[Music] race one of round four of F1 Academy 2024 got off under a sunnier climate this morning as Abby pulling on Pole Position took the lead of the race Dorian Pat However unfortunately with a false start managed to get a 5c time penalty the drivers battled it out on track up until the right down to the last wire Amna alrai made a little move there and a lock up from Leah block but it was Abby pulling who took her fifth race win of the season and you can see there the weather continues to shine here in the Netherlands welcome to xanor as we go racing once again it's race two the drivers have had a very quick break an hour or so since the end of race one which was postponed due to adverse weather conditions yesterday this is one of the fav most favorite tracks on the calendar at 4.2 km in length it's 14 turns and there is plenty of elevation that turn one 19° of banking and it provides plenty of challenges for the 16 drivers battling it out on track today my name is Nikki Shields along slan commentary is Joe Osborne McLaren Factory driver Joe we were treated some to some action on track this morning Abby pulling was as strong as ever taking the win today but she is lining up alongside do and P who has poll position today Doan p is Abby Ping's biggest rival at the moment in the title fight you can see her there just preparing to get into uh race mode the formation that will be happening in a few moments time but there really hasn't been much time since the first race which is quite unusual we normally have them on separate days um so it's a challenge for them it's going to be wild and it's going to be interesting I can't wait to see how the dynamic shifts now pan is on Pole Position well let's take a look at how the grid is going to line up here for race two so Amna alcy starting from the back in 16th with Bianca Bustamante who spun out of qualifying and didn't set a lap time uh Emily de home race for her will be starting from 14 with British racing driver Jess Edgar for 13th Lola loen for for Charlotte Tilbury in 12th with American driver chloee Chambers alongside in 11th Tina hman for Aston Martin will be starting from 10th an improvement from yesterday's or this morning's qualifying and Carrie Shriner will be in ninth Hamner Al kesy there in eighth W here last year out and Leah block one of her best qualifying performances will be starting from Seventh Nina gadman the best qualifying performance we've seen from a wild card driver in sixth ARA Marty in fifth aelia Nobles there great qualifying for her in fourth and mayor V who was on the podium earlier this morning in third Abby pulling who is currently at the top of the Series standings will be lining up in second alongside her biggest rival in the Mercedes liveried car with Dorian P at the helm now earlier this morning if you saw Dorian P was given a 5-second Time penalty for a false start which dropped her from second down to fifth in the uh results so this is a big moment for Darian P she can really capitalize on the start of that race but also she is going to be so aware of that mistake that she made this morning with the false start you don't want to throw it away and it was such a small mistake visually it was hard to spot the jump start from pan but the data the FI have from the sensors showed the car was creeping only a few thousands before the lights did go out but that attracted the penalty and as a driver it's hard to move on from a mistake even harder that we've had less than two hours between race number one and this race we're lining up now due to the Quirk that the weather is but we're so lucky to get two races under our belts today for F1 Academy yeah absolutely and and and Darian Pat is such a fascinating driver I think you know she actually only stepped into single seaters last year and already has just shown such a dominant performance she started the season uh taking pole position and had a ler flag Victory so she she had a great start to the season she did actually then suffer an injury before Barcelona she fell off her bike she had to pull out of lemon which she was racing for for iron Dames um and was most probably still recovering from that injury last time out in Barcelona um she did finish uh P5 and p7 so they were still very respectable results but perhaps not um on the podium like we've seen from her in the past but she has made a full recovery now fighting fit and has very much got her eyes on the prize she wants to win this race an incredible uh incredibly determined driver um and this is now her opportunity to deliver yeah determination and talent in equal measures she was the 2023 fa revelation of the year so we know how good she is and I think she's got a good chance in this race we're about to see yeah let's hear from her now after that race one this morning so I jump start I mean I jump start I move a little bit uh so uh so yeah uh unfortunately I Take 5 Second so I was trying to uh to create a gap to have this 5 Second on track but it was not enough I think we finish at 4 second or or so no no uh so we are P4 uh and no it's a shame it's a shame for a championship but I think we have a new opportunity today in race two we're starting from Po and um I'm ready to to fight for the victory well clearly held a hands that there admitting to to that jump start you know a bit of a driver error again it's really difficult isn't it to practice these race starts there's only so many opportunities that you get to do it yeah and the stress and the dreading that the drivers are under when the race start happens it is impossible then to replicate that in practice so hopefully her focus is just on those lights as soon as they go the clutch comes up and off she goes so you can see suy wolf there the managing director of F1 Academy um who has been the leader behind this incredible team putting F1 Academy on the Formula 1 stage for the first time it's in its second year however