they're going to right I'm back meanwhile Joe burrow versus Mahomes at what was once known as burghead but is Joe healthy enough to take down Mahomes again no he's not and finally the most motivational segment in all of sports it's the bud list coming in number three on the bud list I'm not going to give the bud list away what is up with him you what is in that coffee yeah introduce us ask him who's on the bubble of the B stop stop yelling at me then alongside Nick R of Kevin Wilds Brew how many people are on the bubble of the bud list several about four really can you give us one Kurt Cousins oh wow cousins he almost was on it well he should have been on Tyreek hill Oh another one almost was on okay all right we're start well we're starting Bill's Dolphins I can go on and on well not just two more actually Josh versus Tua who desperately needs a win surprisingly Bill's underdogs in this one doesn't happen often here's what Josh pulled out not Josh Allen Josh our researcher fewest games as underdogs since 2022 the Mighty San Francisco 49ers in the Avengers of course going give that and then the bills that's counting tonight so Brew who do you got that's really interesting because all those teams I know this was the first thing that ran through Nick's mind all those other teams have been to the Super Bowl well yeah the other thing that mind is the Chiefs being underdogs seven times including I four of their last five playoff games but go ahead uh Bills win tonight without question without question the bill Bill simply put are a tough hard-nosed football team and the Dolphins until further notice they showed a little bit against Jacksonville but until further notice they're break dancers are you sure the bills are tough this year yep okay yep I think they're a tough team I I I mean I think they're leaning into the toughness they got rid of finesse players Stefan digs gavee Davis so we can run the ball more we got our two tight ends and all like they they're playing big big boy football and sure the Dolphins and I admit it they muscled up against Jacksonville but muscle up against a playoff team muscle up against a good football team and then I will put the break dancing analogy to rest once you if they win tonight no this is just the first step okay this is the first step that would have been some real Stakes no firstep they just it's unlike see first game means everything what we doing why we got 18 weeks we have watch playoff 18 weeks muscle up against a few playoff team and then we'll be done with the break daning analogy but you like Buffalo tonight I like Buffalo because Josh Allen owns the Dolphins yeah check out this graphic 11 and2 against the Dolphins look at the yardage almost 300 a game nice completion percentage pass ready Josh isn't always you know that efficient but again bring the Dolphins to town or we go visit them and then he goes off and the other thing is this Tyreek Hill who is incredible isn't incredible against the bills oh look at this look at these numbers and Tyreek won on the game last week against Jacksonville but seven games in the regular season and some of those are Chiefs games Chiefs yeah but only 52 yards a game only two touchdowns in seven games now I understand Buffalo's got a different defensive back field now of course but I still think they're going to be able to keep Tyreek in control and so Buffalo all no question so there are a lot of reasons Miami should win this game for I mean that Vegas thinks they will they're the favorite it's a short week and they're at home the bills are neither team got out of week one totally unscathed but the bills I think are more banged up particularly defensively and I thought where I was kind of pushing back a bit about are the Bills a tough team is defensively they didn't look very tough against Arizona in week one they got run on and you know if they throw a pass interference flag at the end of that game maybe the bills lose that game as EAS you know that was one of the ones we didn't talk so much about how close they were to maybe losing that game and they were down two scores 17 to3 or 17 nothing early in that game and from an emotional standpoint Miami has to win Miami if they are going to win the division you have to at least split with Buffalo not that they can't win in Buffalo but they this is their spot and buffalo owned them last year to bruise Point once when they were flying their highest coming off a 70o game the bills cracked them and then once when they were at their lowest after the Ravens had rolled them the bills beat them again so all those things say this should be Miami's game don't you're come on but I can't cannot pick Tua in this spot Brew brew did the Josh Allen angle I'm going to do the Tua angle because Tua in his career against this opponent is Dreadful Tua with whether it's because you see Josh Allen across the field whether it's because some of the games have been cold or whether it's because every year or two has been in the league the bills have been good to very good and he's not doesn't excel in those matchups here's the other thing I think Tua knows and the Dolphins know this is a very big game and in the biggest spots in his career Tua has failed to come through in each and every one of them we showed you this graphic going into the playoff game last year we have now updated it week 17 his first year as a starter Tua with the playoffs on the line they get blasted and he was bad the next year they need to win that week and the following week to make the playoffs they get blasted and he's bad last year they can be the one seed going into week 17 they get blasted and he's bad last year they can win the division if they win in week 18 they don't get blasted but he's bad last year in his first ever playoff game they get blasted and he's bad freezing and so yes and I understand it was cold and that the Chiefs game it was legitimately freezing but Wilds they paid this guy like he's great I know some smart football people and you picked them to go to the Super Super Bowl so they are not for the record I thought the smart people included they they are not some Plucky Underdog they are the literal favorite yep and I would argue they had the better performance of the two teams in week one I think they were playing the tougher opponent and they both had comeback victories but I thought my play in week one but you understand I thought he was Allan was dominant Allen was dominant but I thought the the Dolphins had the better game I