all right and here's the Chief's draft class steel steel steel steel good pick steel good pick all right so Nick your reaction uh the question that we initially had when we started the show what was it cuz you you yelled at me about it earli are you surprised Casey are not the favorites to ree but not yeah it is and but you have a reaction to Travis I'll do both it is disrespectful they're not the favorites just like it would be disrespectful if the Nuggets weren't the favorites to win the series but I'm not going to sit here and say it it's it'd be like seeing a unicorn if the Chiefs don't the Super Bowl it could happen but they should be the favorites now the Travis thing is great even though I don't I'm not certain this he had two years left on his deal this adds two more years to his deal so now he has four years left on his deal I don't know that this necessarily means he's going to play more than two years but I think it does give you a lot of certainty he's going to play at least two more years and the Chiefs gave him guarant more guaranteed money for this coming season and other stuff and that's really just kind in my opinion good business but also unnecessary in that guess what Travis Kel's contract which was not guaranteed this year it was guaranteed there was no scenario in which they're like you know what we're cutting you you know what I mean and so it was the the right thing to do for a player who has never maxed out his money who has never you know what I mean put the screws to him in that regard and a player who demonstrated last year that come the postseason he is is as valuable as any non-quarterback in football I truly believe that I don't the in in the Super Bowl in the AFC Championship game he had a basically a perfect football game the Bills game and the Chiefs drafted a tight end in the fourth round and this has been something I've wanted them to do for two years because when you hear about Travis Kelce do people Bru say oh my God he's just a freak ass like you can't no oh he's so fat no what everybody says is can't cover him yeah he's just and so that clearly is about intelligence technique relationship with momes those to me are teachable traits and so getting a a young tight end with a lot of upside in the building to learn directly from him to me is super valuable so yeah I think it's outrageous that The ners Who are shopping either of their receivers and seem to have some discontent there and and to my eye didn't get markedly better this off season are the favorites to win the Super Bowl so but but I think this off season has gone about as well as it realistically could have for Kansas City up to this point it is surprising as as closely as that Super Bowl was played obviously it's still surprising the ners are favored because there is we typically see or not all the time but there's a Super Bowl hang of over we just saw it with Philadelphia which it played the Chiefs very closely so the only possible reason that the Chiefs cannot be favored is that we've never seen a threee that's it the feeling that it's never happened all right so nobody's going to win it three in a row I do think though Nick there are reasons even though the Chiefs are two-time defending Super Bowl champions they still can play the underdog card like a lot of people are doubting them they're not favored like they to me are in a unique position for a a defending Champion one they're going for the three like they got crazy motivation this year you a lot of times a team that won a championship they talk about it's hard to get up until you get this is special case yeah they they're going for the three peat a QB that is chasing Tom Brady like that's a benefit too like LeBron you got Jordan out there to chase Jordan had magic out there to chase to have somebody the chase is huge cuz Mahomes is not going to get complacent all right three you're coming off what until the playoffs was a bad season like they can really look at that like we didn't play well last year they did once the playoffs started but now they you know then they they didn't have a good sear and I also think momes Nick has got I'm excited for him he's got to be excited about his new toys I mean I I got two burners and Hollywood Brown and Xavier worthy like man I'm about to have some fun and so I I think they have a lot of reasons to be motivated the well do you think it's on the board the Chiefs can win the Super Bowl this year well of course even though it's never been done before you think it may be something that has never been done before Could Happen out of nowhere you think it even it's in all of the world history it's never been done before but it could happen what change my mind okay once you put it once you put it like that no I just you make you make some great points I I I also I think that last point on Travis I think that Travis it kind of got we talked about it a bit Travis at the very end of last year not playing in that week 18 game when he needed 14 yards to get a, yard season and then just and I think that really helped him in the postseason I think Travis reupping and S setting the tone of guys the entire purpose of everything we do here is about being ready for the playoffs and chasing that and chasing that history I think does put them in a unique position compared to other defending Champions because you know what I mean Kelsey is in a lot of people's opinion already the greatest tight end ever Mahomes in everyone's opinion has already had the best start to a career ever like but you to your point Reed is chasing history Mahomes is chasing history Kelsey's back just to impress his girlfriend and to set records and so I think it's pretty cool all right let's go to Philadelphia uh the eagles look to shore up their leaky secondary but taking quinan Mitchell in the first round then snagged first round Talent Cooper dejon when they traded up in the second round here's their fullest Eagles draft class Brew also Jeremiah trod I love that pick well that's why they did it I mean what round was it fifth round that's yeah that's why they did it Legacy pick I love it Bry you think Philly won the draft I think Chicago won the draft getting Caleb and then getting the receiver dun but I think they had a great draft I mean what was their Pro defense that was the pro you got the best quarterback in the draft and then Dee I mean I think dein is underrated like I think he's gonna be good I think I think because he's a white defensive back people are underrated that is correct yeah but I think he's goingon to be good so I love and trer we'll see you know but I love what they did defensively and I think also last year we know the problem was the supernatural Funk that who