this is the first year that F1 Academy has been part of the Formula 1 schedule um so it was quite amazing that we managed to squeeze in that extra race this morning because of course it is such a busy day day here on track but the drivers are now going to line up on the grid just moments of away from nostal and it is brilliant to see the Dutch fans all here to show the support for 16 of the world's best female drivers yeah we got three Dutch drivers there Maya being the highest finisher in race one so uh they've got some people to cheer along from their home country too as we see the cars all lining up going over off the dirty line is late as possible to keep those tires as clean as possible for the interesting turn one break Zone coming up so keep a very close eye at the start of this race on what Dorian p is going to do so we can see the green flag has been waved keep your eyes on the lights and the 16 drivers who are about to go racing here in Zam for and we've got two cars stalled at the back there Dorian pan gets a fantastic run down to the first straight Abby pulling has dropped back into P3 Maya V slips in right behind Dorian p a brilliant start there Nara Marty goes wide at turn one manages to recover we're going to have to do a quick repay to see who the staller was at the back but Dorian Pat at this critical point in the race has maintained her lead and Abby pulling has dropped back down to P3 lot toct there you could see n Marty's car go up in the air on the exit of one it looked like Nobles just came across the front of the car wheel to--he contact just shot the car in the air pulling now on the attack May vuk did well to get past her at the start we're now going to see where the pace is at perfect start from Daren PA after that struggle in race one I think it was Leah block that sto cuz she is now currently 16th after a really strong race earlier on yeah absolutely uh so we'll keep an eye on if Leah block can recover during the course of that race and move up the positions but it's great to see everyone else safely through the first couple of turns and now the focus the focus for Dorian Pat is to just look ahead stay calm stay cool stay collected and just bu builded that Gap we've seen her do it before we saw her do it in that first race in jeda where she had that light to flag Victory and she did build a lovely gap between herself and Abby pulling who took the second place in that first race but Dorian P seems to be back on form you can see Bianca Bustamante there uh has moved up already she started in 15th now moved up to 13th she's had a really difficult weekend Bianca Bustamante is seventh in the championship at the moment she's already had one podium in Miami but uh she did unfortunately crash in qualifying had to retire and hence why she started towards the back of the grid yeah we're watching the front of the grid here pulling all over the back V I thought she was going to dive to the inside she actually just locked a break into turn one pulling so still getting everything up to temperature also looks like Nobles is potentially holding up a wild card near the Gan our highest finisher wild card so far this season in fourth in race one can she go one better and get on the podium as we look at pulling still all over the back of my R it gets so difficult in these highspeed Corners to follow closely in the turbulent dirty air but pulling is looking strong she will also be looking past maroke to see is Daran Pang getting involved as we see the investigation going on there I didn't see that one be interesting to get a replay but look at Nobles in fourth place in the pumac car holding up these two cars on board of ham Al Kazi can she do anything to get past geman or is she thinking I'm better to sit behind let gaan open the door on Nobles and then follow through on that move it's going to start to get interesting we saw Noble struggle a little bit for Pace at the start of the race but then got stronger earlier this morning in race one so we saw some great racing action from Ham Al kazy this morning pushing uh with Leah block and it looks like we're going to see a Repeat Performance she's going to be all over the back of Nina Gan not going to make it an easy one for her but Nina gaban you know the wild cards driver for this race weekend a phenomenal first race for her finishing fourth um she had a great qualifying and uh you know she really hasn't had a huge amount of experience compared to some of these drivers but is here ready to make the most of this experience she wants the world to see what she can do and you know basically ensure that she has a successful future in single seaters going forward and of course being in front of the home crowd njja Manel always said being in front of the home crowd gives you that extra tenth per lap and perhaps that's on Nina gan's side but we're now on board with ham alabasi in the red bull racing car she is chasing down gaban for that fifth position ham Aly is a great racer in F1 Academy we've seen her race here before she won twice last year and uh she's back in her second season but last season of F1 Academy because you can only do two seasons uh to really show the world uh her skill and determination all over the back of game of at the moment looking for that opportunity they're obviously fighting for the same oh a little lock up there so she's feeling the pressure G is very much looking in her mirrors to check what AM hamda Al crazy is doing and uh this is going to be an intense moment for her but so far she is delivering a really strong race showing that maturity um but uh we have still got well 14 laps to go yeah such an intense lap round here at zamal there's almost no rest bite for any of these drivers and gadman just locking that break in to turn 10 that you saw then caus it to run wide you just lose a little bit of breaking efficiency as soon as those Wheels lock up and it's very difficult