Taye Diggs talks reuniting with Meagan Good after 20 years on FOREVER | TV Insider

would you consider going to dinner with me have you ever did this with kids before uh no hi 11:30 no later that one scares [Music] me I was immediately in just because as you may know or may not uh Terry McMillan gave me my first Big Break um with hella got her group back and it was such an amazing experience she's a writer so obviously um she knows uh good work so um uh then after reading the script and kind of looking at where I was in my own life I thought this would be just a great kind of challenge also I couldn't wait to work with uh Megan uh good again we we first met on a television program people don't know this that I did for UPN years ago called Kevin Hill Kevin Hill where played a lawyer who adopts this this uh this young baby and she happens to she happened to play the mother of the baby so it was great to reunite with her and uh and just to take part in this beautiful love story about two adults that have lived their lives but then are choosing to open themselves up to uh the possibility of love [Music] again it's uh I'm always reminded how lucky I am you know what I mean to to still be working and to still be able to work on quality pieces and this piece was almost therapeutic just because uh you know I'm single I'm over 40 I have a kid I've been married divorced and um it's it's an interesting uh situation and experience when when you find yourself you know looking for the possibility of a partner and and how kind of courageous you need to be especially these days with dating sites and Instagram and celebrity and you know actresses and uh it's a lot it's a lot to deal with but um but we handled these these these topics and it was fun um kind of reliving some of what I'm doing in real life in this in this [Music] movie 100% 100% regardless of of It kind of reminds uh me to not look at uh not date for results but for uh for just to be in the moment and to you know want to uh interact with other human beings and and you know get to know people that's uh that that can't be [Music] forgotten how important it is to uh make yourself vulnerable I've been single for a minute and it's it's not awful you know what I mean I'm I'm I get to do things on my own time clock and uh I don't have anyone to answer to but you know when you uh are are brave enough to kind of let someone else enter that Circle you've you've got to think about that and and that can also be um it can be inviting you know what I mean having someone else have your back or you know knowing that someone else is thinking about you and also you know the uh the responsibility of thinking about someone else that can be fun and uh and I was uh I was pleasantly reminded of all that while shooting this film all my good looks you have to be very handsome um no we just got lucky in that um we knew each other and she's professional I'm professional so um and it did help that we we uh she's my type of person she's fun she's um polite she is um energetic she's got amazing Charisma um so all of those things um just really helped when it when it came to uh you know uh playing those characters uh uh with each [Music] other I have to I have to admit U I have other people in in you know uh uh that that could that took care of all of that cuz I really wanted to focus on everything that was happening in front of the camera and I won't lie this this role was was challenging in that it was so similar to kind of what I'm going through in life so it kind of forced me to to uh show some different colors that that I haven't been able to show in in other pieces so um I'm grateful for that as [Music] well you know what she is is Terry McMillan is real and um I hope I'm not speaking out of out of school but I I I feel like she also takes from her personal life and um is courageous enough to kind of put it on paper so um that that resonated with me you know what I was reading I as a human being could uh relate to so you know uh in some respects people might think that it's easy but um it can be challenging choosing to reveal sides of yourself and and different colors of yourself that that you normally don't have to so that was a challenge but um I think it I think it it's worth it [Music]
