because they hate each other so much so you take the field against your rival you're able to put forth a performance like that that is worth its weight and go David unbelievable effort here by the winning team at bragging rights now for bragging rights for a while it's it's a fun timeout you got to try and conserve as much clock as possible to give yourself a chance to win RPO run right set ball game let's go what a really job running the RPO the pass threat you could tell SED