knows we don't know where it came say would you admit they are entering this season with great Vibes why because they've reup AJ Brown they extended him Devonte Smith extend like they got a good draft with defensive they got two new coordinators The Vibes are great yes they are great in Philly they're winning the division they are definitely that division so here's the thing I love both of their first two picks I thought they might take dein in the first round as you mentioned I think I had him mocked to them in one of the mocks in the first round they got him in the second round uh and I think quinan Mitchell's either you can make an argument he's the best corner in the draft some people would say Terry and Arnold but I think they got two of the three best defensive backs in the draft those are needs so I think that's true I also think this is true their GM Hoy Roseman and maybe this is smart tends to be his draft mimics the consensus media big boards more than any other GM which is why every year people are like how he did it again because he's a he's doing what the media big boards would have done he even said in his press conference after the jayen the third round pick jayen Nicks hunt Jalex hunt pardon me that man I almost texted Daniel Jeremiah asking him to take him off his best available list cuz I didn't want someone else to draft him I was like Howe I'm not sure if other GMS are really scouring Daniel Jeremiah because here's what we don't do as much cuz I think he's sharp GM and I think trading back is smart and I think getting extra draft picks are smart but a lot of the picks that we have talked about wow this guy was the ninth player on everyone's board and he went 30th those didn't work out like if you go back and look at it it's like key Ringo noobe Dean no no last year he got Nolan Smith at 30 how he did it again no anybody heard from him Jordan Davis they got him at 12 he's been okay like Andre Dillard was a first- round pick that didn't work out we know Jaylen rager one pick in front of Justin Jefferson so I don't know that he's as great as we all think the day after the draft when it comes to picking the players I do think he's great at acquiring extra value by trading down and you know what I mean getting Surplus picks and that stuff but he's there are a lot of guys that slide and then the Eagles pick them and then the media's like well I thought that guy was better than that so the he gets an A+ that does tend to happen a lot with the Eagles coming up next guess who's back in Dallas Ezekiel Elliott classic one you're really tarnishing the brand I called this a long list if you want to be the guy with the categorized takes and screaming at the camera that's fine I just need to get some more Pomade and worse game his offensive line I think they know what they're doing with the offensive line so maybe these young kids they they drafted will be good but still you would think the offensive line won't be as good all right and so no they're not all in on winning the Super Bowl I I think they're in danger if the if Chicago is good this year they could be in danger missing the Playoffs cuz that would that could mean three teams from that division to make the playoffs Green Bay you know and Detroit along with Chicago so no all in this looks like Zeke they I said they should have got him last year when he could be thunder to uh Tony Po's lightning but Rico D Duce vaugh who's the main well listen I think they I am not as worked up about the running back room as you guys are because I don't think they had a very good one last year yeah and they won 12 games and they scored more points than they won in football like that I just don't way better than this though I mean it I mean per was somebody the defens has had to worry about I don't I I disagree I don't think that I I I I don't I think Tony Pard is a guy I just do maybe I'm being unfair I know that I have a different opinion on running backs than a lot of people do I just think he's I I think he's a guy I think he's probably the right I bet next year he'll be the 19th best running back in the league I think he's a guy uh but regard I mean he's not are these do they have even a guy well I don't know yet but I guess we didn't I didn't know that Tony Pard was going to be a guy before he got carried so I don't know if r d is going to be a guy but with that said I expected him to draft a running back and I think they expect to draft a running back and I think Jerry screwed up I think that whole it well it was bad but I it felt like a a moment that an older person has where they kind of like say too much but they don't mean to and that's why his son elbowed him and then their actual GM mlan was like we got a lot of people hiring our board like what the hell did you just do bro like um and so but they didn't take any they didn't take a running they could just have I don't think it's well I think it can be process right to be like we like this guy and this guy this guy's gone this other guy it's not worth second round pick and then then he's gone I did like their draft the BB kid is going to be a day one starter gon has a ton of upside neilan the pass rusher so will D lineman they one of their few missed draft picks seems to be the first runner last year Mazy Smith so they try to maybe fix that to a degree and then the linebacker from Notre Dame who meist whose last name Leaf I might say wrong I liked him a lot when I watched him this year for Notre Dame so I like their draft and I don't think their running back room is going to kneecap them but I think Jerry is becoming a detriment I think the whole we want more we haven't even talked about it we want more leaves fall the CD lamb thing well more leaves did fall AJ Brown yeah just got $32 million a year so the price of the brick is just going up for CD lamb like those things to me are real issues so I'm not team that's won 12 games in a row or 12 games for three straight years I don't think they're going to fall out of the playoffs but did they they needed to get better can I sit here and make an argument the Cowboys got better this off season of course not it's still been a bad off season for him I agree that no I agree with you on that and and he's not becoming a detriment he's been a detriment well the culture you know it's the it's the clown show well now it's EO Elliot back add some veteran leaders it'll help the locker room because obviously Zeke was beloved but it'll also help that his final plays at Dallas Cowboys not him getting pancake to the Center of the Earth plane Center that part's also nice for him Travis Kelce resigns with the Chiefs or he signs an extension is that considered a resigning thanks for watching