just don't trust Tua in this spot Wilds okay well I do but I'm on thin ice okay that's true I'm a Patriots fan you on thin ice I'm Ain ice you got him winning the division that's right I have I have going to the superow going to the Super so what are you on thin ice for cuz I'm on thin ice I'm out here fishing on thin ice okay with the dolphins I Believe In Tua okay here's I went through tua's last 10 games who he won and who he beat and who he lost to he beat Aiden oconnell yeah he beat Tim Bole he beat Sam Howell yeah had that win against uh the cowboys that was big that Dak win and then the prince here's who he lost to momes twice Lamar Josh and an odd one to will Levis I think was in ten it was in Tennessee so the the the problem I have is I think he belongs in this group I think he belongs in the momes not the Mahomes the Lamar that next group the next group yeah really yes with Lamar Josh Allen and burrow well he leads the league in passing he they have he he captains the number one offense and the point the goal is to score points M that being said if they lose tonight my faith will be shaken it's like going to a restaurant tonight that you've heard a lot about you're like I really want to go I kind of believe in that chef and you go and you have a bad meal after the meal do you want me to come here like I still believe in that restaurant I'm going to say no and I'm going to say I'm not going again can I can I tell you something just to further cuz I love when you bring up analogies I don't know that are coming and then I can kind of respond in real time I don't think that's the right analogy the bad rest You' been plent of urant I like the other Resturant and the food hasn't been good it's not time after time not quite it's a restaurant that all all week leading up to it folks have been like I wouldn't trust that Chef I wouldn't and you're like not only do I trust him I think he might be one of the two best chefs in the world and and you know what I'm going to have my wedding reception at that restaurant and then you show up you have a mediocre meal and day in September and you're like cancel it all no you can't you you already ignored everyone's advice and said I'm not a fantasy football guy I trust the numbers here are the numbers so one football game in September shouldn't shatter your confidence well it will okay well okay my confidence will be shattered If he if he if the list becomes moles twice Lamar Josh twice and will Levis for no reason you I need to have him if he's who I think he is today's the day you have great you the running backs are are a little bit banged up that's not great uh Jaylen Ramsey a little bit banged up it is what it is Buffalo traded their entire team in the off season we should be able to make it work you're at home it's at night so the weather's not really a thing but I need two it to win if not I'm abandoning ship what if he plays well and they lose 35 32 or something like then I think you can stay on I'll stay on we'll tune in tomorrow to see what two is excellent and their defense just can't stop them then I I think that is oddly less concerning than if they win and two is awful if two you know what I mean if they win he might be all typically awful in these games and this he was and I like him he was 17 of 27 for 173 yards he threw a killer interception to end the game yeah we all saw it why I haven't miss the playoffs you haven't in the Super Bowl that was last year but when I when I say something from last year you brought up from last year I didn't read that they uh they said might something wrong I picked it up weird yes did you I don't know I drank water I don't can't say I've seen that or uh know what anybody's talking about don't believe you uh Jo bro he the gu's online uh week one versus the Patriots pass the sticks four for8 4 for8 for 59 y short of the sticks 17 for 21 for 105 yard is anyone worried about Joe listen I I have found the Joe burrow commentary the last 72 hours bordering on hysterical and not bordering on but just full-blown ludicrous there has been so much where is this energy for Joe that we have for Lamar that we have for Josh Allen which is a lot which yeah it it's a would be a lot like if just pick a guy Kevin Durant struggles in a playoff series and they're like where's the energy you have for Joelle embiid for Kevin Durant like well they're different guys with different histories and that matters in how we talk about him Joe burrow is a spectacular quarterback that is his really only weakness when healthy is he is somewhat physically limited he doesn't have the strong EST arm he's not the most agile he's not the strongest like he is able to achieve at a super high level despite the fact he's probably around League average as far as measurables which is why he is a guy that if he's not close to 100% looks terrible his Capal is a little banged up he can't play well if Wilds is right that his wrist is legitimately still hurt it shows up but this idea that is being propagated online and by other talk show hosts oh he's been bad for 2 years is a lie it's nonsense we had a conversation on this show last year going into the game he h his wrist could he win the MVP of the league because after the opening four weeks last year once his calf got healthy un this is what he did what he did weeks 5 through n oh he looked like the best quarterback in the league and that was coming off a 2year stretch where we can show you what he did he was the second best quarterback in the league so do I think it's when people are like why aren't we doing this why are we giving Joe burrow more margin better than we give Lamar or we give Josh Allen at times because we have seen Joe burrow win in big spots and play great in big spots that those guys haven't we have seen Joe burrow go into Josh Allen's house in the playoffs out playing when Josh laid an a we have seen Joe burrow have two playoff runs better than any one playoff run Lamar has had that's why that is what you earn by but it is clear listen am I worried about him if his wrist is really still hurt he will not be good I and do I think we have overrated Joe burrow do I think that like oh time for the receipts on Joe burrow I think people are idiots I think he's one of the clearly one of the best quarterbacks in the league brew and has been for the last four years well the cuz one of the comments made is he's living off that Super Bowl one of the reasons he's living off the Super Bowl appearance is because he's only had two