it's the NFL on EA Sports where we'll see two of the NFL's oldest and most stored franchises it's the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles and it's coming up next EA Sports coverage of the National Football League welcomes you to South America and one of the world's most populous cities vibrant South Pao in the Southeast region of Brazil great to have you with us in this Prime Time battle Mike too and Greg Olen with you under the lights we'll be putting in the spotlight the running backs these are two teams Greg with backs who can tote it and carry it and make guys miss they're going to give us a fun old school game on the ground here tonight yeah I think it's pretty cool Mike cuz I mean how many of these games have you and I done where we start out saying all right the quarterbacks the wide receiver these two passing games that's how these offenses are built but now we have a little bit of a throwback and for two teams that unapologetically say we are going to run our offense through the running back position we don't see that so often anymore so for two guys like us that understand and appreciate the Legacy and the history of this game I think it's kind of fun here comes the pack and here comes Jordan love Fifth Season quarterback but Greg just his second as a starter waited his turn and had a really good first year as a starter I think when you break down this game Mike I think it's really quite simple I think it really comes down to the ageold hey be balanced on offense can their passing attack and rushing attack complement each other cuz what that does is it makes the defense defend the entire field and then the number one goal of every team every week in the NFL no self-inflicted negatives that's tackles for loss s and then of course the most important one don't turn the ball over third down and n on play action love he gets that complete as he hits Reed and he's down inside the 40 yd line ball rests at the 37 it's first and [Applause] 10 here's a hand off to Jacob and they bring him down inside the 25 yd line first and 10 back to throw is love the catch is made this is Tucker cck and they're going to get this all the way down inside the five well they certainly aren't wasting any time marching down the field I mean you only need one hand to count how many plays they've run and yet they find themselves first and goal inside the low Red Zone an opening drive touchdown would be an ideal start on the road they have it first and goal here's Jacobs and that big offensive line clearing space he's in Josh Jacobs touchdown Packers exactly the way they scripted this one a beautiful opening drive Greg able to find the End Zone on the game's first possession and Mike the word that comes to mind looking at that drive is execution and that's exactly what they talked about all week long they wanted to come out early in this game and establish an early Rhythm and that's exactly what they did with that touchdown Drive 7 nothing is our score as this kick is sent into the air this one is fielded In The End Zone but he decides not to bring it out so they'll take over at the 30 yd line the Eagles leted out by their quarterback and he is the leader of this offense Jaylen Herz has that calm demeanor about him can make the big plays as well Greg H is already in his fifth year in the NFL this is someone who just seems like every year they just get better and better Mike right I mean think back whether it was Alabama to Oklahoma to being a Heisman finalist going from a backup roll to MVP candidate his development has been fun to watch and now he's universally considered one of the best all round quarterbacks in the league and if they want to leave here with a win they're going to need him to be just that hers to the air on first down and they're going to track him down he couldn't find a receiver and down he goes and now we're seeing the game kind of go back and forth each team trading blows trying to establish control over the other nice chunk play on the previous play the defense responds back with a sack and we'll see which team can establish a little bit more of this control as the game unfolds the speed and the get off by the big interior defensive tackle m i mean he got through there so fast he almost took the hand off himself [Applause] he'll get this complete that's AJ Brown they got 14 there didn't get it by much but they do pick up the first [Applause] down from the shotgun it's HS quick slant into the hands of Smith and they'll get about half of what they needed it's a pick up of five and sets up second and five [Applause] operating from the gun here's Herz and that's a first down it will be a gain of [Applause] eight yd we are through one it's the Packers on top we'll have more from South America and beautiful sa Pao after this first and 10 now from the [Applause] 36 a run up the Middle with Barkley not much happening there just a short game here's second and [Applause] nine y Herz brought in by the tight end Dallas and they bring him down inside the 25 yd line it's like a textbook methodical efficient NFL drive four for four throwing the ball mixing in some run you're just marching the ball down field at your will and they get a fresh set of downs now to see if they can convert this nice drive into some points lost one on the last play so now it's second and [Applause] 11 to throw is hers and that one knocked away it's incomplete Devonte Smith the intended receiver third down coming up now it's Herz he's got his tight end G working the middle of the field that's a pair of hookups on this drive this one goes for 14 yds and a first [Applause] down they'll run the toss to Barkley and he's fighting to try to get back to the line of scrimmage but