when you look at Walkers out today I know often um he's kind of talked about just looking at different starts as building blocks how do you look at this one and I guess what are your takeways and maybe the positives and things that you want to see moving in a little bit of a different direction um I I think the positives were he uh got better as the game went on uh I thought that there was some command issues clearly um you know just got better I thought you know even in that sixth inning he was efficient um I wanted to try to get him through that inning and um you know it was uh the walk to Cody and then he gives up the hit to bradies and then I felt that was it um but yeah I think the stuff was good the fastball veloc obious there was some swinging missing there I thought at times the the slider was good and uh the cutter was good at times just overall the command just wasn't quite there do you think that sort of step back from where it was the last couple starts um I think uh tonight uh he didn't have feel for commanding the fast ball um I think that tonight he didn't have his curve ball working the way it has been in the last couple starts uh you know even in that first atbad um to have he had MO two and then he leav a curveball up to just give a flare but if it would have got to the dirt you know could have been a different inning you know to start but um I think for me I think the fastball command and the cve does it just feel like his margin for error especially on night like tonight is really fine just with where he's at so trying to build some consistency here I think that's fair um you know it's hard to to pitch consistently and effectively um efficiently if you don't have the margin and uh I will say yeah you know when he does make a mistake uh it seems like he pays for it um even when it's not that bad of a pitch it just seems like you know he's not getting that easy out it's a flare or it's something that's hit hard you know even the pitch of Cody was supposed to be down in away and he yanked it and Cody hit out of the ball so so um I think it speaks certainly the Martin there since that Series in Arizona it's 23 runs in the last six games does it just kind of feel like like moments like tonight where you guys had a chance a really big number of in a few different Innings you just have them capitalized on as well this week yeah you know I I think I think offensively um the first certainly the first few innings were forgettable as far as uh against Hendricks but I thought calibrating and and getting the change up up I thought we took better ads and we took the walks we needed got him out of the game and we stressed their pen Kyle as well and we just couldn't get that hit to really put up that multiple cricked numbers but I think off offensively I think you know up and down the lineup I thought show Hay rookie Freddy you all took really good Advance uh tonight how important will it be just kind of going through the next couple weeks here to get especially some of the guys at the bottom of the order kind of a little more back top form for them um yeah you know what I think that you know Ms is sort of hanging in there um Tommy's been fantastic uh I think just the had bat from the left side from the right side um you know migy R he's still I still think he just takes good at bats um and L Lux is uh cold off a little bit but I still think I feel good when he's in the batter BLX but um yeah I mean I think the production from the bottom half I certainly we know it's not you know as dire um as it was early in the season um you know offensively I still think we're in a good [Music] spot uh tomorrow maybe at you know four Japanese players andone going Japan uh tomorrow is going to be exciting um obviously imaga uh got the best of us in Chicago and uh seya and for us we get Yamoto back so that's exciting for for us um like I said today he's got 50 to 60 pitches um something like that and obviously shoh so it's going to be a great uh um certainly in Japan people are going to be tuned in and excited and it should be a good crowd again and uh we expect a good performance thanks guys