to recover from gan's got to get on the aggressive here and tried to get past Nobles otherwise she is going to get overtaken by Al cazy I think yeah look at that Al cazi there this is a possible overtaking opportunity look to the inside thought about it uh but has slotted back into position but that 22 car of Nobles with the pummer Livery she is going to be feeling the pressure but you know Nobles again we we've seen her really improve over the course of this season let's listen in as soon as we have an opportunity we need to send it now at that point she's probably well aware of what she needs to do but of course uh you've got your engineer just reminding you there uh that this is your opportunity you have to do it now there's a huge gap uh generated now what is that 4 seconds Nobles there behind Abby pulling and uh Doran and Pat still leading this race by one second ahead of my yeah I just wonder maybe nobl has a little bit of damage from the contact with Marty turn one lap one the front left corner took a big hit only takes a little bit of suspension damage to change the toe which would only be 2 mm for an Optimal Performance so you can imagine even just a millimeter or two here makes a big big difference as we go to Doran P she's looking comfortable at the moment keeping that Gap well over a second now 1.3 seconds and pulling looks like she's struggling a little bit to stay with Mara as we go back to the Battle Pack behind really Head Up by Nobles Gman seems to struggle to stay close enough through this final Corner which leads on to the best overtaking spot the lap into turn number one actually looks like Al cesi is the one who's got the potential here we saw her do the move on Leah block gan's going to go defensive she doesn't she goes back outside alabasi just needs to find a Breaking Point locks up a little bit Gman closes the door and just leaves a tiny bit of space side by side on the exit of one who's going to keep it pinned into two it's difficult and Gan closes the door harsh but fair on alrai but look that gives nobl a chance just to breathe a little easier I think this is the flow we're going to see for the remaining 12 laps that was a brilliant defensive move there from gadan H ham Aly all over the back of her pushing so hard fighting over the same bit of tarmak edging her way closer and closer a great bit of racing there between the two drivers nice and clean and great to see but this is not going to be the last time we see these two battle it out yeah really stacked up aren't they so one mistake is going to lose you potentially more than one place let's have a look at the replay pulling a little bit slower than May on the optimal racing line side maybe not as much grip there you can see shrina closing the door and Houseman and then Marty and nobl on that sort of third row they're the first side by side cars the blue pumer against the Tommy hillfiger car just contact now you can see the car pop up and Marty loses so much momentum five six spaces lost Nobles that was a interesting bit of contact I think it's a racing instant for me on board with pulling you can see pan just accelerates Mar V's going to come in the Ferrari car to the left as well pulling checking our left mirror checking our right mirror goes to the racing line and then TR to decides I need to now get on the front foot and go Chloe Chambers little bit further back you can see Leah block stalling there all the drive D shrina had to really react well didn't she go from extreme left to extreme right on the track and then everyone just concering up everyone staying clean you might just see Marty in the in the ground there going up in the air we get a good shot of it here watch that Tommy hillfiger car pop up in the air as they get a bit of contact does really well not to lose grip of the steering wheel because it wants to get ripped from the grip of your hands when contact like that happens well great to see the replay there and you know once again Abby ping has lost right so we've got wheel tohe action here Nina gaban is going for the move on aelia nobl can she make this move fighting over for the same bit of tarmac she's working hard the tires are working hard has she got the car in the right window to maximize that performance at the moment Dorian P has got the fastest lap there is a point available for that so it's uh really important to do uh but no so they just all jum back into position uh Nobles is doing a great job there defending from gadan but uh let's take a listen to try do in the next two laps right okay so Abby pulling has been given instruction by her engineer that she needs to pass Maya VG in the next two laps she's getting closer and closer if you look at the sector times there pulling is faster than VG in sector one and sector 2 sector 3 sorry my fter in sector 2 but the Gap now now between pulling and V is very much closing this is an opportunity for her down this long start finish St turn one the bank turn as you come into it different lines that you can take this is a great overtaking opportunity let's see what's going to happen can Nina gab go for it hasn't quite got the pace that she needs to make the move stick there on nobl and nobl continues to defend but the Gap now 7 Seconds uh down to nobl yeah we're really losing the Thunder three here so the battle is going to get hard Gan locking a little bit we saw last lap the cars very close in the section coming up turns 5 six and seven not normally an overtaking spot here at zamort so I assume Nobles had a poor run out of three the previous lap this lap looks okay however gayman is still very close Gan looks very strong at this point of the lap doesn't she then you can see the turbulent air just causing a little bit of under steer for that lovely rose gold number four car and it's just going to be can we stay close enough actually looks like Al cazi is slightly closer to the the rear of Gman and