Sports college football by I know how to sum up this game succinctly that was fun and what a victory to remember fun for them fun for us just the back and forth uh games that are so nip and Tuck and you know every play matters so much these are the games that we love to call yeah every play matters David and that's why coaching staffs practice overtime scenarios and situations throughout the week it's important to drill these types of scenarios you never know what games are going to go to OT and when they do you love to be able to go out and execute with the game for us from here for Jesse for you today rich in pageantry and tradition and it ought to be a fantastic class as we'll see a squad from the Sun Belt the Marshall Thundering Herd taking on a team from the ACC the Virginia Tech Hoke for EA Sports college football Rees Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jesse Palmer time to get this game started hand off from the gun shows him the stiff arm and he's able to shed one tackle and pick up pretty good yardage you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense this crowd full throat splitting the E drums and letting him know it's going to be a long day grab near the sticks it's Brown gets it out to the 40 yd line G him five on that one Hey listen on offense just take what the defense gives you quarterback looks out wide he sees the DB way off of the reer throw the easy hitch pass you'll take that completion caught over the middle it's montgom love the play call on the RPO that time the defender bites on the Run fake and that opens up the window for the slant coming in behind it nice job ran the ball on first down let's see what they do on second running to the left he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three better find the earplugs here comes the noise backing this defense on third down from the gun wants to pass gets it out fast he gets it to the 38 yd line and they'll pick up a fresh set of downs this Marshal offense putting together a nice drive when you run those drag routes it just takes a little bit of knowhow and when I say that the receivers got to understand find Space my quarterback's going to find me's looking for that at the same time nice throw nice catch ready to get the first down from the gun they'll try to impose their will finally pulled down but not before moving the chain from the gun they'll to impose their running game p down after a pick up of three Ball's at the 13 going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the End Zone on the run it's Roberts here just trying to bash It Forward he got a couple it's down at the 11 they'd love to pick up this third down and get a fresh set with first and goal on Third and long trying to have a big completion here quarterback feeling the pressure and down he goes at the 22 great timing by the defense there obviously the offense has the ball in the Red Zone you're trying to create a negative play to back them up they do that with the sack and if they're now going to try a field goal it's going to be a little more work for the kick [Applause] pulls and fires it complete to the right he's R out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down but we see another catch by this guy this is going to need to do a better job of tackling the catch in coverage I know they want to slap the ball away but if you can't do it and force the incompletion you've got to at least make sure you're able to drag him down to the ground as soon as he catches the ball pass the 45 on it way and perhaps a touchdown saving tackle as they gets him down at the 37 that was a really nice catch and an even better run after the grab yeah and get the ball to your playmaker what's good about having the slot is he can go either direction you can get him matched up on somebody that's not as fast and you watch he can run away from those linebackers or safeties Marshall back at it with another first and 10 he'll keep it himself and the Freshman does a great job using his technique and getting the man on the ground well the QB decided to keep it on that one the give to the back and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine got a little work on first down now back to the line he's going to pass on second down and that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact on the play but no Flags it'll be third down they think they can impose their will here with the run to the right and he's able to bounce off one tackle for a solid pick up this defense has got to get better at tackl than the open field of gang tackling because if you need three or four guys to bring a guy down have fun with that good spot after that seveny pickup on first down it's second and three they'll leave it with him able to squeeze out a couple on the play it's down at the 35 all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game he wants to throw grab go to the middle it's Montgomery yeah and I tell you what when you stick these fast suckers in the slot they don't have to be big but you get those guys that are so quick in the slot they can get great matchups and I can get the ball quick because there're such Dynamic Playmakers they get him at the 42 but he picked up 10 there great job by the off listen they'll throw it on first down just a short pass through the tight end less catch by the big Target those big tight ends you could tell in football just becoming more and more of a weapon every single team that last completion sets him up on second down he's looking to throw fires to the wide out just too much juice on that one as he air mails his receiver out of [Applause] bounds somebody needs to make a play here it's third and long from the 26 from the gun wants to pass makes the catch it's Chapman good tackle there to stop him short of the first down and it'll bring up a big decision they'll ride the running back and leave it with him they make the stop after a gain of three to the 31 it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up in a good spot got three on first down it's second and seven they'll run it from the gun pushes ahead for a couple they'll mark it at the 33 man that D tackle is a freak athlete did you see him come out of the St and beat the offensive lineman getting to the running back catlike quickness Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down from the gun wants to pass and the defense is all over the quarterback and down he goes this defensive end is an animal he already has two sacks and we're only in the third quarter I'd move him around a little bit more defensively so that the offense has no idea where he's lining up because right now man he is feasting [Music] he Wast no time and comes out throwing fires to the big fella and he laid the Lum to stop him from getting the first down I'll tell you I love the play call on first down here you're just trying to find an easy completion and the shortest throw on the field for the quarterback is finding your biggest Target and that's the tight end nice job got the completion on the last play still some work to do on second down C in the back field it's brown and they pick up just a few on that completion I love this defense's ability to fight off blocks and football they do such a great job pursuing that wide receiver screen to only allow a minimal gain of no first down lining up to convert third [Applause] down they'll try to get the first through the air got it in the middle it's Montgomery he gets it past the chains and it'll be a first down for Marshall and on that third and short I don't think he was unhappy to see that zone no was a great job by the offense hey see where the holes in the zone are sit down you only need a little bit of yards on this third down get the conversion move the sticks Marshall back at it with another first and 10 quarterback on the keeper they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one I'll tell you this is a hard defense to run against if you're going to go sideline to sideline because of that guy's speed at linebacker he can get all the way to theim chase the quarterback down on the option and make the tackle behind the line of scrimmage impressive L one on that last one it's second and 11 he's looking to throw got his Man Down field he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense wasting no time throwing on this drive gets it out quickly they make the stop right there good pick up it's still short of the first down this quarterback right now is an improve and he's doing a nice job in Pre snap he's reading the coverage and he's getting an idea of where he wants to go with the football that's why the ball's coming out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great Rhythm right now and now on second down for this offense they'll give it to the back and they'll move the chains and get it to the 47 yd line and you know big chunks like this don't happen unless you he wants to pass it on second down grabbed in the middle it's Montgomery and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play lost to throw on first down off the play fake catch in the middle it's Chapman and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up I'll be honest man if I had the weapons these guys had offensively I'd be stay to it's what got him this point it's why they have the lead here in the fourth quarter take some shots when those opportunities present themselves using him out of the slot he has just been Unstoppable and I love putting Dynamic athletes in the slot that I can move around that I can put in motion that I can I can make him go in or out I can put him off the ball so you can't get hands on him and they've really featured this guy today you know it's