will not do it this is going to be a loss of a yard I'd like to see that running back be a little bit more decisive with his cut Mike you can see he was a little hesitant and once you're late making that decision you just kind of get strong laterally great job there by the defense and he has no choice but to take that loss so the hope is when you call these underneath drag routes you're trying to have your tight end come out the backside of the defense in space so when you put the ball on them early it leads to Big yards after it is brought in in the end zone a J Brown touchdown [Applause] Philadelphia the extra point by Elliot is good and the Eagles come right back to tie it at seven each team one possession each team a score 77 as they kick it off on the return here's Jaden Reed and a solid run back there he'll get this out past the 30yd line the Packers offense ready to possess the football for the second time we'll try to break out of this deadlock we are all even at seven as they start this drive first and 10 and they will bring him down on the other side of Midfield a fresh set of downs to work with it is first down and 10 now love and they're going to get to him and take him down taken back to the other side of Midfield work to do now as they come up on second and long the open man is Reed he's got it and he's going to be brought down inside the 15 if you want to score points at a high level in the NFL you have to great explosive plays and after that big chunk pass play they find themselves now down there in the red zone and this is where you have to finish drives nice job finding the seam gain of about nine just a yard short of that first down they'll run with Jacobs he'll take this for a couple but the official sign he has enough first down they'll try to run this one in trying to find a crease in there it's a big pile of bodies but he is going to come up short another shot from the one on second and goal one more time it's Jacobs powering forward he's in Josh Jacobs touchdown Green Bay he's got another one his second touchdown of the evening what a standout performance early on in this one that his second rushing touchdown of the game and some backs Mike they just have a sense of finding the end zone and being able to finish off these runs that's exactly what this guy has been able to do today and we're just getting started still a little time final minute of this first half we'll see if they can do anything with this kickoff that is coming their way this one is fielded In The End Zone but he will not bring it out it's Touchback and this drive will begin at the 30 yd line a first down throw for Herz that's caught saquan Barkley that's the way to get started a picked up a 17 and a very quick first down to throw is Herz that'll be taken in by barley certainly not the biggest play of the day but a good example of picking up positive yardage staying ahead of the chains by a well-timed ball and a well timed route a second down throw for Herz a short throw taken in by gard and he will have a first down and they're in a field goal range now at the 30 again Herz he'll go right back to Gard he's got it again and he's close to another first down as he's brought down just shy of the marker they'll come to the line now on second and two to the air again hers quickly to the outside and complete and he'll be taken down now the Eagles will use the last of their timeouts as they stop it with 16 seconds to go in the opening half Herz will work here from the pistol and that's going to wind up uncatchable out of the back of the end zone it's incomplete they let a golden opportunity slip away on that one that's the matchup that they wanted they just couldn't quite capitalize on second and goal a pistol snap back to Herz and this is two far over the end line it's incomplete you can feel them starting to press a little bit especially with this passing game they find themselves so close to the end zone they got to get it over the goal line you got to be a little bit more accurate you got to be a little bit the pressure too much and he goes [Applause] down y attemp so we are at halftime here in sou Paulo in the NFL welcome in everyone to our EA Sports halime report we just watched a solid first half from the 2022 rushing champ Josh Jacobs he chipped in a couple of touchdown runs as he was running with determination right from the word go coach thank you both teams trying to find the right formula to come out on top in this second half coming up and this one is fielded In The End Zone will not be returned so it'll come out to the 30 the Eagles offense ready to get going again they'll have it first in this third quarter they Trail now 14- seven as will come up for first and 10 he'll Dodge one would be tackled wind up getting a nice gain of six on the play they'll come up now for second down and four a shotgun snaap now to Herz that's a short one caught by G and he's down on the other side of Midfield Mark him at the 48 yd lock set to go now on First and 10 first at the 4 yd here goes Herz on the design run and a nice run there he'll be stopped just shy of a first down a pick up of nine second and a yard 39 on the hand off this is Barkley he'll push forward for about a yard Preston Smith there to bring him down third here's third down and a few inches now hers that's complete tight end got her and he's going to have an eagles first down they are able to move the sticks it's a gain of four on Third and nches throwing is Herz that's taken in by Brown and that keeps him ahead of schedule that's a first down completion of seven yds second down and [Applause] three on play action hers that'll be caught left side it's G recognizing the blitz is just the first step in the process