again a little lock up it's so hard in the dirty air to be able to attack looks down the inside can she force a mistake not quite yet Nobles is driving a very good race here we haven't seen any major mistakes from her just yet yeah it really is neck and neck at the moment too close to call who is going to manage to move onto of course the podium finishing positions if if gaaban can pass Noble and catch up to pulling she could see her herself on the podium although at the moment with that Gap getting bigger and bigger it's going to be a real challenge pulling that you can see faster in sector 1 two and three ahead of nobl so we have 10 laps to go it's Dorian P for Mercedes in the lead at the moment by just 1.3 seconds V pulling nobl gaban ham alabes shrier linos Marty and hman all in points finishing positions but we are still only halfway through the race so there's a lot to play yeah Noble's really having to drive a bit more defensive now I think that's why the Gap has grown so much to 7 seconds and she's almost created an eightc car Battle Pack behind her so there's going to be some flash points I'm sure in that mid pack as everyone wants to try and get on the front foot again alas is so close she's going to be in the perfect slipstream pocket there the air being punched a massive massive hole and is she going to be able to get to the inside down at turn number seven it's very difficult Gan a little wide but does get to the Apex slightly later so you get a good exit which we can see here into the tricky turn number eight cars want to get forced out wide but the car needs to stay and then you get it straight for a very difficult breaking Zone into turn nine gaan a little wide again drag the car over to the right hand side a real clunky hairin the circuit's so wide here very easy just to not quite get the optimal line and you actually saw Al cesy run a little wide couldn't pick the throt up then got on the dirty exit curve which lost her traction and that's why the Gap is growing in front of us Gman for the fq team is doing a great job here ham alabes is all over the back of her breathing down her neck she's got a defend from Aly but also attack Nobles at the same time but showing her Race Craft here to the world here in F1 Academy in zamort yeah with these cars 175 horsepower so the slipstream is so powerful on them feels like you've got a turbo boost of 2030 horsepower and that's why nobl is doing such a good job to hold everybody off she is really giving everyone a bit of a helping hand down this straight looks like she's safe again gadan attacking a little bit too late they're locking the brakes I think gadan just probably needs a lap or two of chill just to try and bring the front tires down they're working so hard in that dirty air they're potentially just getting out their Optimal Performance window and that will be what Noble wants to do is basically back everyone up into each other and she can then hopefully make a break at some point yeah and ham alabes has got to be really careful as well cuz while she's focusing on engagement ahead she's got to keep an eye on her mirrors because the kick salv car of Carrie Shriner who also won here last year is breathing down hamna alabi's neck and also wants to make a move so it's going to be incredibly tight between these three and four drivers yeah and then lvin fos in eight she finished 12th this morning so she's done good job to get well inside the top 10 so Shriner just went quicker in lap five lap six and lap seven than Al kesy there so Shriner is really going to be putting on the pressure of hamda she's going to have to make a move to Nina gaaban otherwise she could fall into the hands of Shina and they go side by side is this it is this the moment nobl is pushed wide Nina Gman moves up into third we've watched this battle she's inched her way closer and closer but finally Nina Gman has moved ahead and hamna alabia is also capitalized on the opportunity nobles was pushed out and hamna moved up into P5 yeah down to sixth of nobl great shot there from the helicopter you got a great perspective to me it looked like gadman got fully alongside Nobles tried to close the door and it was side to side contact is now under threat from Carrie Shriner that we were saying about is got some serious Pace at the moment nobl has done well to close the door there I think that was a fair move I feel bad for nobl she had to take the trip through the gravel trap but great move from Gan hard and late on the breaks into 11 to get that job done there coming down sorry on the inside of car Shiner they go side by side carry Shiner just coming up ahead uh obviously we're going to see a great little battle between them and in that time Nobles has managed to just create a little bit of a gap a bit of a comfort blanket between herself and shrina yeah it's all kicking off great look from loving Foss in to turn number three late on the breaks as we go to a replay of the move you can see Gman gets it down the inside gets to the Apex and then it just runs a little wide be interesting how that looks to rise control side to side contact you can see it's under investigation it's from that angle it looks a little bit worse for Gan if I'm being honest I think uh Nobles would say well where did you want me to go and the only answer was through the gravel great car control as the car comes back onto the racing line alab bazy doing a great job to go for a late Apex to then get the speed and overtaken to turn number 13 yeah that was incredibly lucky actually that didn't turn into a bigger incident and everyone was safely through we are now on board with Abby pulling she started on the front row of the Grid in P2 and now she's very much on the hunt for that red Ferrari of Maya a home race for Maya uh Maya V very much set out her intention of this weekend she wants to be on the podium she wants to be bringing home the points in front