fully healthy seasons and in both of them he got to the AFC title game and one of them he got to the Super Bowl and did do what almost nobody can do which is beat Mahomes particularly in Kansas City all right and we're still very close to that time he's only played four years and two of them were he so look eight years from now if he has not gotten to another Super Bowl then he won't be living off that and he'll be getting criticized and ripped right but it was so recent and he hasn't been healthy that that's why he's living off of that and he does get a pass for that but I would to answer your question I'm a little bit worried I'm a because the we have to face it Joe burrow is frail all right I'm I'm thinking of him now like Anthony Davis and I think he's better like at his game than Anthony is his as great as right like as when he's healthy he's gonna be great but I always have to bake in at the back in the back of my mind but is he gonna be healthy and I mean we are already I the risk I I think you make a little sense because he clearly was you know doing something with it throughout the game and then didn't have a great game so I do have to bake that in for Joe burrow look I think this game Nick is big they CLE cly know it's big it's it's against Kansas City your rival and he's played great as you know against the chief the last guy game against him he had two interceptions in that playoff game but out for the most part look at these numbers against the Chiefs so if he goes out there and really lays an egg then you can either say dude is banged up like he's just not himself you could I guess chalk it up to he struggles in the first two weeks but there will be concern either way about burrow if they can lose but if he doesn't play well at all then it's gonna be a problem okay if he's healthy I I don't think he's healthy just the way he was moving around if he's healthy three things have to be true one the Patriots are awesome because they just beat a healthy Joe burrow at home it's week one hold on go ahead I want to hear the rest of them all I'm just say he's one and eight in in the first two weeks in his career okay but the game the game I'm understand that I'm trying to have like I I think game one's it did matter no it did matter it's not everything but but it has to we can't just be like it's we cuz next week we're going to be like it's week two no that's fine we're going be in a spot I want to hear the three one the Patriots are awesome which maybe they are two they had maybe they just had a horrible game plan where Joe Bro is going to turn into like check down Charlie and just and not throw down ball down the field and three they've got no chance to beat the Chiefs if they're losing to the Patriots at home and then they get a wellrest Chiefs in their Building without it's still without T Higgins but that so that's where so I and we can if we want to stay on this for a minute we can do the chief stuff later that's fine the we have a bulletin board Edition but we can do that later in the show we got plenty of time this I I feel like we need to have a recognize week one matters it's important yes it is also all of NFL history tells us not necessarily indicative of anything that's going to happen the rest of the year and that we do that like this idea that it has to be so binary of either the Patriots are great or they had a terrible game plan or the Bengals can't beat the Chiefs we saw the Cowboys last year look absolutely Unstoppable the first two weeks of the year then Layon EG against Arizona two and three to one I'm talking and I also think we have to put all of the quarterback performances in week one the great get extra credit and the bad get less negative Credit in the context of the whole league struggled quarterbacking except for Five Guys like that that the 100 what did he have 150 yards in this game The League average I think was like 165 well Caleb dragged a lot of it well no but so even the Caleb thing like no but the and so is it possible that burrow is less than 100% the Patriots defense is maybe a little better than brew and I expected maybe what you expected the Bengals struggle early in the year all of those things it doesn't have to and all of that can be true and it can mean that I think the Bengals are very Live this week the Bengals play the Chiefs tough this is their Super Bowl they're bringing they're opening their stadium for people to watch it like it's a Super Bowl like I just I don't think it has to be as black and white as you're laying it out to be I think it is totally in play week one's legitimate and the Patriots end up with four wins and the Bengals end up really good like that's possible we see that over last year the Jets beat the bills in week one without Aaron Rogers and it wasn't really indicative of anything for either of those teams maybe I I I don't know go ahead go well I thought we saw the we saw the Lions beat the Chiefs lions were real the lions are going to play gritty football and the Chiefs are going to drop the ball and it happened the whole time we see Josh Allen lose to the Jets uhoh Josh Allen is willing to give away a game with his with his that we already knew but that was but that but yes but then we we also saw plenty of things last year in week one that did not end up being the case all throughout the entirety of the Season we know that n hold on to it hold on to it hold on to what you're a Patriots fan hold hold on to week one it's going to be the your highlight of your season for the Patriots mind Buffalo losing to Tua well their under has even crossed my mind this game has not cross my mind so I can't entertain that foolishness because I'm telling you the Jets will beat the Tennessee tit like I'm saying something the Tennessee Titans might be the worst team in the league they looked frisky well they got some I I said Chicago they got some names and stuff but still here's the deal after that debacle in San Francisco uhhuh the Jets defense is going to be on high alert like they are coming out to prove a point cuz they did look bad they did get run over by a second team running back all right so they're going to go out there and want to prove a point and we know they have the Personnel to do it offensively Rogers was mediocre like you said Garrett Wilson didn't look all that great and you know I like him and Bree Hall obviously didn't look great so those three I think are going to step up and they're going to send a message so I I can't even find can I say