confirmed by Lion's owner president amerid Martha Firestone Ford Joe Schmidt had the heart of a lion which made it fitting that he would also be the heart of our team Joe was an integral part of our Championship seasons and continued to be an important part of our organization until his passing Joe made his home in Detroit and brought his success from the field to our community I am saddened to hear of his passing but have nothing but fond memories of the person he was I share my deepest condolences with Marilyn and his children statement said Schmidt was a standout middle linebacker for the Lions for 13 seasons and helped Detroit win two NFL championships during his career Schmidt collected 10 Pro Bowl selections and made eight all pro teams while playing in 155 games emulating 24 interceptions and 17 fumble recovery Schmidt was originally a seventh round pick by Detroit out of Pittsburgh and is also a member of the college Hall of Fame after his playing career ended Schmidt was the head coach of the lions from 1967 to 1972 going 43 to 347 with four winning seasons and one playoff birth it is with great sadness that we announce his passing he was much loved and will never be forgotten may he rest in peace American comic book artist and Fry co-creator Carl Molen passed away Thursday night at the age of 18 the news of his death was confirmed by friends and colleagues on social media although the exact cause of death has not yet been released his artist Legacy however lives on in the pages of the comics he helped create and in the impact he had on the industry some of Carl moline's most famous work came in The Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off Bray which he co-created with Jos Weeden fry was a futuristic Take On The Buffy franchise and starred a Slayer named malaka Senator and Pioneer in opic medicine sadly passed away on September 12th 2024 the age of 83 although the exact cause of death has not been released he leaves behind a legacy of public service and contributions to healthc care in the state Dr Henry was a prominent figure in both politics and Medicine having introduced laser eye surgery to Arkansas and contributed to the creation of the Jones