he's going to pass grab behind the line it's Brown I love an offense that wants to stay aggressive even when you've got the lead late in a game like this right you still try to find your Playmakers and get them the ball in space that is exactly what this offense is doing that completion leaves us with second and [Applause] medium they go to the draw able to work it to the 39 yd line and that'll be a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs when the offense can run the football and you can feature a guy like this that will get more yards block that you can really depend on hangs on to the football like it makes offense super easy especially down the stretch when you want to eat that EAS the give to the tail back got enough for the first down and once more oh what a big play for this offense as they get it to the 33 yd line well the defense didn't Blitz they didn't have everybody in gaps and the offensive line took advantage at the point of attack getting some push opening up a hole and the offense ripping off a nice run there and with that sometimes it's just not your day things just didn't work and that seemed to be the case here yeah they they didn't get the W they didn't do enough uh but now you start to think about what could I have done differently what do I need to become more offensiv defensively what can I morph into to make those extra plays Jesse that might be the difference in the next game that I play yeah David they just need a little bit more they need a little bit better effort next week they're going to need better preparation this week in practice there's no doubt this we'll see a squad from the ACC the Virginia Tech hok taking on a squad hoping to prevent another L this week the Old Dominion monarchs glad to have you with us for EA Sports college football [Applause] [Applause] Davis and off from the shotgun finding a way to put that foot in the ground and get it up to the 37 yd line and the monarchs racing to the line in the hurry up he'll pull it on the re and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that play able to wedge it back to the line of scrimmage they want to get this defense on its heels they'll try to bully their way for the first just outstanding vision from The Young freshman on that one the monarchs getting set on First and 10 they going to ride this running back Powers through the defender that's about as close as you can get get to that marker and it will be off play action throws to the tight end got it in the middle it's buffler gets it all the way down to the 39 yd line it'll be a first down [Applause] Wilson will throw unloads to the wide out that pass is incomplete they couldn't connect on second down now staring at a third and nine from the gun wants to pass didn't have anything working and just had to throw it away on third down nice job by the defense they're mixing up their look there power football with the Run not much doing there he gets it to the 26 a gain of one didn't get much on first down it's second and nine they're going to test the right side with this one he's there to make the stop they're going to keep this drive going they'll have to make a play on Third and long from the 26 getting some heat he took a hit as he FW it and couldn't deliver the football it's incomplete and fourth Down's coming QB and receivers on third [Applause] from the gun the ground game they'll rip off eight on that play it's second and two went to the running game on first down now here they come again and they got him for the sack they' made third down defens a key it'll be tested on Third and long from the 28 from the gun wants to pass he's taking the shot oh and he gets down field for the Big Catch and they were looking for a chunk play and they got it the explosive picks up more than 30 how great is it to have a running back who can basically run your entire route tree you don't see a lot of guys line up and then run vertically down the field get open and make a big play this dude special [Applause] and he'll put the tight end in motion first play from scrimmage and they'll keep it on the ground and excellent Vision to find running R there and make a really good pick up before the defense put a stop to it they'll ride the hot hand gets it past to marker they stop him at the 42 but they get it across Midfield pick up 10 and the first down Wilson to pass unloads to the right and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on they'll run it from the gun a 6yd pickup that leaves him with third and four and the monarchs in the hurry up in the gun and looking to throw on third down catch in the middle it's Williams they'll pick up enough yardage for the first down they got it at the 30 really nice job there by the quarterback [Applause] they'll try the counter nice move to stay on his feet found enough room to get it into enemy territory there down at the 43 yd line David how demoralizing does it have to be for a defense when you know they're going to run it everyone in the stadium knows they're going to run it and still canot stop there's nothing more demoralizing of defensive Lin because [Applause] they're looking for an advantage to the right didn't get much on first down it's second and nine from the gun they'll give it on the inside little bit of Running Room as he picks up four and gets it out to the so third and short from inside the 20 you convert here and this drive takes on a different complexion and they did not let him get to that first down line it'll bring up a call [Applause] here here's the handoff defense there to stop him after a two- yd gain to the 31 picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playlist he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one and trying to put points on the board on third down now they're staring at [Applause] going up top on first down makes the grab over the middle makes a catch and knock down after the short completion it's now second down he'll do it himself shakes off a tackle he rolls all the way down the five Y Line before they finally get him stopped so this offense has the lead they have the ball they have the clock on their side and a chance perhaps to put it Out Of Reach they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one they lost ground on first down now second and goal from the five they're trying to go option and they're trying to put that defensive end in bind but he's just way too athletic and he guessed right the quarterback was keeping the ball they'll crank up this drive with the pass it's complete and they'll spot it at the 38 and that'll be plenty for the first down Wilson will throw fires to the right it's caught down field boy did he looked as if he was going to go gets it down to the 37 and there was no [Applause] question looking to go up top on first down now one falls out of bounds incomplete this offense has got to find a way to get some gims some layups some some screens they need some Yak some yards after the catch they got to find some guys that can make some plays for this offense cuz it's just Boomer bust there's not a lot of consistency they got to put some first downs together it came down to the final quarter clutch plays guys delivered and they get the close win yeah Reese Big Time Players make big plays in big games and that's what happened in this circumstance as a coaching staff David you love this you know that you have confidence in your guys to go out and be able to execute when it matters the most correct and you don't know until the games right you don't know when those moments present themselves how are they going to handle a great job handling a close game executing down the stretch like they needed Scarlet Knights taking on a team from the ACC the Virginia Tech Hoke for EA Sports college football I'm reys Davis David poock and Jesse Palmer with me guys it's time to get it going they go to the ground he make the stop after a gain of three to the 31 this crowd going to try to make life miserable for these guys one of the offshoots of expansion particularly in the Big 10 was how viable could the ACC remain and it just sort of ramps up the stakes when they meet on the field yeah I think all of this conference realignment all the money talk the loss of rivalries there but it's the Hales and the Have Nots and and let's be honest the SEC in the Big 10 are the big two gorillas right anytime you can make a statement andent these two big Powerhouse conferences go do it I think the ACC 2 is going to play with a chip on his shoulder back in conference realignment it was the best four program from the Pack 12 that ult the give out of the gun and he was able to get away from one tackle but plenty of help was on the way decent up on that play the big pick up on first down leaves him with second and one the give on the inside they get him on the ground after he gets enough to move the sticks they've got it at the 37 it's first and 10 he's looking to throw it they're bringing Heat hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and it never had a chance second and 10 after the the previous play he's looking to throw fires left wide open down field and he was loose and in the open field the give to the running back from the shotgun good solid run on that one as he gets it up to the 33 yd line eight- yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and short he'll keep it himself draged down to the turf but not before getting the first down the give to the bat good pick up there as he gets the first down and they'll Mark him at the 48 that has got to be demoralizing if you're on defense because they just ran the ball right up the middle down your throats and they gashed you now they're going to throw it