INSTANT REACTION: Alabama Football Blows Out WKU, Kadyn Proctor Injury News, Ryan Williams Is Legit

[Music] what is going on Alabama fans the Crimson Tide beat the absolute crap out of Western Kentucky tonight 63 to nothing a lot of positives I think that you can take out of a game like this there are there were also some things that I think you can nitpick there was some penalties in the first half that I think uh you know just weren't really good like overall to have you had too many guys on the field um on defense one time but I think for the most part most of this game Alabama looked pretty solid to me they were able to get a lot of defensive you know freshman on the field that we've been talking about a lot some offensive you know they got that uh second string offensive line in there which I think was you know a really positive thing for them to be able to do because as we will talk about out here in just a second Kaden Proctor was not in the game today he was in he ended up getting hurt but we'll talk about that more here in just a second but make sure you guys are the day Kaden Proctor was out there during warm-ups and looked fine apparently to you know the Alabama reporters out there for the game but then they go back in the tunnel they come out they run out with the team Kaden Proctor comes out in Street Clos and it seemed like his left shoulder was in a sling but he had kind of had it hidden up under his shirt so um we can only kind you know infer about what was going on there but Kaden Proctor did uh or excuse me kayin abor did talk about Kaden Proctor getting injured it did happen during warm-ups and we're just going to have to find out more tomorrow so we'll probably keep you guys updated on that on a short but Kaden Proctor the guy you thought was going to be your left tackle not in the first game of the season so my five takeaways here will go one by one look I thought defense at the end of the day was just absolutely incredible um so many positive things out of your defense man where do I even start Keon Sab I mean the dude came in and just played absolutely lights out for you two big interceptions in the first half of this game I think both of those came actually in the first quarter for the Crimson Tide and one of them even came you know when Western Kentucky was driving they were getting down there into the red Zone and um you know he was able to put a stop to that to that drive for Western Kentucky I thought you were able I thought you looked pretty good on the defensive line as well um you know man uh Jem Otis Jem Otis this is not the same guy that we've seen the last two years he's slimmed down a little bit more um but not in a negative way to where he's going to be weaker or anything like that man the noticeable difference of Jem Otis last year to this year man the dude is a whole lot quicker he's getting out on the edge making plays out on the edge running quarterbacks running backs down I mean the dude looks absolutely legit I also thought you know your your linebackers looked really good today we saw even a lot of those three linebacker sets that Kan wck was talking about where they were able to get Justin Jefferson on the field as well I think that's going to be you know more interesting to see how they are using that going back you know looking at the watching the game again seeing exactly what situations those were um but I mean for the defense no complaints at all from the defense for me I thought those guys played really good especially that secondary had a lot of young guys in the secondary in this game and we'll talk about more about those guys but defense overall I think at the end of the day uh they they can get an A+ for me the offensive line had its moments I thought you know there were some positive things I also thought there was some negative things man in that first quarter if you guys were watching our watch party I was ready to um bench Elijah pritchet because the first you know couple of drives he was absolutely terrible he was getting beat on every single play now you know he has been practicing at right tackle he hasn't been practicing at left tackle and with Kaden Proctor going down he had to jump in there and play Emergency left tackle for you so I'll give you the benefit on the doubt when it comes to that um but Kaden Proctor like I said I thought he started off a little bit shaky got better as the game progressed I thought wilin forby looked really good over at the right side though you know there were not many times really ever you were saying oh wil and fory getting beat here or anything like that there were no penalties I don't believe on wil and forby I think he helped himself out a lot just with uh his performance at right tackle today and we'll see what happens with Kaden Proctor and Elijah Pritchard at left tackle but uh you know with that injury to um Kaden Proctor it seems like Elijah pritchard's going to be there for the meantime anyways so rate your confidence level after one game in Alabama's offensive line like I said I thought they had some UPS I also did think that they had some Downs at the end of the day everything kind of came together the Run game was also really good good so um you know it's probably above a five for me at this point but it's definitely not a 10 let me know at the pinned comment of today's video I thought the Run game was really really impressive in this game I mean what more can you say about uh justice Haynes four carries for 102 yards average what's that math 25 a half yards per carry he had the 84 yard run so that one really you know takes the uh as I knock stuff over here um that you know that really takes a lot of the average and shoots it up having that 84 yard run but man it seemed like every single time Justice Hayes Jam Miller touched the ball they were just being absolutely electric with uh when they had the ball in their hands I thought Jaylen milro also really solid in the Run game today as well and that's something that I wanted to happen a little bit more call those quarterback runs let your quarterback do what he does best yeah sure he can throw the Deep ball yes he can be your point guard on the or with the offense and get Playmakers the ball but man he's probably your best playmaker so let the guy let the guy cook and I thought they did that 10 carries for jayen milro tonight for 79 yards he also did go seven for n passing the ball but specifically talking about running here Jam Miller also five carries for 54 yards I think that also you know is part of the positives for the offensive line right the consistency is something that we want to see just continue to build for the offensive line for Alabama because yes they still you know there still were a couple of times where I thought you should have picked up that first down and they weren't able to do it but um overall I thought you know the consistency will get better I thought the Run game man those guys just looked absolutely incredible guys it is already late here at the section and the description of today's video man how much could you say about Ryan Williams I mean we have talked about the fact that this kid was going to be electric but me personally I did not want to put those expectations on this kid because that's something that Nick sabbin talked about all the time just because he's a high-rated you know athlete coming out of high school does not mean that you know that needs to get in his head but I tell you what dude Ryan Williams absolutely electric he had two catches 139 yards receiving 692 yards average uh per catch that's absolutely insane I think one of them was 84 yards and the other one was like 55 yards or something like that broke a tackle on the 55 y two touchdowns for Ryan Williams tonight in two catches you couldn't ask for you know much anything else out of him uh maybe maybe some more playing time but I think at the end of the day Alabama right now wants to keep him as much of a secret as they can right now which I don't think is going to you know be able to last very long because Ryan Williams is here to stay and he's here to play baby so type RW in the comments section for me spam RW for Ryan Williams the kid had an The Freshman DBS really really did look the part and I understand you're going against uh Western Kentucky but Western Kentucky is a team that likes to be able to push the ball down field and they did try to do that it's not like Western Kentucky came into this game and you know tried to just keep the ball away from Alabama which they did on that one drive first half I think they had the ball for like 21 minutes or something like that they had a 21 22 uh play drive as well that was absolutely insane just to see 22 play drive that ended in a turnover on Downs a testament to what your defense was able to give you today but zaben Brown got the start today at corner ahead of Deshawn Jones thought Zab and brown did really good they went right at him the first three plays of the game one was a bubble screen that I got like two or three yards something like that the other one first down the wide receiver or tight end was just able to find a sweet spot in the zone he sat down caught the ball wasn't man on man or anything like that just kind of that happens when you're in zone um and he really didn't break at all I thought he played really good overall as a freshman and the rotation at that defensive back spot you know you also saw Z miny in there more towards the end of the game which you saw Jaylen and Bak in there uh during some meaningful times in that game in the first half so you know I thought those freshman DBS looked really really good red Morgan also looked really good for you so I mean after this game you know I'm touching on more of the positives um because there are some nitpicky things I think that you can go more in detail on but look man I don't see how you could be mad at a 63 to nothing win at the end of the day the Crimson Tide put the hammer down on Western Kentucky it's time to do that against South Florida next week hopefully Kaden Proctor we can figure out maybe it wasn't that big of an issue um but that is going to worry me a little bit along the offensive line just having a situation come up that you didn't really expect that was going to happen but uh you know we'll see what happens when it comes to that if there's any news tomorrow that