something just real quick a l i have two quick points to make first one is this it is really a either great thing or awful thing that you don't gamble because you because maybe it's maybe it's awful because you could make a ton of money but in the first segment of the show you treated the bills and I agree with you but I'm gambling on the game like they're 10-point favorites over Miami when they're underdogs and right now you're talking about a team that Vegas says has a one in three chance of losing like it's one in 100 like it's unfathomable that's first point second point is this any and this for the both this side of the table you know what this might be for you as well I'm not sure anybody any pre-season prediction you make that could be or you generically the generic you the that one makes okay that could be abandoned after 2 weeks wasn't a real pick and I'm looking at you I'm looking at you about the Dolphins who were your Super Bowl team I'm looking at you at the Jets about the afcs I'm looking at you with the Falcons and the NFL I'm looking at all three of you guys then why didn't we do predictions week if after two weeks we're going to be like well I don't believe it anymore you got Caleb all the way the on the mountain and guess what I ain't moving after two weeks cuz you're Mr consistency right and we could use more how many weeks take you to move we'll see can I say then I look at the remainder of their schedule Thursday night they would have to go play against the Patriots they already have a history of losing to the Pats and then you go to the Bron I no longer have faith that these are guaranteed wins they lose if they are to lose but are they going to lose I I that's what I'm saying I don't know if they're going to lose but if they lose am I jumping yes because that would put everything that I believed that they would be into question period I don't care how you feel about predictions I don't care how you feel about my pre-season predictions if I see something I'm going to do something about it exactly okay that's what I said about I mean that opens up a whole another can of worms for the show I mean I mean you know what I mean I I kind of like it can we do this topic Robert Salah my God promised his defense would get quote stuff uh fixed after giving up eight consecutive scoring drives will Levis is no Brock party uh so he should bounce back for the defense right here's Robert Salo the bounce back um thought meetings were really good this morning uh walk through uh was the initial walkthrough was good we'll have another one today um look it's not the first time that that we've gotten punched in the mouth here on defense and and I feel like we've always responded all right we've actually been bad a lot uh the defense a concern oh yeah the biggest concern the big the big this the biggest concern well I no I think he's their biggest concern um but I think after coaching and the coaching staff it is a fair question to ask uh how good is this defense how good is it because I don't think they have passed rush and they lost 45% of their sacks from last year that's the sixth most in the league the other teams that thought they were contending that were in that boat that lost more than that Philly brought in the their pass rusher Huff Houston brought in denell Hunter to upgrade there from Jonathan grard they thought they brought in someone and H reick but he's never reported I don't see a pass rush for the Jets and do I think last year's Jets defense was a touch overrated I've only been saying it for months they were 12th in the league in points and every was like oh the pick sixes they allowed two defensive touchdowns all year two the two the the Chargers who struggled on offense all year scored 27 the bills scored 32 Miami scored 34 and 30 Washington scored 28 Cleveland scored 37 this defense has some great players no doubt but do I think it was ever going to be the best defense in the league no and I think it has to be a top five defense for them to have a chance and to the point Brew brought up earlier it's not that I dislike Bri breee Hall and Garrett Wilson it's that Bree Hall has four hundred yard games in his career four he also has four games of 10 plus carries and fewer than 25 yards I think I do I think he's just known commodity no and I think Garrett Wilson is around the 10th best receiver in football so that's really good but it's that can't carry your team so they have a lot of concerns well the question was is it the biggest concern for the Jets and and I don't think it's the I still think the biggest concern for them is which Aaron roders are we getting and then will Garrett Wilson who has been great his first two years and Bree Hall step up to the next level when stuff is expected of you now and when your teams play an important game so I think that's their biggest question mark But the defense has a question mark in that will they be consistent because you mentioned last year when they're 12th in scoring but third overall in defense they did have some games where they gave up a ton of points then they had some games they held Buffalo to 16 they held Houston to six I know that CJ they injured him they had held the Chiefs to 23 so they they are and then they they uh for the record that was really 30 remember Mahomes was like mahes kned at the one well the was 23 they held Philadelphia to 14 so they're they were up and down even last year when they were good defense so now they do have to be more consistent and that's what I do want to see that their defense is the biggest concern because it's the most it's their most valuable asset like it's what they have to lean on it's it's all we've ever talked about this team when we talk about them it's the reason why we believe that they're they have the potential to be as good as they could potentially be if Aaron is anywhere close we're not saying Aaron has to be MVP but if this defense is porest then they have no shot they have absolutely no shot to make any noise and when you talk about the things that you mentioned the pass rush that impacts the back end and if if if was anybody watching that game the backend wasn't Chase Daniel of The Facility ( says that Kirk Cousins is still recovering from his Achilles injury that great either I like DJ Reed I like s Gardner but if you don't get a pass rush it causes you to have to do things that you ordinarily wouldn't do that means I got to grab a little bit more I got to cover a little bit longer all these things matter