finds his man it's long carrying the ball with Attitude down to the 42 movement here from the tight end the run from the shotgun gets it past the first down marker and still running and they'll finally shove him out of bounds after a strong run and the Scarlet Knights have it with a first and 10 to the ground he's got it again not a lot there picks up one inside the 20 to the 19 I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous and the the defense did a good job getting him down there but they got to do a great job gang tackling because this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground cover pick up the first he's going to look for a man on Third and short quick strike complete defense is there to make the stop but he's got the first down and they'll have it first and goal at the six motion from the offense receiver on the Move gets the touch pass touchdown reers and they'll put that scoreboard up leaves it with the running back crosses the 30 to the 31 A6 yd gain got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four on the run it's Monaga finds his way for three out to the 33 Debs Rising as the crowd behind this defense on third down touch pass on the Jet Sweep he'll be stopped short picks up one but they're facing fourth and one well and on these little push passes timing is so important you're trying to they'll throw it on first down caught close to the marker it's Miller up near the 40 yd line they'll mark it at the 39 a pick up of 15 trying to find his man on first down got his man on the right they'll get him down but not before he crosses the 50 out of the gun the inside K tackle is made at the 28 after a pick up of three after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven using the quick game and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain if every Journey begins with a step this offense needs to step into a third down conversion and then try to turn it into some scores and fast and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down doing a third and short like that you just have to have great chemistry now they'll try the right side can't get him to the ground got behind those pads and picked up three out to the 35 got three on first down it's second and seven wide out in motion on second down just keeps firing and he was hit just as he was releasing the pass and it falls to the ground incomplete a third and long coming up here trying play action throws to the wide out snagged in the middle it's long that'll be enough for the first down as they stop him at the 43 yd line his offense lines up feeling offly good after that big play quarterback flips itead quickly to the receiver discards a man and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one makes the quick grab they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down second down coming [Applause] up he's looking to throw he looks that one in nicely good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch running behind that left side he breaks a tackle still on his feet at the 45 and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up to the ground with the back here is trying to fle the muscle they get him down at the 34 after a pick up of four third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doy if they can pull it off oh they really could have used that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down looking for a crease it's Monaga One Step WRA twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground after picking up a couple it's second and eight they'll run it out of the shotgun at the 45 on his way got a lot of room to the right and he'll take it to the house he got loose touchdown Scarlet KN number I love the execution on that play great blocking up front just to get the ball carrier an opportunity in the second level of the defense and then at that point it was make a guy Miss and use the speed that was a perfectly executed play from the gun the running back tries to hit the hole not much movement there it's a gain of one gets him out to the five no question they wanted to get the ball to their Playmakers and both receivers have come up big through three the Roar of the crowd trying to fuel this defense to keep them pinned in their own end give to the running back BS some space and crosses the 10 out through the 11 it's a pick up of six third and short they've got them back up inside the 20 and the D can get the ball back here they'll try to run for it and he picked up the first down but he will remember the price he paid after that hit the Scarlet Knights have it with a first and 10 and I just love when guys know exactly where the sticks are you could tell fires the pass intercepted he didn't get a lot on the return but man he set his offense up at the 30 man that is how you get it done as a defense when you're playing cover one like you got the middle of the field safety but everybody else is panning up nice job running pulled and fired complete he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down after trying the running game let's see if they do it again on second down he to throw caught over the middle it's long and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down fresh set of downs after the completion he'll come out throwing on first down it's complete on the right side and he's able to shed one tackle and gets a pretty good pick up LS to throw on first down fires to the rights it in quick timeout called by the offense after the play trying to preserve every minute possible comes out throwing on first down snares it outside it's long he's just winning that match up in the slot every time and when you put him in the slot R he's closer to the quarterback it's an easier throw we can run in we can run out and really take advantage of his versatility with a guy that slot position better find theplug here comes the noise backing this defense on third down from the gun wants to pass fires to the wide out how about the foot down on that throw for the winning can become a habit now they've won backto back games and probably building a little confidence from and you want it to be a habit that's what you talk about as a coach week after week let's build let's create momentum and continue to build on it continue and then you look up at the end of the season you never know where you could be what dreams you could bring to reality at the end of the day I think good teams find ways to win games and over these last two games it hasn't always been easy they've had to overcome diversity but at the end of the day they were able to step up make the plays necessary and do that very very impressive a lifetime as we'll see a squad from the ACC the Virginia Tech Hoke taking on the 18th ranked team in the land the Miami Hurricanes for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jet running back searching for a hole into the pile maybe got one he stopped at the 21 he didn't get much on first down it's second and [Applause] nine looking for a physical attack from the gun hard running there just a Savvy veteran productive run from this junior with the first down they'll put it in play from the 33 that's a nice looking run man and what a legacy here when you think about edrian James and Frank Gore Willis m Clinton CIS game Breakers at the running back position this guy he seems like he's destined to play on Sunday last time these two got together [Applause] [Applause] he leaves it with his back good pick up on the ground and they'll Mark him down at the 39 I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points 6yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four takes a hand off and he's going right runs through the tackle and he is right out of ble as they go backwards there and just avoided the contact [Applause] running to the left not much doing there he gets it to the 26 a gain of one and sticking to the run I tell you what a lot of teams that are really good are really St and they continue to run the football even with little success so this offense is going to continue to focus on running the football you can tell and it'll be in complete this is some physical pass defense that's a ball that this off should be a to complete they had the coverage they wanted receiver ran on the route just an inaccurate throw by the quarterback looking to throw it's Ward fires to the tight end and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down he just didn't have a [Applause] keeping it on the ground with the single back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one I love this linebacker because he's able to dissect what's happening in front of him and he reacts downhill uses his speed to get to the line of scrimmage and create the negative play looking to throw on second down grabbed in the back field it's Martinez and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there he has been in seab ball get ball mode all day and he is making his Mark in this rivalry game guys I'll tell you he was sick and tired of reading about and hearing about the offenses coming into this one this guy had his own designs and his own plans he has been balling David all over the field and it's so fun a rival where game you have so much emotion so much passion well guess what you can let that out on defense and defense you can fly around make plays and he's been doing it looking to move it through the air grabbed over the middle it's a royal a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half on second down he's looking down field it's caught and he'll ramble to the 34 before he's finally knocked down here's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half not the most productive half for this