Introduction hello everyone my name is Jane and welcome to jys English in this video we will discuss about the simple present tense the simple present tense is used if we want to talk about the things that we do all the time we use distance to talk about fixed hobbies habits or routines for example I play basketball if you have he/she/it or Subject one name as a subject your verb must be singular it means you must add an S or ES to your root fruit here's the pattern subject + root verb + S or ES + object examples she cooks dinner he goes to the Examples train station Joseph plays the piano Pattern if you have I you we they or two or more names as a subject your pattern should be this subject plus root verb plus object examples I like cookies they want some grapes John and Mark play tennis we also use distance to talk about jobs positions etc the pattern is subject plus be verb plus job or position [Music] what be verb should I use please remember this if the noun or pronoun is I the be verb is M if it's he/she/it or one name the be verb is is if you we they two or more names the be verb s are examples I am a Verb Examples teacher he is a doctor Jenny is a student they are nurses Matthew and Luke are dentists now let's have a short exercise choose the correct answer you will have one minute to answer [Music] [Music] [Music] Quiz number one he rides a bike number two Joseph and Mark go to school number three I play the violin number four they are engineers number five my mother is a teacher number six she takes some pictures seven my father drinks coffee number eight Jane and Jenny are students number nine we clean the house number ten she brushes her teeth [Music] that's it for our simple present tense I hope you learned something new today for more videos please don't forget to subscribe to our channel thank you for watching bye [Music]