of her home crowd uh it was a great result for her in race one can she do it again it's Abby pulling who's very much going on the attack coming for her getting closer and closer she's bought that gap down to now just 3/10 of a second so Maya has got a lot of work to do she really needs to increase that gap between herself and Abby pulling otherwise she will be dropping back down yeah pulling is obviously a racer at heart you can never take that away from someone but she will be thinking about the championship she's 84 points clear of Dorian P so she does not need these extra few points from going from third to second she needs just a finish and keep cementing it you can see that racer at heart though locking the break into turn number 10 she is pushing as hard as she can and she'll just be asking the question of V what she will want to dream of is V just makes a little mistake and she can just slide down the inside with no risk I don't think we're going to see a move like we saw with gadan on Nobles or like a last minute lunge I think pulling is going to be very calculated we heard the engineer there's the time penalty for gadan I can see why that shot from the front it really did look like she left nobl not much space to go and the Collision was more on her front doorstep than Nobles that is really tricky because obviously you know Nina G that the racing between them all had been so clean up until that point maybe a few frustrations showing that she just really wanted that piece of tarmak but obviously two do not go in to one so there is going to be that 10-second time penalty which will have a huge effect on Nina gan's finishing position massively so the biggest win of that is hammed Al kabazi she got the place on Nobles and now will'll be given the place as well on gayman because of that so looking likely that Al Al cabasi sorry would finish fourth overall you can still see Carrie Shriner attacking nobl Ling F has dropped back a little bit after we saw the attack at turn three a couple of laps ago Chloe Chambers a little bit wide there as well through turn number three of a querky corner such extreme banking the drivers able to use that at the top part and then cutting back for a long run all the way down here at turn number seven so we can see there the green liy Aston Martin of Tina Housman uh who's currently in the final points finishing position in P10 uh hman uh is ninth in the championship at the moment but uh it would be great to get a few more points in the bag so almost a bit of side by side action between Khloe Chambers and Amna alabi amna's really moved up she starts from the back of the grid and is now in p13 so if she can keep that going uh she could be on for a points finishing position with five laps to go super intense pressure here from am looking to the inside turn 11 like Gman backs out of it to save contact really looks like Chambers is struggling for Pace a little bit here so it be interesting where it goes now cuz now de house is closer to the back of Amna just because of those three corners where she tried to get past Chambers so she needs to regroup and hopefully can then get back back on the front of it V man also has done well now up to 11th from starting 15th so there's been quite a lot of movers and shakers towards the back end of this grid yeah absolutely and interesting obviously Chloe Chambers she started the race in p16 side by side there the two red bulls Emily deou making a move on Amna Al kizy and she does it Emily deou moves up a place it's a home race for her that is a great performance she moves up into p13 textbook move that's uh being a local helps with stuff like that set up well out the last Corner out 14 sent to the inside not a lot am the could have do now Leah block is on the attack through the sweeping sections through the dunes hang it round the outside into turn number seven pick your Breaking Point still side by side Le block now will tuck back in Jessica edar in the AMX car following closely as well so it is hot and fast racing towards the back here Leah block obviously stalling at the start is now trying to get back up to where she feels she should let's have a look at that overtake the house pops it to the inside super late on the brakes Amna has to give her the space side by side does really well to house then to rotate the car and get the exit look how close the front Wing there and let's have a look at Daran pan she's still pushing hard locking the brake into turn number 12 just keeping it rotating so she doesn't get a big flat spot you can just see it there she really is pushing on hard at the moment she does have the fastest lap of the race and a .9 second Gap to this battle here of myav and Abby pulling so Abby pulling now just 410 off Maya similar um situation where we were a couple of laps ago not quite managing to make a move stick Abby pulling trying hard but as we mentioned earlier it is not so critical for her we don't want to throw away a Podium position uh so it is pin at the pan at the moment in P1 but may verus closing up let's listen think about your line don't get dra into hers think about your line and fast pe so the Gap at the front has actually really closed up Dori and pan just 1.8 seconds ahead of Maya VG so although she thought she had a relatively straightforward job out ahead actually she does need to keep a bit of an eye on what's going on behind her cuz Maya V is looking seriously racing racing keep her behind you at all times okay yeah so interesting one from the pulling radio there the engineer obviously feeling maybe she's compromising her line being so close to V very easily done when you follow a car you tend just to follow where they go sometimes even turning in a little early just to get a better view of the corner and all of this driver coaching happens all the way to the Pinnacle of our sport in F1 when you listen into the radios you can hear the engineers