offense so far but finally starting to get it in gear first and 10 and that's a mistake you don't expect to see from a senior and he is lucky to get it back you always want to give your Big Time Players a chance that might have been too much of a chance to give right there and I know I'll give you a chance when it's one onone but not two on you got to see that got to understand that they're trying to take away this guy there's a reason they're trying to take him [Applause] job they'll keep it on the ground and this one will be stopped for No Gain everybody talks about DBS they talk about dropping coverage and not being physical that DB begs to differ great tackle coming up playing physical like a linebacker the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the D they'll Run play action got it in the middle it's rreo to the 43 yd line and a first down for this offense here's this offense with a fresh set of downs you get a guy who can do that on the outside and is sort of in the DNA of Miami's program yeah just speed those are guys that put fear those are the track stars the sunshine state produces so many of them those guys can absolutely fly after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven the give to the left side they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one you just got to wonder how frustrated this guy is especially after the success he had their last game out but just nothing going in this one he has not been able to get himself into a rhythm there have been way too much penetration up front defensively they have been able to stop him in his tracks makes the grab inside the 30 T touchdown K [Applause] and off the play fake fires into the end zone and the ball ised off and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the pick that's the advantage right there of having your dime Personnel on the field you got an extra DB you got an extra guy out there who's really good at covering so for quarterbacks you got to be so good and precise with these passes because they've got speed in the back end they're able to come away with a pick [Applause] they'll turn to Martinez Forge is ahead picks up about three to the 29 small game I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the football he's willing to run the football not just drop back and pass make him on to the Run game you got to do a lot of this makes the catch it's George they make stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker passing game very effective on second down what about here on Third and that's incomplete a Defender all over him knocked the ball to the ground fourth down coming up and this isuse the fake now to throw and the ball is intercepted and they'll close in on him after a good return on the interception it doesn't get any better for your defense you know exactly the situation in the fourth quarter everything in your favor don't let him make big plays how about you make a big play nice job getting the interception it's not icing on the cake yet but it's getting pretty close [Applause] [Applause] looking to throw it's Ward and this will be incomplete a big hit there forces second down it's a nice adjustment by the defense here with a big lead in the game you're putting extra DBS on the field knowing the off has to throw to get back in this one in the fourth quarter so your best cover guys on the field and they force an incompletion on the last one got his man to the left and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains now from the 36 yd line it's first and 10 he wants to throw looking to the big tight end what a job to lay out and make the catch this defense better not blink I know they've got a lead here in the fourth quar but just look at who they're going against this quarterback is one of the best in the nation they cannot rest on their Laurels someone's going to have to make a play and the hurricanes have it with a first and 10 the aerial assault continues grabbed in the middle it's rreo chopping up this defense and they've got it all the way down to the 23 let's I know a lot of lot of people thought this was going to be a blowout but this team said just when you think you have all the answers I change the questions it's so true reys I mean they had a lot of dudes that we were talking to leading up to this game just had a chip on their shoulder they just didn't feel like they were being respected and they wanted to come out and they wanted to prove a point in David they did exactly just that and it's so much easier to be the underdog it's so much easier to coach that team and you go hey they're ranked everybody's talking about them you don't chance it just builds all that momentum all that hate and you just pour it out on the field that's going to do it for us for night cap after a day of wall toall football it just seems this is when chaos ensues as we'll see the winners of three straight the Virginia Tech Hokies taking on a squad hoping to prevent another L this week the Stanford Cardinal e sports college [Applause] football from the gun running back gets the give and he's a real no where man tackled in this no gain land you know when you get off to a tough start in conference play like these guys have sometimes the temptation just to try to get through it play off the string how can they turn it around well they just need to put a game together in all three phases for four quarters and they haven't been able to do that yet this year especially David when they've gotten an ACC play yeah and they've struggled um it's not the start they wanted but what a coaches talking about like when you get some adversity how are you going to respond and how do we finish the second half of the season so we can build on it for the future it's not pretty it's not fun uh but let's finish strong throughout this conference play Stanford gets set to snap it on first [Applause] down give to the single back that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle and those physical runs take a toll it might not be a big game now but down the road third fourth quarter late in the ball games they tend to turn into bigger runs grab near the marker it's I they'll get it to the 48 no need to measure it first down this Stanford offense moving quickly down the field they'll go to the ground makes it past the marker really nice run there good solid pickup and they'll move the sticks with a first down first [Applause] down and the defense finally makes the stop after the sweet run and good gain all right well look I know the defense was feeling real good about their run de coming into this one and how they've been playing up to this point but finally David the offense breaks through and they finally generate something positive on the ground and I can't tell you how easy it is when you're going to throw the ball consistently and I know it I'm going to I'm going to to the quarterback it makes life really easy on the defensive line but when you can have balance now the defense doesn't know what's coming they need more this if they're going to be successful at offense coaches always harp about staying a leaves it with the back continuing to turn and move it forward and they're closing in on Midfield it's down at the 48 got eight on first down now looking at a second and two the play action fake unloads to the wide out he's got it big play for this offense as they get it to the 32 this offense absolutely humming as they come to the line again they'll try the run defense there to make the stop after a pick up of two to the 30 and the defense doing a great job committing to single back formation and they give it to it he almost punched it in for six they'll get him [Applause] to the air on first down just flying through the air like a superhero to make the grab they've got it at the 37 it's first and 10 on the move it's Daniels quickly complete and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that defense came into this one prepared for these quick receiver screen passes nice job beating blocks at the point of attack and ring to the football and it'll be incomplete this defense is physical and pass deep they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here back to the air one more time quickly to the tie end always nice to have that secur [Applause] they'll open the second half with a run shakes off the defender and he didn't squeeze it it's loose defense swarming on that loose ball it'll be a turnover and that's why you hustle to the football so many give to the back it's really frustrating when you get a guy in a spot he's in the hole he's there to do his job and he can't get the guy on the ground that's your job get him on the ground you know especially a guy that's not a huge back you got to make that tackle you can't make it easy on the offense where now they got a a manageable situation got his and there was of space as he gets it to the 39 yd Line This offense is like running a Perfection drill in practice against air chunk play after chunk play and here they come again got the first down and more knocked down at the 24 yd line but it's a big [Applause] game he's looking for a man on second down zings it complete to the right they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground cover to pick up the First on Third and short they'll ride the running back here the stop is made but this offense is threatening [Applause] he's going to pass fires to the big fella and that is good versitility there and a big hit from the backer in pass coverage trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second down now the play fake under heavy pressure lets it Fly he makes the catch all kinds of Running Room touchdown Stanford [Applause] wide