in a Tennesse team that can run the ball that will run the ball BR like so and you can't stop if you can't stop the run you gave up so much rush yards like if as as a player as a coach when you look watch the film going into another week the first thing you identify is how can we exploit them how were they exploited last week you know what the teny Titans are going to do and you like turn around and run the ball they got will Le at quarterback you like Pard more than Jordan Mason and I like L more than I mean I do like per but he and their offensive line has improved Tennessee's but still no they're not winning this game should Falcons fans be worried this is why Wilds wanted to lead the show with this oh it's a big deal check in on the exciting NFC South where everyone seemed high on the Falcons a lot of people had them going to the playoffs had them going deep into the playoffs coach all four of us not me Big Show new coach new weapons new defensive acquisitions new Achilles repair that's not good here's Chase Daniel from FS one's the facility who tweeted the Falcons wearing pistol shotgun 96% of their snaps that's not good take a listen he's a right foot up forward what does a right foot up forward do to you chase it gets you away from the line of scrimmage faster because you're pushing off that right foot all right this game I don't know what change I don't know if it's offensive coordinator Zack Robinson new to from the Rams he went over he's the offensive cor now for the Falcons he's a straddler he is is literally the horse right here he is in the pocket like pton mating so in my opinion what I saw was I saw no push off to get away from the pressure he doesn't look comfortable and when I say strle he can't push off and get away from the line of scrimmage I know what it is the Achilles jaase I'm no longtime quarterback in the NFL but I'm going to say it's the Achilles Greg I will second that it's definitely the Achilles look Kirk is not 100% And I I believe they know that this was going to take some time but they don't want to put their young rookie Michael penx Jr in the game and and pretty much PR obliterate the the idea of them actually paying Kurt Cousins to come down there and play and you taking a first round draft pick at quarterback like this is going to be a work in Pro progress hopefully he can get through it I'm not sure Kurt Cousins has never been a a outside the pocket extend the play type of a guy anyway that's why I think it's going to be okay yeah and so like he can he can work around this I I just think he needs to start to trust it and anytime you have a injury like this it takes a time it takes a bit of time for your brain to actually trust well I can actually do this and for you to actually just let go and play so I'm I'm confused at why this is a story we knew Kurt Cousins popped his Achilles almost two months after Aaron Rogers did we didn't expect Aaron roders to be a 100% functional week one so we don't expect Kurt Cousins to be if the question is too early to give up on the Falcons obviously yes I don't think anyone thought man Kurt Cousins in week one is going to look unbelievable like I didn't I didn't so this is what I don't understand because you're the one sounding the alarms do you think it won't get better cuz we all agree if he plays like this all year they're cooked you think that the that his Achilles rehab and repair it's just static now this is just who he's going to be because I don't so I I think that I need to be proven otherwise for Achilles injuries it starts my Baseline is a presumption of you'll never be the same and I have to until you show me that you are the same I start here other people say you will be you're eventually on the path to being the same I don't view him that way I haven't since Greek mythology so okay I if I just made real quick I I don't look at his this is going to sound silly I don't look at his Achilles as one of the eight most important parts of his body for him for what he does like I I think that because of his style I look at that Aaron is used to having the mobility using it utilizing it Kirk is a statue as is so I think that not going against Tomlin not going against TJ watt not having the Steelers have your snap countdown he'll look much better this week and will look better throughout the year here's why I'm concerned for picking you know we all picked them to win that division get to the playoffs they got Philly this week that defense stinks slippery grass I look Jordan love and the Packers got a good offense so I Phil Le I think he's goingon to be good and I think that's a Lamar Jackson on Week 1 vs Chiefs: "Going to do whatever it takes to win" tough win then they got Kansas City so they're likely to start 0 and three so what their hope has to be and I won't jump off but what their hope has to be is because then they start playing the division teams New Orleans and stuff Kirk works his through these first three weeks when you probably lose he works out the Kinks and can get back to the old KK cousins that's what has to happen but they going to be 0 and three right but when we all picked them to win the division we thought they'd be 1- two after three weeks that's my point so it's not like 0 and three you know what I mean we thought they were going to probably lose to Philly and Kansas City if we thought Kirk and that type of game sometimes you got to do what you got to do BR you like that answer I do I do I mean I think that what we saw against the Chiefs was because it was the Chiefs and he had heard for a month if not months you're one and four against Mahomes you can't beat Mahomes look at the AFC Championship game and he clearly was on an adrenaline rush and all that I don't think he's gonna and it it hurt him probably with the throws late in the game where he missed him because he was just so amped up so he's GNA have to deal with that but I think in regular games he's going to do what he needs to do which is slide get out of bounds Greg I love the way he looked running though the only thing I didn't like is him running in the people the end of the plays yeah but but he I mean he looked as fast as he did earlier in his career and so yeah I I like that answer um and and he even mentioned Henry and Hill so yeah I think he's gonna get it yeah I love I love the answer look I I love the towards the defender and possibly get put himself at risk those are the things I don't like if you're going to be running at this volume 10 plus carries 16 