telling drivers Char cler yesterday getting told to change his breaking point for turn nine that's on the fly so this is a great sport to be able to learn live and improve yourself and that's why it's definitely a team sport not an individual one that we're seeing just with the driv is on track and this is such a great display from Dorian P because a reminder again she only moved into single CA racing last year in 2023 um she has you know arrived on the scene and put in such incredible performances she won one of her first F4 s sea races and also one of her F4 UAE races is and it's going from strength to strength now in F1 Academy yes it's a huge discipline change for her Ferrari challenge champion in 2022 to a single sea F4 like car in F1 Academy is a huge change so to be leading this race relatively dominant now 2 seconds as we see this battle pack leaving again on the sweeping nature of zanor it's such a great circuit here it's up it's down it's blind it's fast and there is no rest bite whatsoever and one small mistake suddenly turns into a massive one as you see these cars dive in drifting all the way you can see the drivers working away at the steering wheel maximizing the grip that they're getting from these parly tires yeah Bianca bante in p 11 really on the hunt for Tina hman in 10th at the moment trying to get that final Point scoring position but housman's having a great run there really on the hunt for Nara Marty in the Tommy hillfiger car just in front inching her way closer and closer Nara Marty obviously lost out at the start of this race running wide and dropping back uh so it's a disappointment one for her but still managing to hopefully finish in the points yeah exactly finishing second in the race this morning she will feel very hard Dum by all the way down in ninth going back on board with pulling Gap looks a little bigger to VG who just locks again a little into turn number one two laps to go so this is really the last of the last chances for pulling to get herself up it does look like it's going to be dependent on a mistake from the Ferrari livered car in front however getting a good exit out of there does the gap start to close as we get the slipstream effect it comes very powerful over 100 km an hour then it exponentially grows and it suddenly feels like you have got that turbo boost on I was talking about vog great with her line pulling in a little earli is she going to run wide here careful on the track limits luckily the camera just cut away so we don't know if she was guilty so pulling there quicker are in lap 12 13 14 and 15 the last four laps than Nina gaan as we would expect by looking at the timings uh Nina Gan actually has dropped back a little bit The Gap was 10 seconds earlier now it's dropped to 11 nearly 12 seconds so gaan with that 10c penalty is really going to probably be dropping out of the points which is such a shame for her but doing everything she possibly can right so this is the final moment really two laps to go that Abby pulling has got to try and make this move on Maya V they all have identical cars but the setup is different can Abby pulling fine a little bit of extra performance out of this tatus built chassis what can she do with it ham alesi is uh right down uh breathing down the neck of Nina gadman there but obviously she doesn't really need to make a move given the fact that there is that time penalty actually it might be safer to just stick in P5 definitely that will be what the engineers has been telling since gadman got that 10-second penalty this is also going to be a great result with p and vog in first and second for Prema who run those cars currently third in the championship but only nine points behind Campos rhin obviously running the pulling car are leading that Championship but that could be an interesting part for the teams that Prema have got two very strong drivers in this race yeah so uh a great great result though well I'm not going to call it yet actually you never know it's what could change in this final lap but as it stands it's going to be Dorian Pat taking her second win of the season with Maya VG and Abby pulling joining her on the podium we are going to have the checked flag waved very soon on our final lap keep your eyes on Dorian P She is the 20-year-old French driver from Paris dubbed the pocket rocket she was recovering from fractured ribs last time round said she was back on form the goal here was to win and it looks like she is going to be able to deliver it will be her second time of a lights to flag Victory so as we are coming down into the penultimate final corner here in zamot it is Dorian P for Mercedes who takes her second win of the season a defiant race win Redemption after receiving that penalty for the jump start in race one Maya verg a home Podium for her and Abby pulling takes third place and we see Al cazy coming across fifth on track but now the time penalty gets added to Gman fourth great result for here then look at the Battle Noble Shriner lvin fos all pushing to the line and it's nobl across ahead of Shriner with lvin fos Marty Housman and gadan all coming over the line next obviously Gan is in P10 because of that time penalty so she does manage to score that one point bante in P1 Chambers 12th the house 13th Amna alabasi in 14th block after that uh tricky start for her in 15th and Jess Edgar in 16th Dorian Pals radio yes yes sir come thank you so much you all deserve it you all deserve it the car was good today thank you so much bra good job was Mega at trick for position fastest lap and race win great very nice indeed a full sweep 28 points two points for pole position and one point for the fastest lap and 25 for the win and great to see her crediting the team as well now it's the opportunity to say a big thank you to the fans Brooks radio checker flag mate well done P2 good drive good race good job everyone thank you so that's May's fourth