receiver coming across in motion from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back they get him down but not before he picks up five down to the 17 yd line halfway there on first down it's second and five looking downfield it's Daniels they're setting up the screen didn't have much room to run and not a whole lot of well some might think this head coach has a tough locker room speech after this one [Music] nestled in the hills of Virginia we are touching the Hokey Stone means remembering the Legends who formed the foundation of a power names like Vic and Beamer and a lunch pale mentality that applies to the Virginia Tech hokes we believe we've got a great one in store today and we've got a team that makes it into the top 25 now when you go on the road that's when you prove you belong as we'll see a team fresh and ready to go off of by week the Boston College Eagles taking on a team recharged after a much needed by week the Virginia Tech hok out of the gun to give to the back good pick up on the ground and they'll Mark him down at the 39 Boston College right back to the line sometimes people say if you're good enough what's the big deal about going on the road well if you're not careful you might find out in a spot like this one guys yeah no doubt about it this is a hostile environment and you know you're going to be getting the opponent aame for this all off SE so they better be ready to bring it today there and the hardest thing to do in college football is to go on the road everything about it changes you want to shut this crowd up early you don't want to give them belief cuz if it starts to build throughout the game quick touch pass to the receiver he's brought down but he went backwards after that completion not the way they had it drawn up didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second 11 they're trying to slow that Rush down with the draw and he doesn't find much Running Room a short gain on the play looking down field it's castios quarterback moving out of the pocket bu through behind his pan they make the stop but what a job on the scramble to get loose and pick up that the give to the back not much working there it'll be second and nine when with the running game on first down now back at it they'll leave it with him really nice stop there from this senior leader if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum now they'll run the [Applause] and the defense is swarming to keep him from getting to the first down from the gun give on the inside stopped at the 25 after a 5yd gain halfway there dra on first down it's second and five out of the shotgun they go to the ground tackle was made but not until he gets the first down a lot of urgency for this offense they'll give it to the back they stop him Co maybe gets a yard to the 34 didn't get much on first down it's second and nine softened him up with a run and now to throw got his and quickly and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up passing game very effective on second down what about here on third from the gun wants to pass catch in the middle it's b a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first down well look that wasn't a from the gun they'll try the middle and they try to run inside and there is nowhere to go Boston College wants to play Fast the give to the right they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one that linebacker saw the express lane right to the ball carry and a great great job by the defensive line getting some push making them use their resources on him line comes free making the back field for tackle for they come to the line facing third and long from the 25 scanning the field it's casos and they wanted it all on third down but now dealing with fourth down that's why it's so important here's a quick throw out to the left great move now he's got room and this offense is feeling it as they rip off a big chunk of yardage and they got it on the 22 off the play fake on first down wants to throw a strike down field and the explosiveness the big Gainer gets it to the 49 yd line and I really like when offenses attack over the middle of the field between the linebackers and the safeties there's usually a soft area that you can usually have some success and really nice job by this offense taking advantage of those areas well the QB looked like he knew where he wanted to go with that football but give the defense credit they were able to swap that one away using his legs it's roacho nice gain of six leaving them with third and four trying to pick up a first down takes it from the gun on third down he's got an open man and they'll finally bring him down after he rips off a they'll try to pick up the first through the air that pass is well off Target he got hit as he was trying to from the gun running back on the move didn't get much on first down it's second and nine to the air it's castios finds a tight end they make the stop but the sweet throwing catches plenty to give him a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs that throw and catch a really good example of why coaches don't want a quarterback to get stuck on a particular Target isn't it dve yep that's exactly right find coming out on first down with the play fake complete down field they stay aggressive and push their way out to the 33 and it's first down Boston College right back to the line when you're a defense you have a choice do you play man or do you play zone they sat Backes but now it's picked off and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception and the senior just took that one out of the air and sends it the other way well the defense comes away with the pick there with their nickel Personnel I think moving forward if you're on offense you see that Personnel on the field you want to run the ball against it because you got smaller guys out there going with the counter play here drag down after a pick up of five out to the 35 halfway there on first down it's second and five he'll run it again good pick up on the ground and they'll Mark him down at the 39 after the last run would you just give it to him again on third down throws to the wide out oh what a grab by the defense didn't get a ton on the return but the most important thing he got the ball and they've got it at the 4 it's so nice wants to pass it that play just never had a chance they knock him down for a loss of five so now they're staring at a second and long from their 20 dropping back it's castios he's going for it all and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge easy on fourth down they'll try to throw it it's incomplete and they desperately needed to keep that drive going and they couldn't make the [Applause] conne grab behind the line it's B he is stopped behind the line of scrimmage they'll lose yards on that one we're trying to throw the screen out to the receiver the defense though having none of that they are just too physical they're too fast they force a negative play you make up the game plan and not a lot long from inside their own 20 from the gun wants to pass got it in the middle it's B excellent job working through the air there finding a hole in that deep well how about this one a fun one these guys came in as underdogs and they walk out as the winner they didn't care they were unranked that's not what they were worried about oh this team's rank they weren't looking at any different they were looking to come in and get the W on that last one they need eight on second down dropping back it's King he makes the connection and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few these are the types of plays where offenses impose their will third and short from the 45 from the gun wants to pass complete and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup the yellow jackets come to the line with a new set of downs it's tough on the defense there third down you're in zone coverage everybody's watching the quarterback and you're trying to make a break on the ball but he just got it out of his hands too quickly and the throw was too accurate really [Applause] nothing on third and long he has to throw for it quickly out to the tight end and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to power football with the Run and knock him down after he picks up five out to the 34 halfway there on first down it's second and [Applause] five he's looking to throw and the pass is intercepted never had a chance to get rolling after the pick but he gives him the ball in field position at the 40 I love the job by the coaching staff there defensively matching the Personnel of the offense putting their dime package out on the field so you bring out the extra defensive back you're anticipating a pass perfect timing to run that personnel and you get the pck looking for a gap it's Hayes at the 35 hit the afterburners kid and what a huge chunk play for this offense just exactly what you need to move the ball down the field you cannot let that happen to you defensively that is the definition of getting gash they didn't have one guy in their front seven you can get a finger on that oh he drops the football he had him right down the the off the play fake on first down to throw fires and picked off he'll try he smashes his way through again and he will step out of bounds but what a play to get the ball back for his offense this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision [Music] all kinds of room to throw that one in there he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see what the call is the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty here comes the offense on first down wide receiver now comes in motion out of the gun the running