Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles - Jon Gruden's PICK!

I think my favorite game of this week opening season is Green Bay and Philadelphia partly because I coached at both of these places got fond memories of Green Bay and Philadelphia the eagle fans they taught me about mental toughness one day I was driving home after we lost to Tampa Bay I was offensive coordinator at the Walt Whitman Bridge and a guy said hey guden hey Gruden roll your window down hey Gruden I rolled my window down he goes you suck woo that's a tough crowd man Philadelphia anyways this game is being played in Brazil I want you to think about that I coach for both of these teams there's nothing like a home opener in Lambo field and believe me there's nothing like an opening game with the Philadelphia Eagles at home I mean place is going nuts they made these two teams fly to Brazil no disrespect but I wouldn't want to do that if I was one of these two teams so I think you got to kind of throw out the records because a lot of these guys are sitting over over there in Brazil for about a week wondering what the hell are we doing here with that said both of these teams are playoff teams both of these teams have Dynamic young quarterbacks that's what excites me and the Packers added one of my best friends Josh Jacobs from the Raiders and I'm telling you this guy is a great back he can run it he can catch it he can go coast to coast and he is a vicious Blitz pickup guy I love the addition of J Jacobs so if you're going to cover all these receivers and you're going to cover here and cover there and disrupt the tight end and try to stop Jordan love Jacobs could kill you and if you gang up on Jacob's love has proven he is very very talented but the Packers no matter what anybody says is still a very young and developing team how are they going to handle a week in Brazil they have a new defensive coordinator Hatley he was the head coach at Boston College he comes in here everything's looked pretty good in the pre-season this ain't the pre-season it's a regular season and the Philadelphia Eagles are in Brazil too it'll be interesting to see what changes that he has made very important that we remember the Green Bay Packers from a year ago nobody really liked them until week 11 or 12 they got hot and they excited a lot of people can they sustain what they showed us last year they're going to rely on these two pass rushers Preston Smith and ran Gary when they get to third down and in the two-minute drill these two guys for the Green Bay Packers they have to have success rushing the pasture if they can get Hertz into third down but the Eagles we got to figure out what the heck happened to them last year and this will be a great measuring stick to show us what did happen maybe they're still in the tank I don't know where they feeling hurt the hell happened to the eagles they lost five out of six games and where are they now emotionally are they together do they have a chip on their shoulder are they going to come out and prove it to everybody or is there some lingering emotional problems here that we all need to figure out they got an excellent Young quarterback but he's going to be playing with a new center for the first time and let me tell you this at the ffca the fired football coaches association I got a ton of cut-ups of Kelsey their Center he was not a good Center he was a great Center and I try not to throw that word around great there's good burgers every once in a while a great burger there's good hotels believe me a great Hotel there's good centers this guy was great he called all the shots now and he's gone so they got a new center with Herz who's coming off an injury be intered to see how that battery works I do love the idea that the Eagles added two young Corners to cover people in the draft they got one for from Iowa they got one out of Toledo but they're high picks they're talented guys but they got to cover some really good young receivers for Green Bay keep an eye on the secondary sure they got big play sleigh but the other guys are young they haven't proven it yet it's the debut of not only Josh Jacobs but it's saquan Barkley and if you know anything about Barkley you know he has a big big issue he wants to prove it that the giants made a big mistake let me tell you this this guy is going to be playing with the Best Supporting Cast he's ever played with they have an outstanding Duo of receivers Devonte Smith the big man Brown I mean these two guys can impact the game and with saquon Barkley and the possibility of Herz keeping it on the Zone Reed I would not want to be a rookie defensive coordinator going up against the Eagles would not want to be me that's why I'm glad I'm at the ffca lastly the Eagles defense underachieved last year they got all these high priced defensive guys a lot of them come from Georgia and a lot of you out there Georgia Bulldog fans like me these young Georgia Bulldogs they got to pick it up they got to get in great shape they got to Showcase their conditioning they got to create some turnovers and make it happen on defense to win this game but I do like this matchup a lot and I'm leaning with the Eagles partly because I don't