Podium of the Season she's managed to finish second and has had two third places one of course was this morning a brilliant result for her and for the Ferrari team uh particularly when it's on home soil got to feel good really nice and nice to see p having some home support as well the French fans with the trickler there but yeah Prema F2 Champions will be impressed by the performance of two of their drivers today of pan and vug and that will really ignite this second half of the year championship wise in the teams battle pulling looking quite relaxed I'll be intered to see her body language will she be dejected or will be she a little Cal that's heing than you guys um yeah sorry about that St um so a little dejected with a start I would agree with that and I can see why but she sees the bigger picture of another great weekend Championship wise so I think she's got exactly the right mindset on how zanor has gone for her yeah absolutely and it's just you know just shows you how important how critical the start of the race is you know Dorian pan lost out of the start in race one but Abby pink lost out of the start of race two and that really did uh determine a lot of the race results but this is going to be a really special moment moment for Dorian power for the Mercedes livered car backed by prer racing a great moment to celebrate with the team because it's been a while since we went racing in Jed way back in January since she stood on the top step of the podium so it's very much a time to enjoy and of course she went through a really tricky time she fell off her bike uh just before she was supposed to be competing in Lon with iron Dames um had to pull out of that then was clearly is still suffering last timeouts in Barcelona but has managed to now make a full recovery after fracturing her ribs and is now back on top form a really really strong performance from her and I'd love to know what Abby pulling is thinking about this at the moment because she couldn't quite match the pace of Dorian part today no and it'll be interesting again where the trend goes on that but yeah talking about pans injury there is one part of your body you do not want hurting in a race car is your rib the core strength you need in these cars the gForce is so extreme it even becomes hard to breathe sometimes and I've been there myself and you're struggling and you're thinking about that and even 1% of not having the concentration to be fast is enough in a competitive Championship like this to go from a race winner to anything behind so this is always uh great to see as well the celebrations uh between drivers between teams congratulating each other everyone knows how much work goes in uh and of course Dorian Pat and Maya VG are both both cars are run by the same team The prer Works team one of the best isn't it when it comes to nurturing young talent and uh now we're going to hear from Abby ping Abby pulling a win this morning a Podium this afternoon P3 tell us about your race yeah I mean but we all saw what happened at the start it was a bit disappointing but at the end of the day P3 is still great points uh We've bridged a gap still this weekend um I don't know about how many but we've yeah extended it and um yeah I think I was probably the fastest car out on track to be honest it just was a matter of not getting off the line we had so much pace following Maya really closely but it's it's a hard track to over take on and um you've told us throughout the weekend about how amazing it's been to be racing around here in zanol you came here as a fan and now you're racing here tell us what is it like driving a car around these wonderful Bank Corners oh I mean it's incredible it's like a roller coaster and uh it's it's so much fun especially seeing the Sea of orange in the the grandstands too it's uh definitely a special event and um I'm so glad that F1 Academy could be racing here this weekend thank you so much Abby and we will see you in Singapore you we good to hear from Abby pulling there and um you know I think as you would expect still relatively positive conations May back on the podium how do you feel oh it's uh great to be back at the podium especially here um after the summer break and being at my home race with all the fans um it's great uh so we worked a lot during the summer break the team did did a great job um it was a tough uh part first part of the season but we found the issue we fix it now and uh it showed this weekend um yeah quality was a bit difficult but uh yeah I think we showed that the pace in the drive was there which is positive going into the last part of the season and I have to say Well done for that phenomenal start to get the jump on the championship leader off the line into that tar and Corner tell us how was it for you yeah the starts have been quite good this season um then knowing how fast AB has been going this season I pushed a bit too much in the beginning uh which then I was struggling in the end with the tires so yeah maybe in highight I shouldn't have pushed so much trying to keep Abby behind me but uh yeah overall managed to stay P2 which is the positive and uh yeah it's obviously great to do it here and uh I'm really happy amazing thank you so much and congratulations again thank you very much good to hear from Maya F there a great result for her and the team now we're going to hear from D you are our race winner congratulations you have had such a tough season physically you made it back back to the top step tell us how does it feel it feels so great honestly to be to to win today uh I think um the team deserve it um a lot and they did an amazing job and uh and I'm happy to achieve that today with them um and yeah it was a a good start and a good race over the pace was um was really good so um I'm happy to to take that and focus on the next racing amazing it was a light to flag Victory I think you've done that before and you make it