back has it got behind those pads and picked up three out to the 35 and the running back didn't get much there nice job by the def you tell they're focused in on this running back on this run game being physical getting knockbacks and limiting his carries got the Quick Pass and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one we had a barn burner the last time [Applause] out of the shoot quick toss to the right he is going nowhere sto at the line of scrimmage nice job defense you always hear people talk about tackling the catch you saw it right there there was nowhere for that receiver to go once he had possession as a result no game defense there to stop him after a gain of one to the 22 [Applause] back to throw it's Kane looking to the end zone and he's got trying to start the drive with a pass that's reeled in it's Singleton makes the stop at the 49 but not before he gets him plus territory gets 15 and a first down used the play fake now to throw quarterback just flat miss it incomplete didn't connect last time let's see if they throw it again on second down they'll go to the air find his big tight end and that was some kind of collision between a couple of big bodies there and he stopped from getting the first down they'll go to the air on Third and short it's complete to the right across the 25 he's got R touchdown yellow jackets and they add six more [Applause] here's the hand off and he does a really nice job finding open space and making a good gain before the stop is made they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three and the defense holds firm no pickup at all that play when running back has had as much success as this guy's had so far listen defense has got a quue in they got a qu in to him he's priority number one number two and number three that's a good start to maybe turning this defensive effort around he's brought down but not before they pick up the big first down fast motion from the offense they'll throw it on first down unloads to the right makes a connection just gashing this defense a big gain to the 40 yd line and the yellow jackets come to the line in the hurry up and the quarterback knew exactly where he wanted to go the football had time spins the ball deep nice job by this understanding what the defense is giving him and create an explosive play the yellow jackets have pushed it inside the 20 using his legs it's haes and he'll pick up one it brings up second and [Applause] [Applause] nine from gun the running back has it got the first down and still on his feet oh look out he'll be down at the clash in storm today a couple of teams getting set to square off in an ACC battle as we'll see the Virginia Tech pokies working on a squad hoping to prevent another L this week the Syracuse Orange for EA Sports college football Rees Davis with you alongside David poock and Jesse Palmer time to get this game started easy from the gun the running back looking for room good solid run on that one as he gets it up to the 33 yd line eight- yd pickup on first down leaves them with second and short they try to pop a run on the draw he's got enough to give Syracuse the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs on the ground it's Allen turns it on to Midfield finally run out of bounds but he has his offense rolling with a first down Syracuse right back at it I think it's really important for this offense they get this guy going early in the game and they're doing a nice job of that right now remember he's the kind of running back who gets better as the game goes on that's a back to pass it's mcco got his Man Down field ripping through the defense and he was on his way gets it all the way to the 38 he wants to start this drive with a pass catch in the middle it's Peña they stop him just a link or two short of the first and man what they can do on second down here great job by the offense being patient understanding when they're in zone coverage I got to got a lot of running room at the 20 and he's sprinting he'll take it all the way wide receiver shows motion touch pass on the [Applause] Rock they'll wrestling down just short of the first down I don't even think they're going to bring out the change to measure this week and that would be the definition of first down success putting yourself in a good position it's second and inches I can do whatever I want next I can take a shot down the field I can run the football and get a new set of downs like nice first down execution he got a bunch and look close to getting a lot more but he's got the first down right back to the well and he finds Some solid space makes a nice game before the defense is able to stop him good spot after that seven yd pickup on first down it's second and three they'll try it over the left up there before the defense is able to make the stop halfway there on first down it's second and five back to pass it's Court yeah another good run I feel like we can put that on loot Jess just another good run another good R another good run over 150 yards on the day he's been the complete package showing off all his skills today he's got enough to give Syracuse the first down here's his offense with a fresh set of downs off the play fake on first down a shot toward the end zone and it's touchdown Syracuse quarterback's [Applause] CL trying to make that Rush think on the draw play here and it's a first down and they'll mark it at the 44 offense quick Tempo man this guy's a playmaker and he does not need a lot of space really nice job that time letting the pass rush get up field so when he got the football there was just green grass out ahead of him and he made the defense back and when I got a guy like that man I just got to find ways to get him past the D line right and then the draw play is a good way to do it let them run themselves up the field then you can see he's got some serious speed a lot of in space is always a good recipe for offense the GI to the back not much working there it'll be second and nine Syracuse right back at it out of the gun they'll run it inside and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick [Applause] up we have arrived at the two-minute warning a one possession game as this offense tries to hold on SP to give as they work on that clock and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play if they can pick up a yard work his way up to the 42 nyd pickup on first down and now they can take a shot on second and short going to run it it's mafa and he's to the 48 yd line that'll be good enough for a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs they'll go to the counter he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 leaves it with the running back still on his feet at the 45 and he found plenty of Running Room on that one before the defense was finally able to get him down it's a thing at Clemson to run downhill literally usually when they enter the stadium but sometimes it feels like this running game's doing that they run down the hill and and a lot of times back to throw it's cnick finds his tight end and he might be known for run pits but that was a sure and heavy tackle on the tight end set up for second and short after that completion they'll test the right side poers through what a good run there he has enough for the first down defense is going to have their handsful trying to get this guy they'll come out on this drive and let it rip and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball after the quarterback and receiver couldn't connect it's second and 10 quarterback on the keeper got enough for the first they've got it to the 49 yd line and they'll move the chains really nice run when they've got him looking run now to pass touchdown tigers and they made it to the house where they found that six points waiting on them field shrinks tight end grows big targets big results I've never heard it put that way but you're dang right that guy is so big a lot of times you get a DB matched up on him he can just post him up a linebacker he can run by him so that's why these tight ends are so dangerous down here in this red zone off the play fake on first down to throw not quite in Rhythm there incomplete in the last couple weeks man you're getting a lot of consistency from this QB and you got to love it as a play caller man you can drop him back you can throw the ball a ton you can trust him getting the ball at different wide receivers he's really in a good Gro the last couple games and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that play able to Wed back to the line of scrimmage let's see what they find in the playbook for third and long from the 43 looking for a man it's clck wide open downfield and they explode on that one and they've got it down to the 2 out of the gun the inside hand off looking for a crease they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one they thought maybe they could get the defense blowing the wrong way on the counter but they were not fool get them flowing one way and then maybe hit that outside on the other side right but they didn't even let it get outside they kept it right in the middle of the field did a great job seeing it going and getting it being aggressive you got to find a different way maybe to attack these guys to use their speed against them finds his man it's MAA up near the 40 yd line they'll mark it at the 39 a pick up of 15 we' reached the two-minute warning and we'll see if the offense can build on this lead before the break they'll snap it from the 39 first and 10 he's looking to throw it lost one deep down the right side he's got it downfield for a huge game and he takes it all the way they couldn't stop him touchdown Clemson this dude is putting on