carries a game you're going to put yourself in harm way that many more times all season long and he also in this press conference said uh he didn't he doesn't get the calls other quarterbacks get and I didn't look at that as ref blaming I look at that as accurate telling of History like late hits retir he's talking about that that when late hits or or hits to the that he doesn't and I think I don't know that week one against the Chiefs was a good piece of evidence for that but I think over the course of his career is 100% true that it's very clear to me watching football that refs treat mobile quarterbacks differently than pocket quarterbacks they just flatly do kind of have to cuz they're like running back yeah but even on plays they should be protected they're not protected as much I just think there's sub so I thought I think Lamar is correct on that on that point I Chiefs fans got mad so he was blaming the refs I didn't look at it that way at all uh I have it just something I want to throw out to you guys this is come on over to the Dolphins you used to play for the Dolphins I did what do you got in this one I got the Dolphins Wow Let's Go wow and you the more I think about this it's I I liking this too when I was in Green Bay and we used to play the Detroit Lions the bills like we were the Packers we looked at this team and we just felt like it doesn't matter who you have it doesn't matter who we have at our disposal who's available we're better than you we're talking about what we doing when we get back to Green Bay what time we get back to Green Bay like that's how we look the bowling alley open if not screw that's that's kind of the approach of the bills with the dolphins and this year I just feel like like if there is you said it yesterday like it's kind of their season but it's like if you can't beat them this year in this game at home early in the season when there's still so much to be revealed about the bills that hasn't been we know the one thing they have is Josh Allen and you can't just minimize that I don't know if you ever beat them and that's why I'm picking the Dolphins they have more star power more Firepower you're playing at home you just got to get it done if you're the Dolphins so it it to me I thought there was one and I know Brew disagrees with me on this but I thought there was one referendum game in week one and it was Chiefs Ravens it was a the if the Ravens don't win this game it's going to be hard to say how they can win it but at least what they have going for him is it was in Kansas City you know what I mean it wasn't I looking across the entire slate this weekend to me there is one referendum game and it's this one which is and the Dolphins don't have that excuse of well we're on the road we'll get him when we play him at home and they have a lot of edges here the Dolphins have as good of a wide receiving core as just about anyone in the league the bill secondary lost pieces in the off season and teron Johnson is hurt that you know what I mean I mean that should help them they are on a short week that typically not so much lately but historically favors the home team they are the home team there's all the I thought Miami played a better overall game on Sunday than the bills did but Brew I'm with you because I just don't trust Tua against this opponent and I don't trust him in a big spot and I can just show the numbers very quick Tua against the bills yeah has played his worst football and this other one is to me the more flashing red siren about Tua I think these are arguably the five biggest games of his career it's not cherry-picking I know it feels like it is but week 17 of 2020 that was to make the playoffs they got blasted he was bad week 17 of 2021 they needed to win that week to stay alive for the playoffs they got blasted he was bad week 17 last last year that was HomeField Advantage p on the line blast didn't bad week 18 the divisions on the line and then of course the wild card game now maybe that's a he's not good late in the season graphic maybe that's what it is I look at it as a big game graphic so may you know maybe he dispels it here but I I just can't believe in the Dolphins against this opponent till I see him do it the bills going to go there oh no what's he doing that's what it's going to be what's that the Bills play big boy football they've leaned into that this year went down there and they played a tough hard fought game against Jacksonville who's okay but now you stepping up in weight class all right the bills have said we don't have Stefan digs anymore Keon and and khil we'll see what they become but we got two good tight ends we got a big quarterback that's fast and that can run the football and we got James Cook and we coming at you and I don't think the uh the Dolphins are ready for it and Tyreek the Dolphins weapon I know they got other ones waddling those guys but he struggled against the bills in the regular season Nicks right they have a new defensive back field so maybe it'll be different but some of these stats are from his time in Kansas City when he obviously had momes throwing to him and look at that just 52 yard a game only two touchdowns in seven games not even 10 yards of reception so and we've talked about Tyreek in in big games or against Great teams being able like to Chiefs being to be fair he did he did have a monster playoff game against them with Kanas City yes with Kansas cityas City right so I just think I'll be surprised I'm giving him a shot but I'll be surprised if Miami beats Buffalo Tua has to win Greg hear you if Tua loses are you okay with me switching my he picked them to go to the Super Bowl yeah were you okay with me ba bailing on that uh I wouldn't switch if they lose okay no not they wait no you telling him not s yeah I mean switching your Super Bowl pick is a significant they're my cut yeah a little bit you know a little bit we you will switch if they lose I will I will you know well back huge game for Tua this is a hug they have other he'll have other moment I ask they need this hold on cuz I I want to and I'm not I promise you this is genuine I'm not being a jerk no I'm not because we do kind of have philosophical arguments about what is good quarterbacking and your argument is actually quite logical which is I don't know do they win and are their numbers good and my argument is often a little more esoteric than that I get that kind of you but I think often it actually is about this feeling right now which is it doesn't feel like You Believe In Tua it feels like you want to to and you think he deserves belief but there is something in exactly right okay I want people to believe in him because you think he's earned it yes he has earned belief but if he can't listen to Mike McDaniel and Tua they're on the same page of like you know what the facts are the facts they've got our number and the bills run the AFC East until we prove otherwise that's a fair statement so even even the press conferences they're not like they've almost swing swung the pendulum too far to be like yeah good point like no this is our game we're going to win it's in their building it's on a Thursday they should their favorites you got to win this game they're going to too okay I think r no Bas Joe burrow not at all Joe burrow responded to a uh viral video of him gingerly holding a gatorade bottle and moving his surgically rep repaired wrist here's burrow saying no big deal take a listen your rist is in preventing you from throwing any throws that you've thrown in the past no absolutely not wind of all the water bottle discussion about how you water bottle G uhuh what did I do apparently it's just the way you picked it up that they uh they said might wor I picked it up weird yes did like I don't know I drink water I don't can't say I've seen that or uh know what anybody's talking about okay so a lot of gas in the press conference this is what I would say if I was there Hey Joe oddly you threw most of your balls it's gone you threw most of your balls behind the line of scrimmage short of the sticks short of the sticks and uh you threw very few balls long distance lot and then you were also moving your wrist weird are those two things connected yeah I would want to hear the answer to that so the question is are you worried about Joe I Greg I think that Joe burrow because of his physical limitations is hampered by injury more than almost any of our Superstar quarterbacks he doesn't have the strongest arm he's not the biggest guy he's not super athletic so if his calf is bothering him he's going to look terrible if wrist is you know what I mean far from being you know right he's not going to look right I think that is fair and I think it's a legitimate criticism I also think people have way overreacted to that what I've heard this week is Joe Burl's been bad for two years well okay if we're considering the 2024 season a year which there's been one game of then yes okay sure but even in that case it's not really true because last year he was brutal the first four weeks correct and then he turned it around not only he turned it around he was exceptional he was great the team was great he was awesome and then he got hurt again so injury prone injury concern sure and that was coming off by the way in my opinion a two-year stretch his second and third year in the league where I felt he was the second best quarterback in football only to momes mhm and so am Wilds sounded the alarm on Monday and I should have listened to him more because he was watching Patriots Bengals closer than anyone who wasn't paid to be there um and so he said that Joe was really bothered by his risk I think that is a concern I think anyone that is acting as if well even if he's gets healthy how good is he I think that is lunacy and I and I do think this will get better over the course of the year maybe I'm wrong I think it will yeah you got to be worried about Joe burrow because when he's been in the media we've been talking about him in correlation to being injured or overcoming an injury we haven't been able to talk about him in the light of which when he came into a rookie situation and Revitalize the franchise because of his performances his play and so to your point when I look at Joe I'm not concerned about is he a is he still an elite quarterback yeah he's still Elite he's just been injured the the last few times that we've seen him and he hasn't had a consistent run since 23 2022 where we've seen him just be healthy right like we just haven't seen that we haven't seen that Super Bowl year type of a Joe burrow at a level of consistency and so until we are able to get that you have to be worried because all we're getting as of late is a hampered Joe burrow to start the season last year and then you alluded to the 4 game win streak and he was fantastic and then he doesn't finish the season because of this risk injury that we are currently today talking about so you have to be worried about it and if Joe burrow is not healthy the Bengals have no shot he like let's be we look at look at the Packers and Jordan love when the quarterback is that good he elevates and all this talk about he doesn't make players better and all the like stop it like Joe burrow is he's a different he's a Difference Maker like he has us talking about the Bengals since he entered into the league a situation where most media members was like he should he he shouldn't go there he should he should play pull that car and not even go there like stop it you hit it on the head and start the the injuries are now a part of his story and I think of him now Greg like Anthony Davis in the NBA where if he's there he's G to be great but I always have to bake in now not quite kawh Leonard who I think is on a a level worse than even Anthony Davis cuz you know Kawai is going to be hurt Ka feels inevitable I don't I'm not saying no I agree I'm not saying inevitable one issue but I'm saying he is like Anthony Davis but it's it's always something it was a calf in practice we don't need the rist wasn't that this because I'm with you guys in that I think he's truly a great quarterback but he has had great weapons it's not a great franchise he went to a bad franchise and turned him around basically immediately but he's had Jamar Chase he's had T Higgins he had Tyler Boyd is a number three receiver Joe Mixon we saw how we know how good great weapons and bad offensive line yes he has had bad off but but great quarterbacks can you know work behind a bad offensive line with quick release and all that so I I'm not you know I'm not going James Jones on it I think he's still definitely a great quarterback but he has had weapons I think the issue is people I'm not saying you but there there are other lists even though I just subscribed to Mahomes Mountain there are other lists that put him in Lamar on the same footing or put him above Lamar well that's Mahomes Mountain okay and I think that Lamar fans or a lot of fans are saying hold on the guy was good for four games last year and my guy if you're Lamar guy won the MVP and then week one was this far away from being close to beating the world Champs in their building and the other guy was doing nothing against a team that we thought was going to be a bottom feeder in the league and it's still like ah you know it's okay he starts slow but Lamar Lamar can't throw like that came back around people don't like that so okay so I would let me address that real quick I know we're supposed to get to the Chiefs but let's just stay here just for another minute Lamar Jackson has been better than Joe burrow since this from 2023 week one to right now so for last season and this and this year right okay I don't think anyone would deny that Joe played five good games in that stretch and was hurt TW two different times and appears to and and this year I didn't think Lamar played great in week one but he played better than Joe played in week one so sure that's fine I don't think that inherently makes him a better quarterback and I also think that it it is there is a weird thing where everyone knows that what you have accomplished in the biggest moments while you were still in the prime of your career will hold a special value when you are being compared to players who haven't and so when we're talking about Joe burrow and it's like Joe burrow Josh Allen very fresh in my mind is well he went into Josh's building in the playoffs played a great game Josh played one of his worst playoff games and that's that's something when it freshen my mind talking about Joe Versus Lamar it's like well Joe's played you know momes in the playoffs twice played poorly once played great once in his building and beat him and Lamar in my opinion you know when the last gas for the Ravens in that game after playing poorly throughout it threw into triple coverage and lost the game Joe in my opinion Joe burrow has two playoff runs better than any one Lamar has so that's part of the quarterback rank well that that's that's the difference like you can argue Lamar has been better in the regular season he has two MVP burrow has none but it's the playoffs it's not just that Burrow's played well in the playoffs for the most part got to the Super Bowl is that Lamar hasn't played well that's that's what it is I I hear where you come from but that's that's the difference wild if somebody if somebody starts talking if we're having a conversation and someone's like why don't you have the same energy for Jimmy Butler that you have for Joel embiid and it's like one guy's want an MVP one guy hasn't and the answer would be well yeah but one guy consistently raises his game in the postseason one guy consistently drops it no one have problem with it everyone be like oh yeah that makes sense there's a weird again I'm not trying to make this about Lamar but if we're going to talk about these two players it's we we can one guy I think gets better in bigger spots and one guy I think it'ss worse and we also have a small a relatively small sample size on burrow that's it too like Lamar's got now several years of in the playoffs and all that burrow like we say he got two healthy Seasons he's been good in those two but let's a few years from now it'll be different if he doesn't it's really simp you're hitting it on the head like as an athlete like we are not judged by the Lesser magnitude of a game like we're not going to hold let's say like even Lamar losing against Kansas City week one in the same Stratosphere as we would if this is the postseason and that happens and he doesn't perform well like we just don't hold those two in the same category and if you choose to play not choose if you happen to play worse consistantly when we expect and are hoping that you give us what you've always given us in the regular season and you happen to have the MVP slated right next to your name come on like you can't you can't argue that and and it's and the the the other thing when we say Joe's played two healthy Seasons this is his fifth year in the league so this year doesn't count yet right he's he's had four years his first season he his rookie season got his knee blown out and the that's a not healthy season for sure but also if I'm and again I don't like the Bengals we're we're going to put one of them on the bulletin board for the week's over I think the owner's cheapap I think they should pay Jamar a Chase I I think the team talks too much but I'm trying to be fair here Mahomes didn't even play as rookie year I mean so they burrow played more than Mahomes as a rookie and then he had two healthy years Could Caleb Williams struggle against the Texans? they were awesome he was awesome he was second best quarterback in football and last year he got hurt twice and this year he hasn't gotten hurt this year it looks like he's still dealing with the effects of last year's injury I just I don't I I don't think people are being consistent in how we always talk about athletes and last point I'll make is oddly I think that burrows win over momes carries special importance in a lot of people's minds cuz the only other guy to beat him is retired I think if Mahomes had lost in the Super Bowl to Brock pie oddly it would hurt Joe burrow because someone else would have beaten him you know what I mean but the fact that he's the only guy actively playing that's have a DOT of a game he's just not like the I I didn't think Houston's defense was great on Sunday it wasn't I didn't Indie scored touchdowns I think on three straight possessions in the second half and I thought I just for the record the guy threw a historic historically great pass I understand but that's that's not three straight touchdown drives you got two other ones no and uh and I thought that if CJ didn't make the play of the weekend almost that third and 11 uh to ice the game that Indie was going to get the ball and go score so I'm not guaranteeing Bears win I'm not guaranteeing Caleb outplays CJ but I do not think Caleb's going to be have another dud I just don't think that I think he's an excellent player who is again we'll see what weapons he has out there but I think that he will at the very least have DJ Moore and DeAndre Swift I think he'll be good he is absolutely on D watch now I'm not saying sub 100 yards but 127 would be like a low yeah would be a dud like yeah I'm not predicting I'm just saying he's on serious watch because I I do think Deo Ryan and that defense you're right they weren't great against Indianapolis but I think they're gonna come in there and