look so easy but all of the drivers not just from F1 Academy but from Formula 1 have been struggling with the wind out here can you explain to everybody was it as easy or was it actually a little bit tricky go no I was actually pushing no no um with the wind today was quite tricky especially on high speed uh a lot of car movement a lot of instability so uh yeah it was a it was a hard work but I'm really happy to to achieve that and to be sharing our passion with all the fans and the support was amazing the all weekend congratulations enjoy the podium and we'll see you in Singapore huge round of applause there from the crowd and rightly so it was a great race there now let's take a look at some of the action from this race to this morning so it was Dorian P who took the win here in zamort it was a brilliant recovery drive from her after a tricky first race this morning and of course that time penalty which saw her drop down the order but it's 28 points in the bag for Dorian pal with a full sweep of win fastest lap and Pole Position now we're going to the driver's room we only have 30 minutes yeah short practice 30 minutes a lot more track like that oh done tired it was too bad to be fair no it was not bad it was annoying though for sure the St the start is better on the on the left yeah for sure compar this morning with the wet inside oh I don't know who finished behind you uh I think oriel are yeah really aelia yeah aelia sorry no one can say her her name oh H was there as well uh actually it might have been hamda yeah I think it was hamda that finished behind me h n I saw on the big screen at one point that Oro was like over the chicane and like yeah this is it the gravel I saw that so probably oh they touched I you but it's a nice yeah it's nice when you got clear air you difference when you've got a watch is awful but I was struggling so much cuz I pushed so much the first lap I really because I mean you you pulled seven always good to have a little listen in there there Susie wolf uh enjoying some sunshine slightly different to the conditions yesterday but um interesting to hear what they were saying about how the left hand side of the grid is you've got the advantage there yeah it's just where the racing line is the cars naturally keep that part of the track much much cleaner so at the start you just get better traction and better go and I think that's why my wood got such a good jump on Abby pulling we OB saw Dorian p on the other side this morning so it just again shows you how important qualifying is and Pole Position really does pay dividends yeah ping there also saying that she saw that the uh the move between I think Marty and Gan on the big screen have you got time to watch the big screen while you're racing I'm impressed yeah amazing mental capacity there for a pudding to be able to do two things at once really really impressive that's women for you Jo uh so let's uh watch the podium celebrations commence it is British racing driver for Alpine backed by the roading Works team in P3 Maya fug a home race for her in P2 another Podium for her this weekend and now we await our winner of race two here in zamort it's Dorian Pap for Mercedes in the prer and now it's time for the national anthem [Music] the [Music] a very special moment for the 20-year-old French driver Doan P now it's time for the trophies to be presented by Prince Bernhard and some more silverware for the [Music] cabinet when you look at Dorian pal season so far it it really has been quite mixed I'm sure she's feeling a bit of a sigh of relief to know that she is back on top form um and back ready to really challenge Abby pulling I think it's it's great for the competition as well to see someone really challenging pulling at the front of the grid yeah and it's going to keep it spicy all three of these in a class of their own today true lots of champagne within two hours uh for pulling and Pat there so uh see how happy pulling is I think as the year goes on pulling is going to relax more and more as this Championship lead stays like this and if Pang can turn the tide I think we may see a different personality come from Abby ping yeah absolutely I mean you know we still cannot question Ping's dominant display over the course of this season she's up there on 190 points at the moment with Dorian Pat in second on 119 Khloe Chambers who actually did drop out of the points in h race two is on 89 points but inching her way forward in fourth Mara Marty is in on 85 points but Maya VG thanks to her Podium her two podiums today is just one point behind Marty in fifth so it's really quite close for that battle at the moment for third in the standing but of course we still have three rounds to go and six races so there is still plenty to play for um of course our next race we will be heading to the street Circuit of Singapore cannot wait for that one one of my favorites on the calendar but let's take a look at the final race result it was of course Dorian p on the stop top step of the podium here in zanville with Maya V home race for her second and Abby pulling in P3 hamna alab showed a strong performance today really fighting on track in fourth aelia Nobles a great result for her in fifth car Shriner up there in sixth Lola lenos seventh Nara Marti for Tommy Hilfiger dropped back uh in eighth after that start and then Tina hman in ninth and Nina gaan in 10th just claiming that last Point Bianca Bustamante in 11th Chloe Chambers 12th Emily deou we saw some good battles from her but finished 13th Amna alab 14th and Leah block and Jess Edgar 15th and 16th well there we have it what a brilliant brilliant weekend of racing we've seen for F1 Academy here in zamort the fans have really shown their support we've absolutely loved it the conditions changed the sun came out and it was Dorian pant who really shined at the track here in xan vort and we look forward to seeing you in September as we go