a show taking up residents in The End Zone by the air and by the ground in keeping with what Clemson looks for four and a quarterback man this [Applause] is they'll leave it with the lone back these little gains can start to add up as he gets it up to the 34 one more snap coming before juice boxes and orange slices to the air it's KCK gets it out fast he'll be brought down and that's the final play of the half and he just continues to put up numbers and that number is now over 300 this guy just throws completions man the ball doesn't seem to touch the ground he's back there he's making the right reads right now he is locked into what this defense is trying to do [Music] ready 3 25 they'll run the RPO and throw it right and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few a great job by the defense seeing it right away reacting to the screen going and getting the football and getting the fast playmaker on the ground a three yd pickup gets it out to the 28 it's second and seven going to run it it's mafa is that stiff arm even a human arm it looks like some type of Steel budgeting device on his way to a first down well on offense you have got to love the way your offensive line is playing in this game they're getting tremendous movement Up Front Climbing in the second level and really giving these backs and ball carriers a lot of room to run all game long creating some space getting just enough good blocking and they've got it up to the 47 yd line offense gets set for second down off play action he finds his man put it right on him sweet play good pick up and they'll move the change with the first down this Clemson offense moving quickly down the [Applause] field looking to throw it's clck gets it out quickly how about this backer in pass coverage going up top on first down short throw to the sideline picks up just a little and he'll run across the sidelines after the good gain picked up some yardage with that completion now second down he's looking to snagged in the middle it's Bing stol and he laid the lumber to stopped him from getting the first down let's see what they do on third down he'll PLL it on the re he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a looking to throw on Third and the defense will Coral the quarterback and down he goes at Midfield looking for space it's mafa very useful run there to get away from the goal line he'll pick up four out to the six after the productive first down play it's second and six he's looking to throw and that pass picked off and it's going to be a pick six touchdown verginia T you've got to be so careful as a quarterback thrown over the middle field with this linebacker he is from the gun they'll try to impose their running game still running at the 40 they'll get him on the ground at the 46 and it'll be a first down Clemson is quick to the line one of the things I love about this offense re is they have tons of speed they like to try to get the ball going east west that time they generate a huge play going to the right side and the defense either not fast enough to fit or got knocked out of the fit yeah they got to do a better [Applause] job they'll stick to the ground looking for the marker what a N1 there to pick up the first down the Tigers come to the line with a fresh set of downs they'll run it it's mafa and he broke one tackle on the way to a solid pick up there going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down the run to the right not much Running Room he's got one down to the 12 HS and fires complete and they finally haul him down but not before the good catch and run now a first down from the 45 yd line let not over things my guy is better than all of your guys no matter how I give it to him I'm going to keep feeding that's over 150 off play action on first down and they couldn't hold off the heat and he goes down with the sack the defense just simply not fooled by the play action often times an offense you're hoping the Run fake is going to slow down those pass rushers but man oh man they had their ears pinned back not a lot going on there picked up [Applause] three consecutive L's a hat trick of losses and as a result you can take their hat out of the ring for most of their goals yep most of their goals are done and listen I I don't know what they do really well this is bad welcome to Wallace Wade Stadium on the campus of Duke University and customarily a trip here involves a journey to kaville instead you will be engulfed by the Wade wackos the Duke fans ready for their Blue Devils to go to work and while today is the final home game of the season for one team it is more importantly a celebration senior day as we'll see a team coming off a crucial by week the virgin Tech po taking on [Applause] a they'll ride the running back and leave it with him these little gains can start to add up as he gets it up to the 34 after the nyd pickup on first down here's second and one trying play action unloads it left he's got it and the big gain and they've got it on the 46 tell you what that's great execution between the QB and receiver they looked like they could execute that throw in their sleep quarterback took his steps threw it on time great route by the receiver nice job securing the catch you'll take this every time five yards on the first down play I know that wasn't a huge sexy gain I know not everybody's jumping up and down but what it does do is puts you in a great position to succeed on second down second and 10 really hard third and 10 really hard now you're in a manageable situation it really gives you the whole play and he's all to that first down marker there saying he's a little bit short they might want to bring out the sticks and measure but it looks as if he'll be just short of the first down wants to throw on third down caught over the middle it's Harvey just what they hoped for on third [Applause] [Music] [Applause] down to the ground with the back finds enough room to get three out to the 34 yeah and the running back didn't get much here but you know you clearly want to always establish the Tipo run the football assistant make that defense physically Meet The Challenge on the run it's Murphy good timing on the quick out you know this sophomore has a big arm and there were some revolutions on that one when you're a playmake they move the tight end all over he'll do it himself he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one really really nice football play man I got to understand option football I got to play my responsibility make sure that I know what I'm doing look at the linebacker great job doing that staying patient getting to the quarterback making the big T just beautiful [Applause] and find man on the left they pick up half of it it'll be second and five my old coach said you'll never go broke taking a profit take what's there take the positive yards and never complain motion from the offense on second down wants to throw it fires toward the end zone and that's going to be incomplete going for broke on second down but third Down's coming up we'll see if they go back to the air after the incompletion it's third and five gives it to the back on the draw at the 45 on his way defense caught out of position and they [Applause] [Applause] down looking to go up top on first down caught behind the line it's more and this one will be stopped for No Gain this offense has a second down play he's looking to throw he's got his man and how about that catch and run so dangerous this guy from the 44 yd line the offense snaps it on first down back to throw it's Murphy quick strike complete he make the stop at the 33 but 10 y [Applause] using the quick game and that will go backwards a negative play in that defense on high alert that time didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 caught in the back field it's Harvey they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down in the dead center of the field as they try to convert this third and short from the gun wants to pass fires to the big fella slips one guy now he's loose now they're really starting to threaten as they pick up the first down at the 34 yd line the Blue Devils come to the line with a new set of downs if the quarterback's a little more On Target there maybe they hook up but it's an incompletion ball still spotted at the 34 it's second and 10 it's a draw got enough for the first and he's still going and he's brought down after a nice gain and listen if it ain't broke don't fix it turn keeping it on the ground on Third and goal touchdown dke [Applause] wide out in motion they'll throw it on first down got it behind the line it's Harvey and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pick up the completion short of the sticks it's second down he's looking to throw quick completion on the out route he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down and now a fresh set of downs for this offense they've done a really good job creating the matchups they want out of the slot yeah dude get that guy matched up on a linebacker that guy matched up on a safety keep him away from the corners by putting them in the slot get him the football let him make plays quick completion to the right just slithered through the tackle and he's got room to run and this defense has its work cut out [Applause] get out of the gun the inside hand off to the Running Back Drag down after a pick up of five out to the 35 and with that one he's now over three bills for the game and there's two reasons why ree he's made good decisions and he's been accurate throwing the football all game long and he is swarmed under a host of Defenders there to make the stop after the strong run on second down third down coming do they