for a quarterback understanding who you can account for with the protection and then who you can't account for that's where your hot receiver comes in he points to his receiver who the defender they're hot off of that guy comes gets the ball out of his hand and results in a completion if you send your field goal unit on the field Mike it gives you a chance to chip away at this deficit but I think I'm keeping my offense on the field I'm going to one of my critical plays on my call sheet keep this drive alive the hope is to Come Away with six they'll try it now with Barkley and he's not going to get there the defense was ready for it and they stuff him on fourth down on the ground it's Jacobs to start the drive not much to speak of on that one maybe a gain of a yard it's second from the gun it's love that'll be caught it's Josh Jacobs and they will bring him down on the other side of [Applause] Midfield on first down it's love this one is caught by Reed and he's going to be brought down here on what will turn out to be the final play of the the third [Applause] quarter here's first and 10 love that's caught right side it's the tight end musr defense does a nice job here initially using Zone coverage to take away the middle of the field that's the most valuable real estate in football quarterback gets off his first read sees some openings to the sideline and him and his receiver are able to connect Josh Jacobs was the intended receiver and it's going to be third down out of the shotgun it's love he's got a man that's Watson and he's going to have the first down it is a gain of six good conversion on third down now Jacobs and he's inside the 10 pushing forward for a gain of five yds the break the Huddle it's second and five back to throw is love and he's into the end zone that might be the knockout punch Jaden Reed touchdown Packers everything you want to do right there Greg in the fourth quarter get the ball with the lead and extend it to a two-score Advantage yeah and I think this just might end up being too much to overcome you said it once you get a two-c scored lead this late in the fourth quarter there's just not enough possessions to be had to claw yourself back in it the pat up and good and the Packers will take a 21-7 lead both teams ready to go once more as the kicks away this kick is fielded In The End Zone but no move to bring it out it's Touchback and that ball will come out to the 30 yd line on first down it's Herz that's taken in right side by G and he's going to get this one out to the 43 yd line hers looking to throw on first down to the outside catch made by Brown had their lone touchdown the game earlier and he comes through with the catch and a first down in this [Applause] spot Herz working in the pistol he'll tuck it carrying that ball Loosely and it is out and the defense has it something these running back coaches preach all the time Mike is you can't sacrifice the ball for addition yardage and I think we had a case of that going here I love the effort I love the fight but it can't come at the expense of the ball everything in football is about protecting the ball itself and this case just a little bit too loose with it they're able to pop it loose and that's a big turnover the Packers offense ready to come back out for this next possession the lead is a couple of touchdowns as this drive kicks off first and 10 at this stage in the fourth quarter great job by the defense understanding exactly what the offense is trying to do they're trying to bleed the clock shorten the game they completely sold out to stop the run able to take him down for a loss you've got to consider this an absolute must stop defensively it's third down to throw is love oh that may be the break they needed that one's intercepted picked off by their rookie second rounder and he's going to set up his guys with great field position a huge chance to cut into the [Applause] deficit on first down it's Herz he's got his tight end G working the middle of the field and he's going to be taken down and that will take us to the two-minute warning they'll drop to throw quick throw out wide it's caught he's close to a first down it's a gain of nine nice pitch and catch on first [Applause] down now Jaylen Herz on second down that is caught what a job to keep the Play Alive Squan Barkley touch down [Applause] Eagles hers will try it again that's going to be incomplete that would have been a tough grab the Collision J it loose the try for two is unsuccessful with the rule changes on kickoff Mike it's just so hard to really expect to recover an onside kick nowadays there's a lot of people pushing for kind of a radical change to this hey can we make it fourth and 15 offense gets the go if they convert it they keep the ball I'm not sure that ever happens but we can see here onside kick not much of a chance here's a second and three fourth [Applause] coming they'll stay on the ground with Jacobs good running there he's got the first down inside the 30 [Applause] once again it's Jacobs and some space opens as he's brought down following a gain of [Applause] six on second down Jacobs and he'll be near the first down marker let's call it a gain of three but a short yardage situation coming up on third down he'll try to run it here with Jacobs he's got nowhere to go the defensive front controlling the line of scrimmage there and that's going to bring up fourth down and they'll try it now with Jacobs and he's going to have a Packers first down they manage to convert that'll keep the drive alive so it's a win for the Packers they were the aggressors from the start able to dictate the pace of play in the end they come away with the victory so that'll do it for us for Greg Olsen and our terrific