do it again dropping back it's Murphy quickly complete coming through that third down conversion and they'll mark it at the 43 first down here for the [Applause] offense touch pass on the Jet Sweep and he runs through one tackle and picks up a few here comes the offense on second down second yeah and that's a great job by this offense and I tell you what fourth quarter you have the lead that's exactly what you want to do lean on these guys run the football eat that clock well I love play calls that want toay aggressive [Applause] what quarterback touch pass on the Jet Sweep passes sticks in still on his feet nice pick up there gets him the first down and sets him up at the 45 yd line here's this offense with a fresh set of downs hand off from the shotgun they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one they'll run the ball the clock is on their side and a decent gain there before the defense makes the stop halfway there on first down it's second and [Applause] five leaves it with the back that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there and I'm a fan you're going to hear guys after this game say got to work harder got to be more intense you know sometimes the harder you try the worse it nestled in the hills of Virginia we touching the Hokey Stone means remembering the legends who formed the foundation of a power names like Vic and Beamer and a lunch pale mentality that applies to the Virginia Tech hokes as we wind our way toward the end of another college football season one of the Grand Traditions is paying tribute and respect to those who have just poured their souls into the success of this program and honor the seniors on senior day as we'll see a squad from the ACC the Virginia Cavaliers quick pass on the jet motion these little gains can start to add up as he gets it up to the 34 they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three the p and throw off the RPO they get him down at the 49 but not before he picks up 15 you can work your way down the field with these wide receiver screens but also look for the opportunity to turn them into chunk plays lateer no doubt you throw it quickly you get it to him now DB comes up has to make a tackle now you fake it maybe a little bit later on so these plays they're not huge plays all the time but they can set up big plays down the road for your offense and the Cavaliers will line it up on First and 10 he'll just keep slinging it caught in the back field it's Pace he's there to make the Stop and trying to find his man on first down it's complete and he will score touchdown Virginia when you're handed a break with unbelievable field position like that you better finish the deal and they did you saw the quarterback jog on the field I think he gave a high five to every one of those players coming off that just put them in position to go score that touchdown that QB knew this was a golden opportunity and boy he took advantage of it looking to pass it's kandria and the pass rush is effective and they tackle him at the 19 just a great job defensively making him go through his progressions and he really didn't have time to do it and that's exactly what you do in zone coverage you drop in your spots you read the quarterback's eyes make sure you take away that quick stuff and a great job rushing the passer and getting the [Applause] sack they'll try to get it going in the right direction this time second and long from the 19 he's looking to throw makes his connection and they'll knock him down and after giving up that completion guys I wonder if the defense is going to decide to stay in zone or maybe mix things up a little more man coverage maybe Blitz they'll run this play from the pistol they'll run for it on Third and short they'll keep this drive moving by picking up the first down they have it at the 36 been really impressed watching this offense this year and how good they are on third down the reason they're so efficient they don't have penalties they keep these third Downs manageable and they've got a special talent at running back that can find his way to the sticks they've got it at the 36 it's a first and 10 got his man quickly and good coverage by the defense just a short game this rivalry dates back to 1895 the first time they're going to open this drive with a pass got him down field and he gets it up to the 36 it'll be a first down when you run those routes those control routes just like that those DBS are going to break when you go to throw the football so you better put that thing on a line and the QB did there put it on the line great job great catch first [Applause] down line gets set first down to throw it's kandria finds his man in the middle makes the stop at the 49 but not before he gets him plus territory gets 15 and a first down excellent throw by the quarterback found the window between the zones then delivered the ball on [Applause] just nosing into enemy territory at the 49 it's first and 10 the inside handoff got it up for the first open space at the 25 and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked they'll start this drive with a pass and he'll Chuck it into the cheap seats there and save the down nobody getting open there they'll try again on second down after the incompletion from the gun he leaves it with the bat pretty good job of running to get two there to the 32 he'll come out throwing on first down setting up the screen breaks the tackle they make the stop but a good pick up there on first down on second down he'll fire safe completion on the screen and he goes out of bounds after coming up with positive yard gets it out fast he'll get it out to the 25 not bothered at all being backed up and they've got a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs and a big key on that throw to the slot receiver guys is putting the ball out in front the location of the throw is what helped that guy get extra yards after the catch got eight on first down now looking at a second and two they think they can create space here with the run to the right they stop him maybe gets a yard to the 34 coming to the line of scrimmage on third down they'll try to power their way ahead works his way to the 41 and that is plenty to give him a first down this offense has to get from the gun the ground game tackle is made at the 28 after a pick up of three got three on first down it's second and seven the give to the left nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry now facing a third and long easy to the air it's kandria a little screen to the running back defense was not fooled by that scream to the back and they'll stop on the third and long and he'll try to throw for it and they get to the quarterback and knock him down back at the 16 the defense coming up big there and the sack is great but the secondary deserves some credit too no doubt when you can cover like that in the secondary and drop back in your Zone and only Rush a few and you feel comfortable getting home and they're going to get to the qu that is a great feeling and that's fun to be a defensive coordinator calling the play [Applause] [Applause] wants to throw on first down and this will be incomplete a big hit there forces second down and the big tight end a lot of times that's a bigger Strike Zone a bigger dude and you could tell they put the hit on him and that ball came out and it came to the turf nice job playing physical by this defense they'll go back to the air on second down right on target this time they'll move the chains he gets it to the 43 yd line you know tight ends are such matchup nightmares and problems for defense they're too big for DBS to cover and they're too fast for linebackers to cover you saw it right there comes out throwing on first down and that pass is intercepted couldn't find a ton of room on that return but that small change they take over at the 43 and I tell you what when defenses Play Zone All Eyes onun the you have a z drop to but you're setting on the quarterback reading his eyes great job by the defense understanding the ball was coming out breaks on the football goes and makes the in [Music] [Applause] [Applause] give to the running back and how about the work up front by that big defensive line got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 they'll go right back to the run and you can forget running in the middle against this it's hard to run on a defense that comes off the ball like that and runs to the football like that good luck no holes [Applause] in and would they dare be aggressive on third down this deep in their own territory looking for a man it's kandria fires to the wide out a beautifully placed ball to the outside and the tow d for the big pick up this dude is just [Applause] except on Third and long try to convert through the air a strike downfield they get the timeout called with seven seconds left on the clock finally some signs of life from this offense which has done nothing in the second half it's first and 10 looking to move it through the air lets it fly deep down field to the end zone and it's picked [Applause] off it's really easy to get caught up in the emotion of a rivalry game we did and certainly this was a huge win yeah and you started you circled it you were ready for this team this is this is the Rivalry you put a lot of stock in all off season we're talking about this game in particular you go out and get the dub it's a relief because you definitely wanted this team and it's bragging rights for everybody for the coaching staff for the fans but how about for the players as well for another 365 days you can talk about how you went out you dominated and you beat your rival a lot of these guys are